When this came on Kickstarter, I was on a social media experiment to see if one could last without social media for 180 days. I heard about this and decided to "break" and back this game up (it wasn't really breaking-- it was an experiment, not a contest). I check now and then to see their progress. I'm glad they haven't given up.
@HappyMaskedGuy The only thing is: EA doesn't make bad games. They have terrible business policies — that should be remedied, not wishing that there were less games.
@A01 You clearly don't work with kids in the US. As an elementary school music teacher, it's evident Pokemon GO is still quite alive. Not nearly as big as launch, but it won't be forgoten come 2017
@DiscoGentleman this may have been addressed through the wealth of replies on this thread, but... I'm nearly positive that the social aspect is intentional
I love it! My biggest problems are the servers, the 1 HP glitch when fighting gyms, and the fact that my phone's GPS sucks. It has really brought friends together — some that I thought were never into Pokemon. It's hilarious to drive down the street and have the desire to shout out "HEY NERDS! WHAT TEAM ARE YOU ON?" and not be jumped.
@Dakt Correct. While Nintendo owns majority shares in Pokemon Co., Pokemon Co. owns the IP. It's weird. Needless to say, the 5-game announcement was strictly about Nintendo and DeNa's partnership.
@Dakt This isnt' one of the games/apps that DeNA and Nintendo have a partnership on. The main driving force is the Pokemon Company and Niantic. Nintendo is just part of the process — not the main part
Online Zelda would be fun, but I'd like a fresh take. If the game is only surrounded by solving puzzles and exploration... mm iono. I'd love a fresher take. That said, the idea sounds utterly enticing.
I remember seeing this before. I like the idea, but the implementation does make you itch your head. The man behind the video brings up good questions. I personally find the slogan a bit odd: the "new" retro? Mm.
@Kirk I'm with you there. I've never understood how QoL works with Nintendo's idea, and now this? As long as video games is the center, I think it's alright, but these sure are curious moves.
@Neon_Blues definition of theory in the world of science is interestingly different than the rest of English. The term Theory for this channel more correlated with the rest of English
One has to prepare themselves for this film like they do when watching the movie "Battleship." If you expect it to be a B rated movie, it isn't that bad.
People would be less apt to join it, but I'm all for a Zelda story that doesn't use Link as the protagonist. Have a story about the Sealing Wars. Whatever the case, it cannot be a simple port from game to film.
I don't get why no one understands it. There's no place like it (Nintendo) but it flips it to play--there's no place to play like it. I like it. It's odd, not without its imperfections, but I'm fond of it. Granted, I've been accused of being a hipster so who knows, but its odd, distinct, yet playful slogan is quite appealing.
@KO-Cub very true. Crew battles started in Melee and now has the opportunity to flourish with SSB4. As for change, many of the Smash players are for it. I think we just need bigger screens
Now let's hope it's good. I like the idea a lot, but often these action reimaginations are "dark focused" and tries too hard to reference the original rather than overall well written. (I'm mainly thinking of that Power Rangers reimagination:P) We'll see!
I like this idea. I think more people should do this — live music accompanying games, but livening it up with musical hits. That said, let's add some melody and harmonic movement to it as well!
It makes me sad when people say baseball is a dying sport. It's definitely struggling, perhaps dying, but it sure is a good sport. The world's getting too fast for its own good.
"For complete immersion" I know 90% of that is just PR, but I also recognise that Star Fox Zero's on-floor station ruined experiences for other games. I'm wondering if sound plays a role in this next Zelda game. I don't even need huge... I'm just curious to what extent...
@Nintendude789 True. I'd still like to think that Nintendo's mentality is to create unique games for their hardware. This was evident even before Iwata-san [though, more prominent during his reign]. And if Kimishima-san says that the NX is to be different in how games are played [I believe that was him...], then I'd assume that that's applied to the mobile sector as well.
But in the end, you're right: who knows I guess I'll find out when I wake up
@DiscoGentleman It isn't pure rumour. An earlier article quoted [I believe] Kimishima-san about the next app being a game. I'm surprised that wasn't referenced here
@Nintendude789 Wasn't Iwata's goal not to have games ported over to mobile? I know that the mini-games aren't exactly a port, but you'd think the same idea applies: creating games that are unique to the device.
It'd make sense for Nintendo to choose an IP that is well-known as their first mobile game. Zelda is first to come to mind solely on the fact that it's their 30th [though who knows]. While I tell myself that I won't get it so I am not tethered to my phone... >_> that might change depending on its quality

Why, again, is this iOS exclusive?
Re: Pokémon GO's Success Has Convinced Sony To Perform About-Face On Mobile Gaming
@JLPick agreed. Also if Niantic doesn't do more stupid stuff, it'll stay alive.
I had to correct an entire class when they pronounced Pokemon wrong

( Searching #presidentofmystic will get some good laughs )
Re: Pokémon GO Cyclists Aren't Thrilled About Being Penalised By Speed Limit
If the game is about being active, why not bump it to 35km/hr? It still makes things difficult for a car driver playing the game

Sucks ass? The performance is terrible, yes, but when working, it's been utterly fun. Will it last longevity? Depends on their servers.

But seriously, that's hilariously sad.
