Amazon Confirms US amiibo Pre-Order Times for Wave 4, Splatoon and Silver Mario

I will try to get Silver Mario, but only because it would look good on in my room. Like a trophy.

I'm generally tired of NoA/US retailers on amiibo. Imported my last batch from Japan. Paid a few extra bucks for the shipping, but it was worth not having to deal with the stock nightmares.

Walmart has already shipped my three pack, which are the only ones I want this wave.

Not sure I like the random time thing. Makes it seem that only people hitting refresh constantly will get orders in.

Forget it. I'm not jumping through hoops and being online at certain times for amiibo figures that are basically worthless in games anyway. Saving my toys to life money for Disney Infinity 3.0.

Not really pre-orders since it's on the Street Date. Walmart.com has already shipped my Splatoon 3-Pack and Wario, if I had paid for faster shipping I'd have them tomorrow before Amazon's go up, and Amazon has Street Date delivery for Prime so if I'd been able to pre-order at Amazon earlier then I'd get them tomorrow with free shipping.

Also this is a way better alternative than waiting on line with over 300 people for at least 8 hours for a midnight release (includes time it takes to reach store entrance). Time that is better spent playing Splatoon after the eshop release and relaxing.

I'm sorry but I should be able to just walk into a store and buy whatever Amiibo I want. Until then, I'm not interested and will have to do with my one and only common Pikachu Amiibo.

I'm shooting for the Splatoon pack, since I already have all the Smash ones and I have zero interest in silver Mario.

I always get my amiibos from Bestbuy because i get 20% off them figures but on less it's exclusive else where.

Going to best buy first to see what i can get as I will be at work during these times but I'll try for each if I can.

Going to import the FE characters if I have no luck.

After the nightmare of Wave 3 and all the exclusives, I have decided to import. Im a 32 year old man with disposable income for my hobbies. Ducking out of work or taking my kid to the mall to wait in line had me shaking my head and admitting an addiction. I pay more but I have imported from Japan lately and I love it. No stress! I have had wave 4 for a few weeks. I just get the NA exclusives now.

Going to Target at 8AM to pick up Splatoon after I drop my kid off at school for band practice. Wasnt planning on buying any amiibo for myself but now I feel compelled to.

Though I suppose there wont be any so whats the point of even thinking about it.

Hope I get the water pistol though.

Are people in the UK and EU currently playing Splatoon? It was midnight there a few hours ago, I expected an article on it.

I just don't understand what Nintendo doesn't get about supply. We're now onto Wave 4 and yet they're expecting stock to be limited before its even launched. Why don't they manufacture more ahead of time? At this point, they're just missing out on tons of sales.

Lucina, Silver Mario, Robin. If I can get those three, I will be very happy. I'll be visiting a few walmarts tomorrow morning anyway though. Just got back from trying to find one at midnight, no luck.

I wish Nintendo made it a regular thing to announce pre-order times like they did here in the UK for the last batch. I knew they screwed up the first day but the second day seemed to go smooth. It at least rewards the fans that follow them on Twitter or follow news sites like this.

Also weird to see these ones have taken so long to be released in the US!

If I go into the store and the amiibo I want is there then I buy. If not, it's Nintendo's loss for not having product on the shelf. These aren't online exclusive so I'm a buyer if the stores have stock. No stock, no buy, no "hunting" for a product, just not my priority

@rjejr my splatoon arrived a day early, yesterday , along with my squid amiibo and free t shirt which tbh I won't wear(I'd much rather have had a waterpistol!). Looks good, played the first 1p mission ant then realized nothing else much is accessible without internet!! My internet is rubbish so it looks like I better get ready for some frustrating times ahead =(

These were released in Eurooe few weeks ago and I managed to get Lucina and Ness. I still see some retailers selling NESS for 70€! RETAILERS!

Also today arrives some Amiibo, and my JIgglypuff is coming with my Splatoon Squid edition.. didn't order Inkling Boy or Girl because I thought they'd be more available but... SO far I haven't gotte for what I want is Rosalina, MetaKnight, Shulk and Robin.

My only chance is to buy online.

Fantastic. I get a chance to get some amiibos. I guess this is how Nintendo wants things. They should really catch up on stock from more rare amiibos.

Nice for some. I've decided to just import the ones I really want from Japan no matter the price so I don't have to play this hunting game any more. The exception is Walmart shipped Wario to me yesterday since he was easy to pre-order. Ness in hand from Japan. Jigglypuff and Greninja about to be on their way from Japan. Next up will be bowser jr and zero suit samus. No interest in Splatoon at all. I don't see Nintendo having viable online multi-player environment for long.

Only 4 each of the fire emblem duo. Ouch. Lots of jiggly puff and silver Mario. Many passing on Splatoon stuff so it's still about the smash bros amiibo collection and rare stuff as far as lining up before the store opens

@rjejr how did it go? I got the 3-pack Splatoon amiibo and squirt gun (tiny) no problem getting there about 8 minutes early. Plenty of Splatoon but not a ton of water guns.

I scanned that list a couple of times, looking for when Ness would be available, before remembering he's a Gamestop exclusive. D'argh.

I got Wario, Pac-Man, Jigglypuff, Charzard and the 3 pack(last one) this morning plus an extra Pac-Man for one of my nephews.

They never got any FE Amiibo though.

Silver Mario was there but to be honest I already have the brawl version and I like that a lot better.

I'm gonna pick up Splatoon later and then decide if I want the amiibo or not. If not, then I'll get Pac-Man.

It's nice they announce this because Gamestop in the US did this but never really told anyone about the times unless asked about them.

I just don't get why they don't open up preorders like a month in advance for a few hours and anyone in that time will get one, even if some have to wait. I'd be fine with waiting a month or two as long as I knew I would be getting one. This would give them exactly their demand amount and they wouldn't be feeding scalpers because anyone who would want one would get one eventually.

Was at Toys R Us at opening and all that was on the shelf was a few Silver Mario, Pac-Man and Geninja. Needless to say I picked up all three. No Wario in sight. Sigh.

Just came back from TRU this morning. Stock for Lucina & Robin was 6 each. Boo-urns Nintendo.

On the plus side everything else seemed to be in decent stock. I'm sure most of it will get sold out by lunch but its significantly better than in the past.

I think the reason the US takes longer to get the new waves is due to the fact that america gets more stock overall than the other regions.

I haven't bought any amiibo yet mainly because I don't have the space for them. The ones I wanted the most are Shulk and Pikachu. I gave up buying a Shulk after seeing it was sold out everywhere and I refuse to pay extra on ebay. I may eventually pick up a Pikachu because he is oh so adorable. It's crazy what some people have to go through to get these. If I had more room and they were easier to find I would probably buy them all.

It was insane, I've been out since 6am standing in line at stores to get some. I may have went overboard, but I was able to snag the Splatoon 3-Pack, Robin, Silver Mario, Ness, Jigglypuff, AND Greninja!
The employees at Toys'R'Us were stashing a large number of the Greninja in the back too, unfortunately, and more then likely for scalping purposes.

Didn't have time to hunt too much today, but between Toys R Us & Walmart, I was able to pick up: Pac-Man, Silver Mario, Greninja, Wario and Charizard. For what it's worth there was an actual Nintendo Employee all decked out in Splatoon clothes at Walmart taking pics of the game displays. He mentioned that Charizard would be difficult to find later. Who knows?

Pac Man is in stock at Amazon for the normal $13 for anyone that wants to pick it up. 1 down, many to go.

Hoo boy, I had a fun day. I had an errand to run in town so after that was done I went to Gamestop and waited till 10 A.M. for them to open. Once they did, I got Wario, Pac-Man, and Silver Mario. They had one Ness and one Charizard which the guys ahead of me got, but I was okay with that. They were nice guys, and it was just the three of us. My brother later went to another GS and got me Charizard and Ness and also got Greninja from Toys R Us. Greninja is the one I want most so I was thrilled about that.

This was my first time actually going out and amiibo hunting and I really enjoyed it.

Inkling Boy Up for 13! Doesn't seem like Pac-Man will sell out anytime soon. I am psyched for Lucina!

@aaronsullivan - So did you crack them open yet or still hiding them in the closet for your kid's birthday?

My kids came home from school, saw me playing Splatoon, saw the Charizard amiibo, and then played SSBU for an hour. Turns out they had leveled their 2 other amiibo up to 50, but turned off the game w/o saving the stats back to the amiibo so they were still both at 25. Now they're up to 50, and saved.

I wonder if they'll actually announce a date for the 3DS portal at E3? Then my kids could play SSB for 3DS and I can play Splatoon.

Ouch about stats. Don't have the problem with dedicated NFC reading bases. You know Nintendo really didn't know if the GamePad was a tablet or a controller and went far too much in the tablet direction, IMO. I get why they were thinking this way, but it should have been so much more ergonomic as a controller. Still needed almost all the features, but it should have felt like a pro controller in your hands just with your hands further apart.

What on earth is taking the 3DS thingy so long? Oh, right. New 3DS sales haven't reached a sales goal yet, I'm betting.

if your looking for amiibo i would suggest going on a road trip to a small town with a gamestop or any other store that sells amiibo. i went to my gamestop to pick up splatoon and they had a good amount of splatoon amiibo and probably others( wasnt really looking). i could have got the 3 pack but i just dont have the money for that right now so i just bought a splatoon boy

I pulled charizard a few times but tossed it back, I haven't really been into collecting the pokemon amiibo. I would have maybe took a greninja tho

I also spent over 40 minutes refreshing the Lucina page. A huge disappointment.

I'm starting to think people made bots and masked their IPs to constantly refresh until it's 12.99 and then take them all. Scalpers do that on Ticketmaster all the time for concerts

I think it's really cool that amazon did this, it actually gives most people a chance. If they could go back in time and do this for wave 2 I would be very happy 😆

I knew that wario was up, but I didn't get it because its a pretty common one. I believe I can still go for one on Amazon. Hopefully Robin will be easier.

Unless Amazon only got 5 Lucinas like all the GameStops, then Amazon never put it up for sale at all.

I'm guessin amazon got like ... 20-30 lucinas. Maybe 50, but with the rate everyone was refreshing it may not even show up for that split second on most people's browsers.

I love amazon for this. Also it's worth checking their prices randomly because I pulled the US version of toad for 12.99 along with the GameCube adapter for 19.99 yesterday

So far I've been able to get them all but Lucina from Amazon. I just missed on her; she was in my cart and ready to checkout when she went out of stock.

After the whole Lucina thing, my eye right now is on Robin! If I don't get any of these amiibo, I will save up some more dollars for Splatoon.

Robin showed up to me but when clicked it didn't go into the cart. Anyway, its all quite insane and while frustrating I can't help but feel good for Nintendo that there is all this hype. With all the gloom about a failed Wii U amiibo is more popular than any PlayStation out there. Theyre selling like cupcakes. Imagine if they just stood there unwanted being a flop.
I got PAC Man, Wario, boy inkling, charizad.... So this was quite successful overall.

Got the three pack Splatoon, asked for the game and free squirt gun, which they hadn't unpacked yet because I was the first to ask for the game. When did amiibo become more important than the games they work with?

Very surprised that when I woke up at 730am UK time. So (23:30) PT, that I was able to order a silver Mario and get delivery to the UK. All together it cost £12.91. Delivery won't be till mid June, but I don't care. Got a brilliant amiibo. - I also recently imported a Toad amiibo as well from Japan as it was cheaper than buying from the UK.

I'm done with amiibo. This was the final straw. Until they make them readily available I can't do it.

While refreshing for lucina I never saw her appear but I did see one of the scalpers price increase by $10 and somehow go from 3 in stock to in stock with an estimated ship date later in the week (because they have to get it shipped to them first). Considering this happened at exactly the time lucina was reported to be released the scalpers got most of them. If this keeps up nintendo will lose a lot of fans. Stores around me are already not getting in the new waves of amiibo and if online is dominated by scalpers there's no way to get one. I've also tried to order international but nobody ships here. I don't know how people say they are.
So I'm just done.

@MailOrderNinja Yup! Why can Disney and Activision do it right and Nintendo can't? Its some silly marketing scheme. Isn't it weird that with each new wave its getting harder to find amiibo? First it took days for them to sell out and then the next wave took a couple of hours and the last one was gone in minutes.
