@TimelessJubilee Without being too pessimistic I think the population are too far gone, the chances of them looking in detail at who they are voting for and understanding how to best use their electoral systems to their advantage seems slim.
I’m an investor in Nintendo, I want them to stay the course price wise. Better for customers in the short term and better for everyone in the long term.
Shame about the lack of gyro (and too much cheese) but sounds great otherwise, will pick this up! Feels pretty good not to be starved of decent third party games.
@Kiz3000 On the same page as you, can't see the point in revealing it now. If having Fox in the movie will get more bums on seats then why hasn't there been a new Star Fox game in the last 10 years?
We'd always like more software from Nintendo, and they do need to start unveiling their roadmap soon (Direct please). But it's kinda nice that third parties have had room to breathe so their titles sell in (hopefully) meaningful numbers rather than get obliterated by Nintendo's software - as is historically the case.
Can't help but wonder if there is anything else happening in America that might be giving customers reason to put off any expensive purchases?
Had this back in the day and had an absolute blast with it. It felt like magic at the time, almost like MGS1 had been shrunk into a cart the size of an After Eight.
@RhiannonRune It's just a guess as no one outside of Nintendo has got hold of one of these yet - but don't see why not? It's just a bit of plastic (or cardboard) and Labo didn't do any checks, and that was just cardboard too.
@The_Nintendo_Expat I get ya, just think using just the US experience isn't a fair comparison as Nintendo would've allocated resource for development and publishing based around when the hardware was out in the wild.
If I were to make the same point but focus purely on how it was here in the UK, ALL of those titles released in the first 9 months. Games were announced way before release then too (mostly, DKR was announced and released within a couple of months if I recall) so we knew Zelda and BK were coming the following year - we haven't really seen what is planned for beyond Q1 this year.
Is it an age thing? It might be for me! But nothing feels as fresh as it did back in those days, felt like gamers and developers were finding out what was possible together and the possibilities felt endless. Even getting my hands on a Rumble Pack for the first time was incredible... yeah, it's an age thing!
@The_Nintendo_Expat There’s a little bit of date fudging there, it’s not a fair comparison as the N64 had a staggered release across the regions - Switch 2 did not.
It’s been around six months since Switch 2 launched.
Blast Corps for example was released 9 months after the N64 launched in Japan. KI 8 months (in US). DKR would be 17 months after the Japanese launch. Bomberman 15 months.
I remember the N64 days very well, for me nothing will top the excitement of that time. But it’s early days in the Switch 2’s life and we have no idea what they have cooking.
I’m a digital only guy so don’t have a dog in this race, with patches and updates and such the idea of everything you’ll need forever being on the cart/disc are long gone.
BUT! This feels sneaky, whatever your thoughts on physical v digital - the merchant should always be upfront and honest about what you’re paying for and I don’t think they were in this case.

Re: Feature: Behind The Lens - How New Pokémon Snap Made Me Miss My Dad
Such a lovely story, DKC always reminds me of my Dad.
The emotional connection we have with games is why I get a little annoyed when games are looked at as a lesser art than movies or music.
Re: Capcom Says It Will Continue To Nurture Its "Leading Brands" With Sequels, Remakes And Ports
Will pay ca$h money for a port of the REmake trilogy on Switch 2.

@TenEighty I know.
Re: Reggie Fils-Aimé Recalls The Phone Call That Broke Nintendo And Amazon's Relationship
@TenEighty We all better off with HTML5 etc, rather than running proprietary, bug and vulnerability ridden software like Flash and ActiveX.
Re: The Live-Action Zelda Movie Is Coming To IMAX
There’s a world of difference between “IMAX” and true 70mm 15 perf IMAX, and I doubt this is being shot in the latter.

For half a second there I thought a new Star Fox game was coming...

Re: Capcom Celebrates Resident Evil 30th Anniversary With Multiple Announcements
@babybilly Logically it feels like 30 years, emotionally not so much!
Re: Capcom Celebrates Resident Evil 30th Anniversary With Multiple Announcements
Sounds cool. I know it’s because I’m old but RE still feels like a “new” franchise to me.
Hoping for something to mark the 40th anniversary of another classic series this year…

Re: UK Charts: Mario Tennis Fever Gets Lobbed By Old Favourites
Apart from on the N64, Mario Tennis is always a 'wait for a sale' game for me.
Re: Resident Evil Requiem Leakers Deserve "A Thousand Deaths", Says Hideki Kamiya
Bit extreme. Just one death would be enough for most.
Re: Review: Virtual Boy For Switch 1 & 2 - Is It Really Worth Revisting Nintendo's Greatest Folly?
Fair. It's a recreation of a flawed system so the flaws are kinda crucial to that recreation. I'm enjoying it for what it is.

Re: Rumour: A Nintendo Direct May Be Coming As Soon As Next Week
At some point in 2026 Nintendo will have the first full-fat Direct of the year. Mark it.
Re: Cross-Progression Is Coming To Hitman: World Of Assassination Next Month
@Res462 I've put well over 50 hours in at this point, no problems at all.
It's a great game, the patch locking it to 30 fps smoothed over what (to me) was a minor issue.
Re: Nintendo Switch 2025 'Year In Review' Is Available Now
1. HITMAN World of Assassination
2. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
3. The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of
