@Tandy255 That isn't a very fair comparison because it was the first time Nintendo used analog sticks. It wasn't until the GameCube when we got a more modern rendition of the analog sticks, and those have aged surprisingly well.
@YoshiF2 @MajinSoul Try taking a look at Age of Calamity. I believe that it has greatly improved on the voice acting as everyone was more familiar with their own characters.
@gcunit @Friendly To emphasize further on why he doesn't play BotW, think of it like this. He essentially would want to run through everything at once in this sort of "perfect run." Trying to continue after a pause makes you lose track of what you're doing, and now you're suddenly all over the place. I'd like to think Sean Chiplock prefers something a little more linear, which is why Age of Calamity worked out so much better for him, not to mention the fact that he had more lines in that game.
There's a lot of misinterpretation with many of the comments here. It seems like a lot of people are taking the term "same" way too literally. I'm pretty what the devs mean by "same" is being playable.
In this day and age, publishers don't care enough if their games get spoiled. They simply wait for the money to flow in from their distributors, regardless if the distributors are trustworthy or not.
@Ravenmaster The only problem that presents is that we'll probably end up seeing 720p-1080p assets being upscaled to 4k. It wouldn't really make much of a difference...
Right off the very first trailer, I had a feeling this wasn't going to run off peak performance on the Switch. Still, if reviews for this game are very high, it might still convince me to try this game.
My biggest fear with a "Super Mario Odyssey 2" is that it might follow down the footsteps of Galaxy 2. Yes, Galaxy 2 is more fun because the content is much more varied, but I'm generally afraid that world design is not going to be anywhere near as memorable, and that was the thing that felt very off in Galaxy 2. Having more levels adds diversity, but it also took away the feeling of being in a "galaxy" and just put you generic Mario stages with a few quirks in gravity.
One of the potential issues that stem from CoD ports is that today's CoD games, despite being designed to be widely optimizable thanks to PC versions, are very hardware intensive and storage-consuming. We would have to wait for a CoD game to be developed with the Switch in mind - most CoD games now are currently developed with the PS5 specs taken into priority.
It's hard to justify paying extra money for a service that frankly works better on third-party emulators. Nintendo has previously proven that they do have the resources to provide an emulator that does improve the game's quality outside of frame rate (looking at 3D All-Stars), but they are min-maxing the heck out of everything.
The DLC idea was cool in theory, but it hinges on that same mentality if renting vs buying games where you may be the type of person who wants to own it just in case if the random scenario that you do want to play it, or rent it because you know you won't revisit it.
Either she never took the time to research why people are calling her a "gold digger" or she truly is greedy and is incredibly arrogant thinking she can get Platinum cancelled over an issue that is frankly not much of an issue. The internet loves popular people, but they love reasonable people more.
@Nintendo_Thumb Yes and no. Nintendo has definitely seen the potential flaws if sticks were given y-axis movement, but most other games seem to do the complete opposite and not provide the option to lock the stick to the x directions.
@Zeldinion When using motion controls, the up/down camera movement is disabled, so the player is required to use motion controls to look up and down. What GreenFlash wants is full camera control with the right stick and being able to use motion controls at the same time.
You caused me to freak out when you said "biggest sale ever" when the discount rate is 0% greater than what Nintendo brought historically for the Switch.
@Dr_Luigi I'm still under convinced that Game Freak simply doesn't know how to use the Switch hardware to its fullest capabilities. The Pokémon Company did not seem to invest enough money into that area.
I believe that it's about time we see Wario make a return to a mainline Mario, as the last one iirc was Super Mario 64 DS. Ever since then, he has felt increasingly less associated with Mario other than the spinoffs.
It's very ironic. All three Splatoon games generated a lot of skeptism surrounding the level of success, but now we know that all three games are mega hit successes for Nintendo.
@Truegamer79 It does mess a bit with the art style of a game if there is a lower frame rate. For example, Bowser's Fury looked oddly inconsistent compared to base game 3D World and games like Odyssey or Galaxy, because it runs at 30fps and not 60fps
Thank you for compiling this information together. One of the initial problems was the lack of perspective, and everyone just sided with the original Bayo voice actress without doing a bit of research towards the industry and looking towards other notable actors and actresses. I hope this article is seen by everyone so we don't fall into this level of bias again.
@johnvboy The new netcode has unfortunately not been perfected yet, so disconnects are still pretty common. The game also has some weird latency issues, so people end up getting killed from "nothing" or 5 seconds after the event.
The game still has not patched some game-breaking glitches such as some weapons being able to attack from underneath platforms. Some weapons are still not properly functioning like the Tenta Brella in Salmon Run.
The game is amazing, but it has room for improvement.
@Liam_Doolan
It appears that Sean Chiplock has addressed this on Twitter due to an explosion of questions directed to him, and he explained what he currently experiences in his own work. Maybe should consider throwing it into this article?
I wasn't going to buy the game regardless, but man... it's situations like this that often end up being a double-edged sword on both sides of the spectrum.
I think it's fair that we start doing a bit of research into this situation before making judgements. However, I will say that it was pretty rude to discuss being recast in a passive-aggressive manner. Most actors end up pouring a lot of faith into their successors and go to blame the producers/developers instead.
@Browny To be fair, that assumption does ring true to some people, who rely on technology to run their everyday lives outside of just entertainment. Atlus is just taking a preventative measure to avoid a snowballing effect of spoilers, if that makes any sense.

Thanks for the rename. I'm genuinely surprised a lot of people took this as "bad news" as opposed to speculation.

Yes, but do keep in mind that Sean Chiplock also portrays Teba and the Great Deku Tree.

Re: Video: The Future Of Gaming Is Joy-Con Drift-Free
For as long as Nintendo keeps relying on software to "fix" drift, we won't ever get as high quality of controllers as we used to.
