It isn't even really about the box to me so much as it is just having something tangible if I'm going to be paying that kinda price in particular(ie cart). Throw in the big delay and that's just asking people to lose interest(not even entirely blaming them since 2020 is a hot mess anyways).
That's why I'm not getting the game [right now]. I just don't feel that kinda price is justified if I don't feel a sense of security in 'owning' it.

Coming from someone else who is a sole Switch owner, would much rather have a physical copy, and has crap internet (currently live in a rural area where even call signal can be a lil dodgy), I don't inherently have a problem with this. My main gripes, like others have expressed, are price(yeah... quite a bit steep for the nature of play) and the fact that you'd hope it's a last resort effort to at least have the game decently available as opposed to a copout, ala EA w/ this Fifa legacy mess(yeah, dif kinda laziness but... ). I mean it's a shame it isn't exactly available to someone like me, but I guess at least the option is there so others don't feel totally left behind.
Speaking of portability, I play like 95% portable on my Switch since I'm on the go a bit, so, while I mayyy consider a 'next gen' system(just hate being tethered to a TV for gaming nowadays), a part of me wishes Sony would surprise us with a 'Vita-comparable' alternative to the Switch. 🤷🏾♂️ xD That thing deserved way more love than it got. :l

Where the game falls short is there isn't toooo much content. A game of this nature just screams (Free?) DLC/updates to add more boards, minigames, etc. and Nintendo just left it to dry.
It's a shame how much of a bad rep MP has nowadays but it really is Nintendo's own fault when they refuse to treat it like it deserves care.
As someone who was very excited about getting the Switch version, I've been almost turned completely off of it. From simultaneous launch in March to 'release info coming very soon' in July to here we are in almost October and it's just more of this more info 'coming soon' stuff.
I can understand delaying it from launch since Switch is something else unfortunately, but here we are ⅔ of the year after the fact and we haven't even seen the game running, let alone any true release info. At least with Bayonetta 3, it's an exclusive so we don't have to stew over watching other consoles get to play it far sooner.
The game has long since been for a bargain on PSbox and, if you were already getting next gen anyways, you'll get a(n upgraded?) copy for totally nothing to play on that system as well, meanwhile we haven't so much as gotten a miniclip of how the game will s'posedly look...and for full price no less. >_>

I actually hardly saw -any- regular balloons the entire event until that last update a couple days ago, which is weird as heck if Bunny Day wasn't s'posed to interfere at all then. I think I only have one Sakura/cherry blossom recipe.

Not to mention, as I mentioned before, I'll obviously remember this event because it screwed me out of getting pretty much anything cherry blossom/Sakura related.

@Aldora It's one thing where I'm not sure if it differs based on where you live or by belief, but most places I know... while the work week starts on a Monday, Sunday is actually considered the start of the week.

Ughhhhh, Platinum has to be trolling with Bayonetta 3!! It's been brewing for a good while now and we still haven't seen jack pretty much. D: Haha, this wait is killin' me. xD
Out of this infographic though, I'm looking forward to DOOM Eternal and Animal Crossing: NH the most, with Pokémon Mystery Dungeon a lock still, too. Also should be grabbing Darksiders Genesis and Outer Worlds... and Snack World has my interest still as of now.
