Re: Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition Digital File Size Seemingly Reduced

Gelantious

Does it include the japanese voices? Can see them shrinking the file size with newer compression. But can also see them ripping out the voice packs for other languages. Now if we can download the missing ones then that's fine.

And yeah, would love to be able to disable some music tracks. Really loathe the night music in the city. Dunno how that track was added because it doesn't fit any of the other music and feels so damn forced into the game.

Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting Xenoblade Chronicles X For Switch?

Gelantious

Will wait and see what, if any extra content is added. How censorship is being handled regards to costumes, and if it is censored then I'll wait further to see what the modding community comes up with. If they can fix it then I'll buy it. Otherwise I might as well stick with the WiiU version....

Also if this works on Switch 2, or if there will be a separate version for Switch 2, then I might as well wait for that too.
Seems weird to release this now, when switch is about to die if it doesn't work on switch 2. But then again this is nintendo we're talking about so having them release it again at full price for switch 2 wouldn't surprise me with their insane levels of greed.

Speaking of outfits, is there a transmog option i totk? Only found the colour changing so far.
And some other cosmetic stuff like the sun shirt thingy from the beach village. But bad stats and can't upgrade it so just an item that will never be used...

@Max_the_German
Various reasons, one of the bigger ones is that people don't have time to grind for hours upon hours to upgrade armour.

Or, given the games sandbox nature, people just want to have fun with building and exploring, not grinding hours upon hours...

Since it's a SP game then who cares, let people play it how they want. Honestly Nintendo should add a proper sandbox mode where you can freely spawn whatever you want. And they should adjust prices in the game for people that don't have as much time as others.

Repeated grinding is not about skill, it's just a time sink. A way to artificially bloat the "play time" for a game.
Why yes, Zelda is such a huge game, I spent 200 hours in it! Amazing! Except 190 of those was killing the same mobs over and over again for enough items to upgrade armour....

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom?

Gelantious

6 for me, too much of a rehash from botw. It would have been better as an expansion for botw then a whole new game.

The whole build/fuse system is fun, for the first hour or so. After it becomes tedious having to fuse every weapon you find, making the already annoying weapon handling system worse.

Also way too many frame drops, any area heavy with vegetation really shows the age of switch.

And this is why you always release your games on PC, because then they'll always live on (unless of course they have an always-online function...).

Hoping to see their games on GoG in the future.
Until then there's always roms... Pirates do more for game preservation than the developers themselves. Imagine how many games, movies and music that would be lost if it wasn't for pirates...
Old TV shows where the original copies are gone, because the studio wanted to save some money so they actually re-used and taped over old shows.... But thanks to a pirate that recorded it on tv with a vhs player it can live on.

Re: Nintendo Has Shipped More Than 77 Million amiibo Since 2014

@Cheez
Aye, I'd go as far as only release a new character/toy every other month. With it being towards kids it should be something they can actually afford with their allowance.
And no special editions... Got way too crazy at the end with various specials only being sold in this or that store so people drove around like crazy to get them... Just keep the normal ones.

Re: Nintendo Has Shipped More Than 77 Million amiibo Since 2014

They were great back in WiiU time as it felt like most games had support for them. Seems to have really dropped during the Switch era.. Think I've only used them on BotW on the Switch.

On the topic I'd like to see Skylanders make a come back. But focus more on making games and less releasing a new toy line-up each year.

Re: Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Has Leaked And Is Fully Playable On The Steam Deck

@GrailUK
Depends, the one copy of the game that got out in the wild. If the person that got it payed for it then it's all above board. If they did steal it then yes, it's theft.
As for anyone downloading the rom, that's a bit more murky. Most of those people would never buy the game anyways. Nor a switch. They are just downloading this to piss off nintendo fans right now. So no money lost there.
You'll also have a some that will enjoy the game and end up buying it legit for the online features. Media always downplays this when talking about piracy...

In the end the devs will still make lots of money on this game, same with Nintendo. Piracy is such a small number but they love to blow it out of proportions, then they do have something to blame for bad games, movies, music etc when they don't sell.

I'd like to know how much it actually costs Nintendo to keep these services running. Because server hosting and storage is cheaper than ever. And also there wouldn't be as much load on these services as there was back when the wiiu and 3ds were new. So could scale it down a fair bit.

Anyhoo, I'll grab an emulator and download all the games I've bought and run it on pc from now on.

Re: Rumour: Developers Have Reportedly Been Working On "4K Switch Games"

Gelantious

Of course Nintendo is working on a more powerful Switch, though it might not be released as a Switch but perhaps a Switch 2 depending on how it'll work with compatibility and when it's actually ready.

And of course Nintendo will claim they aren't working on it, as otherwise the sales for the current Switch and the new oled version will plummet. Especially with the upcoming Christmas sales.

Re: New 4K Switch Model Could Launch For $399, Analysts Suggest

Gelantious

If it's just an output upgrade then no, doesn't seem worth it this far into the switch's life cycle. If it's actual performance upgrades and new games have more fidelity with new one then maybe... Depends on the games. But for graphical third party titles I'll go with PC anyways.

But will probably hold on until "switch 2" will be out unless the old one breaks before that. And hopefully Nintendo will have backwards compatibility for switch games. MS really raised the bar on this one in the console world.

Re: Random: Nintendo Ironically Celebrates All Mario Switch Games With Fans, Weeks Before Wiping Some From Existence

Rather sickening that people are defending Nintendo for this.
"Everyone that wanted the game has it by now"
Yeah... no, not everyone can afford the full price of games all willy nilly. Even more so given the situation in the world at the moment.

Loosing jobs, homes.. But hey, gotta prioritise that limited game! More important then food! Imagine being a parent with kids that want this game and this is how Nintendo treats them..
