As teased in last week's Pokémon Presents livestream, a second showcase is set to air tomorrow, 24th June. Just like last time, it'll be roughly 11 minutes long.
At the end of last week's show, The Pokémon Company president Tsunekazu Ishihara teased a 'big project' that's going to be unveiled in a second presentation. That stream is now up and ready to be viewed on YouTube (you can stare at it above, if you feel like waiting), and we're less than 24 hours away from seeing just what Pokémon has in store for us.
You may have noticed that Pokémon fans have already started to speculate on what the announcement could be, with many believing it could well be a new Let's Go style game set in the Johto region.
Make sure to check back with us tomorrow at 2pm BST/ 3pm CEST / 6am PDT / 9am EDT to watch the show live, and let us know what you expect to see with a comment below.

Pokemon Sleep launch date reveal.
The "big project" is probably going to be another phone game. I'm hoping they announce when Pokemon Go will be made compatible with Pokemon Home.
Come on action RPG
Pokemon let's go Eevee and let's go Pikachu Remake
My fingers are crossed for Let's Go Johto. Anything else and I can't say I'm crazy fussed.
Is that a new Star Fox game?
Pokemon Snap 3
New core Pokemon game.
I'm thinking either a PokeMMO or a Gen 4 remake.
Reasons:
PokeMMO: makes sense with the wild area, how you can see other players moving around, daily stuff going on and in Isle of Armor where you can see your lead pokemon too. Has a very MMO feel to it. I do however think this is very unlikely to happen.
Gen 4 remakes: gen 2 was remade in gen 4, gen 3 in gen 6 now it's gen 4's turn. However just to add to that, the fact that you can toggle pokemon following you on or off through talking to a pokekid suggests some sort of survey? Maybe to see how likely people are to want their pokemon behind them. Could suggest gen 4 remakes with maybe pokemon following as a feature from HGSS? Or HGSS remakes (but not in the lets go johto style). Also Pokemon Pt did have a mechanic were pokemon followed you in a specific area (that park in Hearthome city). And finally Sinnoh underground seems like a perfect place to do the whole multiplayer, see each other thing the wild area started right? Just add some pokemon down there instead of just traps and walls to dig in.
Lets go gen 2: I don't think so. There aren't really 2 mascots for gen 2. Marill and who? Elekid and Magby kinda makes sense but just because there's two of them and they're like "rivals" I guess. Maybe Marill and Togepi? But would they really stick you with a baby pokemon for an entire game? But also Lets go gen 1 made sense. Pokemon Go was released with just the original 151 pokemon at launch, it was a remake of pokemon yellow specifically, and it was to help bring even more popularity to pokemon go. Making lets go gen 2 just doesn't make as much sense.
Personally I'm really hoping for DPPt remakes.
Bigger probabilities is Pokken 2 or a action-rpg like BL.
Would love another Let's Go. Those games are amazing.
Considering it's "big" - I am guessing they are going to do something with Dynamaxing or Mega Evolution, you know, "big" things. So guys, bump the brakes on the hype train hard.
Full Pokédex confirmed for the last SwSh update.
A man can dream.
I wish we had a proper standard direct instead of these mini Smash and Pokemon announcements :/
1. Pokemon Let's Go Johto
2. Pokken 2
3. Pokemon Builder
4. Pokemon Crossing
5. Pokemon Dance Dance Revolution
At this point, I don't even know what I could hold out for (outside the remakes of the DS generations no longer on sale, but it's not like the franchise won't get around to do them at its own pace eventually) - last week's new Snap reveal already left me more than I ever bargained for. But hey, maybe an exotic crossover like that Pokemon Conquest way back when? Pokemon Warriors, you read it here first.😆
If it's Gen 4 remake but as miserably basic as SwSh then i'll be sad
i am convinced it will be the Switch sequel of the Detective Pikachu 3DS game
Betting that it's just gonna be some returning charecters in the sword and shield dlc and absolutely nothing else
If its not either lets go johto or diamond/pearl remakes I'm going to be extremely disappointed.
Scorcbunny confirmed for Smash
I'm really hoping it's Gen 4 remakes.
New curries for Sword/Shield
Pokemon Smile WhoCares edition
Pokemon characters and tracks as DLC for Mario Kart 8.....you heard it here first!
Pokémon Warriors
@TheDragonDAFan @TheDragonDAFan Didn't Nintendo say they were cutting back on mobile games?
@NoxAeturnus I don't think Pokemon Sleep is a big project
I really really hope it's no new main game from GF. They are already releasing DLCs this year, we don't need another game this year, I'd rather have a good one next year.
That being said, I'm sure it will be Let's Go Johto, worst thing that could happen would be Let's Go Sinnoh, I want proper remakes of these games (NEXT year at the earliest)
@okimoki You found the joke.
Im really curious about this one.
As much as I’m not expecting it, I would kill for another entry in the Pokémon Ranger spin offs
I don't have high hopes, honestly, so I just want them to show a little bit of Detective Pikachu 2, as we haven't seen it yet, and it was announced ages ago.
I know it won’t happen, but I wish there would be a new Pokémon Colosseum game.
@stephentemesy God I loved these games, was really sad that there wasn't one on the 3ds. Sadly I don't see how a Ranger game would work on the Switch (in docked mode). I mean they could use the IR of the right joy-con to catch them but that would be annoying
The devs wanted to try something different this time. The game is called Pokeman and you play as pokemon that catch humans. Unfortunately, humans only have two attacks, punch and kick and so the combat is kind of boring but you can yell, so I guess that's a plus. Also, you have to feed and water your humans. The real fun of the game is... dressing your humans up! I know you're excited, so let me explain. You have to buy new clothes at the mall to outfit your humans and you have all sorts of colors and sizes incase you feed your human too much and they get fat. After you outfit your humans how you like, then it's Pokémon Fashion Battle time! O.M.G. this is the best part of the game! You make your humans walk down the uhh lane thingy, whatever it's called and you get scored on different things like hairstyle, make-up, not tripping (no drugs allowed in E for Everyone game), poses and outfit umm togetherness. The winner gets a lot of EXP, money and their human's feel goodness is uhh increased? Anyway, there's multi-player PVP battles also and you can slap each other but only in PVP.
An update to their current games to fix the bugs would be pretty major at this stage
Maybe Detective Pikachu related-either the game or the movie, though the latter would be coming out at a poor time. Perhaps something related to the Pokemon Adventures series? I feel like it'll be a multimedia project of some sort.
The question is: what kind of game would be so interesting that it needs its own seperate reveal? If we think logically, it has to be because it otherwise would steal the attention from the other reveals last week. Really doubt though that it would be a mainline game since it could harm the sale of the expansion packs if they reveal it too soon, even if it's a remake
@NoxAeturnus Yes, I’ve been waiting for that since the reveal! I don’t think that will be the highlight (unless it’s actually as good as GO, which I kind of doubt) but it will be a side reveal.
I'm personally hoping for more DLC next year, put in the remaining pokemon, add more content to SwSh (If it's in the same style as Isle of armour, it will be great), and give them more time to make the next full game (Whether Gen4 remake or Gen 9) really good.
@Andrew5678 It’s definitely NOT a DP2 movie. Game? Yes. Movie? No. This is basically a Nintendo Direct for Pokémon and that would be like Nintendo revealing info about a Mario movie in a Direct, which makes no sense.
Pokemon Stadium remake is what I think would be pretty neat, but I think it is probably something smaller. Maybe the Pokemon Let's Go Johto people have been talking about, or perhaps something even smaller than that.
I think the Lets Go! Johto remakes make sense. That means you have SwSh DLC in Nov for the “hardcore” fans plus the new remakes for “everyone”. Im sure Nintendo would be happy with that during the holidays.
Now for what I hope it could be:
An announcement that past Pokémon games (gameboy/DS/3DS) are being released on the eShop with Home compatibility
Or
Detective Pikachu Switch (new game, not port) releasing this year.
@okimoki Did they say that? No. Bloomberg did. Nintendo said they still had some but weren’t revealing anything yet here. Plus, Pokémon isn’t Nintendo, Nintendo just publishes the console games.
Really want a new TCG RPG like the GBC games. But that will never happen.
I’d LOVE a Pokémon RPG with Pokken battle style. You know, where the move bite or slash or (gasp) double kick actually touches the opponent...
And of course the option to catch. That uses the authentic pokéball sounds... ugh.
@mariomaster96 that’s the thing, I don’t know how it would work. Maybe they could change up the catch method to make it more suitable for the switch? Idk but I’m keeping my fingers crossed
@BabyYoshi12 The movie was a long shot, but I'm not sure of a game would warrant its own presentation, and the Presents title gives me the feeling it's something else. I'm thinking along those lines because it's a 'Presents' instead of 'Direct'. Pokemon Directs focus solely on Nintendo console titles, and this new Presents video showed off several phone games, which is why I think it's not a Switch title-or at last not JUST a Switch title.
Granted, this is just a theory, but we've only gotten Directs on Pokemon, so I'm not sure about the name change.
Probably let’s go johto
We won’t get sinnoh remakes before the second dlc is out
I don't think a proper Remake from a standard game makes sense right now and this "big project" is not necessarily a game. The biggest thing I can think that seems "doable" right now is a bundle o products linked in, like another live action movie with it's own game
But for real I think it's gonna be a Let's go gen2 or a spin-off (detective Pikachu Remake/remaster, Stadium/Coliseum, etc). If they didn't have announced Snap yet I should put my coins on it.
I hope it’s not Johto. It’s been overdone plus I want Sinnoh for Christ sakes
To be honest, any of the following would make me happy;
Pokemon Let's Go Johto.
Pokemon D&P remakes.
Pokemon Stadium 3
A new Pokemon RPG in the style of Coliseum/Gale of Darkness.
A Pokemon MMO Project.
They can't really disappoint me unless they announce something underwhelming like a new mobile title or something.
Since it is only 11 minutes long and had to be delayed to a later date, I can not imagine been that big of an announcement. The biggest thing I could think of would a sequel to Pokémon Let's Go or Stadium.
@Andrew5678 Yes, your theory makes sense. Still, a movie doesn’t seem likely, so it brings us back to Pokémon Sleep. A mobile game that could be as good as Pokémon GO.
@Andrew5678 I agree, it might not be a Switch game since Nintendo did not retweet the announcement for watching tomorrow...
I'm pretty sure it's just going to be footage of the next Detective Pikachu game that was already announced, considering nothing of it has been revealed yet.
They aren’t gonna step on the expansion passes toes by announcing main series remakes before the Crown Tundra releases. Closest to an RPG this will likely be is a Lets Go Johto, or much less likely, a spiritual continuation of those Colleseum style games.
Hopefully it’s Diamond and Pearl remake, and not anymore of that Let’s Go bulls—t. Hell, I’ll even take another Sword/Shield expansion pass over another Let’s Go.
I really don't want Diamond & Pearl remakes, nor do I think they need remakes, but I'm not sure what else it could be. Let's Go Johto maybe, but Gen 2 doesn't really have 2 Pokemon with Pikachu & Eevee levels of notoriety. Even if, I honestly think would make a better DLC for Let's Go Pikachu & Eevee, let the players see what Johto was like before the 3 year time skip, especially since Let's Go were so barren of content. (Still peeved over no Sevii Islands.)
I am still curious if the Wild Area and the dlcs end up being a kind of test for an actual open world Pokemon game.
Not sure if open world really is a good idea for Pokemon at all, I think this might sound far better than it actually is.
All that being said, I don't expect to get an answer in this presentation. That would be too big of an announcement for this, I think.
Pokepark 3. It's been like 10 years since 2.
My money is on it being the new mobile game that Tencent has been working on
Either hoping for a Pokken 2 (with Urshifu included as a playable poke) or some kind of action rpg spin-off that Iets you play as the Pokemon
Pokemon:Breath of the Wild
Not expecting much unfortunately... the more successful game companies get, the less effort they tend to put into their work. Not saying it’ll be bad, but I’m certain it won’t be anything we’re dreaming of.
What if they do a surprise drop of the Gen I-III games, VC style, with Pokémon Home compatibility.
I'm prepared to be disappointed though.
@RPGamer Pokepark 3 might have not gotten a much better reception than United, but maybe a little.
@RPGamer Didnt' even think of an HD remaster since they were both on Wii in SD, good call. I'm sure that would sell, as big as Pokemon is now, with all these #pandemickids getting Switch Lites. I wouldn't replay them again, once was enough for me, but they'd be great for my young niece and nephew who just got a Switch. Easy money.
I still want 3 though.
