@RhiannonRune It's just a guess as no one outside of Nintendo has got hold of one of these yet - but don't see why not? It's just a bit of plastic (or cardboard) and Labo didn't do any checks, and that was just cardboard too.
@The_Nintendo_Expat I get ya, just think using just the US experience isn't a fair comparison as Nintendo would've allocated resource for development and publishing based around when the hardware was out in the wild.
If I were to make the same point but focus purely on how it was here in the UK, ALL of those titles released in the first 9 months. Games were announced way before release then too (mostly, DKR was announced and released within a couple of months if I recall) so we knew Zelda and BK were coming the following year - we haven't really seen what is planned for beyond Q1 this year.
Is it an age thing? It might be for me! But nothing feels as fresh as it did back in those days, felt like gamers and developers were finding out what was possible together and the possibilities felt endless. Even getting my hands on a Rumble Pack for the first time was incredible... yeah, it's an age thing!
@The_Nintendo_Expat There’s a little bit of date fudging there, it’s not a fair comparison as the N64 had a staggered release across the regions - Switch 2 did not.
It’s been around six months since Switch 2 launched.
Blast Corps for example was released 9 months after the N64 launched in Japan. KI 8 months (in US). DKR would be 17 months after the Japanese launch. Bomberman 15 months.
I remember the N64 days very well, for me nothing will top the excitement of that time. But it’s early days in the Switch 2’s life and we have no idea what they have cooking.
I’m a digital only guy so don’t have a dog in this race, with patches and updates and such the idea of everything you’ll need forever being on the cart/disc are long gone.
BUT! This feels sneaky, whatever your thoughts on physical v digital - the merchant should always be upfront and honest about what you’re paying for and I don’t think they were in this case.
1) N64 Rainbow Road (Mario Kart 8) 2) The Great Sea (Wind Waker) 3) Rosalina in the Observatory 3 (Super Mario Galaxy) 4) Athletic BGM (Super Mario World) 5) Badge Challenge (Super Mario Bros. Wonder) 6) Aquatic Ambiance (Donkey Kong Country) 7) Dire, Dire Docks (Super Mario 64) 8) Kass's Theme (Breath of the Wild) 9) A-Type (Tetris GB) 10) Please Select Player (Super Mario Bros. 2)
Surely if it's £4 to upgrade to the NS2 edition, it wouldn't hurt to make it free for Expansion Pack members.
I haven't touched my island since 2022... must be in a right mess now. Or left alone the residents have created a perfect society - either way, excited to find out!
@Pj1 Before this summer I last visited NY in 2016 and the stuff there was great. They had an exclusive T-Shirt with a group of Pikmin crossing a NYC street which I wore frequently and Mrs Scorpio picked a purse modelled on a GBC. Hoping London makes up for it a little.
It probably says more about me than I’d wish, but the price of that unit didn’t stop me instantly pre-ordering it. The price of the Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 though… woof. And I love those games.
This is incredible and really brightened my day! I love stuff like this where talented people bring their passions to life (closest I’ve come is building a secret bookcase door), thanks for sharing I’m off to play Wind Waker…

Re: Talking Point: How The Heck Will MGS4 On Switch Handle Its PlayStation References?
I haven’t played MGS4, but that interaction made me cringe.

@rushiosan Exactly, Indy was basically a Game-Key Disc on Xbox to start with.
Re: Talking Point: Where's Your Nintendo Labo Now?
Mrs Scorpio put it in the recycling bin. Our daughter really wasn't happy about that!
Re: Resident Evil Requiem Live-Action Short Takes Us Right Back To The Beginning
That was a cool watch, looking forward to the 27th!
But if we're ranking current day scream queens, Samara Weaving has to be top of the list right?

@PushMyGran86 My uncle told me. Can’t say where he works.
Re: Rumour: A Nintendo Direct May Be Coming As Soon As Next Week
At some point in 2026 Nintendo will have the first full-fat Direct of the year. Mark it.
Re: Cross-Progression Is Coming To Hitman: World Of Assassination Next Month
@Res462 I've put well over 50 hours in at this point, no problems at all.
It's a great game, the patch locking it to 30 fps smoothed over what (to me) was a minor issue.
Re: Nintendo Switch 2025 'Year In Review' Is Available Now
1. HITMAN World of Assassination
2. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
3. The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of
Wisdom

Who am I kidding! It's worse.

@Angelic_Lapras_King Whoa, you’re right. I still think of Pikmin as a new franchise but that’s made me feel well old!

I suppose 3 does come before 4… but still!

Oh good, get to hear "BMI Results (Obese)" again.

Will I play the heck out of this update? Yes.
Would I pay to upgrade to a Switch 2 version down the line and play it all again? Yes.
Do I need help? No.

Re: Gallery: Here's A Closer Look At The London Pop-Up Nintendo Store's Sweet Merch
I’m going on Sunday and from the looks of it there’s more interesting stuff in London than there was in New York back in August.

@Angelic_Lapras_King Exactly what I was thinking. There is a USB-C port on the top of the Switch 2…

Yeah, only like £37 on the HK eshop. Bargin!
Re: Gallery: LEGO's New Game Boy Set Is A Mini Masterpiece
Mrs Scorpio is getting me this for Christmas.
Unless the package that's just arrived for her from the Lego Store isn't for me and I'm in a more geeky Emma Thompson/Love Actually thing.
Re: Digital Foundry Breaks Down Super Mario Galaxy 1 + 2 On Switch 1 & 2
@WiltonRoots In those circumstances it looks less nice.
In my testing I have also noticed that Mario and the updated textures can disappear if you remove the HDMI lead.
Re: Digital Foundry Breaks Down Super Mario Galaxy 1 + 2 On Switch 1 & 2
I'm here too soon, the video is private!
I can offer my opinion on the visual upgrades of Galaxy 1 and 2 though: they look nice.
Re: Nintendo Announces Establishment Of New Local Entity In Singapore
@nib0 Mission accomplished!
Re: Hitman: World Of Assassination Updated On Switch 2, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
This is probably my most played game at launch, love the series anyway, but glad to see continued improvement. Gives me hope for 007.

Re: Daft Punk Is Bringing The Digital Love To Fortnite Later This Week
@OldManHermit You are lucky! I missed them in 1997 and 2007, was hoping for something in 2017 but nope… at least in 2025 there’s Fortnite…

For a second I thought Extreme-G was back! This is better news!
Re: Virtual Boy Is Being Added To Nintendo Switch Online
Mental, didn't see that coming. Certainly didn't see it coming to NSO before Diddy Kong Racing.

Fantastic game, blooming awful commercial!
Happy 30th to an all-timer.
Re: Stunning Retro Throwback 'Terminator 2D: No Fate' Suffers Minor Delay
This delay aside, I still feel like they missed a trick not releasing it on August 29th. Easy money!
