Re: Pokémon GO Was Google's Most Searched Term of 2016

MrGuinea

@PlywoodStick For one, no, and for two, it'd be pretty impressive for them to look up everyone exactly the same number of times, whilst maintaining the most searched. If pokemon go overtook the most searched term, by even 1 search they would have to do 14 billion more searches to maintain the lead. To think that they need pokemon go in order to track you is a little naive.

Re: Miyamoto on the Reasoning Behind Super Mario Run's Pricing

MrGuinea

@SanderEvers You're basically saying everything should be free because you're already paying for it somewhere else. That isn't how anything works. You don't get free gas because you already paid for a car. You can't expect all apps to be free-to-play just because you had to pay for your phone and the internet. I don't know if you know this, but the companies that make your phone and give you internet aren't the same ones that make the apps. The app developers still expect to make a profit out of the work they put in to it. If everything worked how you said it does, we should just have a one time 'life' cost of $5 million. Then everything is free to use and you can happily download the $10 app that you complained about being so expensive.

Re: Rumour: Dark Souls 3 and Trilogy Possible on Nintendo Switch, If System Sales Are Solid

MrGuinea

Here we go again. Guess some developers still don't realize that hardware doesn't sell unless there is software. It'd be like Nintendo waiting to see if zelda breath of the wild sells a lot before releasing the switch. Of course if they do actually do it, they need to release a trilogy, not just DS3. It'd be like when mass effect 3 was released for Wii U. All Nintendo console owners didn't want it because they missed 1 and 2, and everybody else had already got it and wouldn't buy another version of it.

Re: Soapbox: In The Wii U's Final Days, Let's Be Thankful For Lego Dimensions

MrGuinea

I love Lego, but these have just been too expensive to collect them all. If I had money, of course. But I do agree that they shouldn't do what Disney did, and release a new Infinity game every year. That was one of the reasons why it shut down. I think adding content to the core game is the way to go, and maybe in 4 or 5 years update with a new core game (around when new systems would be introduced). You'll get a lot more people committed instead of having waves of people drop off every core release like Infinity had.

Re: A Monster Hunter Movie Series is On the Cards

MrGuinea

This sounds like your typical godzilla/pacific rim movie when giant creatures come to destroy a city, the military gets called, they come and kill them. You can make this movie, just don't call it monster hunter because this has nothing to do with the actual monster hunter games. A monster hunter movie should be set in the fantasy style world that it is and be more like lord of the rings fantasy rather than current world. The director probably hasn't even played a single game.

Re: Rumour: Nintendo Switch To Start At £199.99 In United Kingdom, $329.99 In Canada

MrGuinea

People have to remember that this is a tablet console. The specs will be similar to that of the shield which is around $200 for the smaller model. Nintendo probably still stands by the "if you need more storage then by it separately" mentality since only really hardcore gamers actually buy extra (unless you buy all eshop I suppose). It probably also just comes with the basic controllers as well, with the obvious bundle (or better model) coming with probably the add on grips and stuff. I think $250 is a great price for just the console. $300 or $350 will probably get you the extras that gamers want. Will there be 2 models? Judging by how the Wii U went, I doubt they would go that far. They would probably just add additional storage in the bundle (through sd cards or something).

Re: New North American My Nintendo Rewards Carry A Major Metroid Theme

MrGuinea

I want physical rewards that you can get with all the thousands of points I've got. I don't want to spend more money in order to get anything out of these points. Unless they were the opposite, say 70 or 75% off then maybe. But the current discounts are worthless when you can get that same price for a physical used copy or even new on sale at some stores. And those discounts are free.

Re: Here Are Your New My Nintendo Rewards

MrGuinea

I'd definitely get the Typoman but sadly I'm here in NA. These rewards aren't very good. I wonder what the actually exchange rate is on these, and if it's less than the amount of coins expiring lol.

Re: Report Focuses on Nintendo Switch Touchscreen and IR Pointer on Joy-Con Controller

MrGuinea

Lol at all the silly ranting people. We know nothing at all about whether this is true or not, nor any of the specs of the pad or dock. So to say that this is the worse console ever and they did everything wrong, is simply you being ignorant to the fact that these aren't the facts. Everyone knows what happens when you assume. And you're being a big one right now ranting about how these hypothetical changes are the worst.

Re: Tatsumi Kimishima Suggests Nintendo Switch Will be the Core for a Wide Array of Accessories

MrGuinea

@DiscoGentleman The thing is they've never marketed it towards children...it's everyone like you, and the media and everybody else you keeps on spreading the rumor that they've marketed for children this entire time. There's been several articles on how even Miyamoto was confused at how they became a "child's" product. He was for having GTA on the gamecube, but it didn't happen. Sure they marketed towards families, which inadvertently included kids, but never has their core marketing been for children. Currently, it's everyone else and media who is marketing it as a children's system.

Re: Nintendo's Share Value Continues Its Painful Slide After Reports Predicting Upcoming Financial Loss

MrGuinea

Lol at everyone telling them it's their own fault. Yes, it is their own fault, only because they're working hard on the switch console and games for it (which turns out, is all internal time). So quit your complaining about no software. The same people who complain about them not making Wii U games for this year will be the same ones complaining there aren't enough launch titles for the switch.

They're just doing minimally what they can to just float on through till the Switch is released.

Re: Nintendo Switch Will Be a Single-Screen Experience

MrGuinea

I imagine the screen isn't a touch screen then, because the only reason the gamepad had single touch was for inventory/map management. If there is no dual screen play, there's no point to have touch controls. Which in the end would probably make it a little cheaper anyways.

I have my gamepad with still a backlog of games so I won't be missing the dual screen gameplay anytime soon. I'll probably be picking up the switch late next year.

Re: Poll: Nintendo Switch Delivers Single Screen Gaming - Will You Miss the Dual Screen Concept?

MrGuinea

I feel the dual screen for console gaming never saw its potential. Mostly developers just used it for off screen gaming (which is just single screen gaming), but a few others actually used it great. Even Nintendo failed to really use it aside from being great help for Pikmin 3. Really, really, really sad the Wii U never got a Battalion Wars, as the gamepad would've been great for top down RTS style army control, while the main screen offered individual unit control on the battlefield. A great opportunity that was sadly missed. We also will never know what Metroid could've done with dual screens. But alas, here's hoping these great franchises will return for the switch.

Re: Nintendo Share Value Drops 6.5% Following Switch Reveal

MrGuinea

Because everyone loves playing the next version of candy crush saga over playing 3D mario or skyrim. A load of bricks would know this is better and different than a smartphone. Just look at how the windows phone turned out. We don't need a new smartphone in the market. What isn't there is a mobile console, and Nintendo saw that and jumped right into it.

Re: Talking Point: The Problems With My Nintendo So Far, and Why All's Not Lost

MrGuinea

I don't really by Nintendo games digitally as I love the physical versions. So I really don't get any benefit out of using it. Also if there were free games you could get like what Club Nintendo did I would do that. But paying all this money for games to get gold coins that only give you a 15% discount on digital games? Most stores you can get coupons that offer 20 to 25% off just for free. There's really no benefit for it in my opinion in its current state.
