NL has been a daily visit for years now - love it ! However, I hate subscriptions in general and the ads served here are game related so I don’t kind them ..:
I would kick in some cash though - as I do with a news site I like I give them a one off payment to support them , also the same with a local indie radio station. I’m happy to kick in 10 or so bucks but not regularly as my finances change every month . Anyway. Keep going !
I can happily manage to ignore Ubisoft but this is a shame. I used to look forward to e3 but with so many of the big players skipping it, feels like a dead duck . Yes we will have direct stuff but I enjoyed the spectacle and corporate chest beating it was fun to root for “your” team and you knew that there would be some big announcements …. Oh well….
Great story! I did the same trip to Chiang Mai decades ago with a GBA. The two senior train staff came and joined us for an all night Mario Kart session. Total blast. The Lite is almost perfect. An OLED screen and a mini HDMI would make it perfect
Share up by 0.81% today and down 19.01% in total for the year so far and 5.15% over the last 5 years. Still, as a fairly clueless investor in general, I like to have some "skin in the game" of Nintendo, it's sort of fun owning a bit (tiny tiny bit). I have faith in the company's longevity so we shall see where this little nut is in 10 years time. I can be fairly confident there will be some amazing games in that time
I'll be getting this tonight despite not really managing to get through the game the first time round. I seem to struggle with Metroid games difficulty which says more about me than Metroid I suspect. I found Dread too anxious, the discovery element is what I like.
I'll give it another whirl.
Off topic - Timesplitters 2 I remember really enjoying maybe we'll see that again...
Yeah I noticed it’s all “news” and “opinion” far too few “reviews” . Still…. I have an absolutely humongous back log to get through which I’m happy to chip away at over 2023. I just hope that whatever comes next will be backwards compatible .
I love a bit of tetris. I do just one one mode though: full portrait screen. Uncoil the joy comes to play it. I dislike the tiny tetris play area that’s given in most (all?) tetris games….
I doubt anyone is reading this far down the comments but…..there is an issue in this game, for me at least. I fired it up in my OLED in handheld and….wow that text is tiny! It’s basically unreadable and I’m wearing my reading glasses. Kind of spoils it for me as I wanted to relax and get into the lore and descriptions. So this May by docked only for me….I had the same issue with The Witcher.
I’ve had my eye on this since launch, hoping it would be a modern “Elite”. I’m so in the mood for this type of game right now, settle into the autumn and winter with an epic exploration title.
yeah, nice. Something a bit different. Reminds me of that old man wandering about game (forget the name but it was a pleasant distraction for a while).
@Cherkov To err is to be human. Still, imagine if you went to get a haircut, and you got back home and the back hadn't been done. Now you have an unfinished hair cut. You've paid for it. Then a little later in the afternoon, the hair dresser rocks up and cuts the back. They may not have done a good job, but who cares, they can come back later and sort it out shrug
@Bret ha. No, old games were full of them. All I'm saying is, make the game, test it, have it done, sell it. I don't expect to buy a cake only to have the baker turning up later in the day to put the cherry on the top...
90 legends for those in the know…at the tag time and place I guess, but brilliantly inventive and atmospheric, could have been interesting and achingly cool too…what’s next, Eluvium for Animal Crossing?
Diddy Kong racing was my first game on that system and I loved it! I liked the elephant and the accent was some I then you would hear in England , that Anglo-Indian accent, I always liked it. That said, I believe it got changed for a reissue ? A claim it was offensive as I recall. I wonder if anyone had more detail here, I’d particularly like to hear the opinions of any Indian readers, as I’m white it’s not for me to say it’s offensive or not. For me it was an accent I heard growing up and had good associations with and it was refreshing to hear it in a video game.
Good piece. I’ve often thought about “control” and how games give us that, In a world that often doesn’t. I found Minecraft very helpful when I went through a period of panic attacks,T he simple act of control and play being a salve. Agree with others that balance is key, to just stick your head in the digital sand is not a long term solution, that’s where good friends, self love and therapy comes in.

Re: FIFA Replacement 'EA Sports FC' Officially Unveiled
@samuelvictor this is a good idea, also quite funny. I wonder if there is a pin anti-competitor clause in the contract that would block this?
Re: Super Mario Bros. Movie DVD, Blu-ray And 4K Steelbook Pre-Orders Are Now Live
@MarioBrickLayer good to hear ! I’ll go and see it!
Re: Super Mario Bros. Movie DVD, Blu-ray And 4K Steelbook Pre-Orders Are Now Live
Just read my first review of the film, ouch! Not to yank anyone’s yum and it was in the guardian, so a bit of snobbery there….

Re: Nintendo's Investor Q&A Promises Switch Isn't Dead After Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom
@KorGonia Good list! Love folding, waterproofing and the solar ideas. Dislike cameras (parent who is sick of them here).
Re: Nintendo's Investor Q&A Promises Switch Isn't Dead After Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom
@Anguspuss 1000% yes. OLED + HDMI. I'll sign your petition
Re: Nintendo's Investor Q&A Promises Switch Isn't Dead After Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom
PS - just give me the Switch Lite Pro - I'll buy it day one. The Big Old is too big, and it clacks and creaks like an old man walking up stairs.
A Switch Lite Pro to me would be OLED screen, and HDMI. Done!
