Re: Kickstarter For Cuphead-Style Enchanted Portals Is Delayed Following Publisher Interest

NImH

Regardless of the repeated point made about how "this is not just a clone, it's a super, mega, ultra clone!" my point is that if it can make a place for itself, it will surely evolve and become something other than the game it is obviously mimicking... like the Giana Sisters.
And to the person who chimed in and used all caps & no punctuation and told me to "GROW UP," keep on being you. Commenters like you are what makes being online so much fun 👍

Re: Kickstarter For Cuphead-Style Enchanted Portals Is Delayed Following Publisher Interest

Did everyone lose it on Bendy too when that came out? If this game can actually earn its place in the world with a great game, it deserves to live. Giana Sisters totally cloned Super Mario Bros, but they earned their place. Whiners stuck on the art style really don't understand just how often their favorite forms of media are blatant ripoffs of something better. (Most popular music hits employ the Millennial Whoop for that very reason.) But in this case Cuphead is more popular than its imitation.

Re: This Limited Run Switch eShop Game Is Currently On Sale For Just 9 Cents

NImH

@Filth_Element @wazlon what I hope for at the very least whenever I take a chance on one of these super-cheap Indies, is that they have heart. Even if the game seems undercooked, unpolished or too short, I see it as supporting an indie dev. So much work goes into these games, and no one should complain about paying $5 (or less) for a functional & not-so-bad game.

Re: Fans Left "Disappointed" At Developer Atooi's Attitude Towards Chicken Wiggle Switch Kickstarter

NImH

Anyone who's worried about how long it's taking for Chicken Wiggle need not. I've been waiting & asking about their upcoming title Treasurenauts for about 6 years now... And that's sure to come home soon enough 😄 These things take time! Have patience! In the meantime, just do what I did and buy the HD rerelease of Mutant Mudds for the second time to hold you over! 😑

Re: Guide: The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 2 - Everything We Know So Far

NImH

@sword_9mm that's a horrible example. Many, many OG Zelda fans like myself completely connect with BotW as the modern realization of what we first played on the NES. This is the Zelda we had back then, met with the 3D in-world experience first introduced in Ocarina. Sure, it's missing some of what people expected with the repeated themes that were begun with Ocarina, but Hyrule as we knew it is destroyed. What would you expect? The whimsy of that world was lost and they've been just-surviving for 100 years.
What exactly were you missing in BotW? The Zelda theme and Field of Hyrule music? An Ocarina? I mean, imagine a handful of looping overworld songs while you're wandering and exploring for 20 hrs... That's guaranteed obnoxious.
And as for the weapon degredation, I think it's a refreshing idea the keeps battle and survival hand-in-hand, as it should be. You can't just take hit after hit on a shield and not expect it to split at some point. Likewise with a weapon. Some weapons are more brittle than others (stupidly brittle in some cases) but that's called variety and unexpected circumstances.

Re: You Can Now Play Online With Your Friends In Super Mario Maker 2

NImH

@Moonlessky thank you. Amiibo support and the insane amount of awesome character sprites make the original better than 2. Talk about endless creative potential. Everytime I see a "Play Link's Awakening in Mario Maker 2" video I'm thinking, shut the hell up... We could've actually done that in part 1. I'm way salty about the removal of amiibo in 2.

Re: Nicalis Investigation Reveals Tales Of Ghosting, Slurs And Mistreatment Of Staff

NImH

@Dang69 he was rubbing salt in on the people who were supporting his lifeline. It was the worst time to be unsupportive and dismissive. Other Indie publishers like the dudes who put out Affordable Space Adventures were coming up with solutions and great games, while Nicalis was just riding Cave Story into the sunset after cutting Pixel's name off of his own creation. I stand by my original sentiment that Tyrone is a major... "questionable guy" or, can I say, "letter-after-C bag?"

Re: Nintendo: It Would Be A "Disservice" To "Loyal Fans" To Release Animal Crossing In A Rushed State

NImH

The simple, honest explanation is that Animal Crossing starts in the spring. Duh. Why is everyone acting like they've never played a dang AC game? All of the default experiences are springtime activities. They can't release it in autumn or winter. Who the heck wants to start with brown trees or snow? We build up to that. I don't understand why Nintendo is explaining the "delay" as such. It's so stupid.

Re: Motion Twin Still Thinking About A Multiplayer Component For Dead Cells

The focus would no longer be on speedrunning... And that's completely fine with me. Numerous times, I've found myself standing and pondering how to best sort a bunch of powerful enemies just out of range, not worried about my speed. Working together to dispatch tough minibosses or groups of enemies would be really fun.
