No huge discounts for 2 year old games? So that's why I've never heard of these guys nor have any of their games.
And a lot of devs tell a different story, especially on Steam. Once they dropped their price by 70%+ they started selling tons. And earned more then when their games were new and sold at full price.
Especially for indi devs like this.
Annoying that their 2fa requires a mobile app instead of just having a code sent to your email/phone number. Honestly more worried that the phone would break and giving me a hard time resetting this then someone figuring out my password.. Using a password manager (keepass2) so it's long and random, and not used anywhere else.
@retro_player_77 You can't fight it, the industry will survive by adapting. Bethesda, while they are a greedy crummy company. Have seen this and is allowing mods for their games, even on consoles to some extent.
Nintendo is a relic in this regard, they could have embraced this opportunity and even made some money of it by officially releasing and selling the game on PC.
Not like they are going to sell any more N64's because of this game anyways, so no reason not to release it on other platforms.
They already sold their soul by releasing mobile games, so only a matter of time now anyways.
@Varkster The biggest reason why the ending was looked at so harshly is that the game makers seriously made a big deal about choice. How you played mattered. Only to have the same 3(4) options at the end for everyone and nothing you did before mattered at all...
Play through the game and flip a coin at every decision and you'll still end up with the same options at the end. Except for one or two decisions in the second game that would end the story there. They basically just copied Deus Ex's ending which is awfully lazy.
Now don't get me wrong, I love the series. Played through it 6 or 7 times and it's awesome. But yeah, the ending really is meh.. So much that I stop after the citadel party the last couple of playthroughs.
I have the Circle Pad Pro and find it really nice for long play sessions since it makes the 3DS more comfortable to hold. At least for those of us with big hands.
CPR have said they are done with Geralt, but possible we'll get to follow some of the other characters. Wouldn't mind a full blown game with Ciri for example.
Or as others mentioned, create our own witcher character. They are dipping their toes into multiplayer with Cyberpunk, if that goes well then a full blown co-op game in the witcher world would be awesome.
Love the game so far Only gripe is that the main char doesn't talk and the annoying brother talks way too much. Keep rooting for the enemies every time he's in a fight, hoping he'll finally die
@Mr_Muscle Right, you'll buy a used console, it breaks within a month, no warranty. You buy another, and another and so on... OR, just use a PC which can play everything, no matter how old it is. Thanks to virtualization you can run everything on a modern PC. And then there's gog.com which updates old games so you can skip the virtualization step even.
Don't get me wrong, I love consoles and collect as much as the next person. But logically the PC is and will always be superior both in power and backwards compatibility. So would prefer to see the console makers embrace that, rather then trying to ignore it and then have their old games/systems end up being emulated/pirated.
Seems weird to me that PS4 people are complaining about it, since they are usually the first ones to bring up exclusives as a selling point for their machine.
So they want the cake and eat it too?
And I'd rather see the game being released on PC then any other console. Can wait until the switch is old gen, but for historic purpose PC is the best platform since it'll never go away as the consoles do. (meaning once a console stops being manufactured and your old one breaks then you're boned if you want to play a game for it).
Looks fine to be, but then again the original ones are horrible for those of us with larger hands. Would love to get a pair with proper sticks and better grip, right now they are gathering dust and the pro controller is used for everything.
@Damo The reason he hates the games is greed and his own stupidity. He refused royalties because he didn't think the games would sell, and then he got pissed when they did. Went so far that he's actually trying to get money from CDPRED by dragging them to court in Poland.
He may be a good author, but he's a terrible greedy human being. And again, without the games the series would never have gotten as big as it is right now. Obviously Netflix is trying to cash in by riding on the games popularity.
Not being more close to the games will probably be the shows downfall considering the games were the first interaction with the series that majority of people have. And naturally they will compare the tv show to the games.
Meh, the game will show up on other systems one way or another. Just a matter of time. Can easily wait another 10 years and then play it on an emulator if needs be.
Sucks they made it cartoony instead of how it actually looks ingame. Guess they want it to fit when standing next to the other amiibos from nintendos own games.
But also destroys my hopes of getting a female crusader amiibo in the future... Oh well.
Nintendo should just release roms themselves on services like gog.com, or license it out to them. It's obvious they can't be bothered to take their own legacy seriously so just let someone that does it well take care of it.
They can threaten to close as many sites as they want, but the roms are already out there. They can't remove them and they will just keep popping back up. Not to mention piratebay which seems to be immortal. So just offer people a legal, cheap and above all easy way to purchase them once and for all.
Honestly this is exactly what I expected from Nintendo and their first try at an online service. They are novices in this area and will continue to make mistakes like this.
And for the people that are trying to defend this.... Storage space is cheap, insanely cheap and no one else behaves like this. For example, take Blizzard and World of Warcraft (or any mmo for that matter). When you stop paying your subscription they don't remove your characters and so on, even if it does take up space on their servers. It'll still be there when you resub. They even store data for games that don't have a monthly subscription like Diablo 3. You also have Steam that saves game data for a ton of games, you don't pay a subscription for that services, or for being able to host screenshots.
Nintendo does a lot of good things, but they are also one of the more greedier game companies around.
If it weren't for those sites, a lot of people would never have been able to play a majority of those games since they were produced in such small numbers and are next to impossible to get your hands on the legal way. As long as there isn't a legal option then I have no problem with these sites.
And as mentioned above, it's a loosing battle for Nintendo. You can't stop them. Instead stop wasting money on lawyers and build a good legal alternative.
It'll only be good if it's everything, all games, all platforms, ever made for one subscription. If I have to pay a different one for Nintendo, another for Sony, a third for one publisher on PC and so on then it'll never work.
The movie/tv show ones are splitting up now, Netflix is loosing Disney as they are starting their own service and then there' hbo and so on. The amount of money each month for all of them is insane and it won't work. People may go for one or two, and then they'll pirate the movies/shows from the other services. And then we're back to square one again because of their stupidity and greed.
All the console makers should just add proper support for keyboard and mouse across all their systems/games and be done with it. For multiplayer just add a filter for matches, controller, k&m or both.
XCX port would be nice, and a sequel to it as well to continue the story. Hopefully without changing the art and animation style, not a fan of XC2 and how they can't turn their heads and always stand in a weird idle position...
Bravely Third on switch would be nice, and wouldn't mind the first two games being ported as well. Really feel like re-playing them but I'm done with my 3ds, want it on the big screen with a normal controller.
Think it looks neat, been playing a lot of 'My time at Portia' and they share the same art style. Might pick it up on Steam once it's out of early access.
This is awesome! Would love to see kodi as an example running on switch. Then I'd actually have a reason to use it on the go, think it's starting to fuse with the dock...
@TheWorkingDead This is nothing like the diablo series, just a heads up so you won't be disappointed. Pillars of Eternity is awesome, but very different.
Sucks they won't publish the patterns at least, it's such a small thing to do. And it would have let people modify and build their own versions with extensions of it.
Because I could definitely see people build upon the robot one, making full costumes and not just a backpack n feet. Wouldn't take long before we'd see gundam n what not inspired ones.
@TossedLlama That's a major bummer, guess it's too much work to make bow and magic animations/skills for them Feels like it'll be very repetitive with all these sword characters only.
Which is odd since they had magic/ranged characters in Hyrule Warrior..
@Jessica286 One can hope they'll add more afterwards, though hopefully not behind payed dlc...
@Ralek85 Because mouth breathers, throat clearers, random curses, random chit chat to people in their room and so on isn't something I want to listen to. And like you said, a good mic won't pick up the sound from the speakers anyways.
Meh, would still keep the game sound to the tv and voice to the headset separately. I'm more interested if there's a push to talk button.. And hopefully it's mandatory. Always on = I'm muting you right away.
Game looks awesome at higher resolution. And don't see a problem with this emulator since Nintendo has officially stopped selling the WiiU systems, so once the machines people currently have breaks there would be no way to play the games you have bought.
If Nintendo were smart they'd get behind these guys, hire them and launch an official emulator to play the old games. Implement the DRM protection so you'd have to use the original GCN/Wii/WiiU disc to play if they are afraid of piracy. Or perhaps finally give up drm and play with the good guys (CD Projekt Red for example).
Wouldn't mind them going more and more into the RPG genre. Perhaps make a spin off open world game where you play as some other character (Female for once!) first before another Link game.
Meh, this is fine to protect the kids. Adults will just use discord, skype, whatever. When I play with my friends then I want to talk to them even if they end up on the opposite side. Possibly an actress though.... Worked for Black Butler.

More RPG elements, possibly companions/co-op. But more life into the NPC's is absolutely needed if it's another open world game.
