As I am not a huge Smash fan (currently hiding under the table to avoid things being thrown at my head for making such a statement ) what I am really looking forward to is getting information, gameplay and release dates for Fire Emblem and Yoshi, and seeing more gameplay from the Let’s Go games.
Aside from that, it would be absolutely fantastic if they announced a new Animal Crossing for Switch coming out in the next 12 months (since it’s been 5 years since New Leaf released in the UK, and this is currently the longest we have gone between main-line AC games without an announcement EVER!). I’d also love to see a new Luigi’s Mansion, since the first two games are some of my all-time favourites, an HD remaster of Skyward Sword, or ports of Wind Waker and Twilight Princess on Switch. Or maybe even a Kingdom Hearts 3 announcement for Switch (though that’s the most unlikely thing in the list, since the main numbered entries in the series are massive and probably a smidge out of our favourite hybrid console’s technical capabilities).
To be honest, I’ll still be a very happy gamer with just Pokemon, FE and Yoshi, but any of the other things listed above would make this the best E3 in a loooong time for me. Bring it on, Nintendo!
I have been playing every Pokemon game since Ruby/Sapphire was released when I was 10, and invested 250+ hours in every subsequent game (with the exception of B2/W2, since that came out after my beloved DS died, but before I upgraded to a 3DS). I even clocked in at 400+ hours in OR/AS, since they were remakes of my very first (and most beloved) games, and I loved them to death.
But I stopped playing Moon just after beating the Elite 4, and did not touch it again, even though I had only played it for about 50 hours, and I did not buy Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon at all, since I was, as you put it, a bit burned out. I never got into EV/IV developing and competitive play that much, though I did spend insane amounts of time breeding and hunting for shinies, but the last games had become far too bloated for me, what with Mega Evolutions, Z-Moves, and all that stuff.
But after seeing the trailer for Let's Go, I am finally excited for the series again, in a way I had not been since OR/AS were announced. And though I am a bit perplexed by the new capturing mechanics, as someone who usually spams Max Repels unless I am hunting for a specific Pokemon and is a firm believer in throwing a Quick Ball right off the bat (which literally works 99% of the time, even with legendaries), I actually don't mind it that much. And I LOVE that there are no random encounters, both because it removes the annoying grinding, and because it makes the world look a lot more immersive and real. Plus, this may finally be the game that gets my boyfriend - who has only ever played Pokemon Go and never touched on a Nintendo console until we started dating - into Pokemon, as he was very keen to try out the game after I showed him the trailer.
Overall, I think that Nintendo is doing something very smart here, as they are finally experimenting with a series that has become stale even in the eyes of long-term fans like myself. This could potentially be huge, and if it is not, they are still developing a more traditional game for 2019.
Which makes me really perplexed as to why so many people in the comments sections of NL are complaining about Let's Go. It is obviously not a fleshed-out port of Pokemon Go, we still have no idea of whether all complexity has been stripped out of the game, since all we have seen is a relatively short trailer, and most importantly, Nintendo is STILL developing another "core" RPG for Gen 8. If you don't like the look of the games, you are in no way forced to buy or play them, and you are still getting the more hardcore experience next year.
I guess it's impossible to please the whole of a fanbase as large as Pokemon's, but it does make me wonder whether these people are only complaining because they have to wait for another year before the game they want comes out, while the more casual/open-minded crowd gets something which frankly looks awesome in six months' time.
Chill, guys. This could really bring a lot of new fans to the series, sell millions of Switch consoles, and make a lot of pre-existing Pokemon gamers happy - why so negative? As I said earlier, if you don't like it, you don't have to buy it - and we're all getting a new generation in 2019 anyway.
@NEStalgia haha, that's just because I'm off sick today, so I had the time to analyse every tiny detail in the trailer. I highly recommend checking out some videos on Youtube if you have time to spare: some of the gaming channels have really broken the trailer down frame by frame, turns out there's lost of hidden little things no one would notice!
@NEStalgia this is just from watching the trailer, but it looks like we do have standard turn-based battles against trainers, and I spotted what looked like a gym signpost in one of the screenshots, so I think all that is unchanged. It looks like they got rid of having to battle wild Pokemon before you catch them, though, and you now see them walking about in the tall grass, which means that there should be no more random encounters. I don't think that makes much of a difference, to be honest - I personally am a firm believer in just throwing a Quick Ball right off the bat, which works 99% of the time.
It also looks like Pokemon still have levels - if you look at the trailer at 1:10 and 1:21, you can see that both wild Pokemon and NPCs' Pokemon have a level value next to their name, which hopefully means that this will also work like in the older games. Maybe we will be able to have re-matches against NPCs and gym leaders to make up for the lack of wild Pokemon battles when we need to grind?
Will definitely preorder the Eevee edition once the game listing goes live here in the UK - I am really hyped for this, it looks like a pretty awesome game. And hopefully it'll have given the developers the chance to familiarise themselves with the Switch infrastructure, so we can have an amazing Gen 8 game next year.
I have to admit, I am surprised so many people are complaining about this being a full-price game...it is still a fully-fledged Pokemon RPG - there is a story, gyms (and therefore a League), a region to explore, 151 Pokemon to catch and the usual online battling & trading. The only differences are in the catching mechanic and the fact that there are no breeding and ranked battles, which frankly makes me somewhat relieved, as it removes the grind when trying to catch a specific Pokemon and the competitive scene was never my thing.
Yes, this is not Gen 8, but it also is definitely not just a fleshed-out port of Pokemon Go on Switch, as so many people on this comment section seem to be thinking. It is just a reboot of Pokemon Yellow, with SOME (this being key) features from Pokemon Go mixed in to somewhat reinvent the formula. Plus, Nintendo charged full price for Leaf Green/Fire Red and Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire; why would this be any different?
And just to be clear, I say that as someone who has played every single game in the series with the exception of Black/White 2 and Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon since Ruby came out on GBA. The games were becoming too bloated and over-complicated, what with Ultra Beasts, Mega Evolutions and Z-moves, and had started to feel same-y and in dire need of a reboot. In my opinion, this looks like the right way to go, both to draw new players in and to keep long-time fans like myself from abandoning ship.
@Anti-Matter Yes, Vaporeon, Jolteon and Flareon are all Kanto eeveelutions. Apparently we will not be able to evolve the companion pokemon we start with, but we will be able to evolve other Eevees and Pikachus caught in the wild.
According to Gamespot: “Your starter Pikachu or Eevee cannot evolve in the Let's Go games. However, other Pikachu or Eevee you catch or transfer can be evolved. Only Jolteon, Flareon, and Vaporeon are available out of Eevee's eight current evolutions.”
I have to say, I am really excited for this. And, as a massive Eevee fan, Let’s Go Eevee all the way! I love the art style and the fact that they are finally letting pokemon follow you again, and as someone who has not played a Kanto adventure since LeafGreen in 2005, I am all for it. Though I am not too happy with the new catching mechanics - I don’t have a problem with motion controls, but I really wish we could still battle wild pokemon before capturing them...
Ah, well, it’s not one of the core games anyway - it will definitely keep me busy and scratch that Pokemon itch until late 2019, and hopefully bring a lot of lapsed Gen 1 and Pokemon Go players to the Switch.
I highly doubt they’d do a reveal of the new game on an early morning show aimed at primary school kids, tbh. But it may be a way of relaying news of the new game to kids (Pokemon’s core audience) after an Internet reveal, maybe?
It could make sense if they announced a Pokemon Direct for tomorrow - spreading the news to a wider audience through a kids’ show the morning after the official reveal could be an effective marketing strategy.
Though I’m just taking a gander here, based on the somewhat unlikely chance that Emily Rogers is right and the announcement IS actually coming before the end of May. ;P
EDIT: wrong word used in the bottom paragraph due to bilingual brain failure.
If they announce a new Animal Crossing, I’ll be the happiest gamer on Earth. But I would also settle for the new Fire Emblem, the rumoured Pokemon Let’s Go! Eevee (because I’d LOVE a Kanto remake, though I’m pretty sure I’m part of a very small minority), a Zelda HD collection with Skyward Sword (minus the motion controls), Twilight Princess and Wind Waker, a new Story of Seasons or a port of Fantasy Life.
Though there’s still a chance E3 will be Smash, Mario Tennis, and a port of Amiibo festival... ;P
I may be the only one, but...the concept kind of intrigues me.
I mean, Pokemon Go functionality may be as basic as transferring monsters from Pokemon Go to the game (which wouldn’t be too bad), or being able to hatch eggs got from the game while walking around with your smartphone, so it’s far too early to hit the panic button IMO.
And for all we know, this could be a return to form for the series, with the player starting in Kanto with Pikachu/Eevee and progressing in an open world containing monsters (and regions!) from different generations. I would personally adore something along these lines (though this is, of course, just a wild guess fuelled by wishful thinking).
Or it could be another cookie-cutter experience - we can’t know until we get an actual reveal.
It’s probably wishful thinking, but I’d love to see:
1) Animal Crossing Switch (New Leaf was released 5 years ago, and we have never had a gap longer than 4-5 years between games since the first one was released)
2) Fire Emblem (since it was slated for a 2018 release a few weeks back)
3) a Zelda HD collection with Wind Waker, Twilight Princess and Skywards Sword (probably never going to happen, but I can dream)
4) Pokemon Switch (probably a given, as they need Pokemon if they intend to ship so many consoles this year)
I’m really excited for this game, and the Compendium Edition looked so good, I couldn’t resist, so I preordered it from the Nintendo UK store last night for £79. Can’t believe it’s £95 on Amazon, though, it usually has lower prices than the official store! O.o
Considering how good Smash 4 on WiiU was, I’m kind of hoping that this is an enhanced port.
I mean, if this were to be a complete edition with all the DLC and stages from both the WiiU and 3DS versions, plus a handful of new stages and characters (inklings, BotW Link, Odyssey Mario + Cappy, Ice Climbers, etc) and maybe a fully-fledged story mode, I personally couldn’t be happier.
Though of course even that would make certain people scream PORT! left and right anyway...
Personally, I am really excited for this one - I loved the original game, and will happily play it again on Switch, since my WiiU has been unplugged for almost a year.
And for everyone who is complaining about the number of WiiU ports coming out in the next months...the Switch has already sold more units in a year than the WiiU did in its life cycle, meaning Nintendo can give a number of amazing games a new lease of life with minimal affort and a bit of extra polish. As a company, their aim is to make money - and if people who had never even heard of these games can now buy them for a new, very successful console, there is a chance to sell them again at full price. Plus, there’s double-dippers who want to play the game again on the new console (like yours truly).
Now, if they re-released Wind Waker and Twilight Princess on the Switch, too, I could officially trade my WiiU and my handful of remaining games in...
Wow, wasn't expecting them to drop a Direct on us so quickly! I'll definitely get Tropical Freeze and the Mario + Rabbids DK DLC, and I'm pretty sure I'll double-dip on Hyrule Warriors, since it was one of my favourite games on Wii U and should hopefully release right around my birthday. Fe looks interesting, too, so I might give that a try, as well, depending on price. Overall, not bad at all!
I think the hype for this direct is getting out of hand...it’s only January - we can’t expect E3 levels of content ( which is what most people seem to want)! My prediction is that we’ll see a firm title + release date for the Yoshi game (maybe sometime in Feb/March), a few 1st and 3rd party game announcements, some info on Fire Emblem Switch (since FE games always seem to release in May, before E3), hopefully something on the paid online service, and trailers for the major games to expect January to May. Maybe even a couple smaller eShop titles releasing soon after the direct, if we’re lucky. But I highly doubt anything major is going to be announced.
That said, I would jump through the roof if they mentioned Animal Crossing/Luigi’s Mansion/Story of seasons/Zelda GC or Wii games for VC. Extremely unlikely (aka, NEVER going to happen in a direct), I know, but a girl can dream, right?! 😁
I have to admit, if I had not backed this on Kickstarter, I would not buy it until it got a price drop. £35 is a tad too expensive for an indie, especially since it’s available for half the price on other consoles already.
Great to see this getting such a good review! I loved Hyrule Warriors (my first Musou game) and I will definitely pick this up eventually, but at the moment I have more than enough to play with the new Story of Seasons and Layton games on 3DS and Rayman Legends on Switch - not to mention Odyssey next week, pretty sure that's going to sap ALL of my gaming time for a long while. So this may easily be a Christmas/New Year purchase for me.
I can't wait to play it! Might have to live off tap water and pot noodle all of next month, though - I'm already getting MH Stories, Metroid and Rayman Legends, and now this, too, since it's definitely a day-one pirchase for me.
Looks a little meh as far as limited editions go - I'm going to give it a pass. And as much as I love FE and the Warriors series, I think I'll wait a while before getting the game at all - I'll have Mario + Rabbids, MH Stories, Metroid: Samus Returns and Rayman Legends to work my way through in September and October, and once Odyssey comes out...well, I have a feeling I won't play anything else for a good long while.
For me it's Splatoon 2, Mario + Rabbids and Super Mario Odyssey, although I'll also pick up Skyrim and Fire Emblem Warriors, and maybe Rayman Legends and Pokken, too (if my poor wallet can afford it). There's just too many good games coming out on Switch in the next few months, how is one supposed to choose?!
I had been looking forward to Ever Oasis, but I ended up cancelling my preorder last week - I just went full-time at my job, and between the backlog I have on my PS4 and all the good games coming out in the next few months for Switch, all my gaming time is already booked solid until well after Christmas. I will probably pick it up eventually, since it looks good, but not until well into the new year.
I'm definitely going to get this, but might wait for Christmas or the new year - between Mario Odyssey and the new Ni No Kuni, all my gaming time for November and December is booked solid already. 😜
I enjoyed Hyrule Warriors, and I'm a huge Fire Emblem fan, so I'll definitely pick this up - though I might wait for Christmas, since there are so many great games coming in the next few months.
I have to admit, that looks...surprisingly good. I might give it a try later in the year (if it reviews well). Kudos to Ubisoft for making what looks like a fun, polished game!
I played the hell out of this about five years ago on my PS3, and I'm seriously thinking of double-dipping - it looks like a really well-made port, I love the extra Nintendo touches!
EDIT: Corrected two spelling mistakes (that pesky phone keyboard...)
They had me at the comparison to Fantasy Life - I loved that game so much, it's right up there with Breath of the Wild for me. Will be getting this day one; hopefully between this and FE: Echoes, my neglected 3DS will get some well-deserved love.
@JohnGrey I don't think my justification is any worse than that of those reviewers who said that the game was bad because it was an old-fashioned collectathon platformer - it's just personal preference and different points of view on a defining aspect of the game. It is a project that only came to life because of eighty thousand nostalgic backers, and as one of them I am glad they delivered exactly on their promise, but I understand how the game would only appeal on this level to a relatively niche group of gamers. But it makes me wonder, have you played it? Or are you just basing your opinion on the general negativity that has surrounded the game due to the Jon-Tron debacle, camera issues and old-fashioned gameplay?
Edit: sorry, I went back into the comments to read your posts, and you have played the game. Fair's fair. Let's just agree to disagree on this one.
I had backed it for Wii U, and happily switched (no pun intended) my pledge to Switch, thinking I could wait for a few months to play it. Then I saw how great the gameplay looked (grew up with Banjo, Crash and Croc here, so those videos hit me right in the childhood), caved, and got a copy for Xbox One - and I'm absolutely adoring it. It's fun, colourful, and it's exactly what a 90's platformer revival should be; I'm about 30 hours in and about to beat the final boss, and I'll happily do it all over again when I get my Switch backer copy. I don't understand how all those negative reviews are based on the fact that "it's straight from the 90's" and "it plays like a N64 game" - those are the things that make it so good for us backers!
@manu0 Will definitely be waiting to find it cheaper, then. Amazon or ShopTo usually go £5-10 below RRP quite soon after release, so I'll keep an eye out for a discount. Still, that's surprisingly pricey - I don't remember the DLC passes for Fates costing so much, and they had a lot of content.
Edit: Last year's DLC packs for Fates were £23/$26 in total for 18 maps; how can the 22 maps and dungeons for Echoes cost almost double that? I'm usually all for DLC in these games, but this price seems a bit of an exaggeration...
I got the season pass for Fates last year, and really enjoyed the extra content; I'll definitely be picking this up, but I might have to wait for a discount/bargain price if the UK pricing is not a little more reasonable than the US one.
I owned the game on Wii U, and while I liked it, I never spent too much time playing it; the game was awesome, but I'm just more of a handheld gamer since I rarely have the time to just sit in front of the TV and play for an extended period of time. So I double-dipped, and I'm SO happy I did - the new battle mode is fantastic, and nothing beats playing a quick race on the bus or with a bunch of my coworkers during our lunch break.
I know many Wii U owners don't like the idea of Nintendo re-releasing the game on Switch, but I think it was an incredibly smart move considering how small the install base was; the Wii U had a fantastic game library (second only to 3DS, imo), and I couldn't blame the company if they decided to re-release Smash, DKC: Tropical Freeze, Captain Toad, etc. in the next year or so. It wouldn't hurt anyone, would easily pad the release schedule out a bit, and would allow more people to come across some great games - at least, that's how I see it. ^_^
I might actually consider getting this if the price is decent here in the UK. I was already looking to buy another New 3DS XL, since mine has been used (and perhaps handled a little bit carelessly, whoops) so much that the hinge has gotten dreadfully loose and the shell is chipped in several places. Can't remember the last time I actually used 3D on it, so this might be a fantastic budget option.
I'll definitely be buying this, since I only ever played this on a friend's PS4 (and really enjoyed it). Though I might try to wait for a sale/preowned physical copy since I already have a backlog on my Switch, and this looks like something that would keep me occupied for a long time. (Who am I kidding, I'll probably buy this day one. My poor wallet!)
I haven't been using my 3DS much since getting a Switch, but between this, Ever Oasis and Fire Emblem: Echoes, it seems it'll be getting some well-deserved love very soon. So many games, so little time!
I'll probably wait for reviews before I buy, but so far I really like what I see - it reminds me a lot of Fantasy Life, which I absolutely adored and sank over 200 hours into.
I ended up importing a physical copy from Amazon Japan, and it's absolutely awesome! I had never played a Disgaea game before, but I'm absolutely loving this - I'm splitting my gaming time between this and BotW, these two games alone have made it worth getting a Switch on day one!
I highly doubt they'll announce anything new, but it'll be nice to know more about ARMS and Splatoon. They'll probably also show something on FE: Echoes, Ever Oasis and Pikmin, since they are the only 3DS titles which should come out in the near future, and maybe (just maybe) give some details on VC for Switch, or set a couple release dates for the generic "coming in 2017" indies we saw in the showcase a while ago. In any case, a Direct is never bad news - the more info and games Nintendo throws out there, the better.
I was already unsure whether to pick it up on release day or wait for a sale, but now I think I'm going to pass and put the £40 the game costs here in the UK towards importing a copy of Disgaea 5 Complete from Amazon Japan. That should fill the void once I finish BotW, and last a long while, too.
I had originally backed for the Wii U version, and was only too happy to move my pledge to Switch, since it's probably going to become my primary console (that and my 3DS are taking most of my gaming time, my Xbox One hasn't even been looked at in months and may be sold soon), but all this useless PR talk is starting to get on my nerves. I understand that development started later, and that of course it will take longer to get the Switch version, but I doubt anyone would complain if they said "Hopefully it'll release sometime this spring/summer/autumn/winter"; if they at least gave backers an idea rather than that non-committal "soon", I'm sure people would be much happier (at least, I know I would).
I'm going to try and keep my expectations in check after the meh announcements from the last couple of years, but there's a teeny tiny part of me that's hoping we'll get to see a new Animal Crossing, Donkey Kong, Pokemon or Luigi's mansion (or Rune Factory 5, but alas, that's wishful thinking with Neverland dead and buried), along with GBA/GC VC and more details on Super Mario Odissey and Fire Emblem 2018. I know it's unlikely, but it would be awesome if even just one or two things from my list got announced.
Awesome, can't wait to play it - I discovered FE only last summer, and since then I have logged an embarrassing amount of hours in Awakening and Fates. Plus, it's coming out on the day of my very last university exam, so it will be a lovely way to unwind after all the stress.
I already have Mario Kart preordered, but I'm seriously tempted to get Lego City as a late birthday present, too...it'll depend on how well it reviews, I guess (I'm particularly interested in those loading times, I heard they were absolutely awful on Wii U).

Re: Japanese TV Show Oha Suta To Share "Shocking" Pokémon News On 31st May
I highly doubt they’d do a reveal of the new game on an early morning show aimed at primary school kids, tbh.
Re: Guide: Nintendo E3 2018 Press Conference Schedule, Rumours, Hopes, And Dreams
Though there’s still a chance E3 will be Smash, Mario Tennis, and a port of Amiibo festival... ;P
Re: Rumour: Pokémon Switch News Could Be Coming In The Next Few Weeks
Re: Video: The Inevitable Nintendo Switch E3 2018 Predictions Video
It’s probably wishful thinking, but I’d love to see:
1) Animal Crossing Switch (New Leaf was released 5 years ago, and we have never had a gap longer than 4-5 years between games since the first one was released)
2) Fire Emblem (since it was slated for a 2018 release a few weeks back)
3) a Zelda HD collection with Wind Waker, Twilight Princess and Skywards Sword (probably never going to happen, but I can dream)
4) Pokemon Switch (probably a given, as they need Pokemon if they intend to ship so many consoles this year)
Re: Deals: Grab Octopath Traveler And These Exclusive Collectable Cards At Nintendo's Official UK Store
I’m really excited for this game, and the Compendium Edition looked so good, I couldn’t resist, so I preordered it from the Nintendo UK store last night for £79. Can’t believe it’s £95 on Amazon, though, it usually has lower prices than the official store! O.o
Re: Masahiro Sakurai Confirms He's Working On Super Smash Bros. Switch
Re: Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker Makes The Leap To Switch And 3DS
Re: Surprise! There's A New Nintendo Direct Coming, And It's Due Tomorrow
I am trying (and miserably failing) not to get too hyped for this.
My prediction is:
Mario Tennis Aces release date/new trailer
Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition release date (yay!)
A few indie announcements/release dates
One big first-party game announcement/release date for April
A few 3DS tidbits scattered around (i.e. Detective Pikachu)
First look at the new Fire Emblem for Switch - after all, don’t FE games have a tendency to come out in late May, at least in recent years?
Maybe a couple surprises to tide us over until E3, if we’re lucky
...and of course new Animal Crossing, Luigi’s Mansion and Pokemon games, plus Metroid Prime 4 available right after the Direct!
EDIT: messy spacing...
Re: Nintendo Direct Mini Is Happening Right Now
Wow, wasn't expecting them to drop a Direct on us so quickly!
Re: GameStop Tweets About Nintendo Direct, Then Quickly Deletes The Tweet
Re: SteamWorld Heist: Ultimate Edition Storms onto Nintendo Switch This Year
Great news! I have played this on 3DS thrice already, and LOVED it - I’m double-dipping for sure!
Re: Yooka-Laylee's Nintendo Switch eShop Price Is Revealed
I have to admit, if I had not backed this on Kickstarter, I would not buy it until it got a price drop. £35 is a tad too expensive for an indie, especially since it’s available for half the price on other consoles already.
Re: Review: Fire Emblem Warriors (Switch)
Great to see this getting such a good review! I loved Hyrule Warriors (my first Musou game) and I will definitely pick this up eventually, but at the moment I have more than enough to play with the new Story of Seasons and Layton games on 3DS and Rayman Legends on Switch - not to mention Odyssey next week, pretty sure that's going to sap ALL of my gaming time for a long while. So this may easily be a Christmas/New Year purchase for me.
Re: SteamWorld Dig 2 Arrives on 21st September, Image & Form Confirms Pricing
I can't wait to play it! Might have to live off tap water and pot noodle all of next month, though - I'm already getting MH Stories, Metroid and Rayman Legends, and now this, too, since it's definitely a day-one pirchase for me.
Re: Fire Emblem Warriors Gets A Limited Edition Release in Europe
Looks a little meh as far as limited editions go - I'm going to give it a pass. And as much as I love FE and the Warriors series, I think I'll wait a while before getting the game at all - I'll have Mario + Rabbids, MH Stories, Metroid: Samus Returns and Rayman Legends to work my way through in September and October, and once Odyssey comes out...well, I have a feeling I won't play anything else for a good long while.
Re: Rayman Legends: Definitive Edition Set for 12th September, Demo Live in Europe
It doesn't look like the demo is available on the UK eShop...hopefully it will be later today.
Re: Europe Is Getting The Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Champions amiibo Four-Pack
I kind of really want them, being the massive Zelda fan I am...but I have far too many amiibo already!
Re: Feature: The Biggest Nintendo Switch Retail Games of 2017 - Summer Edition
For me it's Splatoon 2, Mario + Rabbids and Super Mario Odyssey, although I'll also pick up Skyrim and Fire Emblem Warriors, and maybe Rayman Legends and Pokken, too (if my poor wallet can afford it). There's just too many good games coming out on Switch in the next few months, how is one supposed to choose?!
Re: Extra Nintendo Switch Stock Drives Game Sales in UK, as Ever Oasis Struggles on Debut
Re: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Looks Set for Late November Release
I'm definitely going to get this, but might wait for Christmas or the new year - between Mario Odyssey and the new Ni No Kuni, all my gaming time for November and December is booked solid already. 😜
Re: First Impressions: Slicing Our Way Through Fire Emblem Warriors
I enjoyed Hyrule Warriors, and I'm a huge Fire Emblem fan, so I'll definitely pick this up - though I might wait for Christmas, since there are so many great games coming in the next few months.
Re: Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle Unveiled by Ubisoft at E3 2017
I have to admit, that looks...surprisingly good. I might give it a try later in the year (if it reviews well). Kudos to Ubisoft for making what looks like a fun, polished game!
Re: New Trailer for Skyrim on Switch Showcases Motion Controls and Link amiibo Support
I played the hell out of this about five years ago on my PS3, and I'm seriously thinking of double-dipping - it looks like a really well-made port, I love the extra Nintendo touches!
EDIT: Corrected two spelling mistakes (that pesky phone keyboard...)
Re: Level-5 Is Working On At Least One Nintendo Switch Game
Anything related to Professor Layton, Ni No Kuni or Fantasy Life would be awesome!
Re: New Splatoon 2 Switch Accessories And Hardware Bundle Announced
I already have a pro controller, but those Joy-Con...I might cave, the look so much better than my grey ones!
Re: First Impressions: Exploring a New Land in Ever Oasis on 3DS
They had me at the comparison to Fantasy Life - I loved that game so much, it's right up there with Breath of the Wild for me. Will be getting this day one; hopefully between this and FE: Echoes, my neglected 3DS will get some well-deserved love.
Re: Playtonic Writer Reflects on Yooka-Laylee’s Performance
Re: Playtonic Writer Reflects on Yooka-Laylee’s Performance
Re: Nintendo Outlines Pricing and Details for DLC in Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia
Re: Nintendo Outlines Pricing and Details for DLC in Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia
I got the season pass for Fates last year, and really enjoyed the extra content; I'll definitely be picking this up, but I might have to wait for a discount/bargain price if the UK pricing is not a little more reasonable than the US one.
Re: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Breaks Series Records With US Launch Sales
Re: New Nintendo 2DS XL Announced, Releases 28th July
I might actually consider getting this if the price is decent here in the UK. I was already looking to buy another New 3DS XL, since mine has been used (and perhaps handled a little bit carelessly, whoops) so much that the hinge has gotten dreadfully loose and the shell is chipped in several places. Can't remember the last time I actually used 3D on it, so this might be a fantastic budget option.
Re: Video: Developers Show Gameplay Footage of Minecraft: Switch Edition
I'll definitely be buying this, since I only ever played this on a friend's PS4 (and really enjoyed it). Though I might try to wait for a sale/preowned physical copy since I already have a backlog on my Switch, and this looks like something that would keep me occupied for a long time. (Who am I kidding, I'll probably buy this day one. My poor wallet!)
Re: Monster Hunter Stories is Coming to the West
I haven't been using my 3DS much since getting a Switch, but between this, Ever Oasis and Fire Emblem: Echoes, it seems it'll be getting some well-deserved love very soon. So many games, so little time!
Re: Ever Oasis Journeys to 3DS Owners on 23rd June
I'll probably wait for reviews before I buy, but so far I really like what I see - it reminds me a lot of Fantasy Life, which I absolutely adored and sank over 200 hours into.
Re: Video: Get a Good Look at the Awesome Cast of Disgaea 5 Complete
I ended up importing a physical copy from Amazon Japan, and it's absolutely awesome! I had never played a Disgaea game before, but I'm absolutely loving this - I'm splitting my gaming time between this and BotW, these two games alone have made it worth getting a Switch on day one!
Re: Nintendo Direct Confirmed For 12th April - Focused on Splatoon 2, ARMS and More
I highly doubt they'll announce anything new, but it'll be nice to know more about ARMS and Splatoon.
Re: Lego City Undercover Still Has Ridiculous Load Times on Switch
I was already unsure whether to pick it up on release day or wait for a sale, but now I think I'm going to pass and put the £40 the game costs here in the UK towards importing a copy of Disgaea 5 Complete from Amazon Japan. That should fill the void once I finish BotW, and last a long while, too.
Re: Playtonic on the Development Progress of Yooka-Laylee on Switch
Re: Reggie Fils-Aimé Promises "A Big E3" For Nintendo This Year
I'm going to try and keep my expectations in check after the meh announcements from the last couple of years, but there's a teeny tiny part of me that's hoping we'll get to see a new Animal Crossing, Donkey Kong, Pokemon or Luigi's mansion (or Rune Factory 5, but alas, that's wishful thinking with Neverland dead and buried), along with GBA/GC VC and more details on Super Mario Odissey and Fire Emblem 2018. I know it's unlikely, but it would be awesome if even just one or two things from my list got announced.
Re: Video: Nintendo's Fire Emblem Echoes Overview Shows How It Shakes Up the Formula
Awesome, can't wait to play it - I discovered FE only last summer, and since then I have logged an embarrassing amount of hours in Awakening and Fates. Plus, it's coming out on the day of my very last university exam, so it will be a lovely way to unwind after all the stress.
Re: Deals: Nintendo Switch Upcoming Goodies For March And April
I already have Mario Kart preordered, but I'm seriously tempted to get Lego City as a late birthday present, too...it'll depend on how well it reviews, I guess (I'm particularly interested in those loading times, I heard they were absolutely awful on Wii U).
