No man deserves death threats. Sadly that's still a thing in the competitive community... both Melee and 4. Seems like he's taking the same route as Ken did.
I don't think it's entirely fair to compare Doom to RiME. Both are rather different games in different approaches. DOOM's gameplay is wonderful but the vastness isn't comparable. Zelda got it right — mind you, that's by Nintendo. It's too bad this didn't turn out well. I was looking forward to this game — it's definitely not on my "need it now" list
@SLIGEACH_EIRE don't get me wrong — I getcha. I love my Wii U. Still have it hooked up. And support was a big reason it died young. But what's done is done and the Wii U's life is over. It's just how it worked out in the end. So to say you're crossed that it's not on Wii U is a statement of denial. It didn't, it sucks, but it's over. :/
I have greater hopes that this title will live up to the "definitive" title. It's cool that the Switch is getting another racing game, though! That genre was rather dry during the Wii U days.
It took forever and so much money to make FFXV that it's understandable why they're putting so much thought in porting to the Switch. It's a new and booming market. It'd be real cool if they could effectively port it
Hopefully it's something a bit more than just the Pocket Version. I never finished XV and wouldn't mind playing it on the Switch. But that game is so visually stunning that the Pocket Version just doesn't do it justice
I've heard amazing things about this game. I'm glad that the Switch is getting great ports — hopefully these same studios will eventually invest new games as well
@SLIGEACH_EIRE @UmbreonsPapa Setting precedence is exactly the reason. Nintendo has often fought cases not for money but rather so people don't take advantage of them. Since Nintendo is rather experimental with their hardware, they're bound to get a lot of lawsuits. To back down would create an image that anyone take claim their patent was "stolen."
Will all of Tokyo-RPG's games look, feel, and sound the exact same? I've enjoyed I Am Setsuna, but I'd love for the games to evolve in some way other than mechanics and story.
This will be my first full-priced Skyrim. Mind you, I spent nearly 100 hours on my $6.99 version. I'm no PC Master Race, but boy Steam sales are lovely. Odd that I spent more time on Zelda in two weeks than Skyrim in a summer hahah I guess it's time to try a different class.
Would it be considered "blocked" if I have my Switch set up to my right instead of in front of me?
Due to my entertainment system's setup, it made more sense to get a longer HDMI and set it up next to me. However, if I need to have it pointed at the Switch, I may need to reconsider...
@Yasume I'm actually curious for an honest response to my old comment. Your first post says Kimishima is all talk. The Switch's success aside, what else has Kimishima said that makes you feel that he has no action behind his words?
@Yasume it seems that a big portion of your view is from his 100 mil statement. Sure, that number seems utterly out there (though time will tell), but beyond that, what else has Kimishima done to warrant this belief? It's hard to see what was of the influence of Iwata v him, but the company's restructure to allow the youth to have a voice seems that he is rather active in the company and isn't just talk — as you put it. A stronger push into not just the mobile market but smarter marketing. There's a lot of action that Kimishima has done and I'm curious — what else seems to be all talk?
I remember backing this a while back. I really do hope this bounces to the Switch. The asymmetrical attributes the Wii U has makes that platform the ideal area to play the game on. I hope it does well, though.
@Moshugan seriously. People who say this looks like Breath of the Wild (or even Wind Waker, for that matter) makes me wonder how wide of scope their games are. Ico or Journey come to mind more
Unsure why people are critiquing the game due to the book's content. This isn't a licensed game. It's based on the content of the book — who knows how the story itself will pan out.
The visuals look nice, by compositionally, the music does not match. The first trailer we saw had more musical potential. This one merely has continual sequencing and a bit of textual movement. Kinda disappointed
@G-Boy Depends who arranges them. If it's done by the same person who arranges the music for Symphony of the Goddesses, then most definitely. If Koji Kondo actually decides which part plays what, it can truly be magical
@TheLZdragon Which I completely understand. It just seems odd that Nintendo has put itself in a situation where investors will only give a thumbs up if it's a mobile hit. To the investor in the earlier article stating his dumbfoundedness to the Switch because we all have mobile devices: this is a home console first. Having that ability to take it on the go, in my opinion, is marketable. Not an immediate cash cow, but an eventual. Clearly they see it differently.
@impurekind Which is odd... because if the customer is happy, in theory, they will purchase it. Of course, it takes a great kind of happiness to move a market rather than a safe bet that pushes money for a quick season.
It shocks me how investors are pushing so hard against this idea. Maybe not, but it just shows how a percentage of people are only in to financially support a company for monetary reasons rather than the ideas of their creations.
@HappyMaskedGuy it's the adaptation of language. In fact, because English is a mix of Latin and Germanic languages, UK English is closer to the Latin version and US is closer to the Germanic. And if you want to go even further, the UK accent is quite far from what Old English used to sound like. Those who retain it the most is probably the Irish, but it still isn't pure.
Needless to say, it isn't ignorance — just adaptation and preference.
The biggest problem is that the Nintendo community is so split on the concept of DLC. This has been Nintendo's biggest hurdle with amiibo. If done right, I don't think the D word has to be so concerning. I'd love to see these amiibo interact with the BotW world like wolf link, yet half the people here would throw a fit.

I'm going to have to defend my time on the Switch — my roommate's girlfriend loves this game. Maybe having a communal Switch was a bad idea...
