Re: Soapbox: Nintendo's Maddening Stance On Retro Gaming Is Driving Me To Piracy

MaSSiVeRiCaN

@BulbasaurusRex your Lufia II comment was hilarious because, the thing is, I can get it. That's the entire point of this article. We live in an age where we can get most things we want if it's not offered. I don't see anything wrong with that. Since they're not providing a way for me to purchase said product their not losing out on any money if I choose to d/load it and play it on Retro-Arch across a myriad of other devices.

If they make said product, be it Lufia II or any other retro game the community wants officially available via whichever channels they choose I would gladly purchase the product to support their efforts and medium. Hence one of the reasons I pay for their online service, I'm actually enjoying a few of the NES games.

All it takes is one look at at the poll on this very article to see over 80% of people use emulation or have used emulation, whatever the reason may be. You can talk about taking the high road all you like but the reality is there are many simple options available out there and the solution is to provide a legal alternative method.

Re: Limited Run Games Set To Release First And Only Wii U Game, Lost "A Lot" Of Money Making It Happen

MaSSiVeRiCaN

@VinylCreep @Latinomex01 @EVIL-C @Ralizah He already stated in a tweet that it wasn't Fatal Frame and if it were they wouldn't have been losing money.

Personally I'm hoping it's Affordable Space Adventures. That was a phenomenal game. Either way I don't think small to mid business companies should not hurt themselves financially for passion projects that only a few people will appreciate. They have a business run with the responsibility to feed mouths and make sure the company doesn't go under. It's decisions like these that may be significant and could hurt in the long run.

Struggles are real and I for one am not a supporter of decisions like these. Depending on the game I may not even get it.

Favorite RPG saga on Switch thus far, even more so than Octopath. How I would love a fully remastered/reimagined Xenosaga compilation on Switch with all 6 original planned episodes and scenarios by Soraya Saga and Tetsuya Takahashi. Bamco should just sell the rights to Ninty and Squeenix should let go of Xenogears too. If they ever remade that game I would literally be in RPG heaven. I can’t stand that they do nothing with such amazing IP.

Re: Gallery: EGX 2018 Was Packed With Switch, Retro And More Than A Little Smash Bros. Ultimate

MaSSiVeRiCaN

@Anti-Matter I’m a bigger JRPG fan than any other genre of gaming so I enjoy both. I find your opinion a bit short sighted since you haven’t played it, however I acknowledge that to each his own, why play something you have no interest in. However I hold all opinions and judgement until I have played a game, I might say it ā€œLooksā€ boring or it it’s not my type of game but I won’t flat out say it is anything until I’ve experienced it for myself, otherwise your just hating passing an opinion for something u haven’t actually played for yourself.

Re: Gallery: EGX 2018 Was Packed With Switch, Retro And More Than A Little Smash Bros. Ultimate

@Anti-Matter seriously? Have you had an opportunity to play Spider-Man? The camera work and web slinging system are amazing, and make it an absolute blast to traverse the world. Could very well be the most fun way to traverse a sandbox/semi open world of sorts.

Also as a Spider-Man fan, what the studio achieved with the story, lore, and combat were nothing short of glorious. They did the series justice and other than Batman Arkham 3 nothing comes close to super-hero gaming perfection.

Re: Xenoblade Chronicles X's Elma Revealed For Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Available Today

MaSSiVeRiCaN

@Heavyarms55 hahaha bro relax. Some people the game didn't vibe with. Mostly from a combat and character design standpoint and I can see where their coming from.

I on the other hand love the game and am over 250hrs with only the first 1 or 2 contents of DLC. I'll have much to get back into come next month. Highly excited.

Trolls & haters I don't even take their comments into consideration.

Re: The Switch's Home Menu Uses Less Than 200 KB Of Resources For Super-Fast Load Times

MaSSiVeRiCaN

@Moshschocker that's what we're talking about here. Switch UI is minimalistic but extremely fast at both loading the menu and launching games. Where as the PS4 and XBONE have more features but are far slower and a bit of a convoluted mess at times.

I'm in the speed over features camp clearly. However I would still love some tags/folders/sorting features for organizing so long as it wouldn't affect the speed much. I also agree I should be able to at least send messages. Hopefully once NOL launches it will solve some of those problems.

Re: The Switch's Home Menu Uses Less Than 200 KB Of Resources For Super-Fast Load Times

MaSSiVeRiCaN

@Agramonte that's funny cuz my PS4 Pro and Xbox One X seem to have plenty of resources but still [removed] slow and nowhere near as fast when compared to my 200kb Switch UI.

Nice way to put a spin on the concept & down play the achievement though.

Edit: seriously my PS4 pro pisses me off the most. It's unacceptable how the menu still stutters and freezes on me sometimes. Ridiculous considering the power of the system.

Re: Guide: The Best Metroid Games - Every Metroid Game Ranked

MaSSiVeRiCaN

@Pojos98 I think it's funny because there hasn't been much storytelling to flesh out the type of character that Samus is.

I believe people have their own idea or view on the type of character she is but in all honesty it's up to the creators to elaborate and show more of her character according to the creators vision. She's human, a woman at that which comes with all the strengths and complexities of being an orphan. If they choose to show her to be vulnerable or terrified at what she's experiencing that's ok. Even if it doesn't match up with our own pre-conceived notions of who she is or isn't.

Re: Guide: The Best Metroid Games - Every Metroid Game Ranked

MaSSiVeRiCaN

Funny how other m gets such a bad rap. It was a fun game to play for me and I really enjoyed it. Not so much the story because it was weak and I didn't like what they did with Samus but the gameplay, exploration and combat was fun. Fusion was my favorite 2D Metroid imo.

1. Fusion
2. Prime Trilogy (Motion controls for aiming were excellent & fun)
3. Samus Returns 3DS
4. Super Metroid
5. Other M.

Re: Ubisoft Has Halted Development Of Steep On Nintendo Switch

MaSSiVeRiCaN

@hatch @Razer great comments on here with actual relevancy and news.

On the other hand @Anti-Matter I can’t really tell if your being sarcastic or being funny when you ask for Ubisoft shovelware like the Petz and Imagine series šŸ˜‚ but honestly yea we def don't need any more of those awful titles right? šŸ˜‰

Ubi has a good catalogue of IP's and franchises that would sell well, and continue giving the Switch a good image in the gaming community as a a versatile gaming machine, which can can play AAA ports on the go, that the console would benefit from and that are fun to play on the go.
