The NES Classic Mini and SNES Classic Mini have been a roaring success, with sales for both devices temporarily outperforming modern generation video game systems during certain months of the year. As you might recall, the initial stock was also incredibly hard to acquire, selling out in many places around the world almost immediately.
In response to the popularity of both miniature systems, Nintendo Sales Co., Ltd. - the official Nintendo distributor in Japan - will be releasing a double pack later this year on 15th September. This will include the Famicom Classic Mini, Super Famicom Classic Mini, and a Nintendo USB AC Adapter compatible with both devices. According to Nintendo Soup, orders are apparently live on Amazon Japan right now. Retailers also have the price of the bundle listed at ¥15,077 (roughly $135.00 / £105.00).
Would you like to see the Nintendo Classic Mini double pack be released outside of Japan? Have you seen a similar deal at your local video game retailer? Do you already own both systems? Tell us below.

I’m still looking for the NES classic.
If the Famicom Mini didn't have that awful shrunken controller I'd consider it, the price isn't bad at about $135usd.
Seen stores with stock in my area. It goes rather quick but the restocks seem to be there.
I think I have mentioned more than once how I am mildly resentful of the success of these devices because I blame them for the death of Virtual Console - which on Switch is where I would have liked that service the best...
But that said, a double pack does seem like a decent idea. However considering how bloody easy it is to hack these things, is there really much need to have both? Yeah, for those who don't like that sort of thing. But that's about all.
@ReaderRagfish Same here, considering how much effort I put into finding the snes, seeing both at Wal-Mart was somethin
Sounds neat! I might get this. Both maybe for a reduced price?
Come on Nintendo, we want the N64 Mini
@justin233 If you are in the US, the NES Classic currently in stock in amazon, and has been for a few weeks. The SNES Classic, is currently slightly above MSRP, but it too has been in stock multiple times, I've bought like 4 so far.
@ReaderRagfish Reminds me of when I saw a SNES classic just sitting on a shelf. I was so surprised by it that I just had to buy it even though I had no plans of doing so before I got there. Last one they had as well.
@justin233 i just saw 5 of them Saturday at my local Best Buy! Try there!
@ReaderRagfish Yeah I just got them for the novelty, although I do really enjoy playing the SNES classic from time to time. The NES classic is just more of a cool retro novelty in comparison that I don't really play nearly as much.
Kinda feel like getting another SNES classic just to save and give to my nephew as an introduction to gaming when he gets a bit older.
I’d rather see a GameCube Mini! 🤤🤤
@ReaderRagfish the past few weeks I've seen stores have 4 or 5 at a time. Never saw 1 in person at a store last year.
Awaiting the groans and drooling of box variant nutters over this one.
There were like... 10 NES Classics in stock in my Wal-Mart last I looked last Thursday. I nabbed one (of the three in stock) at Meijer a week prior.
I have both. Been tempted to acquire another of each so I can keep an original, unopened... and one with ahem some extra games on it that should have made the list.
I’m playing em more than my Switch or 3DS atm.
Can’t beat those controllers. An Xbox controller hooked up to the laptop just doesn’t compare.
I don't have a Famicom mini but I do have the NES Mini which I got a few weeks ago and a SNES mini.
I don't have either of them. Missed out on launch!
@justin233 If you have a Best Buy in your area, check there. They got a lot of them.
I don’t have any of them. I would be willing to buy the SuperNES mini because it is my favorite console of all time... but I’d rather have those games on the Switch so I don’t need to switch devices (pun unintended but unavoidable) each time I want to play a SNES game.
They seem to be in stock everywhere for few months now. The NES was impossible to get before that unless you pre ordered before release or paid stupid amounts online or in second hand game shops.
Have a SNES Mini but not a NES. Seen them and could get them at RRP but just don’t see the need.
I get why people like ‘em, but I can’t be bothered plugging something else into the tv. And the Switch has got me gaming on the go, so I’m doubly out. Give me some decent retro on the Switch and I’m all in (the current info on the Online subscription is underwhelming)
Bought the golden Famicom Mini Shonen Jump edition. It sucks and couldn't get Hakchi to work yet.
@Heavyarms55 Not just for those who don't like to hack their mini consoles, also for the people who like to keep the hacks pure, as in only putting games on there that actually belong to the system, like I did.
So does this mean that the realization of a N64 mini are pretty much now shot? Out of all of them that's the one I was most hyped about...
I have both. I have my snes one hacked but not my nes one. I only added games that I own already from my snes collection or the VC.
@nab1
Why do you need 4 of these? 2 I can understand to have one as a backup.
@Don One for me, the others were gifts for friends.
No, I’d rather have an universal Nintendo classic that would have the best games from multiple Nintendo systems. Nes, snes, n64, gb,gbc, gba,gc. These things look good no doubt but I don’t really need many devices when a single one could handle them all (a rasp pi has proven this right).
Wich brings me to my main point: people already have switches, just bring the games to a virtual console already. It prints more money to sell games 5-10/ piece than a mini console with 30 games for 70.
Also, one single devices (switch) would be more convinient anyway.
I never thought I'd see the day, but my local Meijer had 6 NES mini's, and a Walmart I went to had 3 or 4. Still haven't seen the SNES mini yet.
@Bondi_Surfer I doubt they're just going to throw NES games on there and call it a day. They should've just brought Virtual Console back as it was a great way to capitalize. Nintendo's gotta stop shredding their cards.
