Re: Video: Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Calamity Trailer Shows Breath Of The Wild's Hestu In Action

I cannot, CANNOT, understate how excited I am for this game. Not only that, but I also cannot understate how excited I am for what this game represents for the franchise. Between Cadence and HW, Nintendo are clearly getting more experimental with how games in the franchise get made, while maturing in their commitment to storytelling as shown by the existence of a prequel and sequel to BotW. It's an extraordinary time to be a Zelda fan, and the future looks bright 😁

Re: Nintendo Lawyers Hit Fan-Made Zelda Game With Fatal Copyright Claim

Jacob1092

@ALinkttPresent I don't mean to sound confrontational here, but to answer your question because the law is stupid. Technically, I can't draw a picture of Mario and put it on Twitter. I don't hold the copyright or publishing rights to depictions of that character. If I do and am not hit with a takedown order, it's only because Nintendo has decided it's not worth the effort. Or they haven't even noticed it, again, because it's not worth the effort to look.

So long as they're not for profit, I think most people's objections to this boil down to not seeing a great load of difference between what I'm sure you would agree is my harmless drawing of Mario and the fan mod that has been the subject of this action.

Re: Community: What Do You Think Of Lego Super Mario, Then?

Jacob1092

As a pretty big Lego fan, nah. One thing I love about minifigures is that they all have this kind of congruent design. You can put Bart Simpson next to Princess Bubblegum and Spiderman, and they all look great together. Emmet, Starlord and Owen Grady can get coffee, or Star Wars characters can hang out with the Pirates of the Carribbean as they all help Steve mine for diamonds. This is just too much of a departure from that for me.

If we get Zelda Lego though, with proper minifigures... I used to chop up, sand and paint Lego parts just to make Nintendo characters, Zelda ones especially. S'not looking so impossible now 😁

Re: Guide: How To Fix A Drifting Nintendo Switch Pro Controller

Jacob1092

I don't think Pro Controller drift is a widespread issue. Any analogue stick on any controller can succumb over time.

Given my reasonably sizable collection of old consoles, it's payed dividends to learn to properly look after and maintain things; disassembly, cleaning, all that jazz. I'd recommend it to anyone, and once you've done it a few times its not so scary. I think my first one was cleaning out a sticky button on a Gameboy Micro, and then I put some custom buttons in a Wii Controller for the fun of it. It does become a hobby in itself
