Re: Feature: SNES Classic Edition Vs. PlayStation Classic - Which One Should You Choose?

MaSSiVeRiCaN

Love me some PlayStation but what they did with the PS Classic is an embarrassment and catastrophe to its brand name imo.

Instead of making a mini console it can be proud of and doing things in house like Ninty, it opted to use a poor open source emulator as a base, then opted to put a half ass list of games together which not only run poorly as it is but approve half of them to be PAL versions which run even worse.

Combine that with it’s no frills ugly UI based on the memory card management system from back in the day with absolutely no charm, flare or music to go along with it and Christ to me the PS classic is nothing short of an atrocious dumpster fire.

Re: Japanese Charts: Smash Bros. Ultimate Has Already Outsold Pokémon And Zelda: Breath Of The Wild

MaSSiVeRiCaN

@Helix87UKNOW it’s fairly to safe to say that it will hit 5 Million very early, it sounds like by your reasoning Mario Kart isn’t popular either.

Point I was making with Smash is that it’s popular, it wasn’t just kids playing it as a matter of fact most people at the airport that I saw were grown. Obviously a multiplat game with an install base of around ~120 Million give or take is going to have the capability to sell much more.

Now let’s look at that attach rate when the figures are in for Smash and I bet it’ll be fantastic as well.

Re: Japanese Charts: Smash Bros. Ultimate Has Already Outsold Pokémon And Zelda: Breath Of The Wild

MaSSiVeRiCaN

@Helix87UKNOW @thesilverbrick I’m willing to bet you lose that bet.

Smash is incredibly popular period. May not sell as much as a multiplat like RDR2 across 2 major systems, but very popular nonetheless.

I took a trip to the NE part of the U.S. on launch weekend and the amount of people with a Switch at the airport playing Smash was surprising to say the least. A LOT of smashers out there right now and if they don’t play it they’ve heard of it, so it’s popular.

Re: Joker From Persona 5 Joins The Battle As The First DLC Character In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

MaSSiVeRiCaN

@Electricghost lol bro u must have been under a rock to miss Persona 5. Far from obscure now as it was a 2017 contender for GOTY and won Best RPG 2017. Good stuff right here a very diverse fighter with both range and close attacks. He's going to be hella fun.

Seriously I was in shock and awe. Absolutely love this inclusion and this character alone makes the fighters pass worth it for me. Can't wait to see what else they have coming.

Re: Check Out Thai Martial Artist Tony Jaa In Capcom's Upcoming Monster Hunter Movie

MaSSiVeRiCaN

I'm a big monster Hunter fan but this movie isnt just for fans of the game. The resident evil movies were successful for a reason. Hollywood has to see the bigger picture and appeal to a much wider audience than just monster Hunter fans.

The masses won’t give a crap or even be able to get immersed into the lore of the original Monster Hunter settings and world. So tying it in with something people can relate to well actually be better for sales and to get people to watch the movie.

When we want something officially legitimate to the source material that’ll probably be side projects and animations like the upcoming 3-D animated movie and you know some anime hopefully but nothing big but just like this, at least not yet.

Re: Five Nights At Freddy's Creator Is Bringing The Original Scares To Switch

MaSSiVeRiCaN

@Varkster I like I'm sure many others have not played the game. I actually haven't even seen or bothered to look up any gameplay even though I heard of it. However since it wasn't on a platform that I play games on (PS4/Switch) never bothered with it; not a fan of gaming on PC. So I'm that target market since I'll definitely try it out now, especially if it's in some form of compilation for reasonable value. That's probably the case for many others as well, you sound salty about the game being ported to all platforms for some reason.

Re: Amid Closures And The Decline Of Print Media, Raspberry Pi Is Launching A New Games Mag

MaSSiVeRiCaN

Well hate is evil, more evil and devilish than any of those 18+ rated games. You shouldn't live with hate in your heart. It clouds judgement, brings down your frequency and poisons the heart and mind. Hate is the only real devilish thing I see here.

M rated games DO NOT equal Devilish or evil let's get that one thing that clear. That was my point, I definitely went off track. There are horror games that more close resemble what you describe as devilish but did u know in China one of Mario's games Has an M/18+ rating? Guess it's devilish too.

Listen just don't get a game with adult themes and subject matter confused with some radical evil. In Japan many ratings are lower than the M/18+, and ratings are subjective. Who knows even you may enjoy a few if you weren't blinded with hate for a label.

Re: Amid Closures And The Decline Of Print Media, Raspberry Pi Is Launching A New Games Mag

MaSSiVeRiCaN

@Anti-Matter I’m not sure what qualifies as devilish but 18+ or rates M games just contain adult subject matter. Like a story or a movie that contains themes which are hard to grasp by children such as existentialism, religion, life, death & sex. The things we all have to deal with as adults and some stories are absolutely amazing and change an outlook or perspective on many topics and subjects.

Christ I know anime like Evangelion and movies like Requiem for a Dream have changed my life and as I get older I see more and more meaning, even as a teen I didn’t fully grasp the concepts of what the material was trying to portray.

From what I’ve noticed most of us commenting on these threads are adults and enjoy having our minds stimulated with deep and philosophical subjects and unfortunately you can’t have that kind of experience in most games and movies rated for kids.

I’d be curious to know what kind of sheltered life your wife & kids lead if that’s your mentality.

Re: Amid Closures And The Decline Of Print Media, Raspberry Pi Is Launching A New Games Mag

MaSSiVeRiCaN

@Anti-Matter actually it aims to, “take a more indie-focused, left-field angle than traditional gaming magazines. You’ll be as likely to see coverage of mods, early access games and development tools as you are major AAA titles.”

And the first issue has an in depth look at the history of treasure, which made amazing schmups. Not sure if you read the article or if your just trashing it based on the fact you saw raspberry pi and some triple AAA games mentioned.

It looks to be less about AAA games than most mags and more about behind the scenes development of games. I know AAA games are the devil to you just remember they need some of that coverage to stay relevant. It’s what most people are interested in.

Re: Fan-Made Website Which Helps Switch Owners Find Online Players Is About To Reach 40,000 Users

MaSSiVeRiCaN

See this is fantastic and very helpful. Don’t understand why Nintendo doesn’t take steps to do this on their own. The only aspect of the Switch I can’t stand is their online infrastructure. Christ I can’t even send a message to my friends. I just cannot understand. Make parental controls secure by default so that I have to turn off security features they want in place for kids. Unfortunately a large part of the user base are not kids anymore. We want proper online communications at the very least.

Re: It's Official, Team Sonic Racing Has Been Delayed Until 21st May 2019

MaSSiVeRiCaN

@Razer You’re underestimating the Pokémon brand I guarantee you it’s going to sell better than Diablo 3, and I’ll even be as bold to predict it’ll do somewhere around 5 Million at the very least. Interestingly enough it’s the first game I’ve seen a lot of lapsed Pokémon gamers saying they’re going to come back to. I for one lost interest around ruby/sapphire.

Re: Soapbox: I'm Causing The Slow Death Of Gaming Magazines, And It Hurts

MaSSiVeRiCaN

@NEStalgia your comments are seriously one of the main reasons I go deep into comments section. Always insightful, deep and thoughtful. I’ve literally saved some of your comments including the one here to my notes just to share what you wrote and converse with like minded people on some of the views and topics we share. I just can’t put it into words as eloquently as you can.

Re: Review: Dark Souls: Remastered - Perfect Portable Punishment

MaSSiVeRiCaN

Guys 9 is an opinion. For him it felt the audio issues were negligible enough that it doesn't hamper his enjoyment of the game. Or possibly he would've given it a 10 if the audio was better 😂

Anyway I don't pay attention to the number as much as I do the content of the review. That's what matters.

Anyway to me the review was very positive but unfortunately between Starlink and some of my backlog I cannot commit to this just yet. Certain I'll be getting it at some point.

Re: Random: Treat Your Loved Ones To These Joy-Con Knife Blade Holders This Holiday Season

MaSSiVeRiCaN

@GrailUK @ThanosReXXX man sorry again I took your comment too literal. I guess it's just a different sense of humor we have.

Seriously though I just sent this to like five of my friends and they all cracked up. The fact that it’s a product with a family friendly image is what makes this funny, I’m genuinely surprised you guys would take offense to something that is clearly meant as a joke for adults.

Re: A Zelda-Like Open World Pokémon Game Is "Still On The Cards", Says Junichi Masuda

MaSSiVeRiCaN

@Mogster @Razer @RennanNT @justin233 @NEStalgia So to all the open world Pokémon supporters how exactly would turn based and open world work together?

The majority of the Pokémon fan base enjoy the deep strategy and complex game of chess played with Pokémon’s battle system. What ideas do you guys have that could incorporate that battle system with an open world?

Keep the fights turn based and you keep the 20+ million Pokémon fans happy.

Let’s throw some ideas in the mix and have an actual conversation about how open world could improve the current gameplay, because if you’re talking about making it a real time action battle system then that would be an entirely different game.

Changing the entire game is not something millions of people want. It needs to be done in a way that builds upon the excellent qualities of the series. I for one don’t see how it could work, although I’m very open to the idea.

Re: Team Cherry's Decision To Cancel Hollow Knight On Wii U Was Hard, But Ultimately For The Best

MaSSiVeRiCaN

@paihia @Cobalt too bad, your missing out on a fantastic game. Anything for Wii U was a waste of dev resources anyway. The game is much better for it. U should give it a chance and enjoy it for what it is. I don’t hold grudges, the Wii U for the most part wasn’t a viable or profitable platform. There are some exceptions of course but again very few and far between.
