Considering the timing(less than two months) from the official release of Gen 8, this was definitely the plan either way.

@SmaMan Haha, you're definitely referring to Stadium/Revolution. Colosseum/XD had their own story(ie Shadow Pokémon). You wouldn't be lying about a new Stadium-like game though, since that is revolved around battling.

Heck, since we're talking spinoffs full blown now, can we ever hope to get Pokémon Channel back? 😹😹😹

@SmaMan You Ain't Lyin'!! I never thought we'd see the day they would get back to a Poké spinoff that isn't mobile. It's a shame that it really has only been a port(Pokkén) and this remake but at least, so far, it seems thought has been put into it. I'm about to download the demo pronto.

This brings me a sliver of hope that we get a new Colosseum/XD game.

Finally downloaded Dream Daddy: A Dad Dating Simulator recently and so far it's been amusing so I have little issue outside of the fact I wish it had more customization options, ha.

This is one of my most anticipated series returns!(because the original duo is arguably my favorite set of games ever)

We're gonna have to wait almost a decade in-between ea installment now it seems, so it should be time now...like dang! ó.õ

sigh I wish those Mario Party sales would've kicked them into gear as far as DLC goes. Real fun game that should've been a prime candidate for it and they even seem to hint at it in game...

@johnvboy #37 That's pretty much what I've done. I honestly forget that Gen 8 even exists tbh, since I also agree it's a big letdown... that and I'm having too much fun with Dragon Quest 11 atm. 👌🏾💯

It's a real shame, mainline Pokémon being the series that I've always gotten if nothing else, but I ain't giving them a cent until I feel it's worth it again. Looks like a remake is my only interest until we can get some dang spinoffs finally(which, unfortunately, doesn't look likely since they appear to have sold out to mobile).

I'm not sure if someone answered above whether or not you need to keep em all downloaded on your system or if you can get rid of em after you 'buy em'(get free) so they're simply in your possession.

Just makes you wish they would give you the whole thing like 3DS did if they have all this tracked, even if it still only showed our most recent activity to friends. My first ever game played was Super Bomberman R...oh the memories, ha.

@Hissscratch139 That's what I intend to do. As long as you grab them while they are free, you should be able to delete them if they are eating up space and get them back anytime you feel like it.

@CodyMKW Isn't HHD a spin-off? I don't remember caring to play it much to recall if there was an option. Either way, I'm surprised they were so late to the party on that and I'm glad that it's finally here in the main game.

As I mentioned in the other post, it's about DANG TIME they add a skin tone option. One of my main gripes finally solved. Having to keep up with that stupid 'tanning' bs or use my mii mask or w/e was super annoying.

Really looking forward to this at any rate because AC is a fun series and about as evergreen as you can get.

This is a cute lil touch but I'm just glad in general it's about frickin' time they seem to let you pick different skin tones without having to resort to that bs 'tanning' mess.

Makes me miss Streetpass so much, ha. Wish we had it on the Switch. 😦😗

It's funny how you can watch gameplay (not just read words on a review), which is as close as you'll get to actually playing, to get a good enough read on whether you find a game worth it or not yet you're still a 'hater' like anyone who doesn't view the game as anything but a 9-10. lulwut? ☠️☠️

This isn't a $3 eshop title or even a $40 3DS game. Why in the heck would you waste $60 to play a game that doesn't look like it'll personally live up to the value that's being asked?(this goes for any game) That is a biggg gripe here.

It'd be different if they released a demo like Let's GO had. I more than likely would've downloaded that.

ETA - Ex: Even though I liked the look of game, the demos for Daemon x Machina are what totally sold me on the game(which I wasn't entirely sure about from a price standpoint).

The Touryst sounds good(it's by Shin'en at that!) and idk why Monster Bugs Eat People sounds amusing... is it a new title or coming from elsewhere? I love random niche games. A number of games in my collection fit that bill, so I may have to see if I see anything on it.

@penamiguel92 Not seeing what you're getting at? I haven't bought either and have no plans to buy Shield(my initial interest), barring some freak discount.

It leaves me some extra cash for any Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales that might pop up, so it's all good.

@Ttimer5 Yeah, this I just see as an opportunity to catch up on other stuff I hadn't gotten around to. While I'm having fun wrapping up Crash Team Racing right now, Dragon Quest should definitely be one of the next couple of games I jump into; loved the demo!

A new Mystery Dungeon would more than likely make me happy now, too. Hell, a Colo/XD sequel finally would make me really happy right now.

Thinking these truly wouldn't sell well, even with the controversy, was always bound to be crazy. Congrats on the sales, though it's still a shame.

I am really concerned though that even a Gen IV remake at this point would be stupidly stripped of Pokés, too. :/ I'm not the biggest fan of Sinnoh, but I do tend to like the remakes, and now I can't be 100% excited for that.

Why the heck has other game development sold out to mobile btw? We've had virtually no console spin off games. At least a battle/mystery dungeon game would likely give us the freedom of having all our favorites again. Virtually the only hope rn. 😿

@sikthvash I miss Streetpass a lot! I literally had a set route of locations in town that I would do a quick run by in my free time to collect my hits. 😆😆☠️ It was a neat lil incentive to be out and about.

I'm pretty sure I completed every single Streetpass game and puzzle, too, last I checked. Except for that frickin fish minigame where I'm peeved off I'm still missing one last rare one... >_>

@rallydefault They do seem kinda bare as far as landscapes(from what I've seen) but I'll admit that what's there looks very pretty. I've never been one to care about graphics as long as a game isn't 'ugly', ya know? I mean look at Ys Viii graphically...yet that is one of my favorite games on Switch to date!

And I agree about a demo. I bet even a lot of 'haters' would've downloaded that even if they had no intention on buying the actual games. 😆

@rallydefault Yep, I got you on that one, ha. I've actually learned a number of things from a close friend offline who has kept some tabs on the games. Ofc I've checked things out online(I mean here I am on the soap opera as of late known as NLife xD) but, as far as that online "drama"(ie the crazy arguing by those for/against the game), I meant you implying that I use it as some sorta ultimate say on what I get/don't get.

Trust me, I have a number of random games in my collection that have hardly had a word said about them online and some that have reviewed poorly 😂, so I wouldn't really agree on the social media having a huge bearing bit. 🤷🏾‍♂️

While I am sad @ the games, I'm not of the same crowd that is calling for the games to be banned, threatening GF, justifying the extreme scores, and all that craziness, so I'd rather not be lumped with them.

@sanderev I'm pretty sure npcs have mentioned it I mean(isn't it in a dish from that one hotel in XY?) It's also been in the item description since forever in the games that it tastes good.

I don't remember much about the anime mention offhand. I DO remember very early on in the anime, in that shipwreck episode, everyone was dreaming up ways to eat the Magikarp that James got conned into buying. I thought it was kinda disturbing, heh. 👀

To answer your other question though, I've already said I have no interest in trying the game outside of a discount, mainly due to the lack of pokémon I care about making the cut.

Unfortunately, I won't have time to play much, but I might finally get around to some side missions in Daemon x Machina I've been meaning to finish. Otherwise, it's just periodically checking in on my apple tree for Kirby Super Clash.

I'm with everyone wondering why the heck Kamiko is absent from this list. Great lil game, and cheap(it's even gotten the odd sale).

Pokémon used to be -the- first party game, particularly the core entries, that caught my attention if nothing else, so it's pretty saddening to see the first home console experience(which at first was a dream come true) botched pretty badly imo.

I immediately wanted Shield upon reveal and then that just went up in smoke after all the drama surrounding the games. :/

I truly hope they aren't joshing us when it comes to the potential of our favorite pokés coming back. Doesn't seem like a guarantee it'll be anytime soon judging by their s'posed logic of 'it has to fit the theme of x region'.

I won't be getting either, for numerous reasons I've listed before(virtually none of my favorites being available, barely a post game, not enough interest in the new dynamax battles, I won't be able to enjoy raids it seems, etc.).

I mayyyy consider my original interest in Shield when the games finally get discounted(which ain't happening for a loooong while obviously), but $60 in its current state? Nawww.

Unfortunately, there's nothing out this week that catches my attention offhand. No worries though, I have a few games I've marked on my wish list that I've yet to grab so that'll keep me busy right now.

@Spudtendo How do I restart my collection if there are virtually no pokémon to choose from that I personally care for in SwSh? I didn't expect a full pokédex after the announcement of cuts, so I didn't expect to have every single favorite make it in, but this severe of a cut to where I have like no pokémon to look forward to? That's sketchy at best. I usually mix old with new, but without even the option, my interest is shattered.

I have zero interest in the gig/dynamax mechanic, tbh, and I likely won't have Switch Online to enjoy raids, so what is there exactly?

Like I said, chances are I'm just skipping Sw & Sh/Gen 8 until we see how the next game(s) pan out. No biggie really. 👀

Based on what we already know, minus Umbreon, next to -none- of my favorites made the cut. Even with such a huge cut, like what are the chances that I have basically nothing to look forward to Dex-wise? Not going to lose sleep over it, but it's still very strange, tbh with you, as I was so looking forward to Gen 8 at first. This going open world was a big attraction...
