Re: Feature: Nintendo Franchises We Want to See at E3 - Star Fox

MrGuinea

I've played thru starfox 64 and that was pretty good but it just wasn't my game style. And the gamecube starfox games were just not really good at all. If it brings something extremely new to the franchise then I'll take a look at it but other than that I'm probably going to overlook this one.

Re: Feature: Nintendo Franchises We Want to See at E3 - Metroid

MrGuinea

@DarthNocturnal @GraveLordXD Ok maybe gimicky wasn't the right word...I just meant that I was much more immersed in it than in any other metroid game. Maybe it wasn't that but there was something about it that did that...

@NowhereMan11 I guess I'm the odd one out then. I'm not sure what parts of the story were bad or what made it bad, but I didn't have any problems with the game that other people claim to have struggled with.

Re: Feature: Nintendo Franchises We Want to See at E3 - Metroid

MrGuinea

I'd prefer Other M style. I'm not really into the whole 2D metroid (although I have played through them). But Other M is probably my favorite in the whole franchise. It was told as if from a cinema perspective and definitely had me wanting to play more and more to let the story unfold. It had a strong story focus and less on gimicky gameplay elements. It was unique. HD Prime would be nice too, but I like when they put a new spin on an old franchise. Just as long as it's a new series not a continuation of Prime itself, because that was a trilogy.

Re: Poll: We Need to Talk About amiibo - Where Do You Stand?

MrGuinea

I was surprised I actually found some wave 4 amiibo. But after too many frustrating tries on getting common amiibos, I've resorted to just getting what I can easily obtain. It stinks that you can't get any features out of them because they are so rare. If they are making a devoted amiibo game they need to restock all of them otherwise it won't sell at all.

Re: Talking Point: Prepare Yourselves - E3 Silly Season is Here

MrGuinea

Last year was quite the spectacle as there were a lot of surprises in the direct I was not expecting at all. So far it seems like there won't be as many this year as a lot of things are already speculated so they won't be a surprise. I just hope my body is ready if they do throw a lot at us this year! All aboard!!!!!!!

Re: Rumour: GameStop No Longer Taking amiibo Preorders, Limiting Sales To One Figure Per Person

MrGuinea

Glad to see some change going on with this. It may not be the best solution, but it's a step in the right direction. This will start to stop scalpers from preordering one, then putting the preorder for their preorder on amazon or ebay.

Also I missed the preorder window of wave 4. I talked to an associate the week prior to the release and she said they had already filled in all preorders for wave 4 during the hour they had it open at the store. I hadn't heard anything about this preorder window because they didn't announce it. Glad to hear I can just wait on the release date if I really wanted to get one rather than going in every few days to ask when the window will be.

Re: Amazon Confirms US amiibo Pre-Order Times for Wave 4, Splatoon and Silver Mario

MrGuinea

I'm done with amiibo. This was the final straw. Until they make them readily available I can't do it.

While refreshing for lucina I never saw her appear but I did see one of the scalpers price increase by $10 and somehow go from 3 in stock to in stock with an estimated ship date later in the week (because they have to get it shipped to them first). Considering this happened at exactly the time lucina was reported to be released the scalpers got most of them. If this keeps up nintendo will lose a lot of fans. Stores around me are already not getting in the new waves of amiibo and if online is dominated by scalpers there's no way to get one. I've also tried to order international but nobody ships here. I don't know how people say they are.
So I'm just done.

Re: Lego Jurassic World Pre-Order Freebies Coming To PlayStation and Xbox, But Not Wii U

MrGuinea

@Quorthon
You keep saying less money, less money, less money. But what I'm talking about is less PROFIT. Did you take economics? Because profits mean that you MADE money not lost it. So no I wouldn't take the job at McDonalds because I would be losing money. But what I would do is stay at my same job and hire someone to cook my food at McDonalds. Sure, hiring the new guy to cook my food will cost some money but that will come out of the profits I'm making elsewhere. I just want to get my food out to the public so they can try it even if I break even with the McDonald's guy.

The point here is that if they weren't making profits on a game they would cut the game completely. But if they are still making the same game on other platforms but not one then they are simply pointing out the fact that their profit wouldn't be as high if they put it out to all systems.

You were incorrect about the argument I was making, and tried making it into an argument you could prove wrong.

Re: Lego Jurassic World Pre-Order Freebies Coming To PlayStation and Xbox, But Not Wii U

MrGuinea

@Quorthon

Still much of the blame should be on 3rd parties. Nintendo doesn't have to be the same cookie cutter console as the others. If every piece of technology ran on the same thing what would be the point? These large 3rd party companies only want to maximize profits. That's it. Every "evidence" that you blamed Nintendo for can all be led back to the 3rd party wanting more profit. I've seen indie devs that port games over just fine, with sometimes better features due to Nintendo's unique hardware. Sure it costs money and time, but if you're a game developer don't you want people to play your game? All they have to do is put in the work. Sometimes everything doesn't come handed to you on a silver platter and you have to actually work at it. I think that's what these companies have gotten comfy to and now they don't want to leave.

Re: Lego Jurassic World Pre-Order Freebies Coming To PlayStation and Xbox, But Not Wii U

MrGuinea

Devs complain their games don't sell on Wii U.
Devs take away incentives to buy their own games on said platform.
Devs offer better incentives to buy their game on other platforms.
Devs complain after release their game didn't sell as well on said platform.
Devs stop making games for said platform blaming the platform itself.

3rd party companies need to realize their digging their own grave and not the other way around. Their digging their own game's grave then handing the shovel to Nintendo and running away blaming them for it.

It's like asking someone if they want pizza from pizzeria 1 or if they want the same pizza from pizzeria B only pizzeria B is going to give you free breadsticks with it.

Or it's like a company not producing pencils for a new notepad that came out because they're waiting for more people to buy the notepad before they do, even though the notepad needs the pencil for it to be useful.

Re: Amazon Confirms US amiibo Pre-Order Times for Wave 4, Splatoon and Silver Mario

MrGuinea

It's nice they announce this because Gamestop in the US did this but never really told anyone about the times unless asked about them.

I just don't get why they don't open up preorders like a month in advance for a few hours and anyone in that time will get one, even if some have to wait. I'd be fine with waiting a month or two as long as I knew I would be getting one. This would give them exactly their demand amount and they wouldn't be feeding scalpers because anyone who would want one would get one eventually.

Re: Capcom Is Bringing The Nintendo Exclusive Resident Evil Zero To Every Modern Gaming System But The Wii U

MrGuinea

I think it's simply they don't want to put in the extra effort. Porting from xbox to ps and vice versa probably isn't too bad considering they're running similar hardware and control schemes. But when you throw in a tad slower hardware and the gamepad, you almost have to redesign the layout of the game. So if you can hit 2/3 consoles with minimum changes/expenditures they're going to do that especially for a remake.

Re: Nintendo Announces Best Buy Locations and Details for Nintendo World Championships 2015 Qualifiers

MrGuinea

Really disappointed as well. I think nintendo failed to capitalize on this opportunity. I thought it would be a small new special game just like in 1990 that they would have exclusively at these events or even a special download available only at those nintendo zones. It'll be unfair for those who don't have the game/system. It'll be more like the "I-lived-close-enough-to-one-of-the-best-buy-locations-and-already-had-nes-remix-2" championships.

Oh well. Hopefully their presentation won't be as disappointing as this news.
Maybe I'll be there for the 2040 "world" championships.

Re: Nintendo Unable To Promise When It Can Remedy amiibo Stock Nightmare

MrGuinea

I stopped buying amiibo since February. I was able to get a few exclusives, but if what are supposed to be normal release amiibos become rarer than the exclusives something is wrong. I have yet to believe anything above wave 3 has actually been released since they are seen everywhere as unavailable.

I'll either buy them when they become available or 20 years from now when they don't matter. But right now, my sights have become set on LEGO dimensions, something that will be more worthwhile to collect and use.

Re: Rumour: Toys "R" Us Cancelling amiibo Orders, Including Exclusive Lucario Figure

MrGuinea

Found my lucario to be cancelled too. Preordered it back in november. Also, I preordered luigi and I STILL have not received it nor heard any updates on it. My zelda and diddy kong were said to be delayed but the next email saying they shipped came about 4 days later when I had already received them. This looks like an email issue and I hope it is because all the emails I get are inconsistent with the actual order status. I'm never preordering from there again aside from the exclusive.

Re: Ubisoft Executive Talks Up Super Smash Bros. as a Wii U System Seller

MrGuinea

@ShadyKnights
Wow I was just about to start typing my comment, but then decided to read your long one. You pretty much summed up everything I was wanting to say.
I just finished up SplinterCell DA and am currently back on Assassins Creed (all on Nintendo systems). I loved Ubisoft. They started off great with the Wii U with ZombiU but now I'm seeing they're just like the rest of them. Don't put all your effort into PS and Xbox games and say that the Wii U ones aren't selling. It's like giving everyone else a whole pizza and then giving any leftovers to Nintendo fans and then wondering why everyone isn't satisfied. All I would want for them to do is Zombi2 as one final game if they're going to call it quits.
