Re: Talking Point: Wii U Gamers Have Been Treated Poorly By The Third-Party Retail Scene, But The System Still Brings Joy

Kimite

@Mr_Zurkon

Well, according to Ubisoft Child of Light was profitable and they are going to make something related to Child of Light even though it might not be a sequel.

Also do the sales number include download numbers or just retail, because if it is just retail then it is a no brainer why the sales for the Wii U would be that low ;^^. Still in the end it is true that many Nintendo fans have a little bit non-mainstream taste or at least I have.

In the end each to their own .

Re: Talking Point: Wii U Gamers Have Been Treated Poorly By The Third-Party Retail Scene, But The System Still Brings Joy

Kimite

@Mr_Zurkon I didn't say anything about overall sale, I just mentioned Child of Light mostly really ;^^. What I meant that third parties or Ubisoft for that matter should try to make things that really appeal to us Nintendo fans .

Sure the titles that really sales for Ubisoft are games like Watch Dogs and Assassin Creed, but I have no interest in those kind of games and I want more titles like Child of Light . (Yes, I am a core Nintendo/Square Enix fan).

Re: Talking Point: Wii U Gamers Have Been Treated Poorly By The Third-Party Retail Scene, But The System Still Brings Joy

Kimite

I don't think I have mentioned this in my big post here, but how profitable have the sales been for the big third parties on the Wii U? (Some other people have probably mentioned it before here).

From what I understand big third party games haven't been all that successful on the Wii U and I am not sure which fault it is, but something still vent wrong in the first 2 years of Wii U's lifecycle ;^^. Which part that should have the most blame I am not sure, but many people would likely say Nintendo for bad marketing and not polishing the Wii U enough before launching it or just that the Wii U is hard to port to in general and overall sales ;^^.

In the end what lead to the Wii U's low third party number I am not 100% sure of, but I think more games like Child of Light and games that aren't 16/18+ would help more third parties see that many Nintendo fans like myself just have a special taste .

Re: Talking Point: Wii U Gamers Have Been Treated Poorly By The Third-Party Retail Scene, But The System Still Brings Joy

Kimite

@Souldin @Chaoz @NintendoFan64 @The_Dude_Abides

Everyone of us is different and we all have different tastes and that something we all have to respect . I shouldn't have to say it, but it seems like I have and that goes especially to you also The_Dude _Abiders ;^^. I know this comment might be unnecessary, but it seems like everyone could need a reminder sometimes.

The big third party games we have on the Wii U might not be many, but they are better than nothing in my view .

(Also I am going to bed now, so I will respond in some hours if anyone want to contact me. Still this is not a message you need to reply to, as I just wanted to say it).

Re: Talking Point: Wii U Gamers Have Been Treated Poorly By The Third-Party Retail Scene, But The System Still Brings Joy

Kimite

@arnoldlayne83

I can understand why Xenoblade X would be the last Wii U game you buy in 2015, but there will likely be other interesting titles coming to the Wii U that we just don't know about yet . I haven't tried the Persona series yet, but maybe in the future I might.

As for Final Fantasy 15 on Wii U I understand just from a graphical standpoint that it isn't likely ;^^. Hopefully Sqaure Enix will show a lot of good stuff on Gamescon and on TGS . Still I would like some Square Enix games on my Wii U ^^.

Re: Talking Point: Wii U Gamers Have Been Treated Poorly By The Third-Party Retail Scene, But The System Still Brings Joy

Kimite

@arnoldlayne83 (Yup I changed my profile picture and I think it describe my taste ^^).

Anyway, yes my backlog is huge too.

And yes Square Enix and other JRPGs companies are focusing on the PS4 instead of Wii U ;^^. I think Square Enix should have released some Virtual Console games at least on the Wii U if not big games like Final Fantasy 15 :-/. (Kingdom Hearts 3 Wii U/NX ;^;).

Either way I will probably get a PS4 sooner or later, but before that I will probably buy Wii U's JRPGs like Xenoblade X and SMTvsFE .

Re: Talking Point: Wii U Gamers Have Been Treated Poorly By The Third-Party Retail Scene, But The System Still Brings Joy

Kimite

@arnoldlayne83

Kingdom Hearts, Dragon Quest, The World Ends With You, (Okami), Shin Megami Tensei, the "Tales of" series, (Pokémon Mystery Dungeon), Ninokuni and more games like that .

There are probably many great games on the PS Vita and there games that have poked my interest . Still I may have the money for a PS Vite, but not the time in terms of my backlog ;-_-.

If you wonder Arnold I will get a PS4 for Kingdom Hearts 3 .

Re: The Miiverse Redesign Will Go Live on 29th July

Kimite

@abe_hikura Sorry for being late, but life ;^^.

Yeah, I don't use the terms heroine either and I don't really feel like it always fit either. (Though English is my second language anyway).

We or at least I don't know the full reason behind it not being Link in different colors, but yes it would be fun if there was a girl posing as Link . (Or please add a playable female later Nintendo o^o). As you said there are many female who cosplay as Link instead of crossplaying and I wouldn't mind if Nintendo added Linkle later in Tri-Force Heroes .

Re: Talking Point: Wii U Gamers Have Been Treated Poorly By The Third-Party Retail Scene, But The System Still Brings Joy

Kimite

In my view it hasn't been just Nintendo's or the third party studio's fault that the Wii U doesn't have that many third party games, but also Nintendo fans/Wii U owners like myself ;^^. (I know other people have mentioned similar things before).

While it is not just us Nintendo fans fault that the Wii U doesn't have that many third party games, but I am not the kind of person who buy games like Assassin Creed or Guitar Hero for that matter ;^^.

I am a person who buy Adventure, Puzzle, (Simulation) and (J)RPGs . I would love more games from Square Enix and other (J)RPGs in general ^^. I have no interest in the AAA American third party games, but I prefer games that are usually made in Japan. I do buy a fair amount of indie games so I am not just a Nintendo only person.

As other people have mentioned that the lack of big third party games might also be affected by that in the beginning many third party games wasn't as polished as they should have been and ended up hurting the future third party reputation among Nintendo fans ;^^.

And yes, Nintendo could definitely marketed the Wii U a lot better which is probably the biggest reason why the Wii U never hit the gaming market as much as it could have done. Also the Wii U itself could probably have been better with longer battery life and being able to take the Wii U out of the house in a offline mode where you can have at least one game. Also the Wii U is a bit pricey for to just be a pick up buy many places ;^^.

I actually think EA could port PC Spore over to the Wii U or made a new Spore game on the Wii U if it is made well and could maybe be a little counterpart to No Man's Sky, but at least it could be a interesting concept. As for Ubisoft more games like Child of Light and Valiant Hearts in my view .

In the end I want to say I love my Wii U even if it isn't perfect ^^.

(I know I have mentioned many things other people have said, but I wanted to sum it up in my view).

Re: The Miiverse Redesign Will Go Live on 29th July

Kimite

@abe_hikura

I think it is well too bad that Tri-Force Heroes doesn't feature a female character as I am a female myself ;^^. A bit jokish, but at bit sad at the same time: Girls can't heroes, they are heroines not heroes. Well, yeah :-/.

Still there have been a lot/some funny drawings with Link in Zelda's dress and I don't mind it . (Still someone goes a bit far in my taste ;^^).

Re: The Miiverse Redesign Will Go Live on 29th July

Kimite

@abe_hikura
I see ^^. Well right now we can just hope I guess and I think will see some sort of Zelda U information before November . (I hope like you said Nintendo shows Zelda U Link right after or in the end of the Tri-Force Heroes part).

Hopefully Miiverse/internet will be kind to Link when he is in Zelda's dress in Tri-Force Heroes ;^^.

Re: The Miiverse Redesign Will Go Live on 29th July

Kimite

@abe_hikura

I wouldn't mind if Nintendo waited with showing Zelda U until November, but hopefully we will get some small information before that as many Zelda fans is very hunger for Zelda U information ;^^.

Even if Nintendo just show Zelda U Link again before November I think many Zelda fans like me would be happy .

(I have survived waiting for Kingdom Hearts 3 information and I will survive waiting for new Zelda U information too).

Re: The Miiverse Redesign Will Go Live on 29th July

Kimite

@Aromaiden
Yeah, I hope Zelda U will be shown soon too ^^.

@Grumblevolcano
Could happen I guess, I mean that Nintendo time the Nintendo Direct and the Miiverse update on the same day wouldn't be too unlikely I think. As for the other things we will see, but most of the other things you mentioned except number 2 don't have that much to do with games as that it would be revealed in a Direct ;^^.

Still I hope Nintendo will announce that they will restock a lot of Amiibos as well and in terms of Mario Kart 8 on Gamescom it would be nice .

Though, I think in the next Nintendo Direct there will be a little tribute to Iwata and I hope it is done well.

Re: The Miiverse Redesign Will Go Live on 29th July

Kimite

@Grumblevolcano

Yeah I know ;^^. Still I think there might be Nintendo Direct in August, as there as so many things supposed to come out then ^^. (Hopefully this means that we will see Zelda U too .).

I think it is likely that we will see the Rainmaking mode and the true match-making system for Splatoon, Tournament mode for Smash, Devil's Third, upcoming dates for fall games, announcing new localized/going to be localized titles, indies and actually maybe Nintendo's new mobile game .

I am not sure if we will see Zelda U in the August Nintendo Direct if it comes true in August, but at least we know we will get more information about Zelda U sooner or later ^^.

Re: The Miiverse Redesign Will Go Live on 29th July

Kimite

@Aromaiden

Mostly it is just the quality in my view as now nearly everything feels like small memes or questions that have been so many times before :-/. Of course there are good drawings and good artists in the Zelda community still, but not as much as there was before ;^^.

What I would like is more interesting and good discussions, mini comics, maybe Hylian alphabet posts, well thought-out (mini) Fanfictions, and more good drawings .

Re: The Miiverse Redesign Will Go Live on 29th July

Kimite

The main problem for most of the active people on Miiverse it that you can only post/comment 30 times per day which is a bit of a shame in a way :-/. Though the new the design look cool and I hope the new update will be better than what we can foresee now .

Still Miiverse and specifically the Zelda community has become a pretty weird place lately for some weeks ;^^. If it is one thing I hope this update will do is to raise the general quality on Miiverse and in the Zelda community especially in my case ^^.

Re: Nintendo Offers Humble Thanks For Condolences Following Satoru Iwata's Funeral

Kimite

What some fantastic and touching tweets ^^. While it is really sad that Iwata has died and I wish he didn't, but if there are one good thing coming out of this is to see the love from us fans .

I have played many of the games Iwata was a part of and I really love them and will try to think about Iwata a bit once in a while when I play them.

Rest in peace, Satoru Iwata.

Re: Rumour: Nintendo Isn't Bringing Devil's Third To North America

Kimite

I am pretty sure someone said this before, but my take on this is that before we outrage too much we should wait for the reviews for Devil's Third before saying that it should really have come to America or not ;^^. Still as it is just a rumor for now we just have to wait and see if Nintendo confirms that they have no plans of releasing Devil's Third in America, as NOA might change their minds if Devil's Third gets good scores in Europe .

Personally I have no interested in Devil's Third due to I am not a fan of realistic violence and prefers less visible violence ;^^. Still I hope Devil's Third turn out to be good both for us, Nintendo and the developers of Devil's Third .

(English is my second language).

Re: Video: This News Anchor Sure Is Excited About Super Mario Maker

Kimite

Finally some good advertising from Nintendo ^^. I am glad to see that Nintendo are advertising more and more for the normal person and make it this big on Fox News .

Hopefully this is a sign that Nintendo will step up their advertisements, and show people who are and aren't lapsed Nintendo fans the joy of playing Nintendo games no matter what age ^^.

An anime would really help and right now it would be the prefect time to release a Splatoon anime or a good Mario anime if done right to promote Mario Maker (or animation like the Pikmin Shorts).

Still in the end I wish Nintendo the best of luck both in terms of the Wii U and the NX .

Re: Video: Disney Magical World 2 Looks as Charming as the Original, and Has Frozen In It

Kimite

@Nintendzoey
Yeah, I have heard that Disney are making a new Ducktales series and I am really looking forward to it too ^^. Still I wouldn't mind Mickey/Donald shorts like the one called "Get A Horse" that was shown right before Frozen started on the cinema.

Disney should embrace their history more I think and create more quality shows for the TV Disney channels like they use to in my view . (Sorry, but the shows nowadays on Disney Channel are just too weird for me and I am not that old either ;^^).

Still as long Disney create nice movies, I am fine .

Re: Video: Disney Magical World 2 Looks as Charming as the Original, and Has Frozen In It

Kimite

@Nintendzoey

I see ^^. I will think about picking Disney Magical World up, but not sure if I am going to wait for the second or not, but we will see. Still I think I would prefer a Disney game that blends Kingdom Hearts, Epic Mickey, old Disney cartoons and also a bit of the new game Cuphead to create a new exciting Disney game .

(I want (new) classic Disney cartoons with Donald and the rest of Duckburg bunch on TV again ;^;. As a Scandinavian I have grown up with Classic Disney and it isn't Christmas without some classic Disney for me .).

Re: Video: Disney Magical World 2 Looks as Charming as the Original, and Has Frozen In It

Kimite

Hi, I wondered if the first Disney Magical World was good as I am a Disney fan, but are a bit it on the fence due to... what we can call girliness ;^^.

I am a female/tomboy and I love Kingdom Hearts and really enjoying the different emotional and exciting stories. Also how Disney and Square Enix has fleshed out the Disney characters, and of course the Kingdom Hearts characters too .

I love RPGs and notice that Disney Magical World has a adventure mode which I am curious about and would like to try it if it is good enough ^^.

(Still it seems like many of you like Disney Magical World .).

Re: Rumour: Nintendo NX Shipping This Time Next Year, 20 Million Sales Targeted In First 12 Months

Kimite

@Platypus101

Hi, sorry for being a bit late ;^^.

Anyway, I have to say I prefer good/amazing/mind blowing games over the current VR technology just saying .

I think right now AR technology are more suited for games if done right than VR. (Who wants to play a VR RPG on the coach by todays VR standard). I think if VR is truly going to be good/functional, it has to reach the point where it can be like a Amusphere from Sword Art Online and I would play a Zelda VR game in full-dive mode .

But the most important thing is that the games are good .

Re: Rumour: Nintendo NX Shipping This Time Next Year, 20 Million Sales Targeted In First 12 Months

Kimite

If Nintendo are going to be able to sell 20 million NX in 12 months I think Nintendo has 3 choices.

First: A homeroom console that comes with a kind of Smartphone or at least being able to send messages and ring like a normal phone with Nintendo themed games in-built.

Second: Ar like Microsoft's Hololens, but is better or can handle playing games offline so you can take it out of the house and don't need to be connected to a PC.

Third: VR like Oculus Rift or like Sony's Morpheus... or is the technology really strong enough to pull a Amusphere from the Sword Art Online series o.o. (Note: Not Nervegear at all). Still I would love to play Zelda U in a Amusphere like device ^^.

(Note: Also the NX has to be way better marketed than the Wii U ;^^).

Re: Take More Risks With Your eShop Purchases, Pleads Nintendo's Damon Baker

Kimite

For me the problem isn't money that much, but instead time . I have already planned to buy Legend of Kay and Art Academy: Atelier this month and those two titles are both kind of long and expensive for a eShop title ;^^. I think I have enough for this month, I do have games indie games I want to buy, but unfortunately I never have time for them all even if I wanted ;^^.

Still I do appreciate the number of indie games available and I wish them the best of luck .

Re: The Current State Of Virtual Reality Just Isn't Fun, Says Nintendo's Reggie Fils-Aime

Kimite

My opinion:
VR: No thanks. (Too early right now in my mind or use rail shooters like Star Fox maybe).
AR: Yes please ^^.

Right now I feel the AR technology is more suited for gaming than the VR technology, due to things like you can actually see where you are walking when you are suing AR which you can't really now with VR ;^^. (If VR can, please update me).

I mean in my view Pokémon would be perfect for AR ^^, as you could actually see and interact with them as long as you don't touch them since you would got right through with your hand.

The Zelda formula could fit the AR like when you have a (tree) stick you could ask the AR device to create a layer that would make the stick look like a sword .

Also like when you are jogging you could have a path of rupees/(Nintendo theme reward) and the amount of rupees you can get could be calculated from how long and how fast you run.

There probably thousand of other things I could have mentioned, but right now I think AR look more promising than VR .

Re: Iwata Vows To Listen To E3 2015 Digital Event Feedback And "Work To Better Meet Your Expectations"

Kimite

(Copy pasting with a bit fixing from my Miiverse post of mine. Sorry if the context or the layout look a bit weird ;^^).

I think the Nintendo Digital Event wasn't amazing, but I think we have to remember something important. Just 16/15 days ago Nintendo showed off a lot of Wii U games and I think this direct suffered from too much focus on developers and unnecessary details ;^^. (Still the Muppet part were a high point for me ^^).

I mean we know the true Art Academy for Wii U, Project Treasure, Devil's Third, upcoming Splatoon DLC and collaborations, Fatal Frame and other Wii U games that are coming, but wasn't mentioned in the Digital Event, maybe some strange decisions I guess ;^^.

(Why didn't Nintendo say anything about some of these during the Nintendo Direct? o.O).

I think the Digital Event had too many spin-offs compared to what we expected them to announce and it became a bit too much ;^^. Details such as the Skylanders collaboration was maybe stretched too much out for what was needed ;^^.

If Nintendo showed Project Treasure and Devil's Third I think the Digital Event would have been better ;^^, or at least balanced a bit more.

As I am a RPGer and a Zelda fan, I have a fair amount of games I am looking forward to.
Such as The Legend of Zelda: Trifore Heroes, Hyrule Warriors Legend, SMTxFE, Youkai Watch and Mario and Luigi: Paper Jam. (Why not a proper Paper Mario game? ;^^).

Not too bad presentation , but still could have been a better presentation overall in my opinion ;^^.

Re: Nintendo Hoping That Splatoon Will Tempt Lapsed Fans To Splash Out On A Wii U

Kimite

@Genesaur Yeah ^^. A Splatoon OVA or Mini-series could be really cool as I mentioned before. If Splatoon had an anime running through the summer holiday I think it could potentially make a big hit if Nintendo do it right ^^.

If Splatoon does well enough we might see an anime movie based upon it if not a mini-anime series.

I think a Splatoon Anime/movie could lead to many additional potential buyers that would buy Splatoon or Wii U otherwise .

Re: Nintendo President Satoru Iwata Is Skipping E3 Again This Year

Kimite

Whether or not Iwata is attending E3 or not I am sure we Nintendo fans will have a blast anyway . Of course you never know what Skype and the Nintendo Treehouse Event can do if Nintendo decides to show Iwata there.

As long I get some kind of Zelda information even if it isn't Zelda U, I am happy ^^.

Re: Nintendo Hoping That Splatoon Will Tempt Lapsed Fans To Splash Out On A Wii U

Kimite

I think Splatoon could be a real hit among kids if Nintendo for example made a mini anime series of it and did it right. I am not going to elaborate this for long, but as a person who grew up in the Pokémon generation and seeing much of an impact it have had on me and made me a fan of Nintendo games in general.

We can see the same effect today in Japan with Youkai Watch and the anime made Youkai watch series huge and the same could be said for the 3DS games too.

As for Splatoon in the non-Nintendo 13+ age fan market I am not sure... but I do think if Nintendo do the marketing and everything else right, I think Splatoon could become a bigger hit then what we can imagine now.

Also I noticed something, the Nintendo manger said 12-25 boys as a target group, but girls can be a fan of games like Splatoon too I think.

As for lapsed Nintendo fans I am not sure... but who knows maybe Nintendo can change lapsed Nintendo fans mind with Splatoon and other gamers with their upcoming Digital Event at E3.

Re: Konami And Square Enix Post Positive Financials, Despite A Lack Of Major Console Releases

Kimite

@Bagels I see. I am a person that likes games like Dragon Quest and there have been many Dragon Quest related games that have yet to be released in the west. I would really like to play more Square Enix games and like you mentioned Bagels it would be good if Bravely Second is going to be localized to us non-Japanese people too .

More localized Square Enix games the better ^^.

(Also Square Enix press conference and Nintendo's N Digital Event will be at the same time apparently >_>).

Re: Rumour: Mickey, Minnie Mouse and Olaf Among Characters on the Way in Disney Infinity 3.0

Kimite

Hum, not bad I guess for the Disney lineup .

Anyway, I have been thinking about this, but should Sora from Kingdom Hearts be in Disney Infinity or in Smash Bros with an Amiibo figure later?

Personally I have to say I would love if Sora was in Smash ^^, but consider that Square Enix share their rights with Disney in terms of Kingdom Hearts characters I am not sure if Sora can be in Smash legally ;^^.

Still potentially it would be a amazing if he could at least be in Smash if not in Disney Infinity too ^^.

(Note: I don't own Disney Infinity yet due to backlog, but I am thinking about buying Disney Infinity especially after Mickey, Donald and Stitch is out now).

Re: Nintendo Highlights Increased US Hardware Sales for Wii U and 3DS in 2015

Kimite

@Yorumi True.I don't think Wii U had the best launch games either, as I remember waiting until buying/getting the Wii U until Earthbound came out. I wasn't either jumping on the "Wii U Train" when the Wii U came out at first. I think maybe the Wii U could have done/sold better if it launched with Mario Kart 8 and Smash Bros U theoretically.

Stil I do believe the Wii U can capture more people by launching great art related games/applications and great games in general that appeal to more people than just the corset of the Nintendo fans .

(Bed now, wouldn't answer before tomorrow).

Re: Nintendo Highlights Increased US Hardware Sales for Wii U and 3DS in 2015

Kimite

To those who are disappointed in the lack of variety on the Wii U and especially you @Yorumi. (Not meant in a bad way at all Yorumi ;^^). I would say wait until after E3 with judging the Wii U, since it was actually exactly just 2 months to E3 yesterday.

I do agree that the games we have seen until now on the Wii U haven't really been that groundbreaking, but still a ton of solid and fun games has come out on the Wii U in my view.

In terms of third party games, what kind of third party games do we Nintendo gamers want for the Wii U? For me I think I want more Square Enix games on Wii U and story based games in general.

As for Nintendo making sequels is kind of natural I think, but the sequels should at least differentiate themselves from the previous entities in their series with adding new tweaks to make the sequel more interesting.

I think will wait and see if I think the Wii U as a bad future after E3, though I will probably end up on okey and higher anyway .

Re: Nintendo Highlights Increased US Hardware Sales for Wii U and 3DS in 2015

Kimite

@ikki5 I would like to ask who really classified the Dreamcast and also the Wii U as failures? I don't know who did it, but was it us gamers or the big game webisides to make big headlines?

How high have the sales numbers has to be in order to not be a failure really? If it classifid as sales numbers and sales speed compared to the competitors it can be true, but from what last I heard the Wii U and
Xbox One difference wasn't that high, tough it wouldn't surprise me if the Xbox One is a bit more ahead now.

In the end I am happy with my Wii U and I don't care that much if it considered a failure or not .

(I know you mentioned the Dreamcast Ikki5, but I don't really know much about the Dreamcast honestly ;^^).

Re: Nintendo Highlights Increased US Hardware Sales for Wii U and 3DS in 2015

Kimite

@FlaygletheBagel I agree with you that there are a lot of things Nintendo could have done better in terms of messaging the Wii U to the overall audience and especially those not interested in gaming. I do think too the name Wii U wasn't the best either and maybe focused too much on either the casuals or the hardcore in the beginning.

As for the mobile aspect you are right, much of the previous Wii owners didn't upgrade to the Wii U since most of them had moved over to mobile. Like you said the Wii U had many third party games in the beginning and if I remember right didn't many of the third party games have bugs too?

Though it is sad that the Wii U version of many third party games are missing content and you have to pay more for it value-wise in some cases like you said FlaygletheBagel. The only way I guess it make sense is developememt time and resources in terms of porting and other factors I guess. Also game like Arkham Origins don't tend to that well on Wii U as many of the Wii U owners including myself aren't interested in those kinds of games.

I think the Nintendo audience can be classified as core/hardcore players depending on how you see it, though each to their own.

As for Assassin Creed and Batman I can't can't really say I am interested on those kinds of games personally, but I do miss Square Enix games on Wii U so I do feel your frustration.

As I live in Scandinavia I can't really say anything about the advertisement in America or the rest of Europe. But I do agree that Nintendo made it hard non-Nintendo fans to understand that the Wii is the console and not a controller.

I do believe the Wii U Gamepad could have been an add-on or at least focused on making the Wii U stronger in terms of preformence overall. One thing I can say is that I love the Off-TV function and bearly use the TV anymore when I am playing on the Gamepad .

I do agree Nintendo could have done a better job in pitching the best console solution to the Nintendo owners, but I think Nintendo tried to capture both the casual and the hardcore at the same time with the Wii U and could also be one of the factors why it sold less then it could otherwise have done if Nintendo did understand their core audience better.

In the end thinking about what have happened on the past wouldn't help Nintendo make the best future both for themselves other than in terms of learning from their mistakes and the Wii U better until the "NX" comes out. I do hope Nintendo will success or at least survive for the next few years .

(Sorry if my English is a bit simplified, but as a Scandinavian I still have a lot to learn in terms of English still and I am on my iPod at the moment as I aren't home right now ;^^).

Re: Nintendo Highlights Increased US Hardware Sales for Wii U and 3DS in 2015

Kimite

I don't really think the Wii U should be classified as a failure, but rather as "A console that that capture the hearts of people who owned it" .

If the Wii U is really a failure it is market-wise in my view ;^^. I mean the games on the Wii U are usually great and the only genre I really see lacking right is the (J)RPG genre ;^^. Still I think we can really looking forward to Xenoblade X and FExSMT.

As I see the previous comments have been a lot about Sega, but I can't really say anything as I didn't really grew up in that period I think ;^^.

Still I think the most important thing is that the people who own the Wii U are happy with it .

Re: Nintendo Highlights Increased US Hardware Sales for Wii U and 3DS in 2015

Kimite

I still think the Wii U has the bigger potential to become a bigger success if Nintendo does it right. I think many of us grew up with the Pokemon anime when we where young or at least I did.

I haven't really seen a lot of Nintendo commercials lately either or a Nintendo inspired anime/cartoon. I think if Nintendo could make a new anime/cartoon based upon one of their popular franchises or maybe make a new kind of Pokemon anime, I think Nintendo's popularity and Wii U's sales would go up too most likely ^^.

I do think the Wii U has reached 10 million by now or if not very soon. I don't think the Wii U is a bad console at all that resulted in the kind of low sales numbers, but rather the lack of proper advertisementa to non-Nintendo gamers like parents and kids that are just old enough to become interested in playing video games ;^^.

As an art device the Wii U still has a lot of potential I think and could excel in making a game/RPG Maker application available to attract people who are interesting in making games.

In the end, time will tell I guess .

Re: Reggie Fils-Aime Highlights Nintendo's Strength in Franchises, and Goal for Wii U to "Stand Up To Time"

Kimite

I will just say that I really like my Wii U and I really enjoy playing off-TV on my Gamepad in general.

(Disclaimer: English is my second language so there might be some weird grammar in my text.

For one, in terms of third party games I think it is not about that most Nintendo fans don't want third party games, but rather what kind of third party games we are talking about. Like for example I am aren't really interested in shooters, assassinations, football and games with blood in general ;^^.

Like for example I think maybe Nintendo fans including myself want more (J)RPGs localized from Square Enix (I miss you ;^;) and maybe more 3D adventure games.

Me personally are more into story, adventure, puzzle based games like Zelda, Kingdom Hearts, The World Ends With You, Okami, Picross, Dragon Quest, Chrono Trigger, to a degree Kirby games and Pokémon games (more interested in the Dungeon ones now), "Tales of" games and many others too I just don't remember right now.

You see I am not strictly a Nintendo fan, I need to feed my (J)RPG carvings too .

I also think Nintendo could take more advantage of the Gamepad that it is actually a screen we can draw on and create beautiful artwork like we can see in the Art Academy Community on Miiverse.

We could have a game/application program where we could create our own small 2D/3D games and share them with each other. I mean for example a Zelda (Dungeon) Maker where we could make our own little areas we could design ourselves and maybe we are even able unlock special mechanics, items, skins through the different Amiibos. (Or like Tipping Stars).

Anyway, as for more "Mature" third party games I am not sure how many of them we Nintendo fans are interested in, even if they are really well done ;^^. Still more games should always be welcomed in my view .
