I have F-Zero Climax as a physical cartridge. Bought it before the time every damn retro game price went up.
F-Zero Climax is one of the two F-Zero titles that have a level editor, other being the 64DD exclusive F-Zero X Expansion Kit. Hope we get that one officially to the west someday trough these online services.
I find all the "whoa, so many hateful comments towards Nintendo, did these people come from other sites"-comments really funny. As if you are not allowed to criticize things you like in any way.
Just because a person visits a Nintendo site doesn't mean they love every Nintendo game or EVERYTHING Nintendo does.
I'm just glad someone is making new 3D platformers. Astro Bot on PSVR was amazing and if I had a PS5 I would buy this game right now. I wish this eventually gets a PC release.
Great article! Giygas and the story surrounding the final encounter is one of the most memorable in videogame history. I'm just in the camp that much prefers Mother 3 but I'm glad there's still a very dedicated fanbase for this series that ended in 2006. It's just great that for once there's a Nintendo series that is complete.
Since F-Zero has been brought up in the comment section, I'm going to continue with that: I would really like a new F-Zero like X or GX but I'm also really happy that Aero GPX has been awesome even in Early Access.
I was going to try this with my Netflix family subscribtion but unlike a game like Valiant Hearts Coming Home, it requires the main user of the family to log in. Guess I won't be supporting this game in anyway then.
I've previously played trough 3 and 5 and I was just about to play 1 and 2 on Visualboyadvance. Guess I'll play trough these on the Switch now that Nintendo finally gives a spotlight to this series (last appearance being in Smash Bros as assist trophy).
I've watching this project since the first video. Having a 3D platformer on GBA is really fun to see, like that 3D Asterix game from 2004. I would love to play this on a Game Boy Micro. I don't have one but I tried Pokémon Pinball Ruby & Sapphire on it years ago.
This game is still my cousin's all time favourite game and while I'm not the biggest FPS fan, I've played the 4-player vs. and co-op modes quite a bit with him and other cousins. Interesting to try this online because I last played this game over 6 years ago.
IMO this is the worst Luigi's Mansion game. Do they even have co-op for the main campaign or will this remain as the only single player only campaign in the series?
I still wish you'll be able to play this on the inevitable Switch 2 in 60 FPS.
The original is one of my favourite games but guess I'll just borrow the HD version. I'm not into double dipping games I already own, especially if the old one is 60FPS and the new one is 30.
Does Luigi's Mansion 2 HD have co-op for the main campaign? If it doesn't, it would remaing the ONLY Luigi's Mansion game without a co-op option for main campaign in any version.
They propably don't have anything to show yet. The only new game they had for this year was the Peach that's already out, the rest are just remakes of already existing older games.
@Prizm
Also makes them feel less like a machine rather than a company where people make games.
Great to see Mario Sunshine receiving some love from the modding scene. Super Mario Sunshine has some of the best gameplay mechanics seen in a Nintendo game and it was always a shame they took away Mario dive attack in favor of, ugh... shooting star bits with Wiimote.
Oh wow, maybe I completely missed the news that Sea of Thieves is coming to Switch but I think that's great.
It's good to have options on which platforms we want to play games. Many games on popular, gimmick and obscure systems will be lost to time because there are so many people defending massive corporations and yelling how wrong it's to emulate anything, etc.
Friend of mine bought Zelda TOTK and instead of playing it 30 fps on Switch, he decided to emulate it on PC in 60 fps mode.
Having Sea of Thieves on Switch as an official release actually gives people a chance to play it on a less powerful hardware if they really want to.
@-wc- You have some points here that I want to reply to:
When talking about for example F-Zero (or more spesifically F-Zero GX, one of my all time favourite games) people here on Nintendolife often comment why F-Zero shouldn't get a big new entry because Nintendo wouldn't get maximum profit out of it when compared to like Mario Kart. I like the fact that you brought up the "from the gamers perspective". I like games for both their artistic visions and entertainment value and sometimes it feels like you are only allowed to ask for Nintendo games and series that are non-risky and always highly profitable.
Does Luigi's Mansion 2 HD's main campaign have a co-op like they did with Luigi's Mansion 3 and the 3DS version off Luigi's Mansion 1? Because that would be the only reason I'd play trough Luigi's Mansion 2 again.
That's going to be very hard to achieve. I'm all in for completely different kind of games within the series but they really need to stick to their good ideas for longer than just one game. We still don't have even a decent follow up to Sonic Generations. Sonic Mania was the best 2D Sonic so far and they should have allowed the team to make a sequel without a millionth Green Hill Chemical Plant etc. throwback.
I'm all in for Mario getting great competition since that usually means better games for both series. Having played so many different Sonic games over the years I just can't imagine such a future for Sonic.
I'm borrowing this and only playing co-op with my friend. Since Get it Together is my favourite Warioware game I hope co-op is in every future release in this series.
I'm not close yet but I'm not flipping tables over a free to play game (or any other game) so my choice at 35th place is "Not yet, but I'm getting close".
This is in my top 10 Kirby list. I know it has a lot of problems with no clear indication when certain doors lead to places with no way to return and a a lot of repeating the same areas... but I still liked it enough that I 100% completed this all the way back in 2004 and had a Any% run in 2013. I'm so glad I finally get to experience the 4 player co-op.
Fun fact: back when I first played this, the Boss Rush was the hardest gaming challenge I had conquered. I quess the games I chose to play back then were much easier.
We still need Croc, Tomba and other old-school PS1 platformers for Switch. Oh, and Castlevania Symphony of the Night of course, still one of my favourite Metroidvanias.
@HalBailman I have played both of them with my friends over many, many years and I prefer GX. It would be nice to witness a western release for F-Zero X Expansion Kit though. Having a 3D track editor in a game is something Nintendo hasn't really tried since. Heck, neither F-Zero games with a track editor (X Expansion Kit or Climax) didn't get a western release.

Re: F-Zero Climax Celebrates 20th Anniversary With Free Course
This is probably my favourite of the "2d F-Zeros" so it's nice they acknowledge it's 20th anniversary.

I have NSO Expandong Subscribtion with a full 8 family members... but my country is not on the list.
Whatever, I guess.

Re: Random: Donkey Kong Country 3 Fan Creates Incredible Epoxy Resin Statue
Looks amazing and something I'd like to have in my collection as well. The water effects especially are mi mindblowing.

Re: F-Zero Inspired Racer 'Aero GPX' Launches In Early Access Today
I downloaded the demo already. One of my most anticipated game releases currently. The world needs more games like F-Zero X and especially GX.
Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's GBA Library With Pokémon
Nice, but add DS games next so we'll get Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of the Sky.

Re: Riot Games Reportedly Cancels Smash Bros. Style Fighter Codenamed 'Pool Party'
I don't really care about Riot Games but it's a shame we get one less platform fighter. It's good to have more options to choose from.

@obijuankanoobie
They are fun games and I'm glad it's easy to find and play them. Now if only Nintendo cared about BS Zelda's themselves.
Re: Review: Luigi's Mansion 2 HD (Switch) - The Best Version, But Lacks Extras To Make It Essential
My least favourite Luigi's Mansion and there's still no co-op for the main campaign. It's also more expensive than the original. Hard pass.
Re: Review: Perfect Dark (Nintendo 64) - Perhaps Not Perfect, But Still A Remarkable Achievement
This game is still my cousin's all time favourite game and while I'm not the biggest FPS fan, I've played the 4-player vs. and co-op modes quite a bit with him and other cousins. Interesting to try this online because I last played this game over 6 years ago.

I didn't even know that Gimmick 2 was a thing! Nice!... I'll get digital.
Re: Nintendo Direct June 2024: Time, Where To Watch, What To Expect
I'm expecting a lot of remakes and remasters to keep consumers busy until they finally release a Switch 2.
Re: Round Up: The First "Hands On" Impressions Of Luigi's Mansion 2 HD Are In
I guess this will remain as the only LM game without a co-op option for the main campaign.
I played trough the original and the HD version doesn't seem worth it, even if I borrowed the game for free from the local library.
Re: Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night's Final Content Update Is Out Now
Wait, did they add co-op or was that just abandoned?
Re: Hands On: Luigi's Mansion 2 HD Delivers More Than Just A Hi-Def Upgrade
IMO this is the worst Luigi's Mansion game. Do they even have co-op for the main campaign or will this remain as the only single player only campaign in the series?

Finally, the best Yoshi!

Wow, never thought I'd see the day when Super Mario Land 1 launches on the service like almost two years after SML2.
Re: Nintendo Shares Luigi's Mansion 2 HD 'Rude Awakening' Video
Does Luigi's Mansion 2 HD have co-op for the main campaign? If it doesn't, it would remaing the ONLY Luigi's Mansion game without a co-op option for main campaign in any version.
Re: Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night Is Getting PvP And 'Chaos' Modes
