Re: New Pokémon and Antagonists, Team Skull, Revealed for Pokémon Sun and Moon

LordGeovanni

Everything looks awesome. Including the sandcastle Pokemon. Don't write the fish that high, but still more than fifty/fifty. The newest and pre-volve of Newest are the ones I don't like.

Dark meowth and Ghost/Fire Marowak? Just saw a YouTube video about Persian being dark type last night. And Ghost Marowak confirms the mother Marowak from first gen... 😭 😜

Re: Review: ASH (3DS eShop)

LordGeovanni

@SolarJetman
Have you played the game yourself? It tends to be difficult to list how severely a game breaking glitch should affect the score unless you have played it. I myself have not. In the meantime, I know games that have had glitches that disable the ability to see the ending and still they have a higher score than this. By this review, this game breaking glitch seems to be tied to the random battle encounter system and that might just be a random event anyway.

My point is if you eliminated every single game from having more than a 3 on a particularly bad glitch, you would be having very few games near the top.

Re: NES Visual Compendium Dispute Comes To An End, Kickstarter Resumes For Final 24 Hours

LordGeovanni

Should be interesting to see somebody do this to Disney. You know, screenshots and explaining all the different characters like Mickey Mouse and everybody else that Disney is quite aggressive in defending. Then again would that be infringement?

The only thing confirmed so far is. That Nintendo had a problem. That the seal changed so that it does not replicate the official Nintendo seal. And that the word unofficial was put into the title and the word Nintendo was removed.

I don't think I see any problem with this. But even if Nintendo did demand monetary compensation, how would it even be determined? Maybe we can determine it by how many different pieces are taken from Nintendo? Like you know one on every single page of the book. Maybe instead we can detail how much area on the page each of the copyrighted photos take? Oh wait, the argument is that the photos are just very large. How about if we split based on how long and how much work hours had to be put into the quality? Oh, the amount of time it takes to make a short interview and type up the answers? Very very low. The amount of time required to make, by hand, individual sprites, the coding for the game, the creation of the entire world, storyline, etc... ?

I don't know. Maybe Nintendo was in the right here?

Re: GameStop Enjoys a Sales Spike as it Lures in Pokémon GO Players

LordGeovanni

Everytime I see GameStop make the news on this site I just grab some popcorn and read the comments. So many people are apparently outraged about any minor thing that might possibly happen concerning GameStop. I enjoy the good laugh. Keep it up guys. We all know you guys are just fumbling around instead of actually doing their deals. You can easily get any games that you want almost for free at GameStop if you play their games and they don't really cost more than market value. Best Buy on the other hand...

Re: Review: Infinite Dunamis (3DS eShop)

LordGeovanni

I thought that this was a positive review from Nintendo life about an old school RPG. After I read the negative part I realize that this isn't a shiny Mewtwo but really more of a shiny Caterpie. Enough that you have my interest but I was already interested outside of the review 😛

Re: Pokémon GO Global Rollout Delayed While Niantic Fixes Server Woes

LordGeovanni

@kirk I think you seem to think that 100% of all issues should be completely ironed out before any user ever experiences it. In other words that the company should be 100% perfect and have not one issue. Tell me, are you as hard on other companies as you're on Nintendo? I've noticed you've been very vocal against Nintendo pretty much every time there's a minor issue. People jumping on on an app which was not global at that time. Again, like amiibo, Nintendo assumed fewer people would be involved than actually are. Which of course is actually a reasonable thing, we don't want anything thoughtless spending of money on something that people are not going to use. At the very least the only good thing that Nintendo has possibly done with this, was make it so that you can complain about them again.

Re: Meet Salandit, The Latest New Pocket Monster in Pokémon Sun and Moon

LordGeovanni

Hi. The salamander bandit Pokemon. And salamanders are known for apparently being able to control fire, and making a salamander, often a poisonous animal in nature, Poison type also seems pretty good. The ability doesn't seem like a whole lot to me. Otherwise a new dual typing combination, a new ability, and design doesn't seem that bad to me honestly.

I actually quite liked most of their designs. And I don't expect to like all of the Pokemon.

Re: Takedown Notice May Spell the End for Digger Dan DX

LordGeovanni

@Snow-Dust @ImDiggerDan It was specifically waiting time spent loading. So it did apply to online wait times. It also recently expired. And never was it a proper copyright. If anybody challenged it they would have lost because they didn't come up with the idea nor were they the first to utilize it.

Re: Review: ASH (3DS eShop)

LordGeovanni

I was actually quite eager to look into this and other RPGs recently coming out. I wasn't certain if it was a good buy or not so I decided to wait for the reviews. Instead of any positivity of buying the games, I now have to decide if NintendoLife's reviews are even worth my time.

I do not say that with an easy heart. I love NintendoLife and it's the only place I actually get any reviews from. Unfortunately, I like the old school RPGs. I hate the idea of visible encounters. I am extremely upset with my favorite RPG, Dragon Quest, being turned more into visible encounters and lacking grinding for cash or experience.

Nothing sums it up, my disappointment of these reviews from NintendoLife, more sufficiently than this review. It shows open hostility towards old school RPGs and frowns upon what originally defined the entire genre. "While many modern RPGs, like Bravely Default for example, are moving away from outdated systems, such as random encounters and grinding levels to get ahead, ASH embraces those RPG roots." Not only does Bravely Default still used those Random Encounters engines, but it also includes level grinding. This makes this entire statement not only a falseitude, but it also highlights the negativity towards old school RPG gaming.

After reading this review, I am so sickened by my thoughts of this negativity that I no longer can trust NintendoLife with any RPG review. Don't send me to review a Shooter; Shooters are not my genre. If this person can't appreciate old school RPGs, they shouldn't be reviewing this.

Re: US Retailer GameStop Hoping That Nintendo NX Can Arrest Decline In Hardware Sales

LordGeovanni

@HSuzumiyaVI
If you do we unload a game through the a hops, you are only purchasing the ability to play the game. You are not buying a copy of the game. At any moment in tendo for a third party, if it is a third party game, could require a download patch that could disable your access. Nintendo also has the authority and ability to forcibly delete your game off of your system.

If you check the fine print of the eshop, you do not have an actual game. That is what I was referring to. If you buy a physical game, you will always have it as well as always be able to play it using a physical system. Even multiple years down the road.

Also, are you aware that EB Games IS Gamestop? They completely bought them several years ago.

Re: US Retailer GameStop Hoping That Nintendo NX Can Arrest Decline In Hardware Sales

LordGeovanni

@rjejr
The two different concepts are either a small cartridge similar to the 3DS which would allow a lot of small cartridge use such as storing a lot in a very small area like the 18 game case Nintendo gave out with Club Nintendo.

The other option is to have a cartridge like the N64 or SNES. This would then be able to have a lot of additional storage built-in that's not being currently used. Then Nintendo could put a really great program in the annex and actually write code to the empty storage in the cartridge. You would be able to make a game cartridge completely filled with all the DLC and therefore not requiring any more space on the NX. I would love to see this happen, however I doubt Nintendo would do it. It would potentially open too many doors to Homebrew and piracy.

If Nintendo went with the "same slot in both", it would have to be limited to just small cartridge. Unless Nintendo did some type of double cartridge system, but I doubt that would work.

Re: US Retailer GameStop Hoping That Nintendo NX Can Arrest Decline In Hardware Sales

LordGeovanni

@rjejr I have been thinking a lot myself. I love the aspect of downloading games and having all of them easily accessible. One thing I do not like a lot about download games is the control that I give up over the ownership of the games. I hope, and this is a course far reaching, but I hope I can put the discs or cartridges into the home system and download the entire game as a temporary measure to my portable. Even if it was only a week or a month at a time, it would allow me to have multiple games on me without having to risk losing them or switching them out every so often.

I doubt that would happen. However it is something I dream.

Re: US Retailer GameStop Hoping That Nintendo NX Can Arrest Decline In Hardware Sales

LordGeovanni

I agree with @rjejr on this. If you want to show potential projections, you only detail from one concept. Don't detail from multiple different perspectives with multiple different price tags.

I am more interested in how confident they seem to guarantee physical media. They talk of physical new and physical pre-owned with even the slight comment, although speculation, of how cartridge is much easier to repair. I know how much they cannot, say however that sounds like a definite to me. And physical makes me happy.

Re: Nintendo Plans Corporate Changes That Point to Diverse Business Moves

LordGeovanni

@Sir_JBizzle
Nintendo does not have the manpower to diversify their focuses. If they would purchase some other companies to focus on those merging into the main focus of the company then yeah it would be able to work better.

In the meantime a lot of fans see the same as I. More things to worry about and still the same number of staff. Why are Zelda remakes being brought over to Greco? Why was Star Fox made by Platinum?

Re: Nintendo Plans Corporate Changes That Point to Diverse Business Moves

LordGeovanni

@Syrek24
I see this as a drastically less gaming focused Nintendo. For you to call somebody else out saying that they're a snob for being worried about their passion is an abomination. Nintendo is currently showing apathy in a situation where they are suffering more than the SNES CD-ROM being stolen by Sony and as well Square and Enix both joining Sony on their system. That led to grounds for Nintendo still suffering third parties today.

I'm getting to hate Kimishima more and more everyday. We have had the NX get delayed, Zelda get delayed, Star Fox get delayed. And in the meantime we have movies, restaurants, theme parks. I want games. I want to stop being the one person at work that still supports Nintendo while everybody else is laughing at me for supporting them. I want to be the one who shows off a great exclusive unable to be accessed on Xbox or Playstation.

I know I asked a whole lot, but is it really that much to ask that a game company show me some games I'm interested in?

Re: Rumour: Sources Go to Battle Again Over Nintendo NX Power

LordGeovanni

@rjejr
Yeah the combination doesn't work perfect when people forget to realize it but the handheld and console you're combining so the number is not always perfect for the fan base.

As for my hopes. I want a console hybrid handheld that I do not need TV to be required for most games and I want strong Nintendo game everything else would just be nice for me. And I would rather have my E3 used for something other than just Zelda U. I am hyped but not enough to justify only that from Ninty.

Re: Poll: Did The First Pokémon: Sun and Moon Trailers and Starter Pokémon Get You Excited?

LordGeovanni

I am not surprised at how many people are choosing Rowlet. I am surprised at how many people actually think they're getting Pokemon Moon. I was almost absolute certain Sun would be more interesting for people. However I'm getting Moon because I don't like the daylight time as much as I do the night time. Sun's legendary temps me though.

I hope Rowlet doesn't do a Fennekin and the final form actually looks pretty good. I ended up sticking with Fennekin anyway and ended with a stupid witch. Was quite disappointed in the end and Greninja of course was better.

I really hope they ramp up the difficulty at least 2 times X & Y. There is not a single battle in Gen 6 that bother me whatsoever. And I hope that rival or any other rival is much more interesting than just wanted Pokemon for their dance moves.

Re: Video: A Snappy Analysis of the Pokémon Sun and Moon Trailers

LordGeovanni

As for the Legendaries, I am partial to the "Arcanine MK II" despite planning on picking up Moon. I already decided that Moon would be the lesser appreciated version and I also like night time more than daytime so oh well.

The design for "Batmon" is also interesting. Functionally it wouldnt work for life due to the metal bracers outside the wings preventing them from folding up properly, however when you are a Legendary you are near God anyway and who am I to tell a God their design doesnt work?

Hopefully GameFreak brings back the Day/Night cycle. I liked that a lot but apparently it was removed because kids had a hard time playing at the right time. Maybe instead it will be like Majora's Mask and the day timer will only be 4 hours or so? That way every four hours it will be Day/Dusk/Night/Dawn or whatever and the Legendaries can help you get a Key Item that forces the change to their time of day?

Re: Video: A Snappy Analysis of the Pokémon Sun and Moon Trailers

LordGeovanni

First time it seems that I like the Grass Starter. I am honestly a bit disappointed that the starter types were not changed, but I am not surprised at all. Instead, the beginning with a Grass/Flying (as well as immunity to ground) is interesting. The additional attack mentioned for Rowlet and its design seems good and as long as it isnt like Fennekin I will be quite happy.

Litten is interesting but does not appeal to me at all. I got a similar vibe from Froakie last gen but this time I just find Litten bad to look at. The colors seem too antagonistic to work together. If the Final Evolution ends up being Fire/Dark it would become more interesting for me, but we already have Houndour and Houndoom. I think it would end up being a disappointment.

The least appealing to me is honestly the Popplio. All I see is a Circus Seal. Water type usually doesnt interest me much and seeing this design makes me feel it is suppose to be goofier than I would appreciate. Knowing my luck, it will end up being Water/Ground with one weakness and Rowlet will end as a Grass/Ice with Seven Weaknesses.

Re: Wii U "Disappointing To Everybody" But We're Excited About Nintendo NX, Says GameStop CEO

LordGeovanni

@Flauber
First off I like GameStop, I have never had an issue with GameStop staff. Second as a CEO of a video game company focused for retail, his opinion is highly prized in the gaming market. Among retail stores, GameStop does the most for Nintendo.

I honestly fully agree with this CEO's comments. I feel as though Nintendo just misread the market too much. In another view, the Wii U is exactly what I wanted as a gaming system. I honestly don't see the appeal of a PlayStation 4 or Xbox One at all. I am quite satisfied with my Wii U, including the current amount of games released for it. Even if it doesn't get any more games other than Paper Mario and Zelda U.

Re: Launching NX Next Year Is The "Proper" Thing To Do, Says Nintendo Boss Tatsumi Kimishima

LordGeovanni

I'm afraid I do not have a lot of time to stop and look through all the comments. I just had a quick thought about this. In the United States we have a bit of a saying that you do not change the president when a war is going on, you don't change your mind and you continue with your plans in a serious situation like War.
I just realized that Kimishima is supposed to have a second vote to either become full president of Nintendo or step aside for somebody else and only in September. Delaying the system might be his way of encouraging them to stick with him until the system is out. By that time it'll be too late, he'll be president for multiple years under contract.

Re: Review: Witch & Hero 2 (3DS eShop)

LordGeovanni

I love that the first game and I passed on it initially because of the review. Wasn't until the demo was released that I gave it a second shot. Spent over 25 hours in the game on the demo. Spent another 25 on the game itself. Only reason I haven't gotten this yet as I was hoping that My Nintendo would wise up and reduce its prices for gold coins. Still will be getting this soon.

Re: ReVeN Pushed Back to an Undefined Release Date in 2017

LordGeovanni

Honestly, he is taking the initiative to take responsibility and keeping people informed. Despite that, he should have prioritized the kickstarter program. This is part of the reason why people do not like Kickstarter. At least if he keeps open communication they might be more willing to understand but really it is a bad flaw in his actions

Re: International Game Developers Association Issues Critical Statement Over Nintendo and Alison Rapp

LordGeovanni

@ThomasBW84
No I do not have a strong comment on either side of this discussion, but I wanted to take the time to thank you and the NintendoLife staff for allowing us an opportunity to talk about this but I also want to thank you for closing the comments on that previous article. I too felt that it would have gotten gotten out of control and I wholeheartedly approve of your decision and such.

This follow-up story has given all of us an opportunity to discuss it in a meaningful way and I feel as though it came out the absolute best way for us to discuss.

Re: Feature: Breaking Down the My Nintendo Loyalty Economy, Again

LordGeovanni

The Platinum rewards seems spot-on for me. Exactly as I would expect, good rewards for a little bit of effort behind the scenes.
The gold rewards are horrible and I hate them. The ramp up instead of down means that anything $4.99 doesn't even get you a single point. Additionally, there's no tax which means that I'm basically banned from getting 70 or 80 points at once. Additionally it seems as though all of my rewards get me a grand total of 15% off of games, both Plat and Gold rewards. Nintendo is really trying to get my incentive to buy digital when I need to spend $120 just to turn around and get $4 off at 3DS game I already own.
All I would ask is a few things. Rewards for digital purchases as well as physical. Below $5 purchases getting you Five Points. Physical reward possible although I can see that used sparingly. And most certainly, better rewards for spending money.
