Publishers All In! Games and 505 Games have revealed that Ghostrunner, a cyberpunk parkour title, will be slicing its way onto Switch next month.
The game will be available digitally on the Switch eShop from 27th October. To celebrate the news, a brand new trailer has been released (see above), showing gameplay captured from the Switch itself. The game's press release says that the title's gameplay is of "stunning AAA-quality", and as you'll see for yourself, it is looking very, very nice on Nintendo's platform.
Naturally, we'll need to wait until we get our hands on it before we can test whether or not it feels as good as it looks but until then, here's an official description:
The game takes place in the future, after a global cataclysm where the remains of humanity live in a tower built by The Architect, who died mysteriously years ago. Everyone knows the truth, no one says it aloud.
The world ruled by The Keymaster is harsh. A person’s worth depends on the category of implants they have, defining their whole lives. The implants—given to them in childhood—determine which social group a person belongs to. If you weren’t lucky enough to get a good life, there is nothing you can do.
It's no surprise that a rebellion starts.
You are a cyber-warrior, the only one capable of fighting both in the physical world and in cyberspace. Lost and hunted, thrown into the middle of the conflict, you must use this bond with technology to ascend the tower.
As you climb higher, secrets are revealed. The clock starts ticking on a race to uncover the mystery behind the structure that houses humanity’s last hope. Solve the riddle or be killed—there is no other option.
Are you liking the look of this one? Will you be adding this to your Switch wishlist? Let us know in the usual place.

Not interested in this game but it's great that a highly anticipated top quality new release is coming out.
Would it have killed them to show off some combat in the trailer? You have a katana sword but don’t even swing it once...
Is it just me or does it look too good visually for the switch?
Did they just paste a capture from a PC or something onto a body of a switch?
I find it funny that all of these cyberpunk themed games are coming out so close to Cyberpunk 2077, specifically on a platform that game won't be on
I've heard mixed things about this one. I'll wait for reviews.
I don't know if I will play the game, but looks visually wonderful on Switch. Another case of a miracle port.
Parkour means something like road or lane. So I guess this game is about running fast through the various levels, killing everything, that gets in your way.
I am a bit disappointed with Ion Fury (so far, I haven't given up on it yet!). It just doesn't play as well as it's inspiration sources (Duke Nukem, Blood etc.) IMO.
@Burntbreadman I was thinking the same thing. If it actually looks like this on Switch that would be awesome. However, I have a feeling it's going to be blurry like most of the ports.
I like a bit of Mirror's Edge (even the second one, which might just about qualify as an unpopular gaming opinion) and I like the 80s Sci Fi feel of the trailer. I'm interested and it's on the list.
I can't say anything about the artstyle. I've always loved this sort of Cyberpunk artstyle and glad that the popularity of Cyberpunk 2077 has brought more of this up.
Otherwise this trailer didnt sell me at all. It was a dull, boring, typical indie style trailer that knocks me to sleep the moment it starts.
For a game seemingly focusing its marketing on parkour it showed very little of it and what was there I've seen before in games like Mirrors Edge or Titanfall 2.
There's clearly combat there too unless the sword is just for show, so why have I come away from this having no idea about that presumably large aspect of the game?
Seems like a nothing special game with a setting/artsyle I like being the only real selling point. Granted, it's good given this sort of gameplay is rare to come by, but it hasnt grabbed me the way it should have.
Ok, it probably hasn't much to do with Ion Fury, although it did say 3D Realms at one point in the trailer. But it's 505 games that publishes it, it seems.
Looks neat but 505 Games can get bent.
@shgamer It doesn't mean street or road in this context, it's a sport.

Never been into the parkour genre, except for 2D platformers. Looks great though.
No physical.....options
I loved MIRRORS EDGE. I bought a 360 and pre-ordered it and I was not dissapointed. The second game was just too big with too many requirements to really enjoy the city. O hope this game can scratch that itch for me.
@StevenG
Ok, just read that it was derived from the french word "parcour", which means road or lane.
But it also said that "parkour" was some kind of slang.
Was this the one with David Hayter in it?
Nice, this will maybe fill the Mirror's Edge void on Switch
Wish EA ported the second one, even though it's kinda a mixed reception
Can you turn the gore off? It's just too low-brow and in-your-face.
@NullPointerExcep Ideally I'd rather EA make a new game using the same assets from Mirror's Edge 1/Catalyst and just plop us in a free-roam map to immerse ourselves in the platforming and first-person combat. MECatalyst's story was trite and cringey, but the combat I believe was a bit better from the first. I only played the second though after watching Let's Plays of the first.
Wow, it looks impressive. Don't know how it'll play, though.
I can't usually play First Person games due to motion sickness, but this is the first time I felt motion sick within 5 seconds of the trailer! Far too much spinning camera for me.
It looks like after five minutes you've done it all. i tlooks pretty, but what's the longevity??
@shgamer Which is why I said in this context. The same or similar words can have different meanings based on context. "This ice cream float is cool" and "Nintendo Life is cool" use the same word for two different meanings.
Haha, I knew it was coming to Switch since many months ago, but now I can see a bit of it in action
I'll wait for the physical version I'm a hard core physical guy.
'Stunning AAA-quality' game with stunning AAA quality price?
This actually looks pretty slick.
I’m listening.
The irony about triple-A quality is that many games notoriously have performance problems because they’re rushed to market
It looks like it needs to be 3rd person.
Looks right up my alley. Let’s see what reviews say.
@TheFrenchiestFry that's kind of the point
@Ulysses seriously?
@Burntbreadman
I actually thought the opposite until I watched it again on bigger screen and looked much better there. It looks about right for a top switch game. I think the graphic/art style of "not quite realistic but sort of" really helps clean up any short comings.
Def looks interesting, but it's ALWAYS a gamble making any judgements this early. Is it a short intense game? A long parkour explorer with open-ish world or more linear? The actual combat and upgrade system is only hinted at so who knows. Looks quality though and that is great sign. I'll keep eye out for more info for sure
@MBIIdollabill Everyone has different tastes, and the unnecessary gore featured in Ghostrunner is a turn-off for me, even a dealbreaker since I already have a lot to play this winter.
