@sanderev mmmmm.....I get your point, however, nintendo were very quick to point out during the wii/blue ocean strategy era that not only do the compete with other consoles they also compete with cinema, swimming, riding a bike basically any distraction/entertainment. They do offer something no one else does (Disney, Ms, Sony, Apple) and will always have a place in my heart for sure!
I wonder why the respective staff “churn” is like between EA and Nintendo? That’s a good signifier for how a company treats its staff.
After all, if you’re in a midlife/senior position at any of the global software companies, I’d presume you can pretty much walk into any job in the industry. So staff loyalty can be either bought with big salaries and other perks or just be a cool place to work. Hopefully both
@Apportal_SMM2 I see your point now. So the lite is there to be cheaper and fill that end of the market. My hope is efficiencies of scale and/or lowering component prices will one day lead to my desired ultimate device!
@Apportal_SMM2 To be clear: I love the Switch Lite form factor, it’s by far the superior hand held when compared to the OG Switch. The ideal for me would be a Switch Lite WITH and HDMI so it can be played on the TV too!
After almost exclusively playing ac since launch, I’ve started to tentatively see other games on the side. Duke Nukem is fun in the right mood. I’ve just gone back and read NL’s Mr Driller review, think I’ll dip into it, good change of pace.
@Grumblevolcano I suspect you’re right here. So much financial insecurity in everyone’s lives I’d image people are going to be very cautious spending money on non essential, pricey electronic goods this Xmas/holiday season. A Switch is a good purchase and offers a ton of entertainment for the family at a reasonable price (ish).
I have 5 shares and have made $46.44 so far . I’ll never retire on this but it’s enjoyable to have just a little bit of Nintendo. At some point I may earn enough to buy a full price, first party game. Gawd knows I’ve given enough cash to this company down the years.
Remember kids: always invest what you can afford to lose, shares go down as well as up, although the market trend is to go up over the long haul.
@BenAV exactly. I’ve had a little warmth now and then but this is just a solution looking for a problem, typical old school capitalism move, but hey, good luck to them.
@Bevinator I bought two shares at the start of the year. Hardly wolf of Wall Street but I made $30! Mind you, I’ve given nintendo about a billion since 1989 Robin Hood is the app I use
Animal Crossing is taking up life. I must also put a bit of time into Untitled Goose. I jonesed for that game and have maybe played 20 mins....shame! Otherwise, nothing here that grabs me, thankfully!
Yeah, I see the 8/10 score. And no disrespect to an obviously talented and hardworking set of devs but.....man....do I HATE underwater levels. Sorry. I’m moving on
@Mqblank That’s a GREAT idea! They could have a special section of the store. That would be a treat and would get the games into the hands of players, pleasing the devs and fans alike.
I like some of this (coins in pocket, Levis logo being punched by Mario). The classic label with the MARIO logo slapped on looks sloppy.
Nintendo have to be careful here. They are clearly going on a licensing bender at the moment. Don’t want to over do that so everyone gets sick of the site of then. Although I do want the Lego....and the Vans were cool....and oh damn....take the money already....

Re: Lots Of DOOM Games, Skyrim And Wolfenstein Are All 50% Off On Nintendo Switch (Europe)
If you haven’t picked up Wolfenstein I’d highly recommend it at that price. I’ve played skyrim thoroughly but this could be double dipped too.

Galaga would work no?
Re: Review: Namco Museum Archives Vol 1 - A Great Way To Rediscover Namco's Classic NES Titles
There’s some games I enjoy here but I wish it was more optimized for the Switch: Galaga TATE mode, full screen would be lovely for example.
@Jimsbo Popeye was a blast!
Re: Psychedelic Platformer Spinch Brings An Explosion Of Colour To Switch This September
Protect your white babies from a rainbow coalition? Right.....
I doubt there’s any subtext though. This looks pretty good reminds me of Jeff minter a little.

Re: Create Your Own Games On Switch With SmileBASIC 4, Available Next Week
@BillyB god I remember that “trick” not with f.m another game, adventure, forget the title but you could “hack” it and mess around. Fun.

@WOLF13 ha ha, exactly! You’d be hard pressed to break an actual shovel on purpose!

Animals that cross mostly. Finish Touryst, bit of Witcher, second run through odyssey and some shmups

Last campfire and I am dead intrigue and quantum league looks Ike a really fresh idea.

@mariomaster96 Hold your head up with pride! You’re a gamer and one with taste, nothing to be ashamed of there
Re: Video: The Animal Crossing Switch Is One Of The Most Beautiful Things Humankind Has Ever Created
Call me churlish, but I think the switch screen itself should be white. The black kind of breaks the design for me.
Not that I would turn one of these beauties down as is like

Re: The First Animal Crossing: New Horizons Review Is In
@pblive same. I suspect the parent / kid two systems and two game copies is going to be fairly common. Good shake down for money on Nintendo’s part!
However, I can easily see a year or more of entertainment with this (if past games are an indication) so I think that works out as great value.
We’ve already spent two weeks thinking of names for our characters and villages....
