Re: Revali Voice Actor Has "No Idea" If His Character Will Appear In Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom

To emphasize further on why he doesn't play BotW, think of it like this. He essentially would want to run through everything at once in this sort of "perfect run." Trying to continue after a pause makes you lose track of what you're doing, and now you're suddenly all over the place. I'd like to think Sean Chiplock prefers something a little more linear, which is why Age of Calamity worked out so much better for him, not to mention the fact that he had more lines in that game.

Re: Talking Point: Would You Prefer 'Super Mario Odyssey 2' Or A Totally New 3D Mario?

ModdedInkling

My biggest fear with a "Super Mario Odyssey 2" is that it might follow down the footsteps of Galaxy 2. Yes, Galaxy 2 is more fun because the content is much more varied, but I'm generally afraid that world design is not going to be anywhere near as memorable, and that was the thing that felt very off in Galaxy 2. Having more levels adds diversity, but it also took away the feeling of being in a "galaxy" and just put you generic Mario stages with a few quirks in gravity.

Re: Xbox Boss Phil Spencer Would Love To See Call Of Duty On Nintendo Switch

One of the potential issues that stem from CoD ports is that today's CoD games, despite being designed to be widely optimizable thanks to PC versions, are very hardware intensive and storage-consuming. We would have to wait for a CoD game to be developed with the Switch in mind - most CoD games now are currently developed with the PS5 specs taken into priority.

Re: Soapbox: After 10 Years I'm Finally Getting A Wii U, But Where Should I Start?

Games to go for:

  • Xenoblade Chronicles X
  • The Wind Waker HD
  • ZombiU
  • Star Fox Zero (if you believe you're able to get through the controls)
  • Star Fox Guard
  • Devil's Third
  • Any Virtual Console game not on Nintendo Switch Online (Wii games also count, if you don't have a specific Wii game)
  • Nintendo Land (for a party)
  • Wii Party U (for a party)
  • Super Smash Bros. 4 (it feels a little bit like a collect-a-thon)

Games to avoid:

  • Any of the games that were ported over to the Switch
  • Twilight Princess HD (I can elaborate why)
  • Splatoon (it's more of a novelty now)
  • Third-party games, especially shooter games (Call of Duty, Battlefield, etc.)

Re: Poll: Is The Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack Good Enough Value Yet?

ModdedInkling

It's hard to justify paying extra money for a service that frankly works better on third-party emulators. Nintendo has previously proven that they do have the resources to provide an emulator that does improve the game's quality outside of frame rate (looking at 3D All-Stars), but they are min-maxing the heck out of everything.

The DLC idea was cool in theory, but it hinges on that same mentality if renting vs buying games where you may be the type of person who wants to own it just in case if the random scenario that you do want to play it, or rent it because you know you won't revisit it.

Re: Splatoon 3 Is Already The Best-Selling Video Game Of 2022 In Japan

@johnvboy
The new netcode has unfortunately not been perfected yet, so disconnects are still pretty common. The game also has some weird latency issues, so people end up getting killed from "nothing" or 5 seconds after the event.

The game still has not patched some game-breaking glitches such as some weapons being able to attack from underneath platforms. Some weapons are still not properly functioning like the Tenta Brella in Salmon Run.

The game is amazing, but it has room for improvement.

Re: Bayonetta's OG Voice Actor Asks Fans To "Boycott" Third Game After PlatinumGames Wage Fallout

I wasn't going to buy the game regardless, but man... it's situations like this that often end up being a double-edged sword on both sides of the spectrum.

I think it's fair that we start doing a bit of research into this situation before making judgements. However, I will say that it was pretty rude to discuss being recast in a passive-aggressive manner. Most actors end up pouring a lot of faith into their successors and go to blame the producers/developers instead.
