Re: Review: RiME (Switch)

MaSSiVeRiCaN

Thanks for the review as always and calling it like it is. If this was the same price as the other consoles I'd give it a go and hope for a patch that could fix the frame rate & control issues up. Unfortunately it's 1/3 more expensive and with the glaring technical issues I'll have to pass this up.

Too bad bcuz I was really looking forward to this one but I was always on the fence because of the price, if it didn't have the issues I could justify it for the portability but now it's most definitely not worth it. If it goes on sale and they patch of the technical issues I'm on board.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Has Embraced DLC, But Must Resist The Worst Industry Norms

MaSSiVeRiCaN

@SLIGEACH_EIRE The vast majority of the complaints of XCX was that the world was too large. Ergo said complaints led to saying there wasn't enough wildlife in the world & it didn't feel as full as it should have. Director intends to correct that by making a slightly smaller in scope world but rich in detail, life and i'm sure quantity of things to do and see. Per his own interview.

I see no problem in making a game with stronger quality and less quantity in mind , there was a lot of unnecessary bloat in XCX, so what's to discredit the game being worth $60? Depending on the story expansion it may well be worth the $30 or at the very least $20 but I intend to support the developers so $30 isn't out of hand for me since the Xeno series is my favorite RPG franchise since the Squaresoft Xenogears days.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Has Embraced DLC, But Must Resist The Worst Industry Norms

MaSSiVeRiCaN

@Pupito did u even read the article. I presume not. Nobody is saying DLC isn't a valid way to expand and improve upon a game. What is not right and should not be commonplace are micro transactions for loot boxes on single player campaign's, locking premade content behind a DLC pay wall that's already been developed prior to release of the game or even worse locking half of the games content up behind another $60 paywall as well as payy to win on games that are not free to play. These types of practices should be banned.

Re: Review: Sonic Forces (Switch)

MaSSiVeRiCaN

Looking at it as someone who isn't biased to either 2D or 3D sonic. Sonic mania was a more fun, polished and better game experience overall. I really enjoyed colors and am currently running through generations as well and have had a good time. It's looking like this game isn't great. It's mediocre and that's where the problem lies. People want a great sonic and unfortunately only seem to receive it in its 2D version. If u think this game is genuinely Good like deserving of an 8 or higher than obviously good level design, pacing and good controls don't matter to you in the slightest.

Re: Monolith Soft Discusses the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Art Style and Its Focus on Story

MaSSiVeRiCaN

The character design has grown on me over time and especially as I see more and more of the game. I'm certain this one won't disappoint. I've been a huge fan of this team and their RPG's since Xenogears. Hype level over 9000 for sure.

@BensonUii Very doubtful they would port XCX although I'm right there with ya. I would love to play it on Switch. Come on Ninty& Monolithsoft. The people demand it. I will very much miss the Dolls/Skells.

Re: Nintendo Switch Sales Are Trending Well Above Wii U, and Could Even Catch the Wii

MaSSiVeRiCaN

@SLIGEACH_EIRE you don't believe or you don't want it too? Chances are it'll surpass the 3DS, as the next logical upgrade for all those people with a 3DS is the Switch. Sure you will probably lose a few million due to price point but that will be balanced by the millions of console gamers who like the portability factor along with dedicated console gamers who like Ninty games. Add that with a possible price drop or Switch lite if some form for a more economically minded individual and hitting 70 million definitely sounds feasible.

Re: Review: 88 Heroes: 98 Heroes Edition (Switch)

MaSSiVeRiCaN

Gr8 review I'll give it a go once I'm done with a few major releases probably after the holidays. honestly it's at tough sale at $30 when I know it can get repetitive, but there's so much humor in it I just can't help myself, if it goes on sale sooner I'll pick it up.

Re: Satellaview BS Zelda Third and Fourth Quests Get MSU1 Audio

MaSSiVeRiCaN

@PtM right coming from someone who writes incomprehensible sentences. I'm not going to take the time to break down how you never answered my question. Which is what were you let down about considering the title of the article? Title says BS Zelda games get enhanced digital audio, is that a bad thing?

Re: Lost Sphear Makes Modest Debut in Japan But Switch Stays on Top

MaSSiVeRiCaN

@yeayeanaynay yeah I kind of agree I mean I enjoyed I am Setsuna, most definitely wasn't the $40 stunner I thought it was going to be thank God I got it on sale for the switch and I might just do the same for Lost Sphear. At least it has various locales and not the same drab monotone look throughout the entire game world.

Re: Soapbox: Breath Of The Wild Is Amazing, But Is It The 3D Zelda That Enthusiasts Expected?

MaSSiVeRiCaN

Many of you guys have to realize that the old Zelda convention with a linear story and how things were laid out with dungeons verbatim, (new item, use item etc) was getting very stale, repetitive and boring. I've played through all LoZ's & I knew exactly what to expect every time that's not a good thing.

this game is exactly what LoZ needed. It can expand further on this formula, give us more dungeons maybe some permanent items, a fuller more fleshed out world ( although the emptiness is fitting of the apocalyptic story ) & more engaging side quest, but that old formula is 10 or more games deep and that's enough, they needed to switch it up and breathe some life back into this franchise and win new and old fans alike.

If we would've got another ocarina of time like Zelda it would have just been compared to to all the games before it and leave little room for innovation. You can only ride the same horse so many times before you beat it to death. Past 3-D Zelda games have had their glory, but it's time to move the franchise in the direction they chose.

Re: Review: Oxenfree (Switch eShop)

MaSSiVeRiCaN

Just went through the first playthrough and about a quarter of the way through the second and this new run is vastly different and I love how everything ties in from the first. Very creepy & atmospheric. The story was definitely original in the landscape of video games and it's just a really well made game all throughout. I have to disagree strongly with a few people here. It had me hooked all the way through and I couldn't wait to find out what happens the more I played. Depressing most definitely comes to mind but hopefully this second playthrough comes to fruition in a less depressing manner lol.

Re: Review: Tumblestone (Switch eShop)

MaSSiVeRiCaN

I love this game and I'm double dipping on the Switch for it at almost half the price but why was online omitted? I shall not be satisfied and curiosity shall not be quelched until I find answers. Future update possibly?

Re: The Inevitable SNES Classic Mini Hack Is Now Complete

MaSSiVeRiCaN

@In_Ex_Fan ... well yes.. yes it is but that's not my point. 🤣🤣

Point is your not allowed to tell me what I can or cannot do after I've purchased said product. It's a violation of my rights. If I go and break any laws using said product in a harmful/profiteering or just right down stupid and dangerous way putting others at risk, then that can be called illegal. Modifying my product to suit my needs/wants is not illegal and it's what tons of people do everyday in all sort of different areas not just electronics.

Re: The Inevitable SNES Classic Mini Hack Is Now Complete

MaSSiVeRiCaN

@impurekind way to link to your games when he ruffled your feathers but when I go asking for 'em I was straight denied the pleasure 😓😋 but good one on ya. I retract a few of my statements as I once thought you were full of it. My apologies 👍🏽

@FinalFrog you're killing me bro, I almost wanna keep this going for your comments alone.

Re: The Inevitable SNES Classic Mini Hack Is Now Complete

MaSSiVeRiCaN

@In_Ex_Fan what are you on? That cow may be bread specifically for milking, but if I so choose, I can butcher that cow for any meat I so desire. After I purchase that cow there isn't anyone on Gods green earth that can tell me whether I can kill it, milk or f**k it if I want. What the hell are you talking about? I Hope you remove yourself from this conversation because your examples are ridiculous.

@FinalFrog 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

@impurekind well said friend, we don't agree often but damn that was just, well beautifully put.

Re: The Inevitable SNES Classic Mini Hack Is Now Complete

MaSSiVeRiCaN

@in_ex_fan The EULA is nothing but a violation of our consumer rights, just like a lot of our freedom's over here in the states due to the patriot act and any other BS bills they've passed in the name of what they think is beneficial. It's beneficial to them and only them not us. You're not a criminal, you're a sheep, especially if you support and think highly of any laws such as the EULA. An insult in the face of any consumer. It's like they spit in your face after they take your money So if you're OK with that that's very hurtful mentality.

It's funny you called out @impurekind with " if you made video games for a living" because that's exactly what he does so yeah you're not quite right again.

Re: Sega Confirms Sonic Forces Is 720p, 30fps On Nintendo Switch

MaSSiVeRiCaN

60fps does make a big difference in a game like this, there's plenty of games that I don't care for graphical parity, but performance wise this game will most definitely be hit hard with a 30fps drop.

It's intended to be played as such so it's unfortunate it's yet another blow to a game that thus far doesn't look great either. I would love to have a good 3D Sonic game and I mean good, not average or bad, but actually really good, as it would make me so happy to have a 3-D sonic Gabe be a must play for a console. I'll keep my fingers crossed but it's not looking good for this one either. Maybe we should let fans make the 3-D game as well 😝

Re: Sega Confirms Sonic Forces Is 720p, 30fps On Nintendo Switch

MaSSiVeRiCaN

@sligeach_eire hey I know you want a Nintendo Xbox, but it's a perfectly well designed hybrid console, so it's not gimped. it's giving you many things that PS4/Xbone one cannot give you, does that make them gimped? Nintendo would not thrive making a Nintendo Xbox, we do not need a third machine competing in the same space, they simply wouldn't make it.

They thrive in blue ocean areas and creativity and made a product that people didn't even know they wanted until they saw it, and that's a good thing. Ninty will never make this Nintendo Xbox u crave and it sounds like your really hurting for those a hard-core AAA games and if you want to enjoy those kind of games u should really consider purchasing the system for it.

Just a suggestion. Rather than keep bad-mouthing them for making a successful product, which gives u the ability to do something & play in ways u cannot on other hardware, and has satisfied an itch for millions of gamers, (for some, one they didn't know they had mind u) yet doesn't satisfy your desire for basically a clone system with Nintendo branding, maybe it's time to credit them for being visionaries thinking outside the box and not placating to your average AAA gamer and warranting the system on its own merits and accords.

Re: Cybergadget's Slim Switch Dock Offers LAN Play - Releases This December

MaSSiVeRiCaN

@SLIGEACH_EIRE I take it you won't be getting a Switch until this revised model is released in about 2 yrs? You've mentioned your a Ninty gamer only, by choice I suppose so will the Wii U hold u over for that long? Or maybe finally you'll get a PS4 at a cheap price and get down on some of those 3rd party's Ninty misses out on? I'm so curious when it comes to u for some reason lol.

Re: Review: Axiom Verge (Switch eShop)

MaSSiVeRiCaN

I played this completion on Wii U so I don't see myself playing it again unless there's a sale for it on Switch. Nevertheless, this game is definely a modern classic and thoroughly enjoyable. If u haven't played this game and like the genre or at the very least intrigued by anything you've seen u won't be disappointed. A game that must be played in this era.
