This has been a must buy for me ever since seeing the trailer and online play. You guys could have given it a 2 and I'd still download, but this review definitely sealed the deal. I'm gonna check this out when I'm done exploring Radiation Island
I would at least give the game a 5/10, and this review doesn't even address the game's biggest fault, which is simply collision detection. They also didn't mention the 3 difficulty settings, one of which turns off all combat, allowing you to just explore the island, knock down trees, and complete your objectives safely. You can also play in 3rd person by pressing the right stick. For a mobile ported open world game, I think it's kinda gorgeous at times, and it runs at 60fps! I'd recommend it to open world fans who know they aren't too hard to please. I'm going to post some screens in the screenshot thread when I get home.
I noticed this 2 days ago and I love it. I love that they require you to write a review and I wish every website did this so people can't troll the ratings. You also have to have played the game for 2 hours. They don't seem to be screening the reviews very closely either, as I've seen some duplicates already and some really lousy ones ("I am just typing to fill up 50 characters. Game was ok"). Hopefully this means it's coming to Switch to help us not buy games like Infinite Minigolf.
They really need to update the 3DS Netflix app and make it work more than 50% of the time. Seems so pointless to update the Wii U one when the 3DS is still an active platform, and that app has been half broken for 6 years.
I'm kinda turned off by it because I'd rather have a web browser where I can just login to NintendoLife and get my news in a better way. I like that each game has their own channel so that you can be on top of game updates, but having had Miiverse before, this just feels like that but without the fun.
It's good to see more kid focused games. I loved licensed games as a kid and didn't realize any of them were terrible until recently. Batman and Robin for the Genesis was my shiiiit
Awesome! I recommend everyone download the 3DS demos if you want to see how this game plays. It had some of the best visuals on the 3DS tbh so I expect this to look really pretty on Switch.
Finally has it's first great horror game? Resident Evil is a great horror game, albeit with a lot of action elements. This looks good but it aint the first! You betta recognize NL!
Sure I want it on Switch, but the game doesn't look like it would be easy to port, so I believe them. I just hope we get a MH announcement for the west soon. I don't want one of the 3DS games ported though. I don't care if the game looks like an HD 3DS game, I just want a new game or I'm not going to care.
@Fuz It's almost like they know some of us will buy it twice because we collect physical games -_-...I've gotten in the habit of not buying eShop games that I think will get a physical release like Stardew Valley. But that's just me as I don't really mind waiting months, even years to play most games.
I honestly wish it cost whatever Sony and Microsoft charge. Knowing Nintendo this will be a way for them to get away with not having a great selection of games. Meanwhile I don't think they are going to offer their classic games like they have in the past with Virtual Console. By the time this launches they will have had a year and a half, so the lineup better be good if this is replacing virtual console or I'll be salty and not impressed.
I think they could honestly do so much more with 3DS in inexpensive & relatively simple ways. Virtual Console and Streetpass being two areas with potential. Oh and 3D, but they seem to have given up on that. I have both a Switch and a New 3DS and I honestly prefer to bring my 3DS out and about with me because it's smaller and more comfortable to play on the train and bus. I prefer to use my Switch at home because I like to see pretty graphics on a big screen. The Switch would be more compelling as a portable with a web browser tbh. Then I would probably leave my tablet at home because I don't do anything but browse the web and watch video on it. C' mon Nintendo... the longer they take to do these simple things, the more money left on the table imo. Thank god for Pokemon, because I believe the sales of the GBC Pokemon games have really made an impact on the life of the 3DS and potentially GBA virtual console. But Nintendo takes too long to realize obvious things sometimes and act on them...<3<3
Not surprising. My love notwithstanding, Nintendo has a reputation of severe bigheadedness and seemingly being different for different's sake. Many of their decisions make no sense or go against the grain just for the sake of going against the grain.
Just Mario Tennis and Dark Souls for me, and we really need info on the online service and virtual console, so that was disappointing to still have no time frame on that.
Seems kind of strange to me. My android phone is about as old as the iPhone 5, and they aren't dropping support for it. iPhone in general usually run games better than the equivalent Android model, and the 5 isn't very old. Whatever, I didn't play this game past the first summer it was released.
Been a volleyball player my whole life so I have to check this out. Beach Spikers for the Gamecube is, and probably always will be the best volleyball game.
I always thought she seemed cute and nice. It's not her fault she grew up privileged, but I like her. For 1 she is clearly a Nintendo fan, and 2 she used to hang out with Brandy, who I've met and is one of the nicest people.
@lillith you are really late lol. Podcasts are more popular now than ever before. Listening to things never goes out of style. I'll check it out but the idea of a podcast run by Nintendo themselves is about as alluring as Nintendo Minute. I'll probably just stick to the Power Pros podcast for my weekly Nintendo podcast fix.

Re: Radiation Island
The visuals in this game are really nice to look at for a $10 game. Game definitely aint bad either.
Re: Netflix Gets An Update, But Not On The Console You Were Perhaps Expecting

Looks great. Love the environments, something I found really lacking in Fast Racing Neo and Thumper obv
Re: Guide: How Does PAYDAY 2 On Switch Compare To Other Console Versions?
I'm getting this. If the game sells well it will definitely get future DLC. If it doesn't sell well then forget it.
Re: Urban Trial Playground Is A Gnarly Bike Stunt Game And It'll Land Exclusively On Switch
Awesome! I recommend everyone download the 3DS demos if you want to see how this game plays. It had some of the best visuals on the 3DS tbh so I expect this to look really pretty on Switch.
Re: Review: Monster Energy Supercross - The Official Videogame (Switch)
I'd get this if it had online multiplayer. I'm not buying any game that takes out the online for a Switch release.

Both Spyro and Crash remasters are must buys for me if they come to Switch.
Re: The Simply Named 'Pool' Becomes The Third Pool-Based Game Released On Switch In Just Two Weeks
None of the 3 have online multiplayer so I'll pass. If someone releases a pool game with online then I might bite if it's <$15
Re: THQ Nordic Acquires Deep Silver Owner Koch Media In $150 Million Deal
I love seeing this new THQ make good business decisions and continue to grow, all while supporting Switch!

Re: Features and Release Window Revealed For Nintendo Switch Exclusive Shelter Generations
I'm interested but this looks like the kind of game that will be $20-25 and digital only, which I'm not much interested in.
Re: SteamWorld Dig 2 Will Dig A Path To Nintendo 3DS On 22nd February
Awesome and unexpected news. Love my 3DS and I'd rather play this kind of 2D games on there, in 3D if possible!
Re: Rejoice, Soon You'll Be Able To Use Your My Nintendo Gold Points On The Switch eShop
Awesome! Hopefully they keep offering 3DS and Wii U games for a small price on My Nintendo, as I've gotten a few 3DS gems from there.
Re: Nintendo Switch Will Up The Horror Ante When Layers Of Fear: Legacy Arrives 21st Feb
If it's decent I might download it when it goes on sale. Otherwise I'm not really interested unless there's a physical release

Re: SteamWorld Dig 2 Is Getting A Physical Release With Extra Goodies
It's dumb to not bring the whole 3 game collection physically and charge a little more.
Re: Design Your Own Cardboard Creations With Nintendo Labo's Toy-Con Garage
This continues to just be really cool. The whole thing feels like Nintendo at their best.

Re: Random: Dragon Ball FighterZ On Low PC Settings Gives Us Hope That A Switch Port Could Happen
This game is coming to the Switch, let's not kid ourselves. Now give me Call of Duty (with zombies)!
Re: Rollercoaster Tycoon Could Be Coming To The Switch
Came in hoping this was a virtual console release or something. Not interested in a brand new game that only needs $10,000 worth of funding. What?!
Re: Nintendo Applies For New Animal Crossing Trademark in Japan, Switch Game On The Way?
I would be excited for this if I didn't know Nintendo will severely gimp any online fun this series could have...
