Not sure how I feel about it. As long as its smaller than the gamepad, I like the idea of a screen in the controller. I hope that means backwards compatibility. But this half step between a true hybrid console just sounds like it will hurt the sales of their actual handheld line. Hmm

Nothing new here , but I'm definitely glad it is getting ported to NX. I gave up on Wii U a long time ago (feels like a long time anyway). Also, this explains why we have Linkle in the 3DS version of Hyrule Warriors

I need to go pick this game up immediately. I wanted to buy it but this is the type of game that needs multi-player. It's why I have no interest in buying Star Fox Wii U. They had online in the DS game...

I like it. The lack of ways to add friends is the biggest gripe I have. You also can't send invites.

Why haven't you guys reviewed this? My favorite thing about this website has always been that it reviews almost literally EVERY game released for 3DS. I noticed you are still doing reviews for very low budget eShop titles, so why not one of the few remaining "big budget" retail games for 3DS? Sorry if I sound like I'm nitpicking, I'm just concerned! McGruber out!

I love stories like this. I miss going to Blockbuster and renting games! I love how they somehow had exclusives. My favorite as a kid was the Beast Wars game that is now also rare and expensive because it was a BB exclusive. I must have rented that thing 10x.

I was a Platinum member of Club Nintendo for several years and I haven't received any emails from Nintendo. I really hope Nintendo gives us some credit for our past eShop purchases, since My Nintendo already lists them under your account info.

I really hope this comes to the US. I enjoyed 1 & 2 more than the DS Pokemon games. My guess is it depends on whether FF Explorers and more importantly Dragon Quest sell well here.

My hat goes off to him. I am happy to say I was #teamreal and #teamsad. Still, in the process of this hoax, a few journalists and developers apparently stated that it at least matched what they have been hearing, which is NO BUTTONS 😢. We want real buttons Nintendo!! The past few days have had me looking at my New 3DS with much sadness....

This makes me sad. Like the New 3DS is the last great system by Nintendo sad. Like I am growing out of gaming sad. They could have made a controller shaped like a penis and I would have bought it as long as it had buttons. No buttons for me means they need to blow me away with the games , and for me that includes vast 3rd party support.

If this is the NX controller, and if the NX controller doesn't have every button a pro controller does, then I'll be pissed. It's extremely ugly as well. The New 3DS will then have to be my last Nintendo system at least until they release another more traditional one...

Awesome! I love the names and logos. I am glad it's not another me-too entry, which never excited me. I hope this time they can have 3D throughout the game on the New 3DS, but it's Nintendo so I'm not holding my breath. Can't wait.

Honestly no, I liked the original games (Moon as well) because they were just that, ORIGINAL. My advice to them is to finally produce another original FPS. What happened to Cult County? They were recently saying their sales were lackluster for these ports. If those sales were bad, a 3rd entry is only going to be worse. Make a 3D FPS set in a blizzard! THAT would be awesome on 3DS!

I think this is awesome. The chances sound like good ones to me, and I'm happy they left same sex marriage in there. As a non-straight gamer who just went through a breakup, I'm strangely excited to have my character in what will be my favorite 3DS game, marry a dude.

Awesome! I want to get the newest DBZ fighter for 3DS but I am really bummed it doesn't have online play. Gonna pick it up soon tho. Please god let this be localized. DBZ Attack of the Saiyans was a dream come true for me as an RPG fan and DBZ fan! Great game.

@gatorboi352 I take issue with what you said to @RCMADIAX. First of all, indie games are nowhere NEAR the Wii U's biggest problem. Secondly, you should thank indies like that guy for putting something on a console that was dead before it even shipped to stores. I downloaded 1 of their games when I had a Wii U (long since gotten rid of it), and I enjoyed it quite a bit for the 1 or 2 dollars I spent. So thanks @RCMADIAX for supporting Nintendo. I'd rather you made your games for 3DS though, since I do have that system and love it so

Nintendo needs to do a hell of a lot better appealing to gamers not from Japan in general. Nothing will change until the NX, and only if they finally learned their lessons with everything from 3rd parties to controllers, to online infrastructure, and actually putting online modes in games that need them (STAR FU**ING FOX!). It's not really a marketing problem, although better marketing could certainly at least help them appeal to young kids again.

I think this is great for gaming, and Nintendo especially to be included.

I would love to play it, but I don't care at all because I sold my Wii U a long time ago. I am hoping the NX is backwards compatible with Wii U software so that I can play the few games I missed like Splattoon, etc.

This game looks interesting. A very rare obscure title that got a physical release in the US. Can't wait for the review.

While e3 was depressing, I was very happy with this direct. There are actually a lot of things I want to play in 2016 (never thought I'd say this) on 3DS!

@thomasbw84 Thanks so much for the article. The diskless console idea is the only thing I worry Nintendo will do. I for one see much more value in physical media. My downloads are worth nothing to me other than the fun they provide.

They don't seem to be interested in selling Wii U's anymore. Their focus is on software and making the Wii U owners somewhat happy until the next console. I just hope the next console has PHYSICAL games as well as digital. Without physical games, Nintendo's retail presence will be even smaller, and the value of the games I buy, in my mind, will seriously decline.

Can't we just expedite this process and kill the Wii U now? Give me a Nintendo system with some actual games (3rd party included!) and I will pay $400 or whatever I have to!

Disappointed. Most of us have these games already if we are Platinum members. I would have been happy if ANY of the Pokemon games were included as I don't have those yet.

Well I definitely won't be downloading, because who in their right mind downloads retail games. Especially games that will undoubtedly be worth 2x as much in a few short years. ESPECIALLY given Nintendo's beyond archaic account system. But then again, some people just like simple convenience and don't mind paying more for less...

I am definitely buying this. The review said it has some impressive visuals for a download game, but I'd argue the visuals are some of the most impressive on the system as a whole by those screenshots!

@taffy Wow this doesn't include digital? When I read the headline I thought it had to be combined. It has been as low as $5.00 I believe in NA eShop. So is this in the top 2 selling third party 3DS games??

I wish Nintendo would buy Capcom. I love the series Capcom owns more than any other studio (I'm a RE fan). This was my first 3DS game, and remains one of the best on the system IMO. I think it might even have been the first online 3DS game. From day 1 the online play was smooth and never needed a patch. I miss the days of OK third party support on Nintendo systems ..
