Re: Site News: Love What We Do? Become A Nintendo Life Supporter!

KIRO

NL has been a daily visit for years now - love it ! However, I hate subscriptions in general and the ads served here are game related so I don’t kind them ..:

I would kick in some cash though - as I do with a news site I like I give them a one off payment to support them , also the same with a local indie radio station. I’m happy to kick in 10 or so bucks but not regularly as my finances change every month . Anyway. Keep going !

Re: Ubisoft Has Decided To Skip E3 2023, Will Now Host Its Own 'Ubisoft Forward' Event

I can happily manage to ignore Ubisoft but this is a shame. I used to look forward to e3 but with so many of the big players skipping it, feels like a dead duck . Yes we will have direct stuff but I enjoyed the spectacle and corporate chest beating it was fun to root for “your” team and you knew that there would be some big announcements …. Oh well….

Share up by 0.81% today and down 19.01% in total for the year so far and 5.15% over the last 5 years. Still, as a fairly clueless investor in general, I like to have some "skin in the game" of Nintendo, it's sort of fun owning a bit (tiny tiny bit). I have faith in the company's longevity so we shall see where this little nut is in 10 years time. I can be fairly confident there will be some amazing games in that time

Re: Review: Metroid Prime Remastered - A Long-Awaited And Stunning Return Of A Legend

KIRO

I'll be getting this tonight despite not really managing to get through the game the first time round. I seem to struggle with Metroid games difficulty which says more about me than Metroid I suspect. I found Dread too anxious, the discovery element is what I like.

I'll give it another whirl.

Off topic - Timesplitters 2 I remember really enjoying maybe we'll see that again...

I doubt anyone is reading this far down the comments but…..there is an issue in this game, for me at least. I fired it up in my OLED in handheld and….wow that text is tiny! It’s basically unreadable and I’m wearing my reading glasses. Kind of spoils it for me as I wanted to relax and get into the lore and descriptions. So this May by docked only for me….I had the same issue with The Witcher.

@Cherkov To err is to be human. Still, imagine if you went to get a haircut, and you got back home and the back hadn't been done. Now you have an unfinished hair cut. You've paid for it. Then a little later in the afternoon, the hair dresser rocks up and cuts the back. They may not have done a good job, but who cares, they can come back later and sort it out shrug

Re: Nintendo Reassures Fans "More" N64 Games Will Be Added To Switch Online

Diddy Kong racing was my first game on that system and I loved it! I liked the elephant and the accent was some I then you would hear in England , that Anglo-Indian accent, I always liked it. That said, I believe it got changed for a reissue ? A claim it was offensive as I recall. I wonder if anyone had more detail here, I’d particularly like to hear the opinions of any Indian readers, as I’m white it’s not for me to say it’s offensive or not. For me it was an accent I heard growing up and had good associations with and it was refreshing to hear it in a video game.

Re: Feature: How Video Games Can Be Brilliant For Your Mental Health

Good piece. I’ve often thought about “control” and how games give us that, In a world that often doesn’t. I found Minecraft very helpful when I went through a period of panic attacks,T he simple act of control and play being a salve. Agree with others that balance is key, to just stick your head in the digital sand is not a long term solution, that’s where good friends, self love and therapy comes in.
