Retail giant Amazon has shared a list of its best-selling products from the video game world throughout 2020, and it sure looks like Nintendo had one heck of a year.
When removing accessories and top-up cards from the full rankings in order to focus on just the games themselves, seven of the top ten titles were exclusive to Nintendo Switch. Animal Crossing: New Horizons is on top, which is perhaps no surprise, but even games like the almost four-year-old Zelda: Breath of the Wild are still selling very strongly indeed.

- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
- Cyberpunk 2077 (PS4)
- Ring Fit Adventure
- Minecraft: Java Edition for PC
- Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity
- The Last of Us Part 2
- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Of course, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity only launched in November, and Cyberpunk 2077 only launched in December, meaning these two games must have sold a very decent chunk of units in a short time.

It’s incredible how the pandemic help a lot of those Ring Fit to be sold.
I hope most of those Cyberpunk copies were being played on a PS5, Lol.
Nice to see a few excellent evergreen Switch titles grace that list as well. Though I doubt we'll see a new Mario Kart anytime soon at this rate.
Smash at 4 is surprising cuz it was 14th on most downloaded games in december. Still a welcome suprise. I was going to rage and say, 'WHERES HADES?' But then I realized that you can't exactly buy hades on amazon. Or you can and I'm stupid
I like seeing BotW make the list. I've clocked like 600 hours into my various playthrough of that game and it has replaced Ocarina as my all time favorite game.
My second most played game is AC:NH.

No Pokemon while even older titles like SSBU, BotW, Ring Fit and MK8DX make it into the list, nice

Hyrule Warriors selling better than TLOU P2 is not something I would have ever anticipated, especially considering HW came out 5 months or so later.

Without a doubt, the original Galaxy is a very special game ihdeed.
I haven't bought a video game from Amazon in quite some time. I would suggest that Amazon sales are skewed towards 'family' purchases. Show me rankings for Base.com, TheGameCollection, Simply Games, Shopto and 365Games.
It’s sad — the only first party original game from 2020 on the list is Animal Crossing. Everything else is a port, released a different year, or third party. I really hope 2021 has more originals coming, although I fear Nintendo is holding them all back to release on the new Switch variant. Honestly, I’m very disappointed with Nintendo’s output of games in 2020 it was worse than the Wii U days in many ways.
When will we find out the overall best selling games of 2020 across all stores?

I’ve bought zero of those games. Not that I don’t buy switch games, just the ones on that list don’t interest me.
Bought Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Trials of Mana, Ace Attorney Trilogy and Earthlock this holiday season. Finished Trials of Mana. Almost halfway through the Golden Deer route in Fire Emblem: Three houses. I’d add the monster hunter rise demo to my playlist but I have been unable to download it.
Hyrule warriors sold more on amazon than The last of us 2??? How is this possible?
Don't get me wrong, I love both games, but the former never had the same hype as TLOU2.
