Re: Miitomo Continues Strong Run in Japan

Kimite

@Anomen @SanderEvers I would call Miitomo's payment model for "Pay to Unlock" and not really "Pay to Win", as you aren't really getting any advantages by purchasing clothes really from what I understand.

Like people have said here before Miitomo is mostly about spreading awareness and of course, giving people a app they can have fun with and grind Platinum points for My Nintendo :+).

Re: Feature: Getting Friendly in Surprising Ways With Miitomo

Kimite

@rockodoodle Well it is possible to send Nintendo an Email, if you don't have any social media accounts.

To all here: The best might be to tweet at people from the Nintendo Treehouse I think and not Nintendo's official accounts. (Though check first if that question is answer already, so it doesn't feel spammy in the ends, as none really want to answer the same question over and over again).

You can create a Twitter account just for gaming and tell your friends though Miiverse where they can find you :+). (Just remember to be very vague as you can get Administration notifications from share personal information on Miiverse).

Anyway yeah, hopefully Nintendo will add the possibility to add friends from our Nintendo systems later :+).

Re: Feature: Getting Friendly in Surprising Ways With Miitomo

Kimite

@Raptor78 Thanks for the suggestion :+), though I do think I will wait a bit just to see if Nintendo say something rough time-frame Miitomo will be released where I live. (I live in Norway so it shouldn't be a unattractive country, as nearly everyone owns a Smartphone here and Scandinavia in general).

I did actually delete that part of my comment as I thought I made my comment a bit too personal, but yeah I might make a gaming only Twitter account because of Miitomo and I as I mentioned the fact that Nintendo seen to be using Twitter more and more :+).

Hopefully Miitomo will end up being pretty fun for all of us ^^, or at least a good way to grind points for My Nintendo points/coins .

Re: Feature: Getting Friendly in Surprising Ways With Miitomo

Kimite

If there was a possibility to choose who you wanted to include in to Miitomo from both our Wii U friend list and 3DS friend list more directly I would be more excited, but with Facebook and Twitter I am not sure ;^^. As long as linking up either a Facebook or a Twitter account to Miitomo isn't required I am fine with the integration.

Still, I do have to wait for a while anyway likely as I don't live in a country where Miitomo seem to be coming now in March, though I do think Miitomo looks interesting and I am a bit keen on trying Miitomo now to see what it actually is about :+).

Re: Carnegie Mellon Professor Thinks Nintendo Is Working On A Fully-Mobile Virtual Reality Headset

Kimite

VR too early, AR maybe.

The funny thing is for me is that in the article it states by 2022, but that's when the Nervegear came out in Sword Art Online and I am not sure if that's a good thing or not ;^^.

(Note: I am not that big of a Sword Art Online fan, but I am fascinated by the Amusphere technology).

Either way I am looking forward to see what kind of interesting technologies Nintendo can come up with :+).

Re: Soapbox: It's too Early to Judge Paper Mario: Color Splash

Kimite

Even is Color Splash is kind of "Sticker Star 2" now, it doesn't mean that Color Splash can change during development and get more RPG mechanics :+).

Still I do think the paint battle system will be better than we think in terms of that it can be a good technically resource managing game, but I am more concerned about that we have to tap our finger on the card and flick it to active as I can imagine it become a bit boring after a while ;^^.

I actually went back to Sticker Star today to see if I could maybe progress as I was pretty stuck for a while, but now I solved my problem and I am enjoying it :+). (Still a part of me miss getting EXP, but why complain too much as it doesn't help me).

No matter what happens I think, I will likely play Color Splash and enjoy it no matter what happens really ^^. (I just can't get mad at games for some reasons... which I don't mind).

Re: Yo-kai Watch Begins Its European Quest on 29th April

Kimite

While I am excited for the Youkai Watch anime to come out in Europe, I can't help but wonder how good/bad the dub will be in my country(Norway) as with past experiences the Norwegian dubs doesn't tend to be that good here ;^^.

Still I am looking for the Youkai Watch 3DS game regardless if the anime will be dubbed in a good way or not in my country :+).

Re: Rumour: EA And Nintendo Looking To Rekindle "Unprecedented Partnership" On NX

Kimite

I mat not be the person who are interested in normal sports games, but I do think a Nintendo/Mario sports bundle with Fifa or the most attractive sports games from EA could be good like some people have similarly mentioned before here.

I might be more interested in Japanese games/third parties personally, but I do recognize the that Nintendo needs western third parties in order to really appeal to the more western orientated audience.

No matter what happens, I do hope the NX will have a ton of good games that can appeal to everyone ^^.

Re: We Squid You Not, Japan Really Is Getting Splatoon Candy

Kimite

I could see the Splatoon candy coming to Nintendo New York's store potentially and also other geek stores around the world :+).

(Wouldn't be surprised if it came to a geek store near me as it already have a ton of imported goods, which hopefully means that the Splatoon candy will be pretty accessible around the world).

Re: You Can Now Register for a Nintendo Account

Kimite

@dres Well my information are based on information I have read and if you want to, you can search up My Nintendo/Miitomo on Nintendoeverything as every news comes up chronologically :+). (Sorry Nintendo Life ;^; , but it is a bit easier to search for Nintendo news on Nintendoeverything in my view).

One thing thing though, I am not sure if Scandinavia will be a part of the March launch for My Nintendo, but as far as I can see it seems like we are going to be included based on earlier information. (The pre-registration might only be for countries that get Miitomo initially in March).

Re: You Can Now Register for a Nintendo Account

Kimite

@dres

We Scandinavians/Nordic people should be included in the My Nintendo network when it comes out in March, but just not letting us pre-register for some reason I don't know.

Miitomo isn't going to be released in Scandinavia/Nordic countries at first, but from what we know now it may only be for the initial launch that we aren't included.

So hopefully we Scandinavians/Nordic people and the other remaining countries will have Miitomo by E3 this year :+).

Re: Nintendo Download: 18th February (Europe)

Kimite

Definitely getting Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon this week digitally . (I prefer to have my RPGs digitally, so I can play it whenever I want more easily).

As for the Nintendo Direct talk here, I agree that we will likely get a Nintendo Direct this week, if not then in March or April :+).

Re: Miitomo to Include Photo Mode and Pre-Registration Will Bring 'Platinum' My Nintendo Point

Kimite

My first thought was 'grrrrr", as I am a Norwegian myself ;^^. I don't really see why Nintendo wouldn't include Scandinavia as we are high technology countries and most of us own Smartphones already. It is true that Scandinavia might not have the biggest population, but I don't really see why we Scandinavians couldn't get the English version at least.

I did have a feeling that Norway might not be included as I saw the number of countries were so low, but I suppose I should be happy with at least getting My Nintendo compared to before . Hopefully Norway and the rest of Scandinavia/Nordic countries will be included later ^^.

(I am not angry, just don't understand it logically).

Re: Tatsumi Kimishima Is Aiming To Quadruple Nintendo's Operating Profits

Kimite

Hearing that the NX will/might be a radical departure from the Wii U make me nearly think that the NX will be a VR or AR device, or at least as a core part of the system, but can play most games with a normal controller as well.

In my veiw VR and AR are at a bit early stage and might be better if Nintendo let the VR/AR technology mature for a while, but then again Nintendo might have created VR or AR device that is completely revolutionary though.

Still, I do think the NX will more likely be a console that stream games or some kind of Hybrid Console/handheld device :+). Either way, I am excited to see where the VR and AR technology can go ^^.

Re: Talking Point: Considering amiibo Features and the Reality of 'Physical DLC'

Kimite

I would say not optimal for us gamers, but livable I guess. I mean the Amiibo does have value in itself for being a cool figure and it is easily pre-ordered, and getting the soundtrack as well . I mean first of all we don't really know what kind of dungeon Cave of Twilight is and it could just be a 100 level dungeon like in Wind Waker, or to say a dungeon that doesn't add new things to the overall story.

Personally I am pre-ordering Twilight Princess HD anyway, as I want to make sure I can get Twilight Princess HD on launch day. Still for the people who don't want the Wolf Link Amiibo nor want to preorder, I do understand that it isn't as optimal so to say ;^^.

I say fair enough if it isn't adding anything new to the overall main story, but otherwise a bit unfair I suppose. Then again we are maybe getting access to a new dungeon unlike Wind Waker HD, so I don't think we can complain too much . Still I do think it would be fair if we could access the Amiibo content after completing the story optimally though :+).

Re: Nintendo Download: 14th January (Europe)

Kimite

@SanderEvers I know , but still we don't know much about Pokkén Tournament's release date nor what new things we will get in Twilight Princess HD, so I think we will get a Nintendo Direct before the end of February anyway ^^.

I wouldn't get disappointed as the Nintendo Direct "prediction" I made are just based on logic really.

Re: Nintendo Download: 14th January (Europe)

Kimite

I am wondering if there will be a Nintendo Direct this week or at least soon, as I would imagine Nintendo would want to promote Mario and Luigi: Paper Jam in America and Hyrule Warriors Legends in Japan as both of them come out between 21-22 January this month.

I am not trying to spend a rumor, just using my logic really as I like to wonder and think . Still it is exciting to think about that we might get a Nintendo Direct soon ^^.

(Note: Nintendo said themselves that they would change up the Nintendo Direct format a bit in 2016, so we might get more surprises than what we might think).

Also might pre-purchase Final Fantasy Explorers.

Re: Random: Oslo's City Hall Is Playing The Super Mario Bros. Theme

Kimite

I want to go to Oslo now o.o... which should be possible as I live in Norway and hopefully I will be able to listen to the Mario song if I manage to go to s con in Oslo/Lillestrøm ^^. (Not the easiest trip for just saying).

Still I hope other people who live in Oslo will be able hear the songs .

(Maybe not the best sound though, but would like to hear it as a experience).

Re: The First 4 Figures Amaterasu Reminds Us of Why We Love Ōkami

Kimite

I have to say I would love to buy the Okami/Amaterasu statute, but money... even though I thick I could technically pay for it if I wanted.

Anyway, actually Hideki Kamiya asked fans what games they wanted him to make sequels out of by a poll and Okami scored the highest in all the polls so from what I can tell an Okami sequel might be more realizable than what we might think at first now .

Re: Poll: What Did You Think of Nintendo's 2015?

Kimite

Based on most of the comments here it seems like Nintendo had a fair enough year, but could also been better in many ways.

I would say my take on Nintendo's 2015 would be that I liked many of the releases, but in terms of big wows could have been better in terms of releases, still I am satisfied anyway as I got Triforce Heroes which I really enjoy a lot .

I do think Nintendo's 2016 look a lot more promising in terms of Nintendo getting more back in the mainstream like with Miitomo and the other app, and of course the reveal of the NX ^^.

Either way, I don't think we can complain too much about Nintendo's 2015 as we got a fair amount of good releases and I think many of us has enjoyed them a lot, even if they wasn't the games we wanted the most like Zelda U :+).

Re: Minecraft Developer Acknowledges Demand for a Minecraft amiibo

Kimite

I think the most fair idea at least for Minecraft itself would be if the Minecraft related Amiibo let you buy some packs for free instead of something exclusive, as you would get a nice looking figure and a few packs for free :+).

As far as other games like Mario Kart yes, a skin would be fair or at least interesting .

Re: Feature: A Night at The Game Awards

Kimite

I didn't watch the Game Award show live so I could just fast forward when I got bored and I have to say even then it was a bit not too interesting show unfortunately ;^^. Though I glad you had fun there Mitch .

Also this week's European Splatfest: Do you want Pineapple on your pizza or not. (Um... not exactly want I wanted so to say .).

Re: Review: Pokémon Picross (3DS eShop)

Kimite

I have to say I don't really like cheating in order to get all of the achievements as I prefer a challenge as I have played Mario Picross and finish it so I feel like the cheating system is going against itself ;^^.

I am only really early in the game, but still having to cheat doesn't seem right to me unfortunately . Still I will play Pokémon Picross and enjoy it as best as I can .

Re: You Can Now Buy A Replacement Wii U GamePad On Its Own

Kimite

@wazlon Lucky ;^^. I have to be closer than a meter it feels like in order to get a signal from the Gamepad to the Wii U right now ;^;. (I hope your Gamepad wouldn't have the same fate as well after years/months of use).

Though, I have experienced this before and it has gotten better after a while like being to have a straight back again so I hope it will fix itself this time too .

(Still I like my Gamepad).

Re: You Can Now Buy A Replacement Wii U GamePad On Its Own

Kimite

I really, really hope Nintendo of Europe (and America) will start selling separate Gamepads as my Gamepad nearly can't connect to my Wii U unless it is uncomfortably close ;^;.

I can play with my Wii Remote and Nunchuck, and Pro Controller, but still I really prefer Off-TV Play over having to look at the TV ;^^.

Still I am really happy for Japan and hope at least they get something out of that the Gamepads are optionally sold separately now .

Re: Review: Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash (Wii U)

Kimite

Too bad launched with so little content, as the core gameplay seem to be really good according to reviewers and players . Still as other people have mentioned hopefully Nintendo will treat Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash like Splatoon and have some updates over time and I hope there will be at least 1-2 new mode before Christmas . (Or request patches like Mario Maker).

Re: EA CFO Explains Why the Company Doesn't Make Wii U Games Anymore

Kimite

Too bad I guess that EA left the Wii U as a good Spore game (port?) could have sold fairly well if they took full advantage of the Gamepad's functionalities and had online multiplayer up to 4 people like Smash.

Or maybe EA could have created a good Mario sports game like Strikers or Sports mix in order to sell a lot if they do the game right .

Re: Timing Of NX Launch Could Help Nintendo Grab Some Of Sony And Microsoft's Market Share, Says Analyst

Kimite

I think whether or not the NX will be a success at launch depends on both first and third parties games. I think if the first party games are fairly interesting even though some of them are remasters is fine depending what sort of remasters like Mario Sunshine HD. (Or Virtual Console support for Gamecube on the NX at launch).

If we get the Square Enix games at launch or close like Dragon Quest 10+11 and Final Fantasy 14 will likely draw in the (Nintendo/JRPG) core gamers to the NX fairly fast. (I know these will technically be ports). As Cloud is in Smash soon it wouldn't be 100% unthinkable that the Final Fantasy 7 will come to the NX as well ^^.

I also think COD or Minecraft should be s part of NX launch if possible, or to say the most popular games around the time NX launches in order to draw in the mainstream gamers.

Anyway I hope the NX will be a big success and not just in profitability, but also in smilies .

Edit: I actually just realized that we are judging the the potential of the NX by today situation... but by the time the NX launches the situation could be completely different. I mean by time the time NX launches Nintendo Account, My Nintendo, Pokémon Go, Miitomo and potentially between 2-3 other mobile apps/games will have come out and will likely have affected Nintendo's recognition.

So... yeah, we don't really know what market position Nintendo will be in by the time NX launches .

Re: Editorial: Linkle May be a Clunky Introduction For a 'Female Link', But Opens Up Interesting Possibilities

Kimite

I don't really see what's wrong with having Linkle even if she was supposed to be a female Link, though as I am a female myself I don't get the same feeling as males have as they are use to play as a male in the role of saving Hyrule or Zelda. (I know not every female are a fan of Linkle just saying).

I wouldn't mind playing as Linkle in Zelda U if that became a thing or to say I wouldn't mind a spin-off game where I could play as Linkle either. I am not saying that Linkle should replace Link in any sort of way and I am okey if Linkle "fail" to become a accepted character even though I think it is a bit sad.

I think even playing as Zelda or a another female character from the Zelda series in a real Zelda game could be cool even if it was only during some side quests or sub-stories .

Anyway, my reaction to Linkle is "Why not".

Re: Humour: The Pain Of Being A Wii U Owner This Christmas, Summed Up In Rap Form

Kimite

@GuruOfGreatness Nice ^^. I hope you take advantage of this little break and get to play a lot of games you own and maybe finish some :~). I not sure if I am exactly pleased with the fact that Zelda U got delayed, but I do want Zelda U to be the best game it can be so I don't mind waiting that much .

Personally I am a (J)RPG-er and have a lot of games that is over 20-40 hours if not 60 and above ;^^. I am going to play Xenoblade Chronicles on my Wii U, Dragon Quest games, Triforce Heroes, Legend of Kay, the Kingdom Hearts remixes, Tales of Xillia 2 and probably many more games here and there :~).
(Potentially Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks if I buy them over the eShop as I already own them technically).

I wish you luck on your backlog and I hope you are able to clear a few games during this little new game drought ^^.
