Re: Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival Won't Have Online Play

MrGuinea

I wasn't expecting this game to have online multiplayer because these games are the best played locally, although it seems other evidence proves that this game will have online play. I'm still excited for this game because I love the animal crossing series and the reason I'm getting it is for the local multiplayer and the fun.

Re: Review: LEGO Dimensions (Wii U)

MrGuinea

So it's basically a normal LEGO game only instead of getting the characters with studs, you have to shell out $15 to $30 to unlock them. I thought this was going to be different in some way but it's just an expensive LEGO game. I like all the other LEGO games, but until I can get this for 70% off, I'm going to stick with LEGO Worlds instead of spending $500 to play this game.

Re: Chibi-Robo!: Zip Lash Fails to Clean Up in Japanese Charts

MrGuinea

@ReshaSong I haven't played it yet, but it's basically the wheel of replayability. The levels are on the wheel and basically to clear the world you have to beat all the levels. Only you can't choose the levels, you have to spin the wheel and that's the level you play. It forces replaying levels you've already completed whether you like it or not in order to beat the game, and you may replay a level 10 times before getting to the last level in a world.

Re: Chibi-Robo!: Zip Lash Fails to Clean Up in Japanese Charts

MrGuinea

We all knew this was going to happen. Hopefully Chibi will reprise on the NX in 4 or so years with a new actual Chibirobo game just like on the GCN. It's a shame because it would have been a hit with a new HD Chibirobo on the Wii U but instead we got photo finder and this.

I would've rather them have ditched both of those games and used the combined budget and time to develop a good one for the Wii U. I don't know why this was the idea they came up with. Hopefully they realize that why this game sucked wasn't because of Chibirobo but because of the game he was apart of. The train derailed at photofinder and crashed off the mountain side at ziplash.

Re: Best Buy Opens Pre-Orders for Falco's amiibo Release in North America

MrGuinea

I'm still catching up from the restocks and these new ones are all coming out way to fast for my wallet to catch up. I got this one since its exclusive, and I'll get the Mii fighters and AC festival and that will have to be it till February to let my wallet breathe a little. Especially since I'm also getting the Xenoblade special edition.

Re: Rumour: Data Miner Discovers Three Empty Character Slots in Super Smash Bros.

MrGuinea

We already knew there would be 3 more characters because it was announced at E3 and they're going to be most if not all ballot characters too. I understand E3 sucked this year but I thought most people watched the smash direct before it. People also thought the ballot had ended back in June when they thought Ryu was going to be a ballot character. So maybe people are just really bad at retaining information.

Re: Chibi-Robo!: Zip Lash Could Possibly be the Last Game in the Franchise

MrGuinea

@rdrunner1178 Finding the gc version is rare now unless you want to spend $60 online for it, so an HD remaster would be awesome. I haven't played the first one, but I played the PP one and that was fun, just giving me a small taste of what the first one was like.

@jmbarnes101 I agree. They should have stuck with what ChibiRobo is good at, and not turn it into platforming. It would be like making Pikmin into a platforming game. It's just not right. And we already have tons of Mario platforming so there's no need to try to turn another loved IP into platfoming just because it works for Mario. Chibi had his thing and he was good at it.

Re: NOA Announces Coming Restock of Old amiibo

MrGuinea

Just went to 2 ToysRUs's this morning and was able to get Greninja and Fox at the first one and Little mac and Capt. Falcon at the second. I went at about 11am this morning and the second store had all of those mentioned in the article restocked.

Re: Feature: Looking at the Building Blocks of LEGO Dimensions

MrGuinea

Just saw this in stores and realized I won't be buying this anytime soon. $15 for the small sets and $30 for the large ones. I'll have to look at the gameplay because if the levels are like the old Lego games, $15 is way too expensive for just a level. I might pick this up way down the road though, at some discounted prices.

Re: Climate "Not Healthy" For Dedicated Handheld Games Consoles, Says Sony's Shuhei Yoshida

MrGuinea

lol I like how Sony blames the entire market base of why the Vita failed whereas Nintendo owned up to their failure and reversed it for the 3DS.

Still I would like a dedicated handheld for gaming. Most phone games are pay to win type games with no real value. If the games were strictly a flat price instead of $200 later you still haven't unlocked everything. Most of those games are quick apps that are thrown out to the market. Handheld games are of much, much better quality.

Plus, you don't have those dumb game requests with mobile games everyday that somebody asks you to get them gems or some crap.

Re: Apple Just Announced Its Own Wii, Almost A Decade After Nintendo

MrGuinea

It seems Apple is finally running out. All of their "new" innovative products are just old products that other companies have done already. I think Apple is getting way too cocky in thinking that their version will be the best one just because it has an Apple on it. The controller looks like another iPhone which wouldn't even feel close to a baseball bat in grip. Everyone already has a wii, xbox, or ps lying around which all had motion controls had some point. This was a fad in 2006 and it's 10 years later. Apple has really been behind the times. That's ok though, because all the hipsters will want it because it's "retro" lol.

Re: Chibi-Robo!: Zip Lash Will Support Plenty of amiibo, Genre Given as 'Whipping Platformer'

MrGuinea

@Kirk It's funny that you mention that because that actually is happening. In a lot of places cocacola and other like companies are paying for schools to keep unhealthy lunches (high in sugar) and to put in vending machines. Maybe not free, but when almost all children eat school lunches they are banking on getting them addicted to sugar so they will buy coke later on.

Not really about the game lol but just thought I'd spread some knowledge.

Re: Netflix Update Goes Live on Wii U

MrGuinea

@Not_Soos I THOUGHT Nick had shows on there! My memories of watching spongebob on netflix were real!

In other news, I actually called their support about this when I first got my Wii U about having profiles. They said they were working on it (this was 2 years ago).

Re: Shovel Knight amiibo Confirms "Evolving" Relationship With Indies, Says Nintendo

MrGuinea

Nintendo has been doing a lot with indie devs lately which I like. Usually those games are far better than what larger 3rd parties can muster up and they are much more unique. I think since those large 3rd parties have deserted them, Nintendo is trying to gain more indie respect. Which would then make sense for them to go a no optical drive route for the NX since most indie developers release on the eshop.

Re: Minecraft: Story Mode is Heading to Wii U

MrGuinea

I'm happy that this is finally coming to the Wii U. Seems a lot of smaller developers are porting their games over to Wii U lately with sometimes more features than it started with. If these smaller companies can do it you'd think that larger ones would as well (they shall not be mentioned here).

Re: New Patent Sparks Talk of Potential NX Details

MrGuinea

I'm still just waiting till next E3 when they actually show off the stuff. This kind of stuff is still food for thought on the possibilities of the NX but know one knows what it actually is except for Nintendo themselves right now.

Re: Ubisoft Announces Just Dance: Disney Party 2 Is Coming To The Wii U This Holiday Season

MrGuinea

@BinaryFragger @gatorboi352 Typically speaking, the people who enjoy games don't like the popular franchise "Just Dance". If you were waiting for a cool new video game and got Just Dance I know you wouldn't be excited either. Most Nintendo fans are gamers not dancers. So when all of the hardcore games are taken away, and all that's left is this dancing game, naturally, you can see why many would be frustrated. It'd be the same way if it was for PS or XBox

@Mahe 0.5 million were on the Wii U, whereas ZombiU sold almost 0.9 million. I'd rather have a half***ed zombi2 that sells 0.5 million than another just dance.

Re: Video: Super Mario Maker Contains Secret Fly Swatting Mini Game

MrGuinea

@Kirk
If you recall, the first Super Mario Bros. had none of what you are talking about. So to say that it's missing out on those features is incorrect. This MarioMaker is a game to create levels based upon the first Super Mario Bros. so it IS a full mario maker. You can however play with updated graphics, but if you put in the new things like you said it would be incompatible with the older graphic styles as new animations/sprites would be required. It would be like trying to create a Legend of Zelda maker by using Skyward Sword as a baseline. If they were to create one they would most likely use the original Legend of Zelda 2D style and make it 3D from there.

So, overall this DOES have everything of what made the first mario game special plus a little more. It might not have all the features after that game that made the other games special, but it has features that make MarioMaker itself stand out.

I'd like to see those extra features in later updates if possible, but what they've created is something in itself magical.

Re: Video: Here's How Zombi Shapes Up Against The Original ZombiU

MrGuinea

@rdrunner1178 It's not that they lost money, it's that they didn't make as much as they wanted to on it. That's why I've been not liking these large companies because all they care about it shifting units instead of putting enjoyable games out to everybody like smaller devs try to do.

But aside from that, I don't mind ports but the fact with this one is that they are just trying to get some more money out of it. They would never do this if this was the other way around.

And I'm actually surprised the graphics look so similar. It looks like they added more light which seems silly considering darkness is the whole atmosphere of the game. But the Wii U actually does have great graphics aside from what everyone thinks.

Re: Review: Sanatory Hallways (Wii U eShop)

MrGuinea

Devs could really have some interesting fun with this kind of concept. It's a shame a lot of these concepts won't be full leveraged in the wii u's life cycle and the biggest breakthrough will be "off screen play".
