............. YESSS!!!!!!! Nightdive you are doing unheard of things for those who love these path-less-travelled first person shooters. This game is one of my favorites of the genre, flaws and all. This is fantastic.
@Serpenterror Add Zero the Kamikaze squirrel to that! Evercade brought these characters back recently but it would be sick to see the 90s mascot platformer parade get widespread exposure again.
Atari really is in a good place right now and its lovely to see. They seem focused on becoming a retro video game house rather than desperately trying to break into markets they had no business in.
A 3D Donkey Kong collectathon with many playable Kongs is my top hope. One of the only true gripe with Returns and Tropical Freeze was the bare bones cast of Kongs. No Candy, Swanky, Wrinkly, Chunky, Tiny, Lanky, or Uncle Kong himself.
After remastering this game, I have some level of hope they'd be able to restore Killing Time. Arguably the best FPS on the 3DO and the best story I've experienced in a game pre-2000s.
PO'd looks so good though, I plan on diving in eventually.
I hadn't heard of this one before, but color very interested. Looks like a wishlist item. That said... The term "doom-clone" sucked as a genre description since it implied the game was literally just Doom with a different coat of paint... but "boomer shooter" is somehow even worse. XD
Destroy All Humans 3, Darksiders 4, (maybe a collection of the first three games and Genesys?) Biomuant 2, Elex 3.... I'm not asking for much just a bunch of brand new games hehe.
People keep calling these games 'nostalgic' but 3D platformer junkies like me are often starved for fun games. Seriously, its one of the biggest and more opportunity filled genres in gaming and indies are eating where AAA's have frustratingly slipped a groove. Love this.
Oh and I see Jak and Sly Cooper slander above. Don't wake the beast.
I'm seeing a lot of negativity, but Qubic has published several very enjoyable titles. Akane, Dex, Blade of Darkness, and of course they hold the rights to Bit.Trip.
Steel Diver: Sub Wars' servers already got the axe, loaded it up for the first time in a while last month... boom. Hopefully third party servers for that will exist one day in the not far future. For 3DS online multiplayer I never had more fun than in those waters.
@rvcolem1 Definitely. I've been playing these games solo for decades now (ouch lol.) The Galactic Conquest mode in either game keeps me coming back and back.
I went into this with not much to expect. Battlefront and Battlefront II, Epic Mickey remaster (just get that game into more peoples' hands) and a new freaking ENDLESS OCEAN? It was a very nice surprise.
This update is fixing the little things that held the game back somewhat. Genuinely cannot recommend Siactro's bitesized games enough. Super Kiwi 64 was fun as was, but this just makes me so happy.
Metroid Prime Remastered. One of the best games I've ever played, in IMO the greatest remaster of all time. A gold standard for remasters and the gold standard for 3D video games.
There's only a few systems I keep plugged in at all times. The Wii U is one of those few. Such a lovely system and the thus far the last to really feel like a Nintendo box to be honest. The Switch is a very good system but it doesn't have that Nintendo personality I always have loved.
I was waiting for the Series X to get a few heavy hitters before seriously considering it. Starfield is the first game to make me scratch my chin and consider making a financial mistake lol.
Metroid Prime Remastered is probably one of the most visually pleasing games I've ever seen, and the original was already a master class of art design.
@Adol-Bannings Most likely for fans of Tecmo Bowl, classic Madden, Joe Montana Football on the Genesis, and the modern audience Retro Bowl has (rightfully) captured as a laid back, classic style football game. See people in my office playing that game almost daily.
There's a reason I continue to play Madden 2004 and NFL Gameday 2002 so much to this day. Making the game fun, the franchise mode deep, and the physics rewarding have all been lacking in Madden for nearly 15 years now.

Re: Feature: "This Isn't Just Yars, It's A Love Letter To Atari" - How WayForward Is Breaking The Mould With 'Yars Rising'
@BrianJL Ironically the ball in Pong is kind of their defining character. You see that thing bouncing from one wall to another, you think of Atari.

Re: Talking Point: How Do You Define 'Retro'?
I have a bad feeling I'm gonna be stuck considering 6th generation onward to be 'modern' for the rest of my days lol.

Army Men and Army Men II on GBC are pretty fun, just saying, no bias here.

Motorstorm (PS3), WipeOut Pure (PSP), Aspire: Ina's Tale (Switch)

My Christmas Eve tradition is to play the living room/Christmas tree themed level from Army Men: Sarge's Heroes.

Metroid Prime Remastered. One of the best games I've ever played, in IMO the greatest remaster of all time. A gold standard for remasters and the gold standard for 3D video games.
Re: Talking Point: What Classic Sega Franchises Do You Want To See Rebooted?
@GamingFan4Lyf Oh man I'd love to see what a new Altered Beast would look like, especially with the recent revival of the sidescrolling brawler.
Re: Talking Point: What Classic Sega Franchises Do You Want To See Rebooted?
I'd take a bullet for NiGHTS 3.
Re: Sega Appears To Be Teasing A Game Awards Surprise
bloobs
In all honesty i wouldn't be surprised if it was a teaser for Sonic the Hedgehog 3.
Re: 'Atari 50' Is Getting More Games Via Free Updates, 12 Dropping Next Week
Jaguar is the obvious big fish here. Without jumping through licensing hoops I'm personally hoping for Battlemorph, Iron Soldier and Hover Strike.

Army Men: Air Combat and Diddy Kong Racing.

Luigi and Daisy, to reinforce canon.
Re: Soapbox: Rayman Legends Blew My Mind Then Broke My Heart
@eaglesfly76 Origins is a masterpiece in its own right.
Re: Soapbox: Rayman Legends Blew My Mind Then Broke My Heart
Rayman 2 is my favorite 3D platformer of all time, and Rayman Legends is easily in my top five (or top three) 2D platformers. Bliss of gaming.

Sonic Frontiers and Transformers: The Game (PS2)
Re: Poll: Which Dormant Nintendo Franchise Would You Most Like To See Return?
F-Zero has been the most disrespected.
Star Fox hasn't had an original game that generally pleased its fans since Assault in 2005, which wasn't even developed by a Nintendo studio.
