Mojang has just released Jurassic World DLC for its popular survival crafting game Minecraft. You can purchase it now.
Your job as a park manager is to keep a resort operating while crafting and training dinosaurs, building exhibits, and going on expeditions to discover dinosaur DNA. There are vehicles to drive and disasters to solve - allowing you to "earn a high score".
It's all about seeing "how long you can keep the Park open". All up, there are 21 skins and more than 60 dinosaurs (including hybrids) to discover. Alongside this DLC, Mojang is releasing a free Character Creator item: the rare Blue Hoodie. Take a look:
Do you still play Minecraft on a regular basis? Is this the DLC you've always wanted? Tell us down below.

I loooove the movies. But I don’t think there’s anything Mojang could do to make me actually enjoy this game. I only play it when family or friends want to play it multiplayer. I just don’t see the hype
Life finds a way.
Oh cool, it's actually licensed and all. Might get it. One day.
I'd be neat if they got Jurassic world evolution on switch. I love that game
So they ported Minecraft from cave walls to PCs, then consoles. Huh. Didn’t know that!
Wait, is this a paid DLC for Minecraft???
Hopefully they’ve fixed it so the skin packs work again.
Just revisited the Jurassic Park movies on Netflix. They put the Jurassic World movies to shame. Hoping Jurassic World: Dominion will be good, though.
@Franz
The World movies can't hold a candle to Jeff Goldblum's classic banter from the first two, not to mention the majestic music in full force.
All these fun skins make me want to try Minecraft! Still never played it.
I'm so confused. So can you get dinosaurs spawning in Minecraft now or is this just it's own separate thing within Minecraft that doesn't interact with the base game much at all? If it's separate then I'm not really interested 😕
This is confusing... It's stated that it's a DLC, but then they're talking about a park campaign... So is this like a Dungeons type stand alone OR does it mean dinosaurs become naturally forming mobs?
@Heavyarms55 it’s technically a paid mod.
@Jacob1092 It is separate and can not be put on to any world, only the mash up they give you. And in all honesty, the “dinosaurs” are just regular mobs with different models. It’s still pretty cool though.
Will the WiiU get this DLC?
@KoRn1619 m/ Great username, m/
@darkswabber Wow.
@Heavyarms55 all DLC is. Just with Minecoins, which you pay for with your store's digital currency
@Liam_Doolan Just noticed it references Minecraft Dungeons under the game profile section in the top right - presumably it should be just Minecraft?
Just a heads up for everyone, I bought this earlier this morning and it’s practically unplayable. The park is on such a scale and there are so many things happening that the switch doesn’t seem able to load it all. Taking the monorail at the start, I was faced with huge blue areas that had not loaded and random pop in. For most of it, I was just watching unloaded areas roll by. Things seemed better when I was walking around, but as soon as I was tasked with taking the helicopter to different areas I was met with blue areas with the odd dinosaur popping in. When it does work, you’re only able to see a little way ahead of you at most, I’ve never seen anything like it before and I’m pretty angry that it’s gone on sale in this state. It’s a shame, because it seems like it’d be a great game and a lot of love has clearly gone into the design of it all.
Can you play this dlc with friends?
Finally something in game that is interesting that will make me play it
@Kasma88
Hey. Thanks for the heads-up. I was excited for this pack, but things quickly got worse, beyond the issues with this downloadable content:
There's actually this (apparently new) soft-locking issue with Minecraft where it freezes the entire Switch, and the only way to get the console to un-freeze itself is a force restart. It's crazy, I don't think this has happened with any other game I know of. Guess Minecraft is a unique case. It's already happened to me once.
I am constantly furious with how broken this game is on Switch. It needs serious optimization and bug-fixing before it's a good, reliable version to play. Even parts of the Mario Pack content was and probably still is broken. If it's in the Switch version, it likely is, from my experience.

@KoRn1619
No, the Wii U port is a legacy console version and doesn't have the Marketplace.
@PiggyDan16 That's insane, I had no idea it had those kind of issues! I've only dipped into Minecraft on switch to play some of the survival mode with my wife before we moved onto other games. The Jurassic World DLC appealed as I'm big on the original films and I assumed incorrectly that a game as popular as Minecraft on a huge system like the Switch would actually work. What I find even more astounding, though, is the lack of noise coming from the community about this!
Hi. How do you purchase this ? I cannot seem to see this in the Europe store ?
@Punisher67 You get it from the online marketplace directly from the game.
@Kasma88
Absolutely. I'm a fan too, and for both the game and this new pack, I expected much higher quality, but I've gotten tons of glitches and poor optimisation for many months now with the Switch version.
Keep an eye on https://twitter.com/MojangSupport
Let's mention the Jurassic World content bugs there too, addressed to whatever team there that's responsible for it, so we can all enjoy it ASAP after some updates!
Long story short: We don't recommend purchasing this pack at this very moment. It's very broken. You're better off waiting longer for updates
