Went to the Belfast store last summer, not sure if it was always called game, was there for a long time, remember when they sold new NES Gameboy and Master System titles, remember buying a quickshot controller to play sensible soccer on my Atari ST in there
Shop wasn't looking so good, couldn't see prices on the games, no pride in keeping shop looking good.
We were excited for this game, but it will be a pass this time, we put alot of time into the 3ds game.
For those who don't expect such options in games should be able to disable them at a system level, and not have to deal with it, DQIII could have taken this route, fine with people wanting these options but for those that don't they should get the choice too.
Recently got back into this game, its the only game me the wife and kids play together, the facebook group for the game has been buzzing about this update and there are a ton of people enjoying this update.
Many have 1000 plus hours in this game, someone reviewing this after 5 or 6 hours doesn't really do the game justice.
Some of the Switch 2 editions of games seem like a waste of resources, sure we want a visuals and performance bump on Switch 1 games, but did we really need Kirby and the forgotten land and mario party jamboree again? Animal Crossing new horizons incoming again, Mario Wonder getting Re-released.
A new Mario, Smash or the next Animal Crossing would get the ball moving on sales, Will Mario Tennis Fever be a system mover? I doubt it.
Mario KW aside, Donkey Kong and Kirby Air Riders seem to be solid releases, whilst Metroid and especially Pokemon ZA have been lackluster, While Pokemon sells like gangbusters anyway, the quality Isn't there.
The industry as a whole has lost alot of consumer confidence, with quiet a few lackluster releases in the past 2 years, who to trust for honest game reviews, although Nintendo has been on a very strong roll since 2017 they may be feeling a bit of what the others are feeling.
Nintendo is the only game subscription service we subscribe at home anymore, i let PS plus run out this past summer after they raised the price, its not worth it anymore, Gamepass i tried a few years ago after getting a Series x, that was a disappointment for me.
NSO is far from perfect, F.Zero 99 and Tetris 99 are fantastic, when it comes to retro I would much prefer Virtual Console than whats been offered at present.
@topsekret i am not talking about this game in particular, just the focus on arcade archives since the release of the switch 2, whilst i am glad these titles are being made available, they are way overpriced, and thats where the lack of push back from NL is apparent.
Nintendo has been on top of it since the Switch released, getting most things right, while i am not the biggest advocate of NSO rental service, its been more affordable than psplus or gamepass, i would have preferred virtual console though.
The Switch has perhaps the best library in the history of gaming, Nintendo has delivered a ton of great games on the platform, whilst i can't say the same for Sony, all the great games they had on earlier systems have been forgotten, we spent so much time on games like Singstar, buzz, Uncharted, Killzone, Infamous now all gone.
Game Freak are essentially printing money with this release, as we all know Pokemon is a Juggernaut of a franchise, but here is a game framed as a AAA release with the minimal of effort put in whilst it looks like a budget title that you would expected to pay no more than 15 bucks for, Silksong showed the worth and value of a game done right.
Both my kids turned their nose up at the game when they seen it, i picked up 2 copies thinking we'd play at the same time like last game.
I took a gander at metacritic to see the scores, and much like other high profile games of late there is a real disconnect between reviewers and gamers, overall quality of titles are diminishing rapidly but seem to be propped up by games media to the bemusement of gamers, holding games creators to higher standards has all but disappeared.
Personally i am not finished with Z-A, i am hoping it will click for me soon, but the lack of voice acting, battling is uninspired and feels like a cooldown simulator, and the city feels soulless.
Played about 3 hours, it hasn't clicked for me yet, i feel the city is lifeless, npcs are just standing around, a city should be vibrant, especially if its based on Paris, but everything is so bland.
Too much focus on the performance of Scarlet and Violet during reviews for those games ignoring the fact that they were decent games, i'm no Pokemon expert but i enjoyed SaV way more than Sword and Shield.
The fact that Ubisoft were making an Assassin's Creed game set in Japan was an exciting proposition, as details came out about the playable characters then excitement began to fade.
Certain characters in games seem to be shoehorned in these day, for many they are not believable, other huge franchise's have done this.
AC set the bar high with Characters such as Ezio and Edward Kenway.
Heard sales were down 40% compared the first game, not surprised.
Galaxy 1+2 on the other hand wasn't expected to sell gangbusters as its not a new experience, had it been Galaxy 3 that was just out then it would wipe the floor with the competition.
Good on Nintendo, its great that people can use their talents to revive older systems like 3ds or wii u, but pirating current gen software is like a red rag to the Bull.
Strange that Clair Obscure Isn't mentioned, that has clearly had the most buzz this year, only heard good things, same happened last year with Black Myth Wukong, clearly it had the most attention from gamers, with Metaphor the only real competitor for goty in 2024, strange times we live in.
A decent game, but not a 9/10 level game, lets be honest, 7 or 8 range.
I've played a few of these Sonic Racing games overs the years and Crossworlds is the only one that has truely clicked so far, all these games have to have some sort of gimmick instead of focusing on tight racing and interesting tracks, Nintendo has been guilty of this way too often, that's why we don't get an F-zero or even a Starfox game because they have to shoehorn in a gimmick.
I dropped of playing fifa games after 19, had been playing since the first game back on the Mega Drive, these days there just Isn't competition for football games, EA have settled into a rut.
Back in the day we had sensible soccer, kick off, super soccer, striker and even the likes of Nintendo world cup and a load of others including tonns of football management games.
For me the pinnacle of Fifa games was the 2010 world cup game, slowly but surely its been downhill since.
Ordered mine, hoping they add in a text size option, i am getting on in years and struggled with the text size in III, the writing is great and want to be able to read it all.
Mario Kart World whilst a fun game, i fell off pretty quickly i played about 10 hours so far, beat the Grand Prixs, they did something strange that i never seen in a Mario Kart game before when you win gold on 100cc it automatically registered gold on the lower difficulty, ie 50cc, giving no reason to play that difficulty level, i don't appreciate these so called intermission tracks at all, they are so jarring, they take me out of the Mario Kart experience.
To be honest they seem to have lost direction with this game, this feeling reminds me when Starfield came out, the idea of Fallout in space and go anywhere you want sounded amazing, same here here for Mario Kart World, drive anywhere you want, just like Starfield in reality it doesn't really add up to much fun.
Started the demo on this and will be picking this up, in fact i have already ordered, the Switch physical.
Trails seems a daunting series to get into well now is the perfect time with this entry.
I played thought cold steel 1 and 2 on ps4, those were fun , great story and plot twists and now most of the series is on The Nintendo Switch it easier to get into as all games are in one place, i think we are missing Cold Steel 1 and 2 but they surely come to the west as they are already on the Japanese eshop.
I can't fathom why this game has received so many articles, whilst other games that come out and are actually good fall through the cracks, seems more and more these past few years that certain games are being pushed through and seemingly promoted by media outlets that don't deserve to be, integrity seems to be a forgotten quality.
Never really took to these Borderland games, did try one on PS3, the art style wasn't appealing, didn't really know it was coming to a Nintendo platform this time around, seems to have been a bit of controversy over the price of the game.
We can argue forever on this, its clear a section of gamers want physical games and choose not to purchase game key cards, i have around 300 Switch physical games, i can't see getting to that number on Switch 2, i would have purchased Bravely already and a few other games by now but as of today i only have Donkey Kong Bananza.
I like playing a few rounds of online races, but that system of driving between courses got old real quick.
Also would like to add I think course design on newer MK tracks since the booster pack for MK8 deluxe has been far from stellar, the original dlc tracks we got on the Wii U version were fantastic, a few stand out tracks here and there but the never fully reach the Double Dash days of greatness.
The price of these Arcade Archives games of late has gotten a bit steep, and from looking at the eshop they are offering 2 versions, S1 and S2, i don't really see the point, what's different?
I have bought about 15 of these while i am pleased with the emulation and options however the variety of games is lacking, still waiting for R-Type Leo.
War in the North is the best Lotr game i have played, Lego Hobbit is good too, although that latest game looks horrible, don't understand why these old classic ips are are falling away, Star Wars outlaws is another example, i guess the people who made these franchises great are no longer involved.
I ordered the Asian version of this on playasia a while back but got an email last week saying that there wasn't going to be an Asian version, and that I could change it for the Japanese version instead.

Still not buying it, Ubisoft much like bioware and obsidian have lost the trust of many many gamers.

Are Hamster sponsoring these reviews, strange to focus so much on old arcade roms, they are ridiculously over priced on Switch 2.

Re: Poll: Three Months In, How Would You Rate Switch 2's Library So Far?
Donkey Kong Bananza is the stand out experience, although a little short, my son finished the game, i think used about 15 hours.
Kirby and Mario Party are to be honest cheap cash grabs, Drag X Drive is basically to show how the Switch 2 joycons can be used as a mouse.
Cyberpunk can be played elsewhere
Hopefully they get the ball rolling with some new experiences soon, Metroid is taking so long.
Re: Poll: Three Months In, How Would You Rate Switch 2's Library So Far?
