At its media event this year, Level-5 lifted the lid on its latest cross-media extravaganza, The Snack World. The property is hitting a wide range of sectors - including smartphones, TV, comics and toys - but Nintendo fans will be interested to learn that it's coming to the 3DS as well.
Later this month, Japanese Level-5 fans will get the chance to see how the TV series is shaping up. The Snack World anime will make its official debut alongside Yo-Kai Watch the Movie 2: King Enma and the 5 Stories, Nyan! on December 19th in Japan.
In "a certain era" on "a certain continent," something trivial is happening…The construction of "Large-Scale Leisure Facilities" have demanded the eviction of villages. And when these demands are denied, the village and its residents are destroyed. The main character, a boy named Chup, once lived in "small happiness," but lost it all. But he gets over his sadness and embarks on a journey of revenge… But he's madly in love with the king's daughter, Princess Melora. So in order to fulfill her selfish wishes, he gathers his friends to tackle the impossible.

Cute animation Very much like claymation in terms of timing. Neat!
Argh, the voices! So much cringe!
Im liking it already
I just gotta love everything Level-5 does. No really, I do love every single game they create. If only it didn't take so long for their games to come to the west.
@GoldenGamer88 Really? Did you love the last Professor Layton game they made? It was incredibly the worst of the series.
Looks interesting! I won't get my hopes up until it comes to the west though.
Looking at those lovely animation graphics, I can't help but wish this was coming to Wii U instead.
My Glob that was adorable! Once again Level-5 knows how to deliver a product.
I'm digging the character designs! The story telling seems VERY japanese, but in the adorable way.
@GoldenGamer88 Me too - Dark Cloud, Dark Chronicle, Rogue Galaxy, Professor Layton, White Knight Chronicles, Fantasy Life, Inazuma Eleven series, LBX and Yokai (whens it in the UK). I loved them all, its actually crazy that there is not even one that I dislike. This looks really fun as well, I'm loving the style and the charm. Its hard to believe this was dubbed already and I'm liking it,
Wonder what the gameplay for this one will be like~
I hate to be the one saying the emperor has no clothes here, but that was... terrible. Like, on so many levels. The voice acting was cringeworthy, the plot was tripe, the characters were vapid, the jokes fell flat, and the animation was meh. All of which would be par for the course if this was aimed at young kids, but the corpses, bare breasts, and god-damn-its leave me scratching my head in bafflement at what I just watched.
It saddens me to think that this is coming from the same people who made the ending to Professor Layton and the Unwound Future. Are trashy kids cash-grabs really all that Level-5 can do these days?
not liking the dub, but I love the RPG cartoon hybrid show, very cool, just get better voice actors and translators
@Artwark Really!? You didn't like that one. I must admit, I didn't like it quite as much as the other Layton games but I thought it was good enough for a proper ending to the Layton series. Oh well, I never got used to the 3D style of the characters anyways so I'll always like the first three games but then the last three.
Yo-Kai Watch has a movie...? Didn't think it'd be around for so long for it to have an anime and movies already under its belt.
That animation is radical!
What does this have to do with snacks
@Bliquid
Maybe he bought the Hero's past from the store... I can see that happening too.
That was fun enought to want more. But it also reminded me a bit of Adventure Time.
That was fantastic
I want another Professor Layton Vs. Phoenix Wright in the worst way. This game also sounds good not to mention Level-5 really is aiming to make hit games. Traded in my Smash Bros. 3DS for Fantasy Life, no joking. Bought the Origin Island expansion and have yet to traverse there with my angler
@GoldenGamer88 Do you love...Starship Damrey?
Starship Damrey was made not made by Level 5. It was just published by them as part of the Guild series.
And yes by the way, I did like it.
@ollietaro Not really. It didn't have the charm many other Level-5 games have and it wasn't very colorful and light-hearted as their other games. I don't like horror games overall, too.
This is adorable.
