Re: Gunman Clive HD Collection Has Sold 9000 Copies But Has Still Made A Profit

Gorlokk

I think the reason these games sell more than they do on Steam is because there's no competition for cheap, quality games on either the Wii U or 3DS eShop. Okay, there are a few games here and there that have a good budget price, but at Steam, there are hundreds of quality games that go on sale for just a few bucks... I really with the eShop would have great deals like those more often.

Re: Natsume Is Selling Vintage Factory Sealed Stock Via Its eBay Store

I bought a copy of Hometown Story since it came with the plushie for just $16 total. That's a steal, I mean that's less than half the average 3DS game.

But WOW, sealed copies of Lufia II and Pocky and Rocky? If only they had 1000s lying around they could sell off for reasonable prices. It would be like a dream come true!

Re: Ichiro Hazama Would Like to Keep Making More Theatrhythm Games

Gorlokk

I love the Theatrhythm games so much. I bought the first one at launch (on a whim actually, but fell in love with it), got the second at launch as well. I even imported the Dragon Quest one a few months ago, despite having little experience with Dragon quest. Actually, it inspired me to start collecting the games. I got the first two for NES, IV, V and VI for DS... Anyway, that aside, I think the series has huge potential.

@Nintendo_Ninja suggested a Pokemon one. I'd play that, I think it would work well because it's a turn based game like the others. Personally, I would LOVE to see either a Theatrhythm: Castlevania, or a Theatrhythm: Mega Man. Aside from that, a Theatryhthm: Nintendo would be amazing. Just, all the games. On that note, a Theatrhythm: EarthBound/Mother would work well, sell well (for sure in Japan), and be awesome.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Can Exploit Its Rich History With More Remasters

Gorlokk

If there's any Zelda game(s) that I'd love to see remastered/remaked/reimagined, it would be Link's Awakening, the Oracle games, and the Minish Cap. Not that there's anything wrong with those games, but I want to see those worlds in either a 3D or HD 2D visual approach, because they're my favorite Zelda games.

But the one game remaster/remake etc. that would make my life complete is an HD EarthBound remake. Or Mother 3. Or all three. I know Itoi said no more new Mother games, more specifically, no Mother 4, but I don't think he said anything about a remake.

Re: Feature: The Biggest 3DS Games of 2016

Honestly, this year is looking reaaaally underwhelming for both 3DS and Wii U. Star Fox Zero might be good, SMTxFE might be good if you can tolerate high doses of weeb... But at least SMTIV Final and the DQVII localisation smells like a fun time.

Re: Video: Check Out This Footage of Paradise Lost: First Contact

Neat concept! But lazy, unoriginal, uninspired, and flat out ugly artstyle that wears its "I'm just an indie gotta love me! " badge on its sleeve.

I keep on hearing about indie Metroidvanias and keep on buying them thinking that I'm going to get a game like Castlevania. Rogue Legacy, La Mulana, Valdis Story, Castle in the Darkness, etc. All the ones I've played are somewhat enjoyable in their own ways, but none have ever matched even the low points of the Castlevania-Metroidvania games (I wish I didn't have to put both of those words together, but I can't just say Castlevania and I can't just say Metroidvania either). Not to mention, so many of them are just filled to the brim with references to other games. Like "Lady Shanoa." Very clever, Rogue Legacy. Makes me wish I was playing Order of Ecclesia.

I love Metroidvania games, but I have yet to find one that has a good atmosphere, appealing graphics, tons of weapons and armor, decent RPG elements, good music and everything else that made the Castlevania games so good. Most of the ones I've played fill some of those, but never all. However, I'm really interested in trying out Ori and the Blind Forest.

Please, please, please, let Bloodstained be good...!!

Re: Editorial: Xenoblade Chronicles X Has Tiny Text - Time for an Update?

Gorlokk

Oh no... I haven't bought XCX yet, but I plan to get it soon. However, one of my biggest problems with Xenblade Chronicles for Wii was how small the text is. Aside from the daunting task of what many people say is a 100+ hour long quest, the text size was definitely one of the main reasons why I stopped playing and probably won't try to pick it up again for a long time

Re: Mother 3 Heading to the Wii U eShop in Japan on 17th December

Gorlokk

Remember the reason Nintendo gave for why they released EarthBound on the virtual console? It was all the posts on the JP Mother 2 section on Miiverse. We just gotta do it again! It's disappointing that we're not getting it just like that, but Mother fans have been given a chance again. Hope rides on!

Re: Video: Check Out a Graphical Comparison for The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD

Gorlokk

While I was watching the direct, I honestly thought they were just showing the Wii/GC version and waiting to fade into a beautiful looking HD remake, but alas that wasn't the case. Honestly this looks like the absolute bare minimum effort was put forward to make it "HD." I might consider getting this the Wolf Link amiibo bundle because I do think that looks kind of nice and I never did beat this game, but overall it's very disappointing to say the least. Even when they showed the first screenshots for Wind Waker HD, I could tell there was at least some improvement in visuals. Here I can't unless there's a side-by-side comparison, and even then it's really not anything special.

Re: Site News: Nintendo Life Turns 10 Today

Gorlokk

I first made my account here on Nintendo Life in October 2012 I believe, but I had been visiting here for a little bit before that. Ever since I made my account, I think I've checked this website just about every day... You know, I don't know what it is exactly about this site in particular that really made me want to stay, but I'm awfully glad I did. I'll never forget about the great person I met on this website that sent me their old Japanese 3DS just for the cost of shipping. That was one of the nicest things anyone has ever done for me, and if it wasn't for Nintendo Life, it would have never happened.

Re: Genei Ibun Roku #FE Directors Reveal More Details About the Game

Gorlokk

Fire Emblem has already changed a fair bit in tone (they're still good, of course), so I'm fine with whatever this game brings to the table. There's no denying that its way different from what I expected of a "Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem" game, but it looks plenty interesting in its own ways.

Re: The Current Final Fantasy Director Would Like A Chance To Work With The Zelda Series

Gorlokk

And honestly, to the people saying "NO NO NO OMG FINAL FANTASY IS SHOOOO BAAAAHD!!!" I don't really like 'modern' Final Fantasy either, but it's not like it would be a mainline game. It's not like the "Zelda" name isn't already tainted anyway, what with the CD-i games. The name "Zelda" isn't pure, so why not just give this crazy idea a go? Nintendo themselves have realized for years now that the Zelda "formula" has gotten stale anyway.

Re: Midora Developer Admits He Knew Kickstarter Funds Wouldn't Be Enough To Complete The Game

Gorlokk

Why does a slightly upscaled Minish Cap need 60k anyway? Where does the money go? Programmers and artists? Well damn, they must be getting some pretty decent money in that case. What's wrong with just working on a game in your spare time? Is that not what they're doing even with the money?

I can't believe that nearly 90% of all gaming related Kickstarter projects have been such a let down. Even MN9 looks pretty lackluster. My only hope now is that Bloodstained is as good as the other CV games. I do have good faith in Yooka Laylee too, I'm just not as excited for that.
