Re: Review: Ace Of Seafood (Switch eShop)

McGruber

This has been a must buy for me ever since seeing the trailer and online play. You guys could have given it a 2 and I'd still download, but this review definitely sealed the deal. I'm gonna check this out when I'm done exploring Radiation Island

Re: Review: Radiation Island (Switch eShop)

I would at least give the game a 5/10, and this review doesn't even address the game's biggest fault, which is simply collision detection. They also didn't mention the 3 difficulty settings, one of which turns off all combat, allowing you to just explore the island, knock down trees, and complete your objectives safely. You can also play in 3rd person by pressing the right stick. For a mobile ported open world game, I think it's kinda gorgeous at times, and it runs at 60fps! I'd recommend it to open world fans who know they aren't too hard to please. I'm going to post some screens in the screenshot thread when I get home.

Re: You Can Now Leave User Reviews On Nintendo's Official Website

McGruber

I noticed this 2 days ago and I love it. I love that they require you to write a review and I wish every website did this so people can't troll the ratings. You also have to have played the game for 2 hours. They don't seem to be screening the reviews very closely either, as I've seen some duplicates already and some really lousy ones ("I am just typing to fill up 50 characters. Game was ok"). Hopefully this means it's coming to Switch to help us not buy games like Infinite Minigolf.

Re: The Nintendo Switch News Channel Took Almost A Year To Create

McGruber

I'm kinda turned off by it because I'd rather have a web browser where I can just login to NintendoLife and get my news in a better way. I like that each game has their own channel so that you can be on top of game updates, but having had Miiverse before, this just feels like that but without the fun.

Re: Look, Capcom Knows You Really Want Monster Hunter World On Switch

McGruber

Sure I want it on Switch, but the game doesn't look like it would be easy to port, so I believe them. I just hope we get a MH announcement for the west soon. I don't want one of the 3DS games ported though. I don't care if the game looks like an HD 3DS game, I just want a new game or I'm not going to care.

Re: Nintendo Switch Online Service Will Go Live This September

McGruber

I honestly wish it cost whatever Sony and Microsoft charge. Knowing Nintendo this will be a way for them to get away with not having a great selection of games. Meanwhile I don't think they are going to offer their classic games like they have in the past with Virtual Console. By the time this launches they will have had a year and a half, so the lineup better be good if this is replacing virtual console or I'll be salty and not impressed.

Re: Kimishima Talks Nintendo’s 3DS Strategy Going Forward

McGruber

I think they could honestly do so much more with 3DS in inexpensive & relatively simple ways. Virtual Console and Streetpass being two areas with potential. Oh and 3D, but they seem to have given up on that. I have both a Switch and a New 3DS and I honestly prefer to bring my 3DS out and about with me because it's smaller and more comfortable to play on the train and bus. I prefer to use my Switch at home because I like to see pretty graphics on a big screen. The Switch would be more compelling as a portable with a web browser tbh. Then I would probably leave my tablet at home because I don't do anything but browse the web and watch video on it. C' mon Nintendo... the longer they take to do these simple things, the more money left on the table imo. Thank god for Pokemon, because I believe the sales of the GBC Pokemon games have really made an impact on the life of the 3DS and potentially GBA virtual console. But Nintendo takes too long to realize obvious things sometimes and act on them...<3<3

Re: Pokémon GO Is Dropping Support For Older iPhones

McGruber

Seems kind of strange to me. My android phone is about as old as the iPhone 5, and they aren't dropping support for it. iPhone in general usually run games better than the equivalent Android model, and the 5 isn't very old. Whatever, I didn't play this game past the first summer it was released.

Beware the online is fundamentally broken in this game.

Re: Nintendo Launches Official Nintendo Power Podcast

McGruber

@lillith you are really late lol. Podcasts are more popular now than ever before. Listening to things never goes out of style. I'll check it out but the idea of a podcast run by Nintendo themselves is about as alluring as Nintendo Minute. I'll probably just stick to the Power Pros podcast for my weekly Nintendo podcast fix.
