Not many notable ones that I don't already have. Might grab the The Walking Dead games at 75% off though.
Already grabbed Dead Cells and Tangle Tower in the sale and I am also considering A Hat in Time. They should keep me going until XCOM 2 gets a discount. I refuse to pay £40 for a digital download.
The eShop on Switch was pretty much unsable with over 1,000 titles on sale so i resorted to using the website and buying them that way.
I've too much in the backlog as it is so taking a break from adding to that for now.
Still waiting for a sale on Cadence of Hyrule. Otherwise there's only physical titles in my wishlist at the moment.
I'm going to buy Divinity Original Sin 2 tonight. Spotted it on the US Eshop for $35.
What do people think of Golf Story? I'm thinking of picking it up.
Gunna grab moonlighter
Recommended games at lowest ever eShop price (UK) - or matching previous lowest price:
Slay the Spire
Mark of the Ninja: Remastered
Strikey Sisters
Fell Seal: Arbiter's Mark
Star Wars Pinball
Armello
Lord of the Rings Adventure Card Game
Wargroove
Valfaris
Out Run
Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the duelist link evolution
Cook, Serve, Delicious 2
Vasara Collection
I've had a bunch of discounts bookmarked for this payday already, and not a lot to spend on games this time, but I might finally pull the trigger on a few items this sale brings forth - Cat Quest, Mable and the Wood, maybe Away or Mulaka... time will tell.
Just giving a shout out to Slay the Spire! Bought this full price and was worth every cent, so if anyone out there is into deckbuilding, get this whopper of a game now!
@Inc I liked it! Low-key gameplay and tons of humor and charm. It’s an easy to pick up for short bursts. Can’t wait for Sports Story!
Plenty of games that I'd love to have a crack at but disappointed at the prohibitively expensive price-tag for the Baldur's Gate collection. Even in the sale I'm astounded at the £27.99 price for games I picked up for a fraction of that on other formats several years ago. Looks like it's cheaper to go physical on that one so I'll just pick up a boxed copy when my finances are in a better shape
Does Darksiders Genesis run well on Switch? Thinking about it...
@Chimera_Police Totally agree, I really enjoyed it. Is Sports Story a thing?
EDIT: just Googled it. How have I not heard of that before? Looks brilliant.
Some tempting offers on some really good games but not enough for me to add to my massive backlog, especially since I just bought Xenoblade Chronicles (physical).
@Inc Yeah agree...
@H3X3NH4MM3R I've been playing Moonlighter on my laptop for the past week and I am absolutely hooked on the dungeon/shop loop. Great little game. Lovely soundtrack too.
Wargroove and Banner Saga are highly recommended by me, spent a lot of time with both of those but Wargroove has the most replayability.
@Milton_Burle I know! It’s too bad it hasn’t been ready sooner. Wouldn’t it have been awesome to have that come out when all real sports were shutting down? Hopefully it’s coming soon!
@ViewtifulJotun agree on Wargroove being totally worth it. Kind of perfect as a Switch game
@C0NNERS Thanks...Sorry just on Cook Serve Deliscous it don't support touch screen, great game but...it's a mission with the controls...
I see Grid is on there at about a third off. First time I think it's been discounted. Think I'll pick that up.
@C0NNERS what the lord rings card game like does it have local multiplayer
I've oughta see if I can thin my wishlist a bit before biting into any of these discounts.
Got the excellent What Remains of Edith Finch for 10€!
@tankymctankus I just checked Amazon and Baldur's Gate is currently £24.99 and in stock... So £27.99 isn't exactly a very good deal.
Not much of a sale in terms of sale prices compared to Sony's sales but may have to grab Mario and rabbids for that price
I've picked up Ys VIII for half price, and I'm tempted by the sinking city and sega classics. 50 games for £15 isn't bad.
Any recommendations?
Was going to get Diablo 3
@Anguspuss Online co-op only mi amigo
@Sim1 Touch screen would be amazing but it still works - takes practice to build up the required muscle memory. Wouldn't surprise me if it was an intentional design choice to add to the chaos!
@C0NNERS thx
Salt and Santuary STILL not in the sale. that game never goes on sale!
@Dromosus I've got it on mac but I want it on switch it's so good dude
@Chimera_Police you can find it cheaper physical anyway. some of these 'sale' prices are ridiculous. Just checked and darksiders genesis you can buy physical on base.com for £18.85. I assume you're in the UK?
@Inc I thoroughly enjoyed it very much. It has a great story, easy to pick up and learn controls, fun gameplay. It gets quite challenging towards the end but nothing that can’t be beat. I went for 100% completion and It was worth every hour I put into it.
@PlayedNSlayed you know what game is always on sale? The Bridge, in fact I don’t think i have ever seen it not on sale, lol
Held off from the takeover! Because fight n rage is in the sale finally. Never seen it before on sale and have been waiting. Excellent game feel and a lot of fun! Also got mark of the ninja, what a great price. And Vasara collection, and time spinner. This is a great sale mite dip in for more. X x x
@C0NNERS Its far removed from touch screen, but yeah u probably correct...
@Chimera_Police not sure if you are uk or not but darksiders genesis is available physical from base.com for £18.85 at the moment sorry didn't see someone had already replied with this exact info - my bad.
@Reprise Thank you! It's going for £24.99 in Argos too.. might just bite the bullet at that price
Some great deals here! Was going to buy Divinity OS 2 anyway so appreciated the price drop!
@Moon Diablo 3 works great on Switch, though a bit outdated graphics. If you let yourself sink into it, you can easily reach over 100+ hours in it
@Chris77
Thanks for the heads up! Been waiting for a GRID discount for ages.
Is really AC3 Remastered so bad? Even for this money and after some patches?
@electrolite77 ...But I've been waiting for a GRID physical release for even longer 😝
I love this site but please don't state that it's 'Europe' sales if you're only displaying the UK currency :/.
@gcunit
That is true 😀

Good sale by Nintendo standards, but the highlight - meaning highlighted to stand out not the high point - is once again the lack of 1st party Nintendo games. Zelda BotW, Splatoon 2, Mario Odyssey, ARMS, are 2 and 3 year old games still selling for $60 - $80 w/ DLC - that never go on sale or drop in price.
2nd negative point, comparison pricing - The Witcher 3 sale price is 3x what you pay elsewhere, Lego Ninjago sale price of $16 is nice but it was free, free free, for everyone on STEAM, Xbox and PS4 a week or 2 ago.
So yeah, good sale by Nintendo standards, but fairy lame for anyone who games on multiple consoles.
Lot's of fantastic 3rd party games with decent discounts
@Inc I found it to be quite enjoyable, defo worth a look for that price
Downwell is 89p - would recommend that 100 times for that price!
@Inc golf story is fun. Definitely worth the sale price at the very least. In fairness, I did not finish it, but I do still intend to. Too many games.....
@gio1 I haven't played it on other consoles or pc. For fans of the series it ain't the strongest title storywise. But I as a casual open world games fan enjoy it on the Switch. Not bad at all imho.
@Joriss That's it, spread the word
I'm currently considering getting Wargroove at the moment, though I've never played any Advance Wars or Fire Emblem title. Not really in it for the multiplayer much though. Worth a shot?
@Chris77 I've also been waiting for Grid Autosport to be reduced for a while. First time I think. I'll bite at this price, but might head to the South Africa eshop to save a few £'s more...
Worth noting that the Donkey Kong DLC for Mario + Rabbids is also down to £5.99. Might be time for me to finally grab it
Runbow is under £3, Ōkami under £8, Donut County about £5, and Astro Bears for 85p (which I’d personally highly recommend - panned by NL for lack of content, but I think what actually is there makes for a brilliant party game).
I recommend Horizon Chase Turbo - it's incredible and well worth it for current UK sale price. Don't be put off by the visuals - if you like arcade racers you will love this!
Same old same old.
@PatjeM1980
I know the AC 3 game and gamestyle ,but Im interesting about port quality ,graphics,audio,fps. I heard it was terrible after launch.
Thanks for the comments on Golf Story folks. Picking it up now
What about sales in the US?
@gio1 Since it was not a day 1 buy for me, I haven't experienced the faults of the initial release. But as I just searched, main issues are fixed. And not as top notch ported as like Hellblade or The Witcher 3, it's running nice on the Switch, but it won't be as top notch like the remastered versions on other consoles.
@Inc you will not regret it! I bought it when it came out due to the lack of games on Switch that time and never regret it! I even bought the limited run version on cart just to support them my favorite indie game!
Grabbed bulletstorm. What a steal. Amazingly fun game with quite good graphics
Pretty decent, but I have plenty to play already.c
@Inc I LOVE gold story! for serious. the golf can be boring, but then again it is in RPG format. WORTH it — you might like saturday morning RPG too - first played that on VITA.
@TheLightSpirit If there was a physical I would pay up to £30 for it, I just hate Digital
@Bunkerneath
Why the hate for Digital? I like the convenience of it and that more money goes to the developer.
I used to buy Physical a lot, but I stopped around the time they stopped doing colour instruction manuals. I just didn't see the point anymore.
@Inc The gameplay is good and it has some great moments but the beauty is in the writing. It’s a charming little funny time waster. Nothing like real golf of course so if you’re after a proper top down golf game this isn’t it. You’ll spend more time exploring, talking to people and doing side quests than playing a round. But IMHO it’s one the best Nindies I’ve played on Switch and Sports Story is a day one purchase for me.
Resident Evil 5 is also discounted but didn’t make NL’s list. What’s that about? Is there some NL RE5 disdain that I don’t know about? I thought RE5 was actually quite good compared to 6.
@beazlen1
RESI 5 is good in co-op, the AI controlled character is not the brightest. It's very much an action game.
Same old rubbish
At these prices, I'll take Horizon Chase Turbo and Golf Story. DLing now. Happy Friday everyone, enjoy your weekend. Cheers
@Inc well I really like the look of it, and it isn't a big gamble at that price. It's got good reviews.
Flipping Death is £3.60!!! I'm having that too.
Managed to get a physical of two point hospital for literally the same price on the eshop, Loving the nba 2k20 think I paid less then a quid for it even tho it’s eaten most of my sd card 😆
@PlayedNSlayed @Nye1779 I’m not, but the EMEA sales are often discounted same day and not marketed in the US or end up being discounted in the US shortly after. Thanks for the heads up on retail being cheaper! It looks like it’s 25% off physical here too.
I feel like the eshop recycles the same sales over and over until you finally give in and buy something you passed up on a dozen times before at the exact same sale price.
@sixrings first time I've seen the Walking Dead games for this cheap on sale, so we so see new deals over time.
Funny to see the moaners going about the ‘same old rubbish’ directly underneath posts discussing games that haven’t been on sale before and haven’t been as cheap before 😀
@sixrings
‘The Eshop’ isn’t a thing that chooses what games go on sale. It’s down to the publishers.
There are also 3DS games on sale
https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/nintendo-3ds-2ds-sale-at-nintendo-eshop-3479266
Wii U games on sale too
https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/various-wii-u-titles-reduced-steamworld-dig-darksiders-toki-tori-guacamelee-book-of-unwritten-tales-2-3478494
I started Golf Story last night, I absolutely love it, great little game.
Tempted by quite a few games. Ended up buying Bastion and Transistor. I've enjoyed Bastion before, but not for a long time and I never got round to Transistor. I had a few gold coins so it worked out as a lot of game for £3.
I got Murder By Numbers, Picto Quest, Vasara Collection and Red's Kingdom. There's a tonne of games to look through on the eShop.
@electrolite77 Thanks for pointing out the Wii U and 3DS deals. Nice to know someone remembers those consoles.
@BongoBongo Great game that I love, but man I can't get beyond the 4th or 5th world. Have you ever beaten it?
@H3X3NH4MM3R And? Is it any good?Moonlighter?
Ghostbusters is cheap. That and Vampyr are on my list. Have many of these, not long ago got Lego Ninjago Movie game for free on ps4 as they made it so for a week or so.
@brunojenso no I have got to the final boss fight (5th level) a few times but it’s way too intense!
@gio1 Don’t know about the Switch port, but played the original on PS3 five and half years after it was released, and it was still a technical trainwreck.
Updating my recommended list of games on sale at their lowest eshop prices to include Voez and Deemo. Both are glorious games that will put a smile on your face!
Slay the Spire
Mark of the Ninja: Remastered
Strikey Sisters
Fell Seal: Arbiter's Mark
Star Wars Pinball
Armello
Lord of the Rings Adventure Card Game
Wargroove
Valfaris
Out Run
Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the duelist link evolution
Cook, Serve, Delicious 2
Vasara Collection
Voez
Deemo
Moto Racer 4 is under 5€ now, is there any fun to this game for that price? I like arcade racing games but it seems to have a lot of bad reviews.
The eShop needs a shovelware filter...
Without that, it's impossible to go through even just the discounted games list.
@electrolite77
Thanks for the reminder that 3DS games are also on sale.
But it baffles me why they would put Virtue´s Last Reward on sale dozens of times, and at the same time, its successor, Zero Time Dilemma retains its original price. 40€ is just too much for that game, taken into consideration that it is much cheaper on other platforms. I would like to buy it on my 3DS and I would buy if it was even just discounted a little bit, but nope...
Raiden V is now mine.
Had a great spending spree this week. Got many great stuff too:
South Park Fractured But Whole's Season Pass
Gone Home
What Remains of Edith Finch
Ori and the Blind Forest
Vasara Collection
The Walking Dead 1, 2 and New Frontier
Valkyria Chronicles
Goat Simulator
Glass Masquerade
Kotodama: Seven Mysteries of Fujisawa
I grabbed Flashback, thinking about getting Mark of the Ninja and Fight 'n Rage as well.
@Inc i got it 2 days ago. Its really good.
@electrolite77 Grid is definitely worth it, so much game for your buck. Plays like a dream too. Loads of tracks, loads of different car types, loads of different ways to set up your car. They put a lot of effort in.
Took a plunge on rune factory. Couple of hours in so far. Overwhelming at first but the request post helps keeps a steady learning pace.
Finally picked up The Dragon's Trap after having it on my wish list since before launch. Might get a couple more, but I'm also looking forward to the Steam sale this year.
I paid for Bastion with Gold Coins and splurged something like three quid on Transistor. My wallet will live to fight another day!
I have a gargatuan backlog and the vast majority I really want have already been downloaded or physically bought
However, Walking Dead Seasons 1&2 as well as Moonlighter were downloaded. I somehow missed those in all the download melee over the months!
Dragon's Dogma is one of the best action RPGs off all time.
I’ve bought;
Assassins Creed Collection
Torchlight 2
Turbo Chase
Downwell
Transistor
Okami HD
Raiden V is an excellent buy right now at around $8. Originally $40. One of the best shooters available on the Switch.
I'm really tempted to grab Ys VIII and/or Ni No Kuni, as i'm a RPG guy. What would you guys advise? You think it's worth it??
@H3X3NH4MM3R Moonlighter is amazing
I can’t stop!
Rune Factory is worth every penny! A nice break from Animal Crossing and not quite as intense as Stardew. Having so much fun with it and the writing is just perfect
@WiltonRoots
Had my first go of it last night. Only managed a few races but it’s really good fun and yeah, a really impressive and professional package.
@electrolite77 i’m yet to turn off the ABS and other aids, but it’s great to pick up and have a few quick races, I particularly like the open wheel cars on the street circuits, tearing through the San Francisco track in an Indycar is quite the seat of the pants experience.
Dragon's Lair 1 & 2, and Space Ace (three notoriously troublesome games to emulate) for just under 10 bucks is a bargain.
