That's a really neat idea, but not necessarily something I think really makes Pokemon Go that much more appealing. I don't get attached to any Pokemon I find in Go. It would be REALLY nice if this feature returned for Sun and Moon...
"we'd recommend Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity"
Er, I'll admit I haven't played it (yet) but it appears to me that nearly all PMD fans find GtI to be the weakest entry. Although, I do believe what you say in that it's probably a "far more memorable experience in the same vein." But I'd recommend Super Mystery Dungeon personally.
@BlatantlyHeroic Well said, thank you for that. I knew as soon as I finished reading there would be people complaining in the comments section because how dare someone be disappointed in or complain about a Nintendo related product.
@Manjushri Dead system meaning no one is developing games for it anymore. The small handful of people that are buying a Wii U now are doing so to catch up on some of the few great exclusives the Wii U got (and probably buying one used for cheap). Those kinds of high quality exclusive games aren't coming to the Wii U anymore. Why? Because the Wii U is dead. How can you deny it? But then again, by your logic, no console is dead because there's at least some people out there buying old consoles. And if people are buying them, then I guess they aren't dead, huh?
For a second, I thought this was a new trailer for the new "Wonder Boy" game and could only think "Wow the animation and art style got downgraded hardcore." But now I see that once again I have confused "Wonder Boy" with "Monster Boy"
Sill looks good, but holy smokers, after re-watching the Wonder Boy trailer... Graphics like that, they can't be beat!
The Pip Boy on the Wii U GamePad would have been so amazing... Like, I'm serious, it would be absolutely incredible. I've only played Fallout: New Vegas (which I love), but I won't deny that, cool as the Pip Boy is, it's a little clunky to operate with keyboard and mouse. I kinda doubt we'll ever see a Fallout game on any Nintendo console in the near future, but it's a damn shame because Pip Boy + touch screen would be a match made in heaven.
Very interesting rumors. I'm really curious what the Pokemon title could be, if such a game is really being made for NX. If it's a 'mainline' game, I can't help but feel that it would be something kinda dumb like another gen 1 remake but in HD or something to appeal to the Go players. I mean, yeah that would be kinda neat, but at the same time kinda lame. Don't know what to think about a new Mario game. Not interested in another NSMB, and honestly I don't think anyone else is either, especially after Mario Maker. Not going for the PS4 market is a predictable Nintendo move but still disappointing. I'm really eager to see the reveal already.
All things considered, I think these evolutions are pretty good. Litten is the only one I don't really like, but even then it's not actually that bad. I feel like there's no way these can't be real after having been around for so long and having a character that was confirmed in today's videos. I mean, maybe I'm wrong, but I don't know, I kinda want to hope these are real because liking 2/3 is pretty good for me lol.
I really like the new Pokemon introduced in this batch! I love the idea of region variations for older Pokemon, and I hope the inevitable Gen 4 and 5 remakes have their own region specific Pokemon too!
I still go out to play the game and hit Pokestops a few times a week, but I don't actually HUNT down any specific Pokemon. I just hope that if I see something interesting on the nearby radar that it just shows up. I liked to have Pokevision open in a tab while I play other games and just check it every once in a while to see if there was anything cool around my house, but I guess I can't do that now.
I can't wait for EOV! However, I have to say that the lack of air/sea travel is pretty disappointing. But not as disappointing as the races. Like, I think having races in a game like this is absolutely brilliant and I think it will be a lot of fun, but when all the races are just "humans but _________" it begs the question why even have a 'race' system to begin with, aside from making some classes exclusive to some races. I mean, EOIV had actual animal characters, but when an animal character race is introduced in EOV, we get neko/bunny girls? Why?! In my opinion, one of the few games that I've played that truly has cool and (mostly) unique races are the Ivalice Final Fantasy games like Tactics Advance. But whatever, I know the game will be good. It just feels like the race system is a step in the right direction but not used the greatest way, but my feelings may change after playing it.
To be honest, I was a little disappointed when I first heard the news. However, over time, I've come to realize that this system could be amazing. Like, one Nintendo system that gets the focus of both Nintendo's handheld developers and console developers? Even excluding third part support, having one Nintendo platform to get all of Nintendo's games sounds absolutely incredible, and has potential to be one of Nintendo's best. Will it be able to compete with Xbone or PS4? Honestly it probably won't, which is a shame to have yet another Nintendo console that misses out on third party support. But what we have right now could be huge. Not to mention we'll be able to see all those games that have been handheld exclusive for so long in HD! HD Fire Emblem, HD Pokemon (And Pokemon Mystery Dungeon), HD Animal Crossing... And while the NX may miss out on big AAA 3rd party support, I think it's likely it can hold on to the big supporters of the 3DS like Atlus and Square Enix for example. I'm actually really excited to see the NX. I might even get it on launch, which is not something I would have thought a while back.
Roselia is a good name, and obscure enough that only Pokemon fans would actually know. Eevee is kinda cool too I guess. Honestly someone being named Muk is pretty hilarious to me. I'd love to be friends with Muk.
@Xjay You know, I think growing attached to my team is the most enjoyable part of the mainline games. But Pokemon Go is not a mainline game, nor is it trying to be. They could add in battles, and I'm sure they will, but the combat system right now is pretty weak and not really much like the real games. It doesn't have to be though!
The reason why Pokemon Go works so well right now is how it can fit into any daily schedule of any person. I used to think that it was dumb only being able to catch Pokemon and not battle them like the mainline games, but now that I've played the game, I see why they didn't do it that way. The game is supposed to play out quickly. I've already missed out on Pokemon and Pokestops passing by while on light rail as the game praises me for leveling up, like dag nabbit I don't care I just passed a Pokemon! I'm pretty sure it was a design choice to simplify the entire system to work well, you know, on the go. I used to think that having to catch more of the same Pokemon to evolve them was dumb too, at least when I heard about it. But I think it's an interesting system now that I've played it. Seeing all the gyms around me with high level Pokemon really makes me eager to catch more and finally get one I can take on a gym with. Also, I might be in the minority here, but I've never cared about catching them all in the mainline games. I catch what I want to use, the ones I like and try to keep some sense of balance on my team. But in Pokemon Go, there's more incentive to catch them all, I think, because of how it requires you to travel. It makes even common Pokemon like, I don't know, Goldeen somewhat desirable if you don't live too close to a body of water.
I was a part of the beta test for this game and it really didn't grab my attention. I'm kinda addicted now, and I'm not sure if it's the hype or what, but it's really fun playing this on my daily commute to school, which is filled with pokestops and other groups of people playing the game.
Can't argue with the server issues though. They suck and need to be fixed.
Oh wow! Legendaries! Truly those are the kinds of Pokemon that are there with trainers at the start of all their adventures, the ones that are around the whole game and players grow attached to.
It's so incredible. I've seen groups of people wandering around my college campus playing, I've seen people on the light rail playing, I've seen people on the sidewalk while I'm in the car. It's everywhere, and it's actually pretty awesome. I wasn't alive (or more than a few years old) during the original games' debut so I never experienced the hype those games got, but now I've lived to see the birth of a new Pokemon phenomenon. I'm honestly really enjoying the game myself and I didn't think I would. I can only hope the wait isn't too long for more Pokemon to be added.
I quite like the concept behind the ghost pokemon. The bear looks... kinda lame. It looks like a character from We Bare Bears. Interesting description about it though.

"they can also emit pheromones that attract males of all species, including Pokémon and humans. Inhaling these pheromones may cause opponents to be controlled by Salandit's will."
@Elanczewski Oh, well, don't get me wrong, I adore sprite art myself. I just don't think that many indie games really come close to what we actually got back during the SNES era, and the indie scene is really the only place we see a large quantity of sprite work. But yeah, I would totally prefer incredible spritework over 3D any day, I just think low-poly has its charm.
@Elanczewski I think it's charming. Low-poly can look great if done right. Not that this raises the bar or anything, but it still looks cool. I'd much prefer a game looking like this than another '8-bit' indie platformer.
The dragon just looks hilarious, I kinda really want it. Also looks kinda like the dragon from neverending story. Cutiefly looks cute, and the other bug looks pretty cool. Tapukoko also looks neat.
That fish though... I guess something's gotta dethrone Magikarp eventually.
That's pretty neat, I might grab the game now especially since it somehow got great review scores. I mean, I thought the game looked fairly fun, but I just didn't see it doing well here, especially when it didn't do that well in Japan.
Also, censoring a weeb game makes absolutely no sense and I don't see how anyone can support it. I mean this truly is a special case in my eyes. Like, yeah, of course taking out bikinis doesn't ruin a game, but WHY? Who do they think will buy this game, elementary school kids? No! This is a niche weeb JRPG! Anyone buying it has already seen everything raunchy this game has to offer somewhere else.
Well, I'm glad the game is well received, it means that Nintendo and Atlus at least know what they were doing when making this game. I'm still interested in it, but I will forever dream of the darker sides of FE and SMT meeting one day in the future.
Oh, supreme! the PMD games and I go fairly far back, when I got Red Rescue for GBA. I liked it, but never beat it as a kid. Later when Gates to Infinity came out, I tried the demo, but it didn't seem like anything special. Then when Super Mystery Dungeon came out, I heard a lot of great things about it near launch, and I wanted to give the series another shot. I ended up falling in love with Super Mystery Dungeon, I think it's easily one of the best 3DS games available (as well as one of the best 3DS soundtracks). It made me buy Explorers of Sky and Gates to Infinity as soon as I beat it and also go back to finish Red Rescue. Although, I still haven't played Explorers or Gates with my already massive backlog, so I won't be picking up these on VC. It's awesome they're available though, because Explorers of Sky can be fairly pricey.
I highly recommend the MD games to Pokemon fans who wish the mainline games had better story. I also recommend the series to RPG fans who like to actually self-insert themselves onto the main character, and to those who love video game music.
@Jacadamia SMD's story has gotten its fair share of criticism from what I've seen online. I loved it, however I have to admit I totally see where people's complaints come from. They're valid complaints, but it just depends on the kind of person you are. The ending just sort of... Does its own thing. In my opinion, I think it was a pretty great effort, because it at least tries to shake things up a bit. Aside from that, diehard Explorers fans are unable to believe that anything can reach Sky's height, so they'll say all sorts of things. I haven't played Sky yet (I'm eager, though!) but I get the feeling there's some nostalgic bias going on there.
Honestly, way better than last year's E3. I went in expecting nothing, but got not only the Zelda game of my dreams (Seriously, this is the kind of Zelda game I've wanted since I was a kid), a brand new IP that, to me, looks amazing. Secret of Mana + Zelda + super cute and cool character and aesthetics? Count me in hard!! Plus Rhythm Heaven seems cool but I hope it gets a physical release otherwise I might not buy it to be honest.
The downsides were mostly known beforehand No NX, Color Splash is Sticker Star 2 (I will admit it looks gorgeous though), a significant lack of other games, compared to Sony and Microsoft, etc. By the way, Sony had a great show. Tons of games, even though as a big Resident Evil fan I think RE7 looks like trash... But honestly, Zelda and Ever Oasis are among my two most anticipated games, both coming from Nintendo. I'm also excited for Cuphead, The Last Guardian, and Persona 5, but Nintendo is the only one that had two games I'm really looking forward to.
400k is pretty damn good all things considered. It's only poor when compared to the Japanese sales. I haven't played the first game but I think the series as a whole looks pretty charming and I would like to give it a shot eventually, so I hope it will continue to do at least decent.
I'm pretty young so the best Nintendo E3 for me was just that one january direct where they showed off the first footage of Xenoblade Chronicles X and some other neat looking Wii U games.
Hah, wow I didn't know the 3DS eshop and I had the same birthday. The eshop is rad... Even if I still haven't gotten around to playing like, half of the games I downloaded

Mother 3 definitely won't be there because Nintendo is obviously saving that reveal for the HD Claymation-stylized Mother Trilogy on NX.

Secret of Mana + Zelda + super cute and cool character and aesthetics? Count me in hard!! Plus Rhythm Heaven seems cool but I hope it gets a physical release otherwise I might not buy it to be honest.
The downsides were mostly known beforehand
No NX, Color Splash is Sticker Star 2 (I will admit it looks gorgeous though), a significant lack of other games, compared to Sony and Microsoft, etc.
Re: E3 2016: Nintendo Reveals Ever Oasis for the 3DS
Looks pretty rad to me
Re: Yo-kai Watch Sold Less Than Half a Million Units in North America
400k is pretty damn good all things considered. It's only poor when compared to the Japanese sales. I haven't played the first game but I think the series as a whole looks pretty charming and I would like to give it a shot eventually, so I hope it will continue to do at least decent.
Re: Feature: Our Favourite Nintendo E3 Moments
I'm pretty young so the best Nintendo E3 for me was just that one january direct where they showed off the first footage of Xenoblade Chronicles X and some other neat looking Wii U games.
Re: The Nintendo@E3 2016 Miiverse Community is Live and Full of Unrealistic Expectations
Considering that showing anything that isn't Zelda or Pokemon is in the realm of unrealistic this year, I can't say I blame Miiverse one bit...
Re: Video: Take A Tour Of Earthbound Creator Shigesato Itoi's Offices
@DarkmarkUnited Yeah, I think I noticed him too.
That Mr. Saturn is amazing lol.
Re: Playtonic Handling Wii U Version of Yooka-Laylee, Team17 Porting To PS4 And Xbox One
Well that's good news. Don't seem to hear something like this too often at all!
Re: Talking Point: In Praise of the 3DS eShop, Which is Now Five Years Old
Hah, wow I didn't know the 3DS eshop and I had the same birthday. The eshop is rad... Even if I still haven't gotten around to playing like, half of the games I downloaded
