It’s highly disappointing that activision and intellivision are sound asleep. Now is the time, strike while the iron is sizzling hot… bring compilations of their games to the switch! They did it for many other consoles before! People would love to play these classics now. As a side note, that Touch Me game featured above, from the Atari 50 set, is the biggest reason I bought that on switch. Despite the disturbing lack of touch controls (on a touch me game - imagine that!), it’s still nice to have it, because I still have my original extremely well played handheld touch me from 1979 in fairly good working condition, though it would be more ideal to play a touch controlled one on switch. Developers have gotten so lazy these days.
I’d just like to see a true switch XL with an LCD screen that has a proper ppi instead of the train wreck they made of the OLED. Who stretches pixels and slaps an OLED on? Yeah, leave it to Nintendo! 😒 the most headache inducing system since virtual boy.

This gives me a lot to think about, still, on whether I’d enjoy this game. I never got Arceus, either, so this new open world style is very new to me in a Pokémon game! I will continue to read about this game until I buy it or lose my interest in it, whichever comes first. 😊 I guess at this moment I’m at 50/50.

I was originally very excited to get this game from Nintendo’s own videos but then everything I’ve seen on NintendoLife scared me away and I didn’t buy it. While this article highlights aspects of the game I was previously unaware of, it also pulls me down a bit more on my interest in the game. I’m not am exploring gamer, I’m a warrior. I love Pokémon for the battles, not the aimless wandering. In past games, I have enjoyed the linear method and catching certain Pokémon, leveling them up, building strong teams, and then the sweet victory at the end. This game sounds like a train wreck in every way possible based on what I’ve read on this site. Is it really this bad? I’ve still been considering getting it, at times, but that is fading fast. Is there anyone here who loves Pokémon for the battles primarily, and the straightforward “go here, then go there” type gameplay? If so, have you played this game? What are your thoughts?
@stuntz0rZ I’m not sure about other retailers. I bought the standard edition for switch, as well as for ps4, from Target, and I received the download code for Gravatar Recharged for each version, via email, about a week after receiving the games.
Not only should ALL of these games be on ONE cartridge, and for no more than $40 total, and yes they would all fit with room to spare, but you also get Gravatar Recharged for free if you preordered Atari 50. I was just sent an email with a code for that and downloaded the full game, as a separate title on my switch. Limited Run Games should change their name to PGE Inc. (Price Gouging Experts, Inc).

But I decided to play my old Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu instead and I’m greatly enjoying that this weekend. When I finish it, I’m diving into Brilliant Diamond! That’s what irritates me so much about people pushing for all digital gaming. If it’s digital it’s only a rental. You never own it. And game companies make a fortune on this. It’s the apex of greed. I can still play the games I bought decades ago because they are MINE. You’ll never be able to say that with these digital games. It will eventually crash the entire industry.
I’m still trying to figure out why they keep selling incomplete games. Is everyone that impatient to have something that they get a half baked item just to have it now regardless of what it lacks? If this was given away for free with the switch (you know, like wii sports was with the Wii), that would be different. How about a Nomad reboot. Mine has that ancient washed out screen, and it would be so nice to have all these games on a dedicated handheld again. Although it would be hard to top the Sega Classics compilation cartridge I have on switch 🤔
Maybe try instead for a handheld Sega Master System, or maybe put all those games on a switch compilation. In fact, do that with Sega CD and Dreamcast too! It’s much easier to just give them to us on switch, and it gives us the TV/handheld option automatically.
That video gave me SO many “New Pokémon Snap” feels. I’m all for pretty visuals and awe inspiring exploring but the heart of Pokémon is the battling, right? Seems like they want that to be secondary in this game. 🤔 Maybe all they are really focused on promoting is how lovely it looks. But it concerns me about the long term playability and fun factor of the game. Looking forward to seeing some reviews.
Every time I see an article like this, it makes me think of how in 5 years they will strip away, one by one, all the online features of the switch. And how will anyone play their digital games and DLC (that they paid so much for) on their secondary systems when Nintendo discontinues online features for the switch? 🫤
I wish someone at Nintendo would read this article and especially the comments. But Nintendo no longer cares about what gamers actually want. They just care about finding “clever” and easy ways to milk gamers out of their money. This expansion pack offers so very little for the price, but yet people subscribe anyway, and because the sales are robust enough, Nintendo does not care to make it more inviting with the things most people want, such as GameBoy/Color/Advance games. Sigh.
Island Tour (3ds) has always been my favorite, and it gets the least love from everyone! I think it’s a lot more fun than any of the old or new versions! The boards are great and so are the mini games!
5pm in animal crossing new horizons, and the theme/opening song on style savvy styling Star on 3ds. They are much better than anything in this list! Check those songs out!
This might be a good time to review the new Taiko No Tatsujin Rhythm Festival game. It’s LOADED with licensed music and is a blast to play. It’s different enough from Drum & Fun to stand on its own as a fantastic game, but still retains the core elements that made the predecessor so awesome. Seriously, I would give this game a 9 out of 10 (only downsides are lack of extra characters like Kirby, and some songs are insanely difficult). A fun perk is it includes the theme song to Super Mario Bros, and the overworld music for The Legend Of Zelda! But if anyone loves music, this is the game for you! It has a wide variety of genres to please all tastes!
@johnvboy based on your numerous comments in this thread, I can ascertain that you have a very personal attachment to this movie and while I respect that, I also stand firm in my disdain for who voices it because that - his voice - is the core of the Mario we know, and it has been replaced, and with a voice that doesn’t even come close. This just ruins it for me much like the replaced voices in modern Peanuts movies, and how they did this with Flintstones, Scooby Doo, and many others. I am not only old school, but old myself, and some things should remain as they were or they will no longer have their classic charm. I understand that people may die or otherwise be unable to fulfill these voice roles but I do think at the very least they should at least try to replicate the originals.

I was extremely disappointed with the direct. The only thing I liked (and was very excited about) was the Harvest Moon Wonderful Life reveal but then I felt let down that I have to wait about a year till it releases. It’s nice they want to release more n64 games, but how about adding GameBoy games? Nintendo always wants to give gamers what Nintendo wants us to play, not what gamers want to play. It is so disappointing.

Disney Magical World 2, Enchanted Edition. Just started a new game again after playing thru last winter. This game is so much better than the new Disney Dreamlight Valley. Much more visually appealing and genuinely fun, and of course very cute and very Disney.
I’ve been waiting over half a decade for a new style savvy game too. In fact, I’ve waited more than 11 years for a new Nintendogs game, and 8 years for a new Tomodachi Life game. 🤔

I’ve been saying this for years and everyone just complained at me and harassed me for it. But I’ve been part of this game business for 45 years. What they do now is indeed laziness and nothing more, when they make these incomplete games and worse - charge full price for them!

I’ve been saying this for years and everyone just complained at me and harassed me for it. But I’ve been part of this game business for 45 years. What they do now is indeed laziness and nothing more, when they make these incomplete games and worse - charge full price for them!
