@RhiannonRune It's just a guess as no one outside of Nintendo has got hold of one of these yet - but don't see why not? It's just a bit of plastic (or cardboard) and Labo didn't do any checks, and that was just cardboard too.

@Res462 I've put well over 50 hours in at this point, no problems at all.

It's a great game, the patch locking it to 30 fps smoothed over what (to me) was a minor issue.

@The_Nintendo_Expat I get ya, just think using just the US experience isn't a fair comparison as Nintendo would've allocated resource for development and publishing based around when the hardware was out in the wild.

If I were to make the same point but focus purely on how it was here in the UK, ALL of those titles released in the first 9 months. Games were announced way before release then too (mostly, DKR was announced and released within a couple of months if I recall) so we knew Zelda and BK were coming the following year - we haven't really seen what is planned for beyond Q1 this year.

Is it an age thing? It might be for me! But nothing feels as fresh as it did back in those days, felt like gamers and developers were finding out what was possible together and the possibilities felt endless. Even getting my hands on a Rumble Pack for the first time was incredible... yeah, it's an age thing!

@The_Nintendo_Expat There’s a little bit of date fudging there, it’s not a fair comparison as the N64 had a staggered release across the regions - Switch 2 did not.

It’s been around six months since Switch 2 launched.

Blast Corps for example was released 9 months after the N64 launched in Japan. KI 8 months (in US). DKR would be 17 months after the Japanese launch. Bomberman 15 months.

I remember the N64 days very well, for me nothing will top the excitement of that time. But it’s early days in the Switch 2’s life and we have no idea what they have cooking.

The world is a very different place to 2017, for better or worse.

I’m a digital only guy so don’t have a dog in this race, with patches and updates and such the idea of everything you’ll need forever being on the cart/disc are long gone.

BUT! This feels sneaky, whatever your thoughts on physical v digital - the merchant should always be upfront and honest about what you’re paying for and I don’t think they were in this case.

@Pj1 Before this summer I last visited NY in 2016 and the stuff there was great. They had an exclusive T-Shirt with a group of Pikmin crossing a NYC street which I wore frequently and Mrs Scorpio picked a purse modelled on a GBC. Hoping London makes up for it a little.

I’m going on Sunday and from the looks of it there’s more interesting stuff in London than there was in New York back in August.

Despite this looking like it’s right my street I’m ashamed to say I missed this on Switch 1, definitely picking it up for Switch 2.

In my testing I have also noticed that Mario and the updated textures can disappear if you remove the HDMI lead.

It probably says more about me than I’d wish, but the price of that unit didn’t stop me instantly pre-ordering it. The price of the Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 though… woof. And I love those games.
