Re: Guide: Fire Emblem: Three Houses - Get Started With These Heroic Tips

MaSSiVeRiCaN

@60frames-please I’m surprised, your really missing out on one of the best Fire Emblems, I’ve been playing since the GameCube days and I’m loving this one. Sure take a few points off for performance if you’d like but definitely no reason to denounce it completely. If you like SRPG’s this is top notch with both game mechanics and story so far.

Re: Review: Tiny Metal: Full Metal Rumble - Finally, A True Successor To Advance Wars Emerges

MaSSiVeRiCaN

@60frames-please ah I gotcha, I can definitely understand where your coming from. Things do feel a bit off with side scrolling platformers at 30fps. I do like the pixel look I just don’t know what it is about the trailers it looks worse than I think it should.

@rushiosan @Iacobus Interesting, thanks for your opinions. Wonder if there’s a wargroove demo so I can compare.

Re: Review: Tiny Metal: Full Metal Rumble - Finally, A True Successor To Advance Wars Emerges

MaSSiVeRiCaN

@60frames-please I’m going to try out the TM demo but from what I gather based on several opinions wargroove is the better game, just not a big fan of the graphics looks pretty bad on my 55” 4K and I play on TV 75% of the time, TM looks better imo but gameplay is king baby so not a stickler for graphics by any means.

Edit: is 30fps really that bad for you? Zelda played wonderfully to me, really an amazing experience and the framerate didn’t bother me at all unless it starts chugging hard for long.

Re: Review: Tiny Metal: Full Metal Rumble - Finally, A True Successor To Advance Wars Emerges

MaSSiVeRiCaN

@60frames-please Thanks for the info 😊 60fps isn’t a deal breaker for me at all, I enjoy plenty of games at 30fps as long as it’s a nice steady and consistent frame rate that’s all I care about. Story, presentation gameplay, amount of content but most importantly the fun factor is what I look for most.

Sounds like Wargroove though has a better story and gameplay mechanics. I have into the breach and love it.

Re: Random: We Really Hope The New Nintendo Switch Looks Like This

MaSSiVeRiCaN

@janpampoen I’m a day 1 adopter and I don’t expect to get anything for free, and I sure would love a lighter, more powerful, battery efficient, brighter, more fully featured revision and would have no problem purchasing it dat 1 again. What I don’t understand Is why something that you purchased over 2 years ago makes any impact on wanting an improved version other than it sounding like you can’t afford it. Sell your old one to set off the price of the new one. Problem solved.

Re: Jumanji: The Video Game Comes To Nintendo Switch This November

MaSSiVeRiCaN

I don’t how anyone could think the recent reboot is better than the original. Even the concept was better. Board game impacts real world, was much more exciting. The second one felt cliche, no charm, no heart and just kinda fake. I’m a fan of the rock too mind so I enjoyed the movie but the first felt special and had so much character.

Re: Sega Ages Line Struggling To Appeal In Japan, Interest Overseas Better Than Expected

MaSSiVeRiCaN

It’s just surprising to hear how people are still saying “oh release this game, release that game and it’s going to sell so much” when clearly the SEGA AGES line isn’t selling much overall. only a few people are going to buy it and it doesn’t warrant the work and expense put in.

The majority of the releases have been really cool arcade classics and not MegaDrive/Genesis games like most people think and I find it very interesting but even I myself haven’t bought any.

Re: Video: Digital Foundry Takes A Look At Mortal Kombat 11

MaSSiVeRiCaN

Don't Regret this purchase at all, it plays fantastically and the fact that I can play Mortal Kombat just about anywhere is just phenomenal when I’m home sure I can play on my PS4 Pro but there’s something about playing this on switch that’s just amazing.

Plays silky smooth other than the fatalities and some cut scenes like fatal blow’s which cause a bit of a stutter here and there but for the most part it’s just awesome game play. Ton of content for the money, It’s become one of my favorite purchases this year.

Re: Random: The Karate Kid’s Son Upgrades To Switch In Cobra Kai Season 2

MaSSiVeRiCaN

@MeatSauce @antdickens I find this kind of news interesting. Have you seen the amount of articles they put out over the last 24hrs? After the financial briefing, upcoming releases, feature articles and cool little random stuff like this, the only reason I'd think you'd say it's a slow news day is to throw a stab at the fact that random articles like this don't interest you.

Re: Remarkable Commodore 64 Port Of Super Mario Bros. Attracts Nintendo's Watchful Eye

MaSSiVeRiCaN

Wow the skill and devotion to port the game over with that kind of performance on the Commodore 64 architecture is just beyond impressive. Glad it’s out there and I’ll be snagging up a copy however I’d just rather play it on one of Ninty’s consoles or Retroarch for better performance.

This was really neat but still not the ideal way to play so Ninty’s really taking it down just for protection of their IP.

Re: New Yo-Kai Watch 4 Characters, Explorable World And More Revealed

MaSSiVeRiCaN

@Agramonte what’s wrong with Indie games. Most are better than the AAA garbage they’re putting out I’d say about 80% of the time.

Transistor, Wizard of Legend and so many others have more original and fun gameplay than anything EA, Activision and Take 2 is putting out. Hellblade even though it’s a AA title again better than these high profile loot box and monetisation infested crap.

They mess up everything that’s good. AC Odyssey & DMC with its “experience boosters” and looter shooters Christ don’t get me started, and between FO76 and Anthem I can’t figure out which games worse. Thank God for Sony and CDPR and even From Software. At least keeping it about good games. Most of the time I get my gaming fix with phenomenal indies.

Re: German Publisher First Press Games Will Distribute Physical Releases For Switch

MaSSiVeRiCaN

@GrailUK it’s funny how people think that PS4/XBone games are any different. You can’t buy the disc and play anymore without mandatory d/loads I don’t see u guys complaining about that. There is no more buying the disc and playing straight out of the box. Not for the full experience of most new titles anymore anyway.

I agree that a box with a code is absolutely ridiculous and an atrocious practice. A waste of plastic and slap to the face for consumers.

Re: German Publisher First Press Games Will Distribute Physical Releases For Switch

MaSSiVeRiCaN

@mozzy1 I’m all for physical media but I and many others as consumers are not fans of paying double or triple the price of the game compared to the eShop.

First off this only falls in line for indies not major publishers they don’t care since the majority are going digital due to convenience (some for the environment), end of story there.

However this practice of creating limited runs and hiking up the price steeply is very profitable for them I’m sure which is why everyone is getting in on publishing Indies now. They see people can be milked high and dry for a couple of usually (not always) cheaply made pieces of plastic & metal and mass produced copies of handmade art. I could buy 2 to 3 games for the price their charging for one. If the physical was $5-$10 more I’d consider getting more of these but the prices they’re charging are outrageous paying AA and AAA prices for indie games.

It’s getting abusive and all were doing now is showing companies were willing to pay 2 to 3x as much for physical so they’ll take advantage. There will be no price parity and it’s not good for the consumer.

I specifically get physical media cuz not only do I love the feeling of having something tangible for the box art, inner case art, manuals, art books and the cartridge itself, but I also get deep discounts for going physical with BB’s gamer club. Once that expires though there’s little savings left in going physical unless it’s AAA games now. It pisses me off so much.

Anyway my point is a minority buying a couple of thousand units is not going to show any major publisher that demand for physical media is high as they’re looking to move software by the millions.

Re: Warped Metaverse Is A Promising 3D Action-Adventure Raising Funds To Shine On Switch

MaSSiVeRiCaN

@Rhaoulos it’s a kickstarter delays are to be expected. Also with all of my backed projects the campaigns were very transparent with delays, whether it was due to revisions of the products to make it better, tooling issues, sourcing material due to campaign being very successful or manufacturer contracts ending with their sources etc.. So many things can happen and I’ve learned tons due to all these emails on the manufacturing process and bringing a product to market as a whole. Again 48 backed projects and 39 of them were received and I’m extremely satisfied with. All delays led to a better product and some are even due to feedback from the backers themselves because they want a certain feature or stretch goal added.

Granted again these are electronics, gadgets, housewares, clothing and the likes. I recommend Kickstarter to all my friends and have had them jump on the bandwagon. I tell you the Kore Tek belt changed my life lol. Games seem to have really long delays but again it’s a 2 year minimum which depending on stretch goals and funding could be much longer if they want to make the best game possible.

My experience has really just been so overwhelmingly positive that I absolutely love Kickstarter And indiegogo and is becoming my go to place for things I want. They’re usually better than whatever is on the market right now.

Re: Warped Metaverse Is A Promising 3D Action-Adventure Raising Funds To Shine On Switch

MaSSiVeRiCaN

@Rhaoulos @heavyarms55 I’ve backed 48 projects on Kickstarter to date. They’ve all not only delivered but over-delivered except for the ones whose campaigns just ended. Granted they’re not games though, just recently backed chained echoes as my first game.

From my experience it’s a very small minority it seems that have negative outcomes but as we know any negative news can be disproportionate to the positive. It could be more on the game side as my longest wait for any product was 5 -7 months or so.

Re: Switch Online Mobile App Receives New Update, But It's Still Mostly Useless

MaSSiVeRiCaN

Only thing it has going for it is splatnet. Definitely a cool feature, too bad the rest is useless. I'd say just make splatnet a separate app. Kill the rest of the app, no one uses this to chat, and if there are people that do so, I'd say no more than 1% - 2% as it's literally easier to just use my phone to call my friends and put them on speakerphone than use this app.
