I’ve been waiting over half a decade for a new style savvy game too. In fact, I’ve waited more than 11 years for a new Nintendogs game, and 8 years for a new Tomodachi Life game. 🤔
Miitopia because I wish Tomodachi Life would come out on switch, and this is a distant cousin. And Kirby’s Dream Buffet because that’s the cutest game ever 💕
6 years from now, Nintendo will be like, here’s all the stuff from Animal Crossing New Leaf that you wanted but we left out of New Horizons. Here, it can be yours for only $34.99! (Adjusted for inflation).
I’ve been saying this for years and everyone just complained at me and harassed me for it. But I’ve been part of this game business for 45 years. What they do now is indeed laziness and nothing more, when they make these incomplete games and worse - charge full price for them!
They really need to release more games. Good, widely appealing first party titles. Here are a few suggestions: Style Savvy Nintendogs Tomodachi Life Super Mario Classics: the first 3-4 Super Mario games with a fresh coat of paint and new features, like the way Sonic games have been done.
I’ll be playing several games including Ridge Racer on 3ds, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on switch, Pac-Man Museum… and speaking of which I’m also finishing up a needlepoint I created of an entire Pac-Man maze with Pinky, Inky, and Blinky, plus Pac-Man, and the cherries. All inspired by the classic arcade version of Pac-Man 😁
Nintendo is NOT open to making new titles and remakes because there are two games that were incredibly popular on 3ds that are very much wanted on switch, that they still have not made. Style Savvy, and Tomodachi Life, both of which have change . org petitions, the latter of which has amassed more than 16,300 signatures! So what does that tell you about Nintendo being open to remakes?! Still nothing being done. 🤷🏻♀️
This speaks volumes about their poor quality in recent years, doesn’t it? They are actually conceding that they can’t make anything of good quality AND they are trying to make customers pay for that mistake. Unbelievable.
Vast set of games here, although my favorite is the puzzle one, and I wouldn’t mind having it as a physical copy (despite also having it on GBA and PS1), but thankfully they are releasing the digital version of Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo on July 21, for $3.99 USD, and it’s already in my wish list on the eShop. All but one of the fighting games don’t interest me. 🤷🏻♀️ And that one will be available also for $3.99. I love that they are releasing all these separately so we can pick and choose the ones we want!
@TryToBeHopeful that’s actually completely untrue. Because that same reasoning would mean everyone in the world can use all my downloaded content I have across all my iPads, my purchased iTunes music, my cell phones, smart televisions, 3ds digital games, PlayStation digital games, Xbox digital games, etc. Which they cannot. It’s just Nintendo which has this ludicrous policy of checking your credentials every single time you play a digital game. Maybe they are not technologically advanced enough to figure out how to get that “one and done” signature.
If we PAY for a game, and we PAY for a system, or even five systems, then why do we have to get online to validate our PAID game every time we play it from a system we PAID for? Nintendo is greedy and controlling, that’s why. When they wouldn’t let me play MY game last night on MY system, I played 3ds instead, and I enjoyed that very much. Games that do NOT require being online or submitting to their control. I miss when Nintendo was a customer centric company. Sigh.
None of those games interest me in the least, not even the wacky viva piñata which I have on ds. I’d rather see them release Tomodachi Life for switch, and of course Style Savvy. These are games that are not only a lot of fun, but appeal to a wide range of gamers plus they sold like crazy on the 3ds.
I had a blast playing this over the weekend. I bought it for Pac-Attack, which was a favorite of mine in the 90s, and while I still have it available to play on two other handheld Nintendo systems, it was also nice to play it on my OLED. The other games are great too but I honestly found Pac-Land to be surprisingly frustrating and not fun.
Also, I had no glitches or frame rate issues or problems with any games I played.
Overall it’s a wonderful compilation with a huge variety of games!
I have a LOT of incredibly rare & valuable games. I’ve considered selling them, especially the deluxe editions with all the cool accessories they came with but what happens when you sell a rare game? You get some money, and you spend it on something else, and the whole experience is just gone and forgotten. So if it’s a good game and I like it, I’m just going to enjoy having it and playing it…. who cares if it’s worth a fortune! Life is too short to not enjoy the good things we have! ❤️
I absolutely LOVE puzzle games but this one looks horrible! Ugh! I kept watching the video hoping something good would show up but… nope! Passing on this one.
The software sales would soar if they’d release more games, including a few very popular ones that were on 3ds but never made it to switch yet, such as: Nintendogs/Cats, Tomodachi Life, and Style Savvy.
@Thehandsomedan everything you named is on the $20 annual subscription. The stuff they added to the $50 tier is literally a handful, at best. Furthermore just for myself, I actually own all those games and systems anyway. Having the convenience of playing them on the handheld switch would be nice, but it’s not worth $50. Not by a long shot.
I’d just like physical games to replace digital games. Yeah I know that’s backwards in today’s game climate, but maybe going in that direction would inspire game developers to put more work into finishing these games instead of all the patch patch patchity patching right after they are released nowadays. And I personally wouldn’t care much what the box art shows either way since I put my games in a small multi-game case.
Bundling a game with a system, or even a compilation of small games or demos makes a lot of sense because some people are gifted a console and have no idea where to begin. That is how the super Mario games became huge hits… when Nintendo used to bundle those back in the 80s and 90s.
I’m playing through my all time favorite game… Style Savvy Styling Star (again). Since they won’t put any Style Savvy games on switch, I’m enjoying them on my 3ds… and the switch is getting a bit dusty, ha!
@SNES_Chalmers it’s all good! 😀 I’m also one of the few that can actually see the “flicker” on an OLED switch screen too. My old eyes have peculiar sensitivities lol.
@SNES_Chalmers well, in my defense, I still have my original Genesis and many games I bought some 30+ years ago and it seems the same to me as the collection on the switch. I’m a very old school gamer, I even still play my old Intellivision and Atari from when I was young and those seem to feel the same to me as my Intellivision Lives set on DS and the two Atari ones on DS too. 😊
@SNES_Chalmers that’s very surprising! I have a switch lite, a switch OLED, and the original switch and I’ve experienced zero input lag or emulation issues of any kind with the Genesis classics collection on any of them, and I even play strictly in handheld mode which is even more of a strain on the processor.. Perhaps your game needs updated? Or maybe your system is old? Not sure why it would be so slow for you.
So why are they even bothering with putting Genesis games on this expansion service that costs $50 when you can buy the whole collection on their own eShop (Sega Genesis Classics) for $30, or perhaps even cheaper elsewhere for a cartridge that’s yours forever? Doesn’t anyone at Nintendo realize how cheap, idiotic, and greedy that looks? 🤔
This is a great game but my all time favorite was the GameCube Mario golf, it was perfect. I’m still irritated that Nintendo picked Genesis of all things to supplement the online expansion. So cheap and dirty… why couldn’t it have been GBA, Gameboy classic or color, or GameCube? And the Mario Golf games on all of those were awesome.

If someone wants to remake a really fun platformer from days of old, why not Cool Spot that was on the Super Nintendo and Genesis?
