@tsm7 I had one crash in the mines after level 9. I was head in hands thinking I’d lost all my goodies but thankfully they were still the when I rebooted. Rare for a game to crash like that. Maybe a patch is needed.

@Rodan2000 not to get all Buddhist or anything....I suspect that what people are addicted to is desire. New machines allow for the feeling of desire, and desire can never be satiated.

For me, I’m very happy with the switch and my back log is long enough to last me through next year, even without new titles being launched

Loving The Touryst! I’m stuck at a particularly fiddly jumping bit but otherwise be a straightforward , joyful game. Lots of bite sized homages to other games and the mini arcade you find is fantastic. Spent an hour in there alone playing a title I’ve always enjoyed

I’m a big fan of voxel graphics. Not all the time but done well, it’s a nice change. I might give this one a whirl if the single player is decent too.

Being a parent is hard. “There are no rule books or user manual” is a cliche but true. Often the only guide you have as a new parent is to look at how your parents raised you.

For me, I have a simple rule, “moderation.” I love playing Mario kart with my little one and I know she will get plenty of fun with Minecraft when she’s just wanting a bit of playtime to herself. But....I won’t let games dominate her time (I’m the grown up, I can say “enough”). Time to go out and play, see museums, go and do some crafts or cooking. You know, just live a full and interesting life. Life gets hard, and for some kids sadly, is hard. Why deny a simple pleasure? Just use some sense. Mario, yes. Wolfenstein for a child, erm...no.

@Ooyah get well soon. Games can be great therapy. I once had some (basic) surgery that had me laid up for 10 days, I basically lived in Animal Crossing....

I’m budgeting right now, so triple aaa titles are out. I have Witcher to crack on with but I really like the look of The Touryst, just checked a review in youtube.

I also wish the ultimate games would come to the switch, but with a few quality of life additions a remake of Underwurlde would make me very happy.

I just haven’t got into my groove with it yet. Love skyrim, love breath of the but this hasn’t clicked. It will. Looking for the winter IRL to kick in and I can sink some proper hours into it.

I’m woefully ignorant of the Chinese game dev scene. I do know that if that countries technical talent turns its ha da to games we will have a lot more games!

Plus a different view point in terms of narrative. The “Three Body Trilogy” of books are amazing (also some gaming concepts in there too).

Why stop with the volume? How about when you start a game only the “up” motion of one analogue stick works until you find the additional mo events, the the BAXY button functions?

It’s also dark as the Witcher until you find the Brightness mode...

I could see how this may appeal to some folk. Not me. I like the premise but I’d want to make some actual mini games. Plus I can’t imagine this being fun on the Lite, tiny text being a bit of an issue for me. Still, original idea and the more Switch games the better...good luck with it.

My budget is tight so I’m holding off. Would like to play Luigi, Pokemon im not fussed about (yet). Hat in time needs to be explored at some point. For now, need to clear the backlog and some games I’ve barely touched (looking at you Steamworld Digg 2).

I suspect the whole idea was based on considerable customer Demographic research. Young people are in the gym on the regular round here (nyc) in same way my gen (x) would go to the pub.

I was very happy with the GameCube and n64 but I do remember how lean the gaming magazines were for those systems. No internet in those days to speak of. Now with Switch, I spend as much time enjoying reading and talking about games online as Ido actually playing the things

I can see switch hitting 100 million too. Better marketing, more people arriving into the middle class and a few more potential hits like the Ring will broaden the audience.

Mmm well I like the titular character a lot for some reason I’d be down for a slow relaxing game .

Witcher is going to keep me busy for a looooong time. I’ve finished awakening (using play through vids sometimes ), so I need a little counter balance to Witcher. Like someone said above, SMB for sure as long as reviews are ok. Luigi looks fun too....ugh.....I’m supposed to be saving money right now. So. Hard.

@zufa86 I finished skyrim by focusing on the plot and getting stuck in. With Witcher I’ve already gone massively off piste as I can’t quite be bothered learning all the crafting etc...I’ll get to it though. It’s super fun in any case and as the winter draws in, I can see myself getting into the story properly. You have the choice which is fantastic. I don’t think you’ll regret buying it if you even slightly enjoyed your time with Skyrim.

@gcunit yeah I suspect you’re right. They need something you can just keep doing like tai chi (which prob could just work with the joy con) or Zumba etc... just regular work out stuff
