We're only a month-or-so away from getting our hands on Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition and reliving every wonderful moment from the Wii original. It seems like Nintendo wants to get us in the mood, too, offering up a quick tease at the new release's soundtrack.
Nintendo's shared a 30-second tease of a remastered version of the Colony 9 theme. We appreciate that Twitter doesn't exactly offer the best audio quality available, but we daresay any fans of the original game will still get rushes of nostalgia hearing this updated track.
Earlier this month, a selection of new screenshots were revealed which also show off the new remaster's glorious environments. Make sure to give them a look if you haven't already.
Excited to head back to Bionis next month? Remember, Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition launches on Switch on 29th May.

Was briefly afraid when i saw the thumbnail that the game was delayed
Always feel shivers and sense of freedom when I hear this music.
Sounds excellent. Can’t wait to listen to the original soundtrack and this side by side to compare them!!
YES!
...more please
Xenoblade has one of the most amazing soundtracks. Period.
This song, and how well done the first 30 seconds were, only makes me want to know how songs like Mechanical Rhythm, Mechonis Field, Tephra Cave, Satorl Marsh, and Eryth Sea would be done!
Greatest soundtrack ever made.
@Incarna You'd buy it twice just to play a remake of a wii game on release day? Also ShopTo are good for early delivery usually.
Xenoblade Chronicles has one of the best video game soundtracks ever created, in my opinion. I'm reserving judgment on the final "definitive edition" soundtrack, but so far, it doesn't really sound better or worse to me, just different.
I’ve been listening to the OG soundtrack a lot on YouTube recently as I’m so excited, even this morning.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I am going to need to double dip on the sound track too, aren't I?
Also seriously? That was great but like tiny. Couldn't they have given us a full minute?
@Heavyarms55 I know, it didn't even get to the best part! Mind you...that's typical Nintendo lol.
this, gaur plains and gusty garden galaxy.
the power trio of nintendos music.
all of them on wii.
I just want the full remastered version of Engage the Enemy.
The OST from the Wii version had been my quarintine music. I am stoked for some Defenitive Edition.
I wanted the European collectors edition so badly that I'm actually trying one of those parcel forwarding companies. I hope it goes well and I eventually get it.
Darn it, the track cut off just as it was starting to get really good! XD I haven't played the original release, but I listen to extended versions of the soundtrack on YT while working.
@Tyranexx same for me!
Oh. I was resisting buying this excellent game a second time. Now, looks like I might pick it up at some point.
Sounds awesome!! My most anticipated game of the year!!!!....well so far...
Ooo, I did not know they were re-recording the soundtrack for this version. It sounds amazing though! Can a triple dip though? It’s getting more and more tempting...
@JoeDiddley It's normally easier for me to work along with video game music vs. music with lyrics depending on what I'm doing. Extended tracks ensure I don't have to mess with playlist order too often. Do you have any favorite tunes? I'm fond of Mechonis Field, Mechanical Rhythm, the main Xenoblade theme, and Forest of the Nopon to name a few.
@Tyranexx I’ve been listening to soundtrack compilations on YouTube so I don’t know the track names yet. I like the slow ones, fast ones and choral ones is my limited understanding! I need the soundtrack to properly pick out highlights.
I also find it easier to listen to instrumental music at work.
I've got the collector's works edition pre-ordered and I can't freakin wait. One of the best games ever made
@JoeDiddley I've been listening to it on and off for some time, so I'm familiar with many (but not all) of the track names. Usually the ones I've replayed to death. XD
I'll list links to the tracks I mentioned, if interested:

@Tyranexx awesome thanks. I’ll give them a listen (at work) now.
EDIT: gorgeous!
@JoeDiddley No prob! Hope you enjoy them! ^.^
@Tyranexx stunning, I’ll give them another spin as I’m working Saturdays during the crisis
@JoeDiddley Music never hurts when it's used to make the work day go by a bit faster! If you're an essential worker and/or out on the front lines in any way, stay safe mate.
@Tyranexx thanks. I’m a key worker apparently in the U.K. (I was surprised) but I’m safe working at home. My company provide HR and Finance services to Government departments. So we’re there to ensure that some of those on the front line are still getting paid. Same to you!
@JoeDiddley Thanks! I'm a software developer in the Midwestern US and have been working from home for over a month. Though I'm not an essential worker for day to day operations, I help ensure that some of our software for my parent company as well as the companies that we've sold it to receive the support and bug fixes they need as some of them perform essential services. Less has been coming down the pipe lately, so I've also been working on requested features when I can. Our backlog is massive, so I doubt I'll run out of things to do for awhile lol.
@Tyranexx I hope you’re adjusting ok to working from home. I have been for a couple of years now. And even then it’s different when it’s a choice. You can get a lot done though!
@JoeDiddley Hah, in some ways I'm definitely getting more done! But a negative is that I'm also surrounded by more things that I'd rather be doing. XD Probably the biggest challenge is the lack of face to face communication in some instances. That's very beneficial for me; a lot of nonverbal cues are lost in text communication. We do have a Zoom meeting room, but that's not always the most optimal.
Can't complain about the commute though!
