CD Projekt Red has announced that The Witcher III: Wild Hunt Remastered will launch on Switch 2 on 29th September 2026.

Boasting updated visuals, enhanced combat, improved traversal, and much more, the update is said to be free for all owners of the game. How this works on Switch 2 is unclear, but we'd imagine those with digital copies will be able to upgrade for free, no bother. We'll need to get come clarification on physical copies, though.

Chances are if you have the cartridge on hand, the game will simply download the necessary data for the Switch 2 upgrade, but we'll provide definite details ASAP.

The upcoming expansion, titled Songs of the Past, has also been confirmed for Switch 2.

It's clear at this point that no confirmation was provided earlier this year due to the humble Switch 1 being unsupported. However, with the existence of the Remastered version on the successor console, we can look forward to some brand-new content too.
