The only titles I have concerns about (and that is too strong a word!) are Alien Isolation and GRID, but good to see an update on this.

@darkswabber Thats fair, but Nintendo have done hardware updates like this before and haven’t lost their identity because they still use that hardware to craft unique experiences through software. And sometimes cardboard! 😂

From Sony, whose major innovations in this space are what? Without getting too 90’s console wars, as far as I can tell the PS control pads are still derivative of the SNES.

@Gryffin Yes, went from carts to optical discs. SNES games were about the same price as N64 ones.

@gcunit Agreed, that deal was what pushed me into buying a Wii U.

@Uncle_Franklin I’m not saying it’s a good thing but worth pointing out Street Fighter 2 was about £70 on the SNES! Price was just one factor in the underperformance of the N64, especially when the average RRP of a N64 cart being £49.99 and a PS1 game was £34.99. That’s a huge difference. £60-£70 appears the norm for new releases across platforms so it’s not a shock but I am disappointed, it feels like Nintendo trying their arm when they didn’t have too…

Frustratingly my NSO member shipped lapsed for a couple of days last year when I was on holiday. 🙄

They were in marketing and coms right? Which is essentially a subjective reading of fixed data points - there are going to be different views which is why K&K were part of a wider team.

Having said that, I can’t say I don’t disagree with them. Obviously next week we’ll know more but at this point I’m not sure what MK9 can bring to the table. MK8 has spent the last 10 years feeling like the perfection of the formula, but I’m looking forward to finding out!

This is great! I never really got into it first time around and it stretched the capabilities of the N64 too far for me to tolerate - looking forward to playing on NSO. Diddy Kong next yeah?

An animated Mario film, fine. But a live action Zelda… The creative team (sans Miyamoto) don’t exactly fill me with confidence, hope I’m wrong but this this feels too important to have the director of Maze Runner and the producer who tanked Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man films involved.

@EarthboundBenjy Maybe the Wii remake? That's retro now! I know the history (Santa got me the first two games many many years ago) and wasn't commenting on the value proposition for the package on offer which is very fair, just that use of the word 'collection' that to me felt a little grand. My two-cents, A Boy and His Blob: Retro Compilation feels like a better fit for two games.

With just two games included they are stretching the word 'collection' a little!

Last time Nintendo did an ambassador programme it was just something to pacify those impacted by a business decision they’d had to make. I think we know what’s going on, it’s a title to cushion the blow.

I never played Turok 3 back in the day after being let down by Turok 2 (N64 Magazine was well off in their review!). Nightdive made Turok 2 playable and I really enjoyed playing it on Switch so will give this a go when it launches.

Take note CEOs, I’d rather be described as a customer than a consumer.
