Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival is a very interesting entry in the beloved Animal Crossing series. Not only is it a significant break from series convention, but it was met by some admittedly cold reception when it was announced and a certain degree of uncertainty has surrounded the game ever since. Like it or not, Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival is rapidly hurtling toward release, and it appears that the number of amiibo that the game is centered around have just gone up.
Figures for Resetti, Celeste, Blathers, and Kicks were recently spotted on Nintendo of Japan's website tentatively listed for a 17th December release date. If this holds true, then it's reasonable to assume that the Animal Crossing amiibo will be coming in at least two waves, which could very likely mean there's even more that have yet to be announced. We'll keep you posted if and when more figures surface.
What do you think? Will you be picking up Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival? Do any of these new amiibo interest you? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

Definitely getting Blathers. He's my favorite. A pity his personality was less funny in New Leaf.
I need them.
Ooh, Resetti and Kicks, interested.
But, still no Sable?
Oh come to think of it, these are consistent with the costumes unlocked in Super Mario Maker.

Blathers! Now you're talking!
This is probably the next big series after the Smash series, lol.
More Animal Crossing: SCAMiibo Festival figures revealed. "What a surprise!" Said nobody ever.
I want O.O
Kicks! will definitely have to pick him up along with Reese and Cyrus.
@Sligeach Speaking of which, that Amiibo Festival game is probably why the Animal Crossing cards have the dice numbers and rock/paper/scissors.
Sure Nintendo, keep making completely new figures. That's definitely gonna help your stock issues...
Damn I need that Kicks one in my life right now!
Blathers. Best name ever!
All this for a 3DS game which isn't even a full Animal Crossing game? Just gimme my Wii U AC
@JtotheY Actually it's for the Wii U title, Animal Crossing amiibo Festival.
But it looks to be the most placid Mario Party game conceived.
Well I've never played an AC game, certainly not starting with a board game, and I have no idea why I would ever need him, but I will get Mr Reseti. That guy was born to be an amiibo. The kind that comes to life at night and attacks you in the eye while you sleep with his pick axe.
Must.. have.. Resetti! o.O
@MagicEmperor
Eh, wot? I'm sorry you feel that way. I'll try to come up with some more quirky dialogue for the next game.
OMG YES
And yet still no Sable?
There's no such thing as 'Nintendo of Japan'. Call it NCL or just Nintendo - because they are a Japanese company.
@RupeeClock forgot all about that game XD. I probably erased it from my memories because I was so disappointed in not getting AC Wii U.
@JtotheY It's a highly forgettable game, I'm sure the amiibo will do well but the game could be critically panned for the same reasons as the amiibo party mode in Mario Party 10.
@RupeeClock Exactly, I think you're exactly right on which Amiibo Nintendo intends to release.
@Captain_Gonru Well it's good to know you aren't letting your disappointment w/ the game interfere w/ your enjoyment of the toys. And if you are buying 2 toys anyway, and you have all those cards, and the game is free to download, might as well give it a whirl. Can't turn out any worse than you already expect it to anyway.
Blathers and Celeste look great! Also firmly in the camp wanting Sable, but her amiibo shouldn't unlock anything until you try using it for a few weeks.
Just as Smash Bros starts to run low on remaining Amiibo...
@Captain_Gonru I think we're past the point of adversarial, I woudln't worry about your tone w/ me. And I do know how you feel, Heroes on the Move on PS3 (renamed to something else, I forget) was my dream game come true - Jak, Ratchet and Sly together in a platformer - only there was no jump button. I did still play it anyway, probably used for $5 at Gamestop, but to this day I'm baffled at how you put those 3 in a game w/o a jump button. Pure commercialism. So I do understand and won't trouble you about it again.
Well I will be one of the few buying these amiibos and this game. I don't care that it's not a full fledge Animal Crossing game because I happen to enjoy games that I can play with my kids. Too bad for those of you who don't want it but I bet you anything that this will be a big hit in Japan and will still sell here in NA.
@rjejr
Wasn't it Playstation Move Heroes? When you advertise a game with the name of the peripheral you have an issue there.
On topic, very happy with these amiibo. I guess Cap'n and Crazy Redd should not be far behind. This addition also makes me think those rumoured SMB Rosalina/Wario/DK have not been announced, so I kinda doubt they will.
I know I have my eyes on Kicks when he comes Stateside since he is one of my favorite Animal Crossing characters.
I would be getting AC: amiibo Festival but that's mostly because that's the only way to get Isabelle and Digby (other 2 favorites).
@sinalefa That could have been it, the original, despite having the perpherals name in it, always seemed much better to me. Of course w/o a jump button they really weren't moving very much.
Where is the Bruce amiibo??!?!?! Yeah that will never happen....
@rjejr It's like a Banjo Kazooie game without collectibles... Hang on a second.
That Resetti amiibo looks evil, but at the same time pretty cool. I'm gonna splash all my cash on the new Animal Crossing amiibo, since they look spectacular.
Hmm since new leaf is on sale i will likely pick that up today...still getting this though.. those amiibo are so cute (must resist buying characters that i have no idea what they are....)
They're so cute!
Kicks is so visually appealing! I'll buy one even though I've never played animal crossing!
Goodness gracious that Kicks amiibo looks so good!
These many amiibos for just one game? Hmm Nintendo this game better be kick ass or you better have a wii u animal crossing game in the mix. Seems like quite an awful waste of an Animal Crossing Engine
@Kaze_Memaryu is that why my smash collection contains mostly rares bought at or below MSRP?
I need to work on the last 5 remaining amiibo suits, but thankfully their all common/uncommon. Glad Olimar is common, hes the remaining suit i want, that is one of the 2 first parties I don't have. (now bowser yet )
Resetti is nice, but truthfully, I only want Wendell.
@Uberchu It's difficult for me to follow that, since Germany (and most of Europe in general) doesn't know amiibo shortages, but I'm still hearing lots of complaints from NA and Japan. Maybe you're among the lucky people who live in just the right place to not have to face these shortages.
