I have nearly all of them, but I don't have Yoshi. I'd take that… if I could actually log on and have CN recognize my Platinum status. Or log in at all for that matter. Sometimes shows me as logged in, but doesn't even show my name… or any of my info. Tried for two weeks to finish a survey. Never worked. Says I'm not Platinum, even though I am. Won't show my accrual. Just pathetic.

Guess I'm going with Yoshi since it's the only retail game I don't have. Meh. Could've been better. Tropical Freeze is the only one that jumps out at me as a nice deal but I'm sure most platinum members already have that

Darn, I already own 70% of the games listed as rewards on one platform or another. I guess It's between Yoshi's New Island or DKC: Tropical Freeze.

Looks like I'll never get Kirby Triple Deluxe as a reward or download sale. So much for wishful thinking.

Disappointed. Most of us have these games already if we are Platinum members. I would have been happy if ANY of the Pokemon games were included as I don't have those yet.

Probably Tropical Freeze, considering it's the better deal price wise. Always kinds liked DK platformers over Mario anyway, though the galaxy games may be a slight exception to that rule.

Whatever happened to the cool physical rewards from a couple years ago? This was actually quite disappointing, I was hoping for some kind of amiibo or something. Oh well, guess I'll just get Mario Party since that's the only one I don't have.

I understand your sentiment.... but both Microsoft and Sony give away multiple games for free every month, if you're subscribed to their services. Which is a good deal in the end. No, nintendo doesn't have to give us anything, but it just seems silly to give these games as rewards to people who probably already bought them to qualify for these rewards.

I've got it narrowed down to Galaxy 2 and Tropical Freeze from this list. Not too fond of the first Mario Galaxy, but I still want to give its sequel a fair shot. So that may be what I download. Kinda wish Prime Trilogy was on this list though, but I can't really complain too much I guess.

A physical reward would have been nice, too, but I honestly tend to prefer the game downloads to those since it allows me to get an extra game or two for playing Nintendo's games. I just wish the list of downloads was more extensive in North America. Or maybe if we had the option to convert coins into eshop credit. Well, those complaints are irrelevant now that they're scraping Club Nintendo- hopefully the successor does something to address that!

I might get Pushmo World then.

Actually, I've decided that with my rather large backlog (which includes every single Fire Emblem game) and my limited interest in these games, whoever wants a free Platinum or Gold code gets it. My copy of AC NL is ye to be openned. But Tropical Freeze is frustratingly fun to fulfillingly fun when you finally beat a difficult stage/boss.

Ugh. I have all of the games offered that interest me. I don't have the 3DS Mario Party, but don't want it. I don't have Mario Golf, but history has shown me I get bored of any and all golf games after the new wears off. I was hoping Mario Tennis for 3DS would be an option. I really enjoy those on console. Or the new Mario vs Donkey Kong. Or any of the recent Pokemon games as I only have one of those... Oh well. I may get a code for something to give to one of my nieces or nephews.

Anyone and everyone who hit Platinum status now has the opportunity to get DKC Tropical Freeze, one of the greatest video games ever made, for free.

And honestly, they're offering full retail Wii U titles for free, just for being a customer of Nintendo. I don't see any leeway for compaining here. But seriously people go with Tropical Freeze. That game is better than anything else I played last year, with the exception of perhaps Bayonetta 2 (both of them rank in my favorite games of all time list).

Mario Kart 7 for me! It would have been nice for Platinum members to get 1 game form the Platinum list and one for the Gold but again we are getting full retail games so I'm happy

I'm honestly extremely disappointed by the 3DS rewards. I own every single one of them that even vaguely interests me aside from Animal Crossing, and that's still not too high on my list of games I want to get. The only 3DS reward I really care about is Mario Deluxe, and that costs like...5 dollars?

I'll PROBABLY get Mario Golf, but I play so much more on my Wii U than 3DS. I'm temped by NES Remix 2, but of all the platinum offerings, it's the least bang for my buck. And I'm thinking about Mario Kart 7, but with Mario Kart 8 on my Wii U, I doubt I'd ever play the inferior handheld one...

Ultimate is basically a slender combined NES 1 and 2. If you want it on 3DS, or if you want it as a single game, that is the one you want. If you want 100% of every level, you should get both independent, but that also is using your Plat on a $15 game.

I'll echo what others have already said. If you don't have Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, get it! IMO it's the best game on the list.....too bad I already have it.

Its exactly the same as the disc. Your save data in Wii mode will even carry over.

Tropical freeze for me. It's the only game I don't have that I actually want. I'll call it a win.

You'll get it, it just takes time to learn the mechanics of running, jumping, roll-jumping (including mid air roll-jumps) and in the case of Rambi- charging. You can also nerf the difficulty yourself by bringing green balloons for when you fall, banana juice for invincibility, and barrels of Dixie/Diddy/Cranky, as well as an assortment of other helpful items. Another way to nerf difficulty is to collect 100 bananas with Dixie Kong and perform a Kong-POW when you get as many enemies on screen as possible. It turns them all into gold hearts that buff your normal hearts with an extra hits worth of damage taking.

So 2 hearts for you, 2 for buddy partner, plus 3 barrels (which can be use when you're down to final heart) means 13 hits before dying, and that's not including Kong POWs or barrels/hearts found in the stage.

I suppose I'll finally get Yoshi's New Island. Not sure how many blocks I have left on my 3DS, however, so that might be a problem.

I thought for sure they would have included all the current digital rewards with the Elite rewards? My fallback plan was Wonderful 101....oh well.

Where's that Nintendo Direct?

Agh. I'm stuck between MK7, Yoshi's New Island, and Tropical Freeze.
I heard New Yoshi was a disgrace to the series, but I loved the original yoshi's island.
Mk7 I could probably find somewhere for cheap, although it's a game I don't own yet.
And I bought tropical freeze a while back to try it for the first time, but I ended up returning it because it was sorta challenging for me.
Like damn, so many discisions.. /:
Any advice?

When I signed in I received a notification telling me I had reached platinum status and I could select a gift. After finally getting signed in and to the page for the reward I want it says: "Sorry this reward is only available to 2015 platinum members."

Oh it's timeless. There's so much more there than what you see on the surface too. Deep and precise mechanics with expertly designed stages (right down to the placement of each and every enemy). You don't truly come to appreciate its brilliance until you've mastered the mechanics and dipped your toes into the time trials mode. You learn of shortcuts and secrets that can only be taken advantage of with great skill (like rolling off a tiny ledge and jumping from mid air, bouncing off an owl's head over a pit and landing in a barrel on the other side of the stage).

I've got time trials that would drop your jaw. Like, competitive on a global level (held 2nd fastest damage-free run in the world for the hardest temple in the game for a long time).

In fact, I may record a few of my top runs and upload to YT and link the vids in a thread here. I think it would help people see the extreme nuances of the level design and enemy placement.

EDIT: Also note there's time trial video uploads and sharing. So all your friends can view your time runs, and you can view theirs. You can also view the top 10 runs and learn from them to help you get faster.

I was only 5 coins away from Platinum status. Smh :/

But whatever. Guess I'll go with one of the Zelda Oracle games. When the site will work for me, that is.

Time running DKC is an art form, it really is. I've never seen a more perfect game with pinpoint precision mechanics and expertly crafted stages and so many high-skill-demanding shortcuts to shave a few seconds off in my life.

Club Nintendo keeps telling me that my reward has already been redeemed even though I haven't been able to do so yet. Anyone else have this problem?

I like how a lot of people are calling it a weak list because they have most of the games already. So they offered a bunch of games you considered worthy of paying for, yet it's somehow a weak list? I already have the Platinum rewards except for Ultimate NES Remix and Mario Kart 7. I'm more than happy with either one.

The only platnum one I don't have is mario party, but it doesn't really appeal to me. Might get dk tropical freeze and trade in my copy if my girlfriend doesn't want mk7

And you reminded me I did have a problem w/ the Rambi controls as his charge was his run button, or run was jump, something wasn't working right for my fingers. Maybe I'll just let my 10 year old do it if we get it

You just wanna constantly tap charge for Rambi to get you through that one. Also, time charges close to edge so speed carries across jump and you don't fall short of a leap.

I have Platinum and was wondering if somebody wanted a platinum game for a gold game and a n64 game or wii VC game.

It is telling me that only gold and platinum members can get the gift, but I am platinum. ahhh haha craziness

I want to get either Mario Golf or DKC:TF, though I'm kinda leaning towards Mario Golf depending on the size of DK.

Edit: Just found out how much GB the game needed, looks like I'll get Mario Golf instead. I can always just get the game at a later point either used/new or I get a larger hard drive. Now time to play the waiting game with the site.

@Captain_Toad Aww man, tough one. I have Golf and I can assure you, it's excellent. Online is perfect and the dlc courses make it even better. I'm obligated to Animal Crossing because its the only game up there i don't have. But, Nintendolife scored it a 9 so, either way, you can't go wrong with these two. Basically, it comes down to, what are you in the mood for?

@Paintfrog Between the two Zeldas, I've always preferred Ages over Seasons. As for Pushmo/Crashmo, I own both but Pushmo is the first, and it might not be a bad idea to start with that just to get a feel for it and see if you'd be interested in moving on with the sequel. You really can't go wrong with any of them for to be honest.

The only thing I don't own already and that I'm remotely interested in, is DK:TF, so I guess that's my pick ... not the most varied list one could imagine though.

Now I can't decide between Mario Golf or Mario bros. 2, those are the only two options I have since Mario Party isn´t good for solo play, and I have the rest of 3ds rewards. I'm not fan of sports games, particularly not golf. Is SMB2 good? Or should I pick M Golf?

I wish they would have given Kid Icarus.

@Isaggi I think there is still a demo available for Mario Golf on the eShop. Since there's still plenty of time between now and when the codes stop being valid, it may not be a bad idea for you to give the game a try on your own to see if it's something you'd respond well to.

I know the rest of the game is hard, but I think all those ballons and things would help get me thru, but nothing was working on that section.

@NoEasyBuckets I think it is feeling like instead of going out with a bang, Club Nintendo has barely let out a wimper. I was hoping with all the time they had they would have produced something more unique for Platinum holders than putting a bunch of older games on a list.

They could have easily put out something unreleased for the US like Disaster: Day of Crisis, Another Code R for Wii (via eShop) or created something unique like a VS Nintendo collection. Heck, even offer low production stuff like Fire Emblem for Wii. Instead they were lazy and just offered existing things to people that mostly already owned them.

So I am not really mad about what they did (there is something I don't own on the list), but disappointed by what they could have done.

These rewards are awesome! I was actually pretty upset I didn't make Platinum for the first time since I started using CN but who cares! The gold rewards are awesome for once, Advance Wars and Mario & Luigi! Wish I could have been Platinum for DKC:TF since I've been eyeing that game for awhile, but I won't complain.

Great selection. Unfortuantly, I have most of these games. I'm not interested in single player party games that suck, golf games, or (don't hate me) Animal Crossing. Ah well, I'll just get Yoshi's New Island.

Even though I hear it's not that hot, Yoshi's New Island will be my bittersweet farewell to Club Nintendo as it rides off into the sunset.

@rushiosan Nintendo offers only one retail Wii U game compared to 7 3ds retail games is the problem. And I done own Tropical Freeze retail disc so there really isn't anything for Wii U only owers to pickup. Because if I wanted any of the VC games for wii u I would have done purchased them or will purchase them they are not worth wasting platinum status on a old $5 vc game.

Even though the site is being hammered right now, I was able to pickup my reward. Once I got to the login screen I had to wait about a minute for it to login. From there I was able to select the game I wanted, confirm, and get the Wario page. To that I just went back a page, tried again, same thing. Back and forth a few times and I was able to finally get an eShop code.

I have all the Platinum games, except for NES remix 2 (I have the first one), and which I'm not really interested. The Gold games' choices are just too underwhelming and not "valuable" enough for all the effort and Club Nintendo's last hurrah.

@SwaveSays just keep trying. I finally got it to go. It's annoying that it's 3 clicks to finish an order as it bombed out on the last screen multiple times before finally working.

@Tazcat2011 I's had three devices trying to log me in for an hour now. The closest I got to getting it was it telling me I reached Platinum, then telling me I didn't when I tried to get the game. This is utterly frustrating. I really hope the new program actually works.

@TheAceofMystery I got the same message and called them, I'm in NA BTW. I was told it's server issues and to keep trying. I did and it finally worked. The rep told me if the issue persisted (week or more after website traffic slowed) to call them back and they would escalate it. It finally worked after multiple attempts.

Kinda disappointed they didn't offer Wind Waker HD since the only two I can get out of all of these is Yoshi's New Island or Pushmo World.

@SwaveSays it really is annoying. It was also bad back in Feb when they released the last of the rewards for North America. I hope they add additional capacity for whatever version is next.

@Tazcat2011 Nintendo's "please understand" politeness only goes so far too. Please understand that all I want to do is sign into your service for the literal amount of one minute to redeem a code before signing out and it's nearly impossible to do.

@TheAceofMystery it took me about 6hrs total I think. What I did was log out and try the process all over form the beginning. It was very frustrating as sometimes it would not have my platinum status or the site would time out etc.

@StraTTtheRipper I finally got in to a point where it actually recognized I had a status, told me I had a platinum reward to redeem, go for DKCRTF, tells me I already redeemed it. I wish that were the case, because then I would have gotten an email with a code and one less headache.

I'll get DK: Tropical Freeze. I never could justify spending $60 for the game, and now I don't have to. I got DKC Returns 3D last year. As a general rule, I never "buy" retail downloads.

I've clicked the "redeem gift" button a half dozen times now. Site just keeps hanging, and it's 3am!

Now I regret getting NewSMB2 for 600 coins, instead of "Star Fox 64 3D." (This is just like when I got "Kirby's Super Star" from Club Nintendo, shortly before they announced the game is included in "Kirby's Dream Collection.)
None of the other games interest me much, besides "Yoshi's New Island," and "NES Ultimate Remix." I don't have a WiiU yet, so I can't get the WiiU games.

@ted-k I've got a PNY 128Gb USB3 flash drive plugged into the back of my Wii-U. A little pricey, but It works great. Whatever, I wrote it off as a school expense anyway... Buying a USB3 drive ensures you'll get max USB2 transfer rate, even though the Wii-U is USB2 only. The internal memory is flash so Nintendo is being paranoid about flash not being reliable because people will buy cheap knock off brands on the internet.

It's not like a PC. There's no swap file or anything to wear out the write cycles, and large games get written to the drive and are read-only afterwords, except the save file and update data. I recommend keeping your disc saves in the internal memory and downloadable games on the USB.

Also to those of you not getting their download codes yesterday, I gave up trying to log in late last night around 4am. Nintendo sent me an email containing my download code for DK Tropical Freeze around 7:25am. It's 11,066Mb! Took me 4 hours to download and install, LOL. DK Tropical Freeze is a good game, just not $60 good, so I was happy to get it for free.

I think I'll take my chances with a flash drive and download Tropical Freeze, and just keep the save files on internal storage as you recommended. Just like you said, it's not a game I would've paid full price for but I'm really happy to get it for free!

All in all I've gotten Pokemon X, Pikmin 3, Game and Wario, Mario 3D Land, and now Tropical Freeze plus a ton of virtual console games from Club Nintendo. I know a lot of people complained about it but for me it was great.

@JaxonH - Well I think the kids and I have decided on Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, I like RPGs and they like humour.

Oh and you made a good choice. That was my favorite Advance game on the system. I went with Mario Party for my daughter. My son has more then enough games and I either had them all or really didn't want any of the rest.

@Spoony_Tech - You were about the 3rd comment on the review last year when it hit VC on Wii U and thats what you said, best GBA game, good enough for me. I kind of feel bad passing up a $30 disc game - DKCTF - for an $8 DL, but Id rather laugh than cry. And curse, lots of cursing when I rented TF for 5 days. Loud angry cursing. My sons a big platforming fan but even he's had his fill of Rambi.

Anyway, I went with Yoshi's New Island because it was the only one here I didn't already have or had any interest in buying at some point. I would have gotten Mario Golf, but I just so happened to have used my Amazon gift card on it a couple days ago so no point in having 2 of them.

Looks like I have to delete my Pokemon Y game to make room... God I hate SD card space on these things, ad it's too expensive for me to upgrade right now.

Got a friend's account to Platinum, so used that to get Tropical Freeze digitally, trading in my physical copy from the last Black Friday deal at Best Buy to nab two sets of Mario Kart 8 DLC bundles (for our Wii U and his). Now to decide what I want from our Platinum, and while there are better deals price-wise, considering how infrequently I can get my folks to multiplayer, leaning toward Ultimate NES Remix.
Have New Leaf and the Wii-releases, and behind them would personally be Mario Kart 7 (first-person? on New 3DS?!), but it's on sale for $21 USD, so may as well go with said friend's offhand suggestion, right?

Speaking of those sales, might will prolly get Golden Sun again! (The Game Boy Player ain't hooked up in the living room, after all.)

EDIT: Hrm, seems I didn't get the Famicom 3DS theme, even though it's still offered in the splash image and game page in the eShop. Eh, I hafta call Ninty up anyways. Oh, and mentioned Golden Sun in part because, now I have to decide what to spend these dark 200 (well, 215...) coins on! If only I'd EarthBounded...

When I saw the Platinum rewards, I thought with such disappointment, "But I already have almost every game I'm interested in on here!" I ended up going with Mario Galaxy 2, since I want a physical copy of Tropical Freeze, if ever I do buy it, and Crashmo and Metroid Fusion are cheaper than Galaxy 2.
