Re: Feature: Our Team Reflects on a Week With Nintendo Switch

LordGeovanni

@msvt
The Wii U actually had plenty of games. And Nintendo did a pretty good job with it. I have at least 20 games I recommend for it.

And try not to misunderstand the oddity of the "Wii gen". 7th gen was unnaturally lengthened. PS3 and Xbox360 had hard HD growing pains and that let Nintendo sweep with the Wii. Nintendo only delayed those growing pains for the Wii U though.

Basically, Gen 7 was unnaturally long, not gen 8 being unnaturally short.

Re: Feature: Our Team Reflects on a Week With Nintendo Switch

LordGeovanni

I am quite happy with the Switch. Not many games yet, but will improve with time. I haven't had any issues with my Switch that others reported so that is also cool.

Only issue I have is a crack in the back of the system. Just happened within the last day. Goes around the bottom screw near the Left JoyCon, (-). Very small, but the screw was probably too tight. Probably will message Ninty to report it.

Re: Editorial: 'NX' Development Documentation Gives Few New Insights, But The Leak is Far From Ideal

LordGeovanni

@Einherjar
The significant thing however, is that Nintendo still has the right to limit the information. You have the same right to not buy. If Nintendo isn't releasing the info you want, you vote with your voice (like your posts) And your $.

If the possibility of having to buy games again is something you don't want to risk, I support you waiting.

I acknowledge the risk of having to repurchase, I am still buying day-one. (Which I have NEVER done before.)

Re: Editorial: 'NX' Development Documentation Gives Few New Insights, But The Leak is Far From Ideal

@electrolite77
Game companies are also 'entitled' to prevent their information from being released outside of their scope. People are entitled the ability to buy something they don't fully understand. If game companies refuse to give that information now, and people are still going to buy it, then they will - they are Entitled to that. If they're not willing to, then they are entitled to keep their money.

Re: There Are Currently 'No Plans' For Final Fantasy XV On Nintendo Switch

LordGeovanni

I am not surprised honestly. It would be one of the more technological marvels of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. On another view, maybe we can start tweeting out encouraging Square to look at the switch more often, consider this game, consider that game. Nintendo fans that want these games on the Switch really need to be taking the initiative, not the 3rd party company, not Nintendo, but the fans prove that we have a demand.

Actually I have compared Nintendo to the mob before. It is actually a good explanation of the current system. The mob/yakuza tend to be tough, harsh, and inflexible. They also tend to have a level of standards.

I have a bigger problem with Sony and Microsoft. They tend to act more like gangs. Harsh policies, demands of "exclusives", Bad contracts, and mudslinging are common now.

Re: Princess Zelda is "Very Complex and Multi-Faceted" in Breath of the Wild, Aonuma Explains

LordGeovanni

@greengecko007

There is also no specific reason why Mario must be a guy. Before anybody starts demanding a female Link, I would rather see a female plumber jumping up and down pipes and squishing Goombas. Or perhaps we can have the entire Zelda cast get gender-swapped. I would love to see a female Ganondorf beating the tar out of a male Zelda, and then have people defend that as not being sexist in any way. Or perhaps we should deal with the fact that Metroid focused on gender (at the end of the game) and now if it doesn't focus on gender, if Ninty made Samus a male, people would flip out.

Link is not an avatar. Link is a fleshed out character. If I can describe Link as an individual character, then he can't be an avatar. Left-handed, blonde, androgynous. Courageous. Daring. These are all aspects of a character, not a faceless Avatar.

Can we demand a female Master Chief prior to having a female Link? Can Castlevania's Dracula be defeated by a female first? Can we have Mega Man go through a sex change prior to Link go through a sex change? I honestly don't see anybody complaining about that.

And you also seem to ignore the Canon timeline while you decide to say that there is no Canon timeline.

Re: Princess Zelda is "Very Complex and Multi-Faceted" in Breath of the Wild, Aonuma Explains

LordGeovanni

@Wexter I actually had a thought during Link Between Worlds. How did Ravio get those items? He is supposed to be the Link of Lorule, right? Suppose in his cowardness he actually snuck into the Dungeons and stole the items. He isn't strong enough to save the day for the princesses, but he is strong enough to sneak in and steal the item that Link needs to do the job. I would think that would make an interesting game. Metal Gear Solid sneak in steal the item return it to the hero.

Now imagine if the main character of a game, instead of Zelda, was somebody like Impa from OoT. Strong character strong female to play the game and it definitely would be something I would enjoy playing.

Re: Princess Zelda is "Very Complex and Multi-Faceted" in Breath of the Wild, Aonuma Explains

LordGeovanni

@greengecko007
Link's gender in the game is just as important as Mario's gender during his game or Samus's gender in her game.

He haa had too much development as a game character to be an avatar anymore.

Pretty much that is my exact reason for not liking the idea of a female Link. If they designed the game so that Zelda was playable from the beginning or another new character was designed, I would have no problem.

@nhSnork
Thank you for this comment. Crying is perfectly acceptable in this situation. I honestly, as a male well into his adulthood comma started crying like a newborn child when I found out this week my babysitter passed away. If I was ever to ridicule a video game character for being upset that their entire kingdom's being destroyed, I would have to ridicule myself for the same.

Re: Nintendo Switch Has 32GB Internal Memory, Expandable With Micro SD Cards

LordGeovanni

I am completely happy with this. I hope that 512GB or 256GB is supported, but I certainly expect 128GB to be supported and that should be enough for me. I think I only have a 64GB in my 3DS and I am only now filling that up, and I just ceared 15GB of junk Demos and stuff.

Either way, the cost of the MicroSD will only go down. The longer you hold out, the cheaper it will be later. I like this idea more than releasing another system in a year that is simply (+500 GB) like PS4 and XboxOne did.

*Edit: I realized that I only could have a 32GB. I have that ._.;

Re: Nintendo Apparently Told Square "Never Come Back" After Losing Final Fantasy VII To Sony

LordGeovanni

Honestly, after Sony tried to cripple the game market and then stole the concept and specs of the PlayStation, Square made a bad choice. However, Square WAS already working on CD after they heard him tendo was coming out with the SNES CD player. I'm certain both sides were highly agitated at that point. It is good to see that the hostilities are not as apparent now as they were back then. Then again, I am still worried about the remake of 7 coming out horrible as it seems to be already. I honestly don't know why square is making an RPG series into an action-adventure.

Re: The Legend of Zelda 30th Anniversary amiibo Provide Food and Goodies in Breath of the Wild

LordGeovanni

@SLIGEACH_EIRE
Got to love your "nintendo sux" mentality. Good amiibo? Why can't I have nice things??? Bad amiibo? Well of course. Amiibo sucks anyway.

I already bought all 4 amiibo. Quite happy with the price. This also seems like a nice little bonus and if it is once per day it isn't broken. It also makes Wolf Link more valuable as you have to "raise" it in TP to be better than average anyway.

Can't wait for this game πŸ˜ƒ

Re: PokΓ©mon GO Daily Bonuses Update Begins Rollout

LordGeovanni

@DanteSolablood buggy servers are probably still a round, but I don't think that is the case here. I only got the problem on my way home last night (about 14 hours ago). The update was active and I got my daily quests, but I also missed out on 10 pokestop that I normally collect. They all just said "Try again later." Additionally, I could gather Pokestops after I sat long enough for PokΓ©mon to spawn. And again, after I turned the app off and then on again, I could spin Pokestops I until the speed warning activated.

Re: PokΓ©mon GO Daily Bonuses Update Begins Rollout

LordGeovanni

Based on my experience yesterday, Pokestops now also block you from accessing anything if you are going above 30 miles an hour. You also need to remain stationary for about 20 seconds prior to the game allowing you to access a Pokestop after you stop going 30 miles an hour.

Basically, if you are a passenger, Niantic doesn't care at all.

Re: PokΓ©mon GO's Designer Wants You To Look Up From Your Phone

LordGeovanni

I've been playing this game non-stop since it came out. The one thing I've learned about Niantic is that they do not want people having fun, they want people exploring the world. Half of all updates seem to be reducing what you can do because it's not what they want you to do.

Even the Pokemon go plus is an attempt to get people to not look at their computer screens or phone screens and instead keep an eye out on everything else around you. Button-pushing simulator doesn't sound as good as Pokemon go.

I wish they would either cut out the nonsense of trying to force me to go all the place, looking at places that I have already seen, or just burned the game down and let everybody go. It already looks like they are making the second option a reality.

Re: Daily Bonuses Are on the Way to PokΓ©mon GO

LordGeovanni

What would I like? How about some increase to achievements like the catch rate up? Or a tracker improvement, even if it is just a circle around me on the map. Or maybe a way to see gym stats from farther away. Or perhaps a way of getting a second permanent Incubator? Or how about new pokeballs that work much better on specific types?

Re: Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima Feels The 3DS Can "Continue In Its Own Form"

LordGeovanni

@GravyThief
But they are "covering" the collapse of the console pillar, not the handheld. Between the two, the 3DS is much better off than the Wii U. If the "Third pillar" concept was to collapse a pillar, Nintendo (and not to mention many fans, me included) would prefer it to be the console and not handheld pillar.

It also seems like the Switch will mostly be console gaming on the go, not traditional handheld gaming. If that is the case, it would be easy to decide which platform any particular game should be on.

Re: New Version-Exclusive PokΓ©mon, PokΓ©mon Refresh and More Shown Off for Sun and Moon

LordGeovanni

@Mega_Yarn_Poochy
what exactly is your comment referencing? My comment about the Z moves being stupid? Until we start getting some more specifics about the moves, it doesn't matter how many of them they show.
We still do not know if the move's power changes based on on the original move that the Pokemon knows. We do not know if it requires certain terrain elements. We do not know if it inflicts statuses or reduces stats.
Until we know any of this stuff, announcing more moves is nothing more than saying that more Z moves exist. We still don't know what they do. And it is just a waste of our time sitting here trying to consider what they do.

Re: New Version-Exclusive PokΓ©mon, PokΓ©mon Refresh and More Shown Off for Sun and Moon

LordGeovanni

I hate this entire trailer. I'm getting Pokemon Moon so I don't get the rugby player I want. I don't get the evolution of Rockruff that I want. Starters are now version specific. The new Z moves are stupid and add nothing to the game play that another hold item would not. Customization was already confirmed when Battle Royale was shown and eevee only having known Eeveelutions was confirmed at e3.
