Re: GameStop Lists Spyro Reignited Trilogy For August Release On Switch, Then Takes Page Down

LordGeovanni

@smithpa01
Perhaps because people doing the double -dipping actively encourages the money interested companies into performing anti customer practices in order to get double-dipping to occur? It's understandable when you're getting sick of a practice, if others are contributing to that practice and actively encouraging companies to do that practice it would irritate you.

Re: GameStop Lists Spyro Reignited Trilogy For August Release On Switch, Then Takes Page Down

LordGeovanni

@smithpa01
I think you missed the point buddy. Sounds like they are more upset with the fact the game was probably deliberately delayed in order to foster an environment to encourage double-dipping. If that is their sentiment, I completely support it myself. This concept of buy my game now, but then buy it again when you want something simple like portability is incredibly irritating already. Games should not have versions unannounced when they are releasing other platforms, if they are already in the planning stages, it only hurts the customer and the customer trust.

Re: Damon Baker Joins The Xbox Team

@SmaMan
I agree. Well I wish the best for him, but I cannot say that with Nintendo as my major content provider, I don't feel a sting that he's now working for a company I disagree with.

Re: Sorry North America, You’ll Also Have To Download Final Fantasy X-2 HD Remaster

LordGeovanni

@JaxonH
Straw man argument. I never said that digital games in and of themselves were wrong. I said that the practices behind digital games is something that I disagree with. And regardless of my feelings regarding digital-only games or digital copies of retail games, in this case this is a physical game being restricted to digital restrictions. As a physical-only gamer, That is unacceptable for me. And this current ongoing practice, where a physical game is requiring a one-use digital download, is something I will never accept. Please avoid miscommunicating my focus in the future.

Re: Sorry North America, You’ll Also Have To Download Final Fantasy X-2 HD Remaster

LordGeovanni

@JaxonH
"The biggest offense to your rights is not he who targets those rights, but rather he who stands on the side and does nothing."

I will call out any person, any company, who seeks to reduce the rights of people. My passion is gaming, it is because of that why I am so upset by this. Every time a person stands by and does not argue against these practices, they are contributing to further problems in the future. Activision just released DLC for the most recent Call of Duty. It cost $2 and it's nothing more than a reticle for your weapon. And that same reticle was available for free in previous versions of that game. In the meantime, we also have an abundance of loot box gambling DLC in gaming now. And as the Star Wars game featured, it is paid to win DLC. Just because the version in Southeast Asia is what I want does not mean I am willing to let companies take a pass for doing something wrong.

Re: Sorry North America, You’ll Also Have To Download Final Fantasy X-2 HD Remaster

LordGeovanni

@JaxonH
The problem here is that while both Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2 are full games, this particular release advertises both games together in a collection. And this two game collection is not physical. Half of the collection is. And I do Advocate purchasing the southeast Asia version if people are capable of importing.
''Because if you truly cared about video games you wouldn't let such a trivial thing keep you from half of the best games available.'' My problem with this logic is that this action is a direct degradation of the rights for gamers. Physical games will always be superior to digital games due to your legal rights of owning that game. This is in addition to your right to sell or gift that game at any time. I'm upset because game companies are finding more and more ways to avoid compression in their games, have no care of wasting our space and money for that, and are actively seeking ways to remove our rights as gamers.
To close this out really quick, I disagree that the full game is on disc. And the reason for this it's because this is advertise as a compliation. And half that compliation is not on disc. Personally, I'm canceling my NA pre-order. I am personally considering purchasing a SEA import version, however the effort required to do such makes me want to avoid the game completely. I have not done much importing and I have only started with the first game this month. It would be far more hassle if I screw it up, so to entice me I will personally be waiting for a physical sale price reduction prior to considering an import at this time. It does not mean that I am ignoring the fact the full game is available in a different region. I am merely deciding that the headache of importing and the slight increase of cost for importing has made it an unviable purchase for me at this time.

Re: Sorry North America, You’ll Also Have To Download Final Fantasy X-2 HD Remaster

LordGeovanni

@mantez
Physical games with free DLC, in this case updates, are legally yours. Including the update itself. If you have to purchase the DLC, that data is not yours. It is merely leased to your account. The distinction here is that eventually every game system gets exploited. And that means physical games that are lawfully owned will have the legal access patches and updates in the future. Digital copies of the games we'll also have access to those updates and patches through these same means, however digital copies will not be accessible for anyone who never picked that game if that digital game is removed from the stores or the stores are taken down as is the case with the Wii eShop.

Re: Sorry North America, You’ll Also Have To Download Final Fantasy X-2 HD Remaster

LordGeovanni

@JaxonH
We've had enough discussions between the two of us now that I firmly believe you have some incentive reason why you hate physical sales. You are consistently against physical sales.
At this exact moment I am able to legally obtain any NES, SNES, N64, GC, GB, or GBA Game. And that is because the games physically exist in the world. I can still buy a sealed copy, I can buy a pre-owned copy, I can be given a copy. All those ways are legal. But you want to know what is illegal? Obtaining any digital-only Scott Pilgrim game. They were all removed from the stores and now if you do not have that game you need to purchase a used system with an account still on it that had already purchased those games prior to the games being taken down. And it's against terms of service for you to sell or purchase other accounts. So you have to break ToS if you want to play those games.

Re: Sorry North America, You’ll Also Have To Download Final Fantasy X-2 HD Remaster

LordGeovanni

@duffmmann
The problem with that mentality is that this very month is the death of the Wii eShop. That means that if you have not physically downloaded any game that you "own", you forever lose all access to that purchase.
And if your physical game console gets damaged to the point you can no longer read or transfer from it, you are Sorry Outta Luck forever. My physical game will be playable on any game console that can read it. My physical game cannot have me be permanently incapable of playing it, unless every single console in the world self-destructed.

Re: Feature: Reader's Choice Game Of The Year 2018 Results

LordGeovanni

I feel like the method of getting the readers opinions was not good this year. Having to fill in the games ourselves instead of picking from a list meant that only if you could think of a game was it going to get recognized. I rather like the list option because then we can easily compare games that we might have forgotten about. Overall it just feels like some games like smash were represented multiple times and that could have been because that was one of the prominent games in their mind while other games may have slipped the minds of some and therefore not even were considered.

Re: EA Confirms FIFA 19 FUTMAS Promotional Message On Switch "Wasn't Intended"

LordGeovanni

Reactions like this are exactly why I have not bought an EA game for over twenty years. As much as people hate GameStop, get your games for $20 used instead of 60 if you absolutely must play EA's next games. Complaining about these issues and then buying the next game just tells EA that you truly don't care about what you're complaining about. You need to hit their pocketbook, their ears are already deafened to customer complaint.

Re: Billy Mitchell Live Streams 1,050,100 Point Donkey Kong Game

LordGeovanni

@BulkSlash
He has successfully obtained scores similar to his high scores on system supply to him yes. However the original high scores that he set were not verified at sight and instead had to be recorded by video tape and then sent off for Authentication. Most of these tapes have since gone missing as well.

The dispute here is not over if he is capable of obtaining those scores. The discussion is on if he has cheated by utilizing the MAME software and if not why is he lying constantly.

Re: Billy Mitchell Live Streams 1,050,100 Point Donkey Kong Game

LordGeovanni

@SwitchForce
Who are you talking to? Because at what point in any of my comments have I suggested that I was on Billy's side? The only thing I just stated was that Billy was not banned for life for merely cheating once or twice. I list it out all of the problems that he did. If at any point you suggest that I am supporting Billy in any comment I've made right now, please detail the exact comment number so I can explain to you why you're wrong.

Re: Billy Mitchell Live Streams 1,050,100 Point Donkey Kong Game

LordGeovanni

@DonSerrot
I do agree with most of your point. I just want to reiterate one small part however. Billy was not banned for life for cheating. Billy was banned for life for the combination of cheating, lying about it, manipulating evidence and destroying evidence, and interfering with the investigation into the alleged cheating. I do believe that punishment should be held for anyone regardless of their pedigree. But a single mistake such as using the wrong emulator even if it is intentional would not have warranted being banned for life. It was his willingness 2 undermine the investigation and his willful destruction of evidence while continuing to lie that got him to this position.

Re: Billy Mitchell Live Streams 1,050,100 Point Donkey Kong Game

LordGeovanni

@goggles789
Let me just say goggles, Billy is not a person that I respect. He is not a person that I hate. He is not anyone I have any interest in whatsoever.

But I am interested in speedruns. Billy has routinely made a mockery of speedrun boards, of judges, of the appeals process. He has willingly concealed information to present himself in a better light than is true. He willingly defies the rules and then expects special treatment.

If you particularly feel he's a good person, or that his runs are legitimate, or that you are his personal pool boy, I do not care. I only care that the competition is fair for Speed runs. And unfortunately MAME is prohibited for that purpose.

Re: Billy Mitchell Live Streams 1,050,100 Point Donkey Kong Game

LordGeovanni

@goggles789
I am merely repeating the rules put in place to keep things Fair. The rules are strict in order to make sure everybody has equal opportunity to get the high score and to prevent everybody from trying to exploit the system. Billy willingly ignore these policies and then lied and covered up evidence numerous times to prevent his expectations from being found. It does not matter. He directly went against the policies and he was punished there for.

Re: Billy Mitchell Live Streams 1,050,100 Point Donkey Kong Game

LordGeovanni

@goggles789
MAME is prohibited. If every single Donkey Kong cabinet on the planet exploded killing 50 people each at this exact moment, MAME would still be prohibited. And there is physical cabinetry still in working condition that can be played on.

I cannot make this any more clearer. MAME is prohibited. Billy's problem is not that he used MAME. Billy's problem is that he concealed details, lied multiple times, and is continuing to lie to this day. His punishment was determined to be that he is banned for life. There is no overriding that, there is no appeal, he's already burned every chance he's had. Unfortunately it's his own fault for lying that got him caught. It does not matter if the MAME was in real time.

Re: Billy Mitchell Live Streams 1,050,100 Point Donkey Kong Game

LordGeovanni

@goggles789
It is possible to set up an execute code with somebody that is not familiar with MAME to perform the video. It is also possible for people that are there to aid him in executing the video to exploit people that he is showing the video. Regardless of anything, legit play or video created, MAME is prohibited. This is specifically to prevent discussions like this. To prevent exploitation, to prevent misleading commentary, to prevent dividing speedrun categories and fans. It does not matter if his run is legitimately done by a human in real time. If it was done in MAME, it is not capable of qualifying for speedrun category. In this case, Billy willingly ignored reports that MAME was being misused already and decided to have a speedrun using that emulator, with nature undeterminable (effectively I don't care if it's a real run or not), and then he systematically lied about it multiple times.

Re: Billy Mitchell Live Streams 1,050,100 Point Donkey Kong Game

LordGeovanni

@goggles789
The emulator is merely an emulator. It can create video that appears to be a person playing the game. It is able to create video of the game software operating. That's all it can do, it's a tool. If a human was able to do perfect execution of reaction time and hitting the right buttons at the right time, then it would be possible for any person attempting to learn it in any capacity. That is the problem with TAS tools. If you willingly create a pre-programmed TAS, and please into the test only operations that a human can do, it is completely impossible to determine by video alone if it is a legit person playing or somebody overriding every mistake they make. That is the direct reason why any TAS capable emulator is banned.

Re: Billy Mitchell Live Streams 1,050,100 Point Donkey Kong Game

LordGeovanni

@goggles789
I have indeed used MAME before. In fact I was exploring the emulator technology after I found out about this story. But I am unaware of why you would need to know this information.

It does not matter if I have used MAME prior or not. MAME has other functions that allowed TASS like operations. You can pre-program a game. That immediately disqualifies it as a platform for speedrunning due to its potential to be exploited.

Re: Billy Mitchell Live Streams 1,050,100 Point Donkey Kong Game

LordGeovanni

Billy brought upon himself all of the negativity that he himself grew. Nobody questions that he is good at playing the original Donkey Kong game. However his methods by how he got the scores that he then used to recognize his talent worldwide, those were in flaw. MAME was used by him. It does not matter if his scores in MAME were "legit" or not. If MAME was used, there is no way to prove that the score was untampered.
His reaction to the accusations is what caused all this problem. If he had stopped using MAME when MAME's flaws were discovered and MAME was dismissed, or if he had gone out of his way to admit and prove his skills elsewhere, this would not have been such a big situation.

He is now banned for life. Until he drops dead he is banned and that's my opinion. No extra lives no quarter refunds.

Re: Nintendo Uploads Consumer Service Video Explaining How To Prepare Your Switch For Trade-In Or Sale

LordGeovanni

@Trajan that would only work if they are actively purchasing the used Switches from GameStop. However I would not count that out completely.

@ALinkttPresent usually for GameStop you are trading in a used system for the purchase of a new system. So in that case Nintendo is guaranteeing at least one new system purchase and potentially a new Switch owner when the used one gets purchased. That leads, of course, to more sales of the same games the first owner had such as Evergreens like Zelda or Mario Kart.

Re: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Will Apparently Only Include Two Final Fantasy Songs

LordGeovanni

It is sad to hear this news, but is it really news? I think the only substantial proof of this so far was the smash direct showcasing only two songs from the final fantasy series so far. It's far too soon to suggest that there's only two songs unless anything has been officially confirmed by Nintendo Sakurai or Square Enix.

Edit: I will say that it would not be completely unexpected if this was true. While we don't have set numbers for how many songs per franchise, we do know approximately how many songs total which is over 800. We also know that all together there's approximately 28 hours of songs. That already is detailing approximately 2:06 timelength / song. If that 28 hours specifically designates including the 900-plus sounds, I could easily see the songs increasing up to 3 minutes each. But even at that it is hard to say because we also know that songs are unlockable. It could have been that the smash footage they showed us was from an account that did not have all Smash Brothers Final Fantasy songs unlocked yet.

Re: Pokémon Let's Go Might Be The Final Time Junichi Masuda Directs The Main Series

LordGeovanni

While they could make the difficulty better, what is happening, and what you are suggesting, is making the game even more a waste of time. Giving away free things or dumbing down systems in place is not an answer. It is a division down to the lowest common denominator. While I cannot make informed discussion of Persona 5 (I haven't played it myself), I could discuss the balance that Final Fantasy 8 did. Those enemies directly scaled with your level. They obtained attacks at certain levels and if you were above those levels it would alter the random battles and the actual story battles too. Even bonus bosses had scaled levels.
I could easily see Gym Leaders (and potentially even trainers on routes and in caves) having X number of standard moves and having Y, which is a number of TM moves to make challenging battles. Nothing quite makes a difficult battle like having Lance triple Dragonite team you. But if they had a varying moveset and HyperBeam + Dragon Dance I could see a lot more replay value.

But I would like to touch upon your thoughts on the "Catch em all" tagline. You would say they haven't made the game easier, so I would suggest a typical scenario from Pokemon Blue and Let's Go Pikachu. Both the same area, same pokemon, same everything aside the game makes (and improvements over the gens but I dont think those will factor here.)

Pokemon Blue. Mission? Capture a Clefairy. Get items for search, Pokeballs, potions, status items, Ethers... Go into Mount Moon. Start random battles until you find the Clefairy. Possibly get statused by Paras, or hurt by Geodudes, or Confused by Zubats and smack yourself around. Heal. Keep searching. FIND THE CLEFAIRY Now you need to weaken it and capture it. Let us say you are lucky and capture it instead of killing it. There you go. Mission complete and you earned it.

Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu. Mission? Capture a Clefairy. Step one? Buy supplies, Pokeballs. No potions, or status heals or anything really cause there are no longer random battles. Go find a spot to stand. Wait for a Clefairy. Wait more. Wait some more cause you looked away cause you were bored, and the only clefairy on screen despawned. Alright. FOUND ONE. Throw pokeball and catch.

While one has some "grinding", it has difficulty. It has cost to the actions. It has effort put in. The other? All that "fluff" stripped out is now just causing you to sit in a corner and wait for the "improved gameplay" to RNG a spawn for you. How engaging. This is what I mean when I talk about spoon-feeding, the game gives you what you want and in the end it is even less engaging and while some people like to cheer this on because "it removes that fluff in the way of my fun" it also makes the game vastly shallower. That "Uber Rare Spawn" had no challenge to obtain. No effort to obtain. Well... unless standing in one spot is physically painful to you. But it still shows that these improvements are not improvements.

Re: Pokémon Let's Go Might Be The Final Time Junichi Masuda Directs The Main Series

LordGeovanni

@Frenean
Good luck catching a Mankey in Red or Blue before Brock.
"I'm not going to comment on rare thing cause it is stupid"

And I wasn't commenting on Gen 1 designs. I was commenting on stupid designs to pad the "NEW" count. But good job trying to focus on ignoring my suggestion.

And you know what else is boring? Fighting Blissey that were specifically genned by players so they kill themselves and get you 38 levels each. Or running into 8th Level Gym Leaders with two or three pokemon and they are 20~30 levels below you. The game needs Challenge. And grinding is a way to immerse players into a game. If you cannot stand grinding, then like I said earlier... RPGs may not be your genre of game. But in the meantime, I will continue to give my opinion: grinding is part of the genre at a core level, and Pokemon spoon-feeding everything is making the game weaker overall.

Re: Pokémon Let's Go Might Be The Final Time Junichi Masuda Directs The Main Series

LordGeovanni

@Frenean Grinding is not just depth. It is dedication. Placing effort into something for 5 minutes doesn't make that result lasting to the player. Putting in the time and grind makes things feel worth. Have you ever made a pot? Or painting? And then had it get ruined? It feels a whole lot worse than if it was some cheap $5 vase from Walmart or such. Same thing here. Grinding is dedication. It is effort. And it has meaning to the player for the result. The grind is not the fun part. It crafts the fun part.

And since you brought it up, let us talk the difficulty in the Pokemon games. Because you made a slight mistake in my view. The games have not always been easy. If you go back right now and decide on Charmander in Red or Blue, you are going to have a bit of a struggle beating Brock. And possibly Misty. If you play Gold/Silver, you are going to want to plan out your attack against Whitney's Miltank. Because THAT is how hard those games were.

I would bet that a new gamer, one starting games this year regardless of their age, would have more difficulty with Pokemon Gen 1 or 2 then they would have with Gen 7. But I would also say that it is NOT because of balancing that the game is easier. I would say it is because the game is deliberately made easier and I hate that. Pokemon has effectively become nothing more than a short and easy story to get you through the main game so you can get shoved into the "multiplayer" aspect of Online battles and real life tournaments.

But I will not just sit here and say what is bad. I do not believe pointing out mistakes is acceptable without at least giving potential solutions. For example, if people want shiny pokemon more accessible, why not increase the different # of shiny colors instead of increasing the chance of shiny? Right now I think it is something like 1/4096 with SOS allowing it up to 13/4096 and also being able to use the Shiny Charm to triple that? I would rather have something like three new shiny colors and have 3/8192 chance of getting one. And then you have greater odds of a shiny but less odds of a specific shiny. Allowing for many "improvements" for some pokemon fans dislike and also allowing for new content that should be simple to implement rather than giving us more poor designs like Ice cream cones.

Re: Pokémon Let's Go Might Be The Final Time Junichi Masuda Directs The Main Series

LordGeovanni

@Frenean I hate to have to say it, but if you don't enjoy RNG and you don't enjoy having to wait or grind maybe RPGs are just not for you. Traditional RPGs are turn-based games that require large amount of times to complete. They are immersive stories that drag you in and bring you along for the ride. Pokemon started as this and despite the game makers making the games easier and easier and easier with every subsequent generation, people are now cheating even more than before. And the response is to effectively giveaway incredibly powerful Pokemon through online events or "walking to your GameStop" events. And when that is not enough they almost completely ruin breeding, shiny hunting, IV hunting, grinding, battling, catching... The list goes on... but so does the cheating.

You speak on hoping that RNG is in your favor, but you dismiss the actions in the game already that can benefit finding the nature you want. Synchronize is an ability that specifically is designed for that purpose as well as it's in battle use. But who cares about that just pre-program whatever you want it's only going to cost you money instead of you know actually thinking of ways to get what you need done without resorting to the game maker hand holding you the whole way.

Re: Pokémon Let's Go Might Be The Final Time Junichi Masuda Directs The Main Series

LordGeovanni

@Frenean grinding is a method to overcome adversity in games. It is a method of planning out and making logical decisions on how to advance. Spoon feeding brand new players the most powerful versions of any Pokemon they want whenever they want is not advisable. It weakens the dedication the fans have, and it contributes to either a sense of entitlement or a lack of confidence in their ideas. 'If you are too busy being always beaten by X Pokemon, dump your Y Pokemon and just make an X Pokemon because obviously it's so much superior'. It does not teach. It holds your hand the whole way. And you know what? You want to discuss it being padding? Well I am tired of being done with a $40 or $60 game in 20 hours. I value my time, but I value my money as well. If I enjoy sitting and grinding up Pokemon and deserving the effort of a strong team when I put that effort in, then how are other supposed to tell me that I'm playing a game wrong? In the meantime, why should I feel as though I made a great deal when I am able to get a perfect elite team in 15 hours or less and then only use my cartridge for 20 minutes where I get curb-stomped by people that are then cheating the absolute best team that they can anyway?

They need to step up their cheating detection and ramp up their punishments for cheaters. Not make everything free and easy to justify people cheating in previous games.

Re: Pokémon Let's Go Might Be The Final Time Junichi Masuda Directs The Main Series

LordGeovanni

No offense but good. He has been showing more and more negativity to complex games and recently even discussed that he hated Pokemon eggs. It's been mostly his pushing that's causing most of the games to be significantly easier. I don't understand why people say red and blue is not a starting point for a series when it was the first game and therefore had to be a starting point. I shouldn't be able to literally spam one move and get through 80% of battles without any concern. I appreciate his work, but I am glad to see he's finally stepping down.

Literally minutes after I posted this, I just found out that in Pokemon let's go you can pay an NPC to force a particular nature on all wild Pokemon you encounter. No more grinding out the natures you need or using hold items to coerce the natures you need you need. This is actually upsetting me right after that great Smash direct

Re: It Looks Like The Official Super Mario Encyclopedia Plagiarised A Fan-Made Wiki

LordGeovanni

@Mortenb
There's also citing source. While Nintendo cannot legally steal their own game in any fashion, it is still Nintendo's responsibility to cite sources of where the obtained game came from. If there was effort put into something that then your company turns around and uses it is your responsibility to cite and recognize the efforts put in prior. That would be evident if Nintendo had "stolen" the Virtual Console games they should have cited that in the credits. Just like in this case, Dark Horse using somebody else's efforts, Dark Horse should be signing those locations and in addition informing those locations.

Re: It Looks Like The Official Super Mario Encyclopedia Plagiarised A Fan-Made Wiki

LordGeovanni

@SwitchForce
It still is what its name says it is. Nintendo still signed off on it it was still compiled by Dark Horse, it doesn't directly affect what has happened. At best I would say put a sticky note in the book mentioning that several sources were taking from the Super Mario Wiki. It still is a collector value item. Especially if there is a recall due to this issue. But your purchase is still valid and your purchase is still following the intentions of the book. There should be no shame in enjoying the book for that purpose.

Re: It Looks Like The Official Super Mario Encyclopedia Plagiarised A Fan-Made Wiki

LordGeovanni

@Razzy @Stocksy

For the sake of saying it, it was proven that Nintendo did not steal ROMs of their games.

Http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YCro3FHKdHA

Spawn Wave looks very closely at information that recently came out. Long story short is that pretty much Nintendo created and internal ROM dump for Animal Crossing on GameCube.

The information he looks at is also cited in the description and allows you to look at the individual data he is looking at as well.

Re: The Pokémon Let's Go Series Could Progress To Johto If Players Enjoy Lets Go Pikachu And Eevee

LordGeovanni

This is literally nothing more than gamefreak saying they're already working on let's go generation 2. There is absolutely no doubt in anyone's mind that lets go is not going to sell enough for them to "justify" Generation 2. I absolutely hate this idea and the entire idea of let's go, but who are they trying to fool? They obviously want let's go to be a major success and I don't think I will be buying many Pokemon games from now.

Re: Nintendo Files Patent For Game Boy Case Compatible With Touch Screen Devices

LordGeovanni

This is interesting. I don't know if I would appreciate it for too many games, but if they had a version of this and the ability to download the VC games on my phone I would be interested. Make one that's sideways for GBA and then have a sign in like our switch accounts that then carry a compliation of games that we download which one we want and be able to play that on the go. And we need space on our phone we can delete one and it just be stored in our purchase history for redownload later.

Re: Reggie Says Wii U's Failure Ultimately Led To Success Of The Switch

LordGeovanni

I figured either the Wii U was a beta switch or the switch was a drastically improved Wii U. With this I feel Nintendo is at least listening when there's major problems with systems. Now if only they could listen to us about the Virtual Console and Nintendo online and that stupid phone app.
Unfortunately it sounds like most of these issues are coming from Nintendo of Japan forcing the issue. NOA sounds like it understands the issues but NOJ is insisting.

Re: Nintendo Spends Big On Television Advertising In Month Of August To Fend Off Spider-Man

LordGeovanni

@Majora101
I did not realize about the subtle politics inserted into Spider-Man. That actually upsets me.

@Agramonte
I feel the same way as you do about Dragon Quest 11. Definitely one of the best Dragon Quest ever made. And it is exactly what I hope for, for a traditional RPG. I never fully understand why people want to push so hard on action adventure or action RPG but constantly harass people who enjoy traditional RPGs. I just hope this trend of powerful traditional RPGs continues.

Re: Nintendo Spends Big On Television Advertising In Month Of August To Fend Off Spider-Man

LordGeovanni

I will flat out being completely truthful here. I do not have a PlayStation 4. All my reaction to Spider-Man is purely through someone else.

But that game, it has none of my interest. What actually causes me to stop in wonder, Dragon Quest 11 is quite possibly the best traditional RPG I have ever played. I would call it better than Final Fantasy 7. And I'm having a hard time deciding if it's better than Final Fantasy 9. And I have a hard time determining if it's better than Dragon Quest 7 and I know I very very heavily have nostalgia for 7. And I honestly am considering it my game of the year. But I doubt any major group is actually going to consider that game for Game of the Year. With Smash Brothers, Pokemon and Spider-Man I don't think it has a chance. And that actually upsets me a bit.

But in keeping with tradition, Square Enix has underperformed in ads for Dragon Quest 11 in my opinion. But it also pisses off my Sony friends when they find out I went out of my way to buy a gaming laptop just to play Dragon Quest 11. They are apparently still upset I do not have a PlayStation 4.

Re: The World Ends With You: Final Remix Won't Support The Switch Pro Controller

LordGeovanni

This is actually a bit disappointing. My joycons broke after about 1600 hours of playing games so I bought myself a pro instead of replacing them just yet. So effectively I have no controller that I can easily play this game with.

That said, I'm still pissed at Square Enix teasing a mobile Port of this a couple years ago and now it looks as if we now have the mobile Port coming to console with the core mechanics of game already broken so I don't even know if I was going to buy this new anyway.

EDIT: for the sake of it, I just looked up some more footage from the game and it is beyond clunky how they've designed this. The original concept of this game was "make it do everything." Every different type of action you could do with a DS was supposed to have some way of being implemented in the game. And we start begging for a sequel as soon as it's done and Square Enix basically tells us to screw off. Then several years later they give us a teaser specifically using Twewy art, all for just a mobile port. And then they crippled the game Concepts just to be able to put it on mobile.

And now past the 10-year anniversary of it coming out, we still don't have any sequel or anything else at all. But we're getting a port of a port. and the concept is gone and the controls look like they suck. I don't even think I would buy this version for twenty bucks.

In this case I would be saying worse as in more of an epidemic. Those hacks that you were referring to from Gen 4 were quite noticeable and eventually dealt with. These cheaters have things that appear to be perfect and therefore tournament organizers are willingly turning their heads and allowing it to happen despite the mathematical improbability of it all. And it is that exact problem that is allowing this to be much bigger now.

And who exactly are you to determine if I'm enjoying the game enough or not? If I see a problem with a game I'm enjoying, a game series that have grown up with, I'm going to speak out. You shouldn't really assume that you have the authority to tell me to stop playing based on that alone.
