Re: Nintendo Shares More Info About The Multiplayer In Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Mamabear

@jedikitty Nintendo online service is tied to the account user not the Switch itself. For example I have my Switch and online service so I can play online. My wife has a user account on my switch but cannot play online using her user since she doesn’t have the online service. I can play online on her new Switch that has my account linked since I have online service. She still has to buy the membership to play online. If you have 2 people who want to play online go with the family online service since it’s cheaper than buying 2 individual memberships.
In regards to local co-op if you’re playing on the same console you’re good with the one person having online service but if you’re playing in the same room on different Switches you will both need online service subscriptions to get play together.

Re: Analysts Agree That Switch Will Be King In 2020, Less Sure About The Switch Pro

Mamabear

I think if Switch Lite has shown anything it’s that “Switch” will still sell and sell well without the features associated with the main model- handheld/ home console, cutting down on how awesome the joy cons can be, cutting down on local multiplayer which is a huge marketing feature for Switch.

I think a”Switch Pro” will be another example of cutting back on the “Switch” experience. Probably by making it a docked only/ home only console. It’s smart in that all the software will work for it. It will still feature local multiplayer. Rather than developers trying to get a game running both docked and portably they could focus on a docked experience which would hopefully be more stable. Since the console isn’t portable it wouldn’t have to rely on WiFi which seems to cap internet speed and maybe offer a better online experience.

I suppose time will tell but it’ll be interesting to see what direction Nintendo takes. Either way Nintendo should take advantage of this time- they have got to have a great next 2 years before those new systems hit their strides and the gap widens too much that 3rd party support drops like a box of rocks.

Re: Feature: Our Most Anticipated Nintendo Switch Games Of 2020

Mamabear

I’m surprised that The Outer Worlds isn’t on this list.. Metroid and BOTW 2 will not be released this year- I would eat my sock in shock if it happened. Otherwise I cannot wait for some directs because this list is lackluster for me. Animal Crossing is good but I need something else in my life. Speaking of directs don’t we usually get one in January?

Sadly my Switch has been not getting the attention I usually devote to it since I’ve been playing Xbox- if I’d known how much I’d love it I would have bought one sooner.

I recently opened up the Just Dance game I picked up during Black Friday sale to play with my almost 5 year old thinking it would be super fun to play together. She doesn’t like the dancing so much 😅but surprisingly my wife and I have been playing and the competition has been heating up. I can’t tell you how many times my kids have been smacked/ hip checked while running into our dancing space. Also that game is a workout!

I’m on the last chapter in A Plague Tale Innocence so I’m trying to finish that amazing game! So good!

I’m trying to avoid buying anything on the eshop since I’ve picked up Just Dance 2020 (Switch) and a few Xbox games during Black Friday ( Borderlands 3, RDR2, plus a few downloads)... but I’ve been playing the demo for Puzzle Quest and now that it’s on sale... Does it actually count as a purchase if I have the gold coins for it? I think not..

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (November 23rd)

@dugan Have you played other Pokémon titles? I held off on picking up Shield because I was unsure of it but I’ve noticed that we’ve had similar Tastes in games. I thought the more recent 3ds Pokémon games had too much going on and too many Pokémon so I liked Pokémon Let’s Go since it kept it simpler.

I decided to fight King Boo in LM3 but I didn’t realize that I would be unable to go back and get more Boos and hidden things 😓

I just received my new Xbox so I’ve been playing Creature in the Well ( Gamepass!) and I’ll start A Plague Tale: Innocence.

On the Switch front I’ll be playing Piczle Lines (still) and probably start Cuphead since I’ve decided to wait on picking up Shield.

Re: Nintendo Reveals Its Best Black Friday Deals For 2019 (North America)

Mamabear

@ImagineerNik I’m also looking at Xbox S this Black Friday- Costco and Sam’s Club have starter bundles( 3 mos game pass and 2 controllers) for $199. Kohl’s has the new Star Wars bundle for $199 plus $60 Kohl’s cash. It’ll be a wait and see if GameStop or Walmart have anything worthwhile. Definitely a good time to pick one up if you’re in the market.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (October 19th)

I’ve finished the story mode in Ori but discovered that I’m missing Blackroot Burrows and some collectibles- to go back and get them or move on that is the question. I can’t find the switches to unlock a lot of power ups are they deviously hidden?
I had Overwatch and Witcher preordered and still haven’t touched them since I haven’t had a lot of play time getting ready for vacation. I think I’ll wait on Witcher until I get back since I think it’s going to be more demanding.
So I think I’ll try out some Overwatch or play some Rocket League.
Happy gaming everyone!

@dugan Tough Choice between Goose and Ori! I found the Goose game to be a perfect break between more complicated games. I thought some of the puzzles were tricky and it was just entertaining. I find Ori to be more complicated- not as aggravating as Celeste or Hollow Knight but the platforming is really tight and leaves little room for error the further I get which means I die. A lot lol. Still fantastic thought. I don’t think you can go wrong with either!

Re: Nintendo Download: 10th October (North America)

Mamabear

I’ve got the physical Witcher preordered- Amazon has it for $49 if anyone’s interested in a $10 discount. Really thinking about Overwatch... have the space and the eshop credit just haven’t pulled the trigger.
Also interested in Mable in the Woods and Little Town Hero but going to wait for some reviews/ spare time.

Re: Stardew Valley Creator Outlines Next Update, Improves "Every Aspect" Of The Game

Mamabear

@AlexanderDaniels It reminds me a lot of the Harvest Moon on GameCube. Farming is a big aspect but there’s also other activities you can focus on- mining, fishing, being a busybody, fixing up the town, etc. I like the characters in SV more because there’s such a variety and I find them to be more relatable. If you haven’t tried it but enjoy games like Harvest Moon or even Animal Crossing I would recommend it- there’s a reason it’s on the bestselling list on eshop.

I will be continuing Ori- Still early on in the game but it is stunning. I’ve still got a few challenges in Goose game ( I cannot get the old man’s hat! ) I’ve put Celeste on pause because of all the recent games I’ve been playing but I still hear it calling my name... Must die 500 more times for strawberries...
I’m trying to tie up some loose ends before Witcher.
