Re: RiME Devs Explain The Difficulty Of Porting The Game To Switch

Haiassai

I don't think it's entirely fair to compare Doom to RiME. Both are rather different games in different approaches. DOOM's gameplay is wonderful but the vastness isn't comparable. Zelda got it right — mind you, that's by Nintendo. It's too bad this didn't turn out well. I was looking forward to this game — it's definitely not on my "need it now" list

Re: Picross S Is Headed To Nintendo Switch Later This Month

@SLIGEACH_EIRE don't get me wrong — I getcha. I love my Wii U. Still have it hooked up. And support was a big reason it died young. But what's done is done and the Wii U's life is over. It's just how it worked out in the end. So to say you're crossed that it's not on Wii U is a statement of denial. It didn't, it sucks, but it's over. :/

Re: Nintendo Ordered to Pay $10 Million Following Patent Lawsuit Loss

Haiassai

@SLIGEACH_EIRE @UmbreonsPapa Setting precedence is exactly the reason. Nintendo has often fought cases not for money but rather so people don't take advantage of them. Since Nintendo is rather experimental with their hardware, they're bound to get a lot of lawsuits. To back down would create an image that anyone take claim their patent was "stolen."

Re: Tatsumi Kimishima Outlines His Nintendo Targets, Laying the Groundwork for a Successor

@Yasume it seems that a big portion of your view is from his 100 mil statement. Sure, that number seems utterly out there (though time will tell), but beyond that, what else has Kimishima done to warrant this belief? It's hard to see what was of the influence of Iwata v him, but the company's restructure to allow the youth to have a voice seems that he is rather active in the company and isn't just talk — as you put it. A stronger push into not just the mobile market but smarter marketing. There's a lot of action that Kimishima has done and I'm curious — what else seems to be all talk?

Re: Video: Take an Extended Look at Switch Exclusive Seasons of Heaven

Unsure why people are critiquing the game due to the book's content. This isn't a licensed game. It's based on the content of the book — who knows how the story itself will pan out.

The visuals look nice, by compositionally, the music does not match. The first trailer we saw had more musical potential. This one merely has continual sequencing and a bit of textual movement. Kinda disappointed

Re: Nintendo Share Value Rebounds Slightly After Recent Drops

Haiassai

@TheLZdragon Which I completely understand. It just seems odd that Nintendo has put itself in a situation where investors will only give a thumbs up if it's a mobile hit. To the investor in the earlier article stating his dumbfoundedness to the Switch because we all have mobile devices: this is a home console first. Having that ability to take it on the go, in my opinion, is marketable. Not an immediate cash cow, but an eventual. Clearly they see it differently.

Re: Paper Mario: Color Splash Makes Top 20 UK Debut as Mario Party: Star Rush Misses Out

Haiassai

@HappyMaskedGuy it's the adaptation of language. In fact, because English is a mix of Latin and Germanic languages, UK English is closer to the Latin version and US is closer to the Germanic. And if you want to go even further, the UK accent is quite far from what Old English used to sound like. Those who retain it the most is probably the Irish, but it still isn't pure.

Needless to say, it isn't ignorance — just adaptation and preference.
