We at Nintendo Life love a good collection, but YouTuber Nintendo Downunder has truly blown us away. In a video uploaded yesterday, the mega fan shows off his collection of Nintendo consoles, games and accessories which is enough to keep even the biggest fan's jaw firmly on the floor for a long time.
The video is the creator's second of the year, and it shows how the collection has evolved over the past six months while also giving us some handy tips on the best ways to display our favourite Nintendo-themed goodies.
Beginning with a look at some of his arcade machines — items that would be sure to take pride of place in our gaming collections — Nintendo Downunder's room tour moves from strength to strength.
From the wall of rare N64 consoles (that's right, a whole wall!) to the rack of Nintendo Power magazines, it is difficult to believe that anyone's collection wouldn't be overshadowed by this unbelievable mound of tech.
We can't begin to imagine the time and money that goes into building such an impressive collection, but it is always refreshing to see that the love for physical media remains strong.
What's the best part of your gaming collection? Could it potentially rival Nintendo Downunder's? Let us know in the comments below!

It's like a Library of Alexandria!
Suddenly I don't feel as bad about my backlog 😅
To be honest, I’m not impressed. This is a collection for the sake of having. Not for the sake of loving what you have.
I have a collection of what I love. And i intend to play everything I own.
I dont like it, most of those things have not done what the creator made them for.
Think of Stinky Pete from Toy Story 2, bitter and twisted because he was stuck in his original box.
I buy games and consoles to play on, I hate things in original shrink wrapped plastic, it never fully realised the reason it was created
how many dont work anymore then its just junk
I only collect games i enjoy that send me to my happy place. I don't feel the need to own every game or system known to man. It's been a love of mine since i was 5 years old and it's not gonna stop until i do so yeah I'll be gaming until they put me in my box and close the lid.
@Friendly agreed! This is more like hoarding than collecting.
@peachflavored I was about to post the exact same comment!
I'm happy it makes them happy, but, yea I'm also team "play the games"
I agree with others here in the comments. I find a more curated collection that says something about the collector's tastes and history in gaming far more interesting that a simple hoard of everything under the sun for the sake of it.
Everything is in boxes so this is just hoarding/collecting for profit. Not that impressive. You just need money but not love for what you buy.
Edit:And no I’m not jealous. I just don’t find hoarding impressive (and I am not sure why I should, for that matter). I’m quite happy with the games I own and I am a big proponent of games as products designed to be entertaining especially for kids. When I see hoarders all I see is some kid that never got to play something because someone has to have 10 of them just because they can.
It is possible to have a disdainful viewpoint and not have envy be a part of it at all. Not everyone only desires what someone else has and it’s odd that anyone would assume that is the primary motivation behind not being impressed by someone. I’m not impressed by what you can buy, but what you know and do with that knowledge.
hoarder + he almost only has consoles and not that many games. I'm not impressed at all
So many jelly-bellies above.
For a lot of people, Nintendo products, opened and played with or not, represent something, something wonderful, and exciting, and fun. And having a collection of such wonderful products in pristine condition is a dream for a lot people. This person has got to realise that dream and I salute them.
Nintendo products were made to be sold, and this person bought them. Simple as.
Judging something/someone negatively when you can't have what they've got yourself is not pretty.
My bedroom is full of Nintendo games and it's not that far off looking like that. I mean I'm 45 years of age I've been gaming my entire life so yeah.
@gcunit Don't see any judgemental comments here just you looking into something that isn't even here. He's a YouTuber so chances are he bought most of this stuff just to show off. I mean I could be wrong but based on previous observations I don't think I am.
😊I have one more game than he does but I can't be bothered to video it all...
While you have to admire the work put into building such a collection, the Toy Story 2 comparison seems apt. It's just a room of sterile things that seems almost to miss the point of the artistry it's celebrating. As long as the dude's happy I guess.
@Bunkerneath PREACH! If you collect because you feel like you have to instead of collecting what you want to collect, you won't feel satisfied with your collection.
(bloody hell I said collect a lot)
@RubyCarbuncle ?
I can see 10 comments above mine. Every single one of them is turning up their nose in some way.
I have all of this stuff, plus I have a signed copy of the video game ‘Wii Sports’ for the ‘Nintendo Wii’ video gaming home console system.
@gcunit Yes and they're right. He's a YouTuber basically showing off and saying oh look what I have and look what you don't have. Sorry that's how I see this as. My bedroom is like a shop but do you think I'm going to rub people's face into it? no I am not.
@gcunit If you want to collect just to have the biggest collection out there or to have a complete collection, good for you / good for the youtuber. And I can see that it is impressive from that point of view.
I just gave my reasoning of why I personally do not like this collection. I'm a different kind of collector / gaming enthousiast.
With current retro prices, looks like this guy is pretty rich now though if he wants.
@Maxz Ah, the fabled Wii Sports. You must let me know who your black market contacts are.
I have 15 different video games from 3 different game companies (Nintendo,Sony & Microsoft) on my shelf.
Nintendo (7)
GBA
NDS
3DS
Gamecube
Wii
Wii U
Switch
Sony (6)
PS1
PS2
PS3
PS4
PS5
PSP
Microsoft (2)
XBOX
XBOX 360
Also, I only buy the games I want to play and I'm very selective in choosing the games.
I went through a hording stage, but now that's a pile of stuff for sale. Only keeping and playing what I like.
His room looks awesome though! I think if I had plenty of time and money I'd do the same.
It's not the size of the collection it's how you use it;)
i use to back in the day trade in my older games for new games including some ps1 games which some of them you can sell for hundreds today lol..
Betcha he didn't play 70% of those games or if he did it's probably through emulations only.
@RubyCarbuncle That's all I meant by them being judgemental though. Is that not being judgemental?
No-one has forced anyone here to watch a video about that collection, no-one's face has been rubbed in anything. Users here took their faces and placed them in front of a screen to look at it all voluntarily. Then just made pejorative comments afterwards.
This reminds me of the discussion about whether or not to open up Amiibo boxes. Except in this case, it really is a shame. You're supposed to play on these machines and collecting them like this definitely wouldn't be my style. To each their own I guess. It is a very impressive collection, but it's a dead shame these machines are just sitting in their boxes, doing nothing but collecting dust and degrading over time.
didnt think people would be so sour over someones collection if its big enough. ive seen a few of gamer youtubers mentioned on the site with their own big collections with no sign of ill will, but once a new person you havent heard of shows their collection its suddenly uncool?

I own every game Atlus has published in North America. It took a while to hunt some of the rare ones down, but it was an awesome moment when I got the last piece in the mail. I also added pics of the other stuff in the link but the first several pics are just Atlus
Have a look at mine, certainly not as organised or with so many rare packs and games, but still not too bad

The modern “collector” which means YouTuber… which means “influencer”. Part of the joy of being a gamer and building a collection (which is different from being a collector) is that it’s a journey. If you spend 100k in a week you aren’t don’t have a collection…. You just bought a load of stuff. There is nothing special to that. Collections have stories. It’s personal.
YouTubers buy stuff to show it off and get clicks and income. Some YouTubers don’t even then keep the stuff it’s a collection for a specific video or series of videos.
Added to all that…. I’m team open games and play them.
I started on the switch buying everything - over 400 physical games now and I realised it’s stupid. I buy now what I want.
A fool and his money is soon parted
But where is the all RED Switch for the Mario Anniversary that came out last year in North America? The system came with a case ~red dock~red and a red~joy con controller. Very limited release …I have one to sell if you want to add it to the collection It’s new in box never opened….
Lots of Nintendo fans get super jealous and judgemental with posts like this. Anytime there is a collection post or a post related to video game skill there's just a pile of negative comments.
@Natendo94 I think it's more the fact people who take the time to peruse and comment on a video games websites can somewhat reliably be considered to have an attachment to the hobby. That is to say the actual 'playing' of the games. Seeing a whole heap of video games locked behind glass walls where the pastime can't be enjoyed the way they would want it is naturally going to be anathema to a sizeable chunk of that audience.
@Rooty The collector in the video is clearly passionate about video games, otherwise they wouldn't have such a large collection. A lot of people don't realize that a lot of time and effort goes into acquiring a collection like this.
@Diogmites You're wrong in every way. I have what this guy has which brings me joy but I don't brag about it.
@Natendo94 I'm not trying to downplay his efforts, this is clearly a labour of love and time for the owner. I'm simply suggesting the vast majority of the people commenting with contrasting opinions here are not doing so out of envy or ill will.
@Diogmites nah I don’t agree with that at all. I, personally, have no interest in owning multiple, slightly different boxed versions of the same console.
I would rather use that space for something else.
As loadsamoney would have said, 'Shut up and look my wad....!!!
Not that impressed.
Very enjoyable video and great collection. Thanks for showing. I feel like he is passionate about Nintendo and collecting. He even has handmade stuff made by his family, which looked really cool. Seems like a great environment to play games.
A few days ago I saw how expensive Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door became and realised, that it is propably not a bad idea to buy some stuff I do not have immediate use of. I also like to collect games, especially for Nintendo consoles. The only console I am missing is the NES, but I have the Dendy instead, so I do not feel like I am missing much. But I do not buy games, if I feel like I will never play them.
@Friendly - Problem with that is we don't know that context. By your impression, it'd be safe to assume if one wants to collect, say, all the games for one system, it's not out of the love for games.
I personally attempted this with Gamecube, and admittedly, there are bad games (looking at you Universal Studios). However, I do play those bad games, there is something about them that I am fascinated about, but I do not enjoy them the same way. They're like lessons of gaming history.
And now as an adult, I am attempting to do it again. 1290 and counting, and it's for the love of gaming in general.
@gcunit disdain does not equate to jealousy or envy. Nor is anyone obligated to be impressed by someone simply because we share the same hobby. We are all shaped by our preferences, values and morals.
@Paraka agreed. But why would you have 20+ nintendo 64 of which multiple are wrapped in plastic still though?
And all the controllers that he was showcasing?
It’s basically just greed because they can afford to do it. Nobody needs all that stuff, it’s a waste of money. It’s a reflection of this horrible society that we live in today, bet it’s all over Instagram and the like for the clicks.
My game library is bigger. I don’t share pictures of it though. But 95% of the games I’ve owned since the mid 70s, I’ve kept so…
@Friendly - Well if it's anything like me, I did at one point have my banana controller for the N64 wrapped. I like having some showcased items, but my hands would be too sweaty I feared ruining them. Same with my Metroid 3DS.
I also plan on doing the same to my Ogre Battle 64 once they have an alternative to playing that very game. Simply cause I have the case and all and it's for the memories, like a photo.
There could easily be reasons behind a few of those, though he also may be waaaay more into having all the controllers than I am (I like wacky).
As someone who collects I don’t understand how people can look down so hard on someone who collects. You don’t want to collect? Fine. Don’t. But saying that it’s pointless, stupid, etc. only belittles the people you’re talking about. Everyone has passions, hobbies or loves, so why tear them down for what they love? Maybe he looks at it more as game history preservation or an investment. Who knows, but if someone pointed out something that you love and mocks you for it, how would you feel? Just food for thought
Love it. Impressive collection
Usually when we say we have every Nintendo console, this is NOT what we mean. Haha
Wow, and I've been told that I have to much Nintendo stuff!
I might have a ton of games but it's a ton I have at least some interest in playing.
Though my friend would say I was crazy to pass up a Stadium Events cart in the early 2000s because I had no interest in playing. I had only heard rumors of its value and they sounded like a joke.
nice collection!!! my personal collection is nowhere near this size, prolly around 200 games. I often happen to buy games which I might wanna play some day and they just end up backlogged, smh.
but as someone.mentioned before, buying tons of stuff is less impressive than a selection of games. I mean, there are ***** games out there, why would I wanna buy them? I feel like they would tarnish my collection.
@F_Destroyer
Nice collection you've massed. Not sterile like this fellas hoard.
I liked the update where he moved the amiibo stand
Very clean collection of consoles
@Diogmites Whatever.
This guy has nothing compared to this guy:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vWreYj3RABA&t=1550s
Sorry NL, but that guy has some stuff but this guy here, every time he does a room tour I am like, wut?
Nice collection of consoles he has, some truly beautiful pieces in there.
I have an N64 Console he doesn't have that is mint and complete, maybe I should sell it to him 😁
I went for a complete N64 Pal Australian game collection mint in box which took me 10+ years to obtain and I met some truly wonderful people along the way.
I also buy back up consoles so that if the originals die I have spares to keep playing on like my brand new Xenoblade Chronicles X Wii U and my very limited ISS64 Nintendo 64 that had less than 500 released.
I love playing and collecting games.
@Exerion76 "I used to be a collector like you ...but I took an arrow to the knee!"
Sorry, had to.
Its cool to be a mega-fun if money is not an object then you can find a wife that just find you eccentric not weirdo
