@Li_Bae
Hey, thanks.
Metroidvania's are my first choice genre, but after that I just browse through a few sites and find games that I think I'd be interested in. I then do review searches on at least 5 different sites so I get a broad idea off each individual reviewers opinions and watch trailers and yt videos to see if it is what I would like. I then reduce my wishlist accordingly and pick what ever is on sale. I also love the cross genre of the Metroidvania like Dark Devotion or Astral Ascent that mixes rogue like elements into it or games that mix rpg elements into them.
This site here is very good https://www.metroidvania.gg/switch
Hey everyone. This week I finished Skelethrone Chronicles of Ericona. A very good Metroidvania in the same vein as Blasphemous. Really enjoyed itl, took me around 40 hours to beat. I absolutely recommend this to those that love Blasphemous.
Also getting further in Morkull Ragast's Rage, slowly but surely.
Started There is no Light. Man, this game is hard, like really f.......g hard. Love the art style and the gameplay rpg loop is addictive but it loves handing you your backside at the slightest mistake.
Played the demo of Rusty Rabbit and really enjoyed it so I'll probably put an order in for a physical copy.
This week I finished Laika Aged through Blood, 100% all side quests and all weapons and upgrades done. Put in over 235 hours into it and loved every minute. Some amazing bosses that make you look tiny in comparison. Amazing game and clearly one of my favourites.
Also near the end of Morkull Ragast's Rage, I've enjoyed it. Not amazing but still very good.
Also started Skelethrone: Chronicles of Ericona. This reminds me of a mix of Blasphemous and Last Faith but done by a smaller developer. I'm really enjoying it, some of the bosses are super hard but I've beaten them. I'm playing on hard because I hate my hands ๐
I will add that I also put in an order in through VGP and bought Silver Axe, The Messenger, Tevi, and Beyond the Ice Palace 2. Can't wait for them to arrive.
This week I've mainly been playing Laika Aged through Blood.
I'm near the end and to say I've enjoyed it would be an understatement. I've already put in over 170 hours and I've done all the side quests, got all upgrades and all weapons and upgrades. Already my favourite game and the year has only just begun.
I also started Morkull Ragast's Rage after my CE arrived and I've enjoyed the short time I've played.
This looks to be the safest console Nintendo will ever release from what we've seen.
I like the surprises we used to get but when you're console is one of the best released then you can understand why they are playing it safe.
Still excited to see what software is coming, that's the most exciting thing.
@ChakraStomps This game has generous checkpoints, there is literally one before every boss and it always starts you right before them. Also, the boss fights are some of the best moments in the game, a definite highlight.
@Overzeal Ignore it at your own loss. If you right off games on how they look them you really need to rethink your strategy, there are some amazing games you'll be missing out on. This is not pixel art but beautiful hand drawn artwork.
I'm playing it atm and have to agree, the soundtrack is absolutely amazing. It needs a Collector's Edition bundled with a soundtrack CD asap. It is beautiful.
My family heard me playing it and asked what the songs were I was listening to, it is that good.
I'll add something that the reviewer didn't even mention, you can collect cassettes on your journeys that let you listen to the songs on your cassette player whenever you want, and they're worth listening to.
The gameplay is some of the most original since Yoku's Island Express.
It mixes motocross with gunfights superbly. It is difficult but rewarding at the same time.
Highly recommended
Hey everyone. This week I got further in Rogue Legacy 2, I'm about half way through. Thoroughly enjoying it, great mix of Rogue lite and Metroidvania.
I started Laika Aged through Blood. I love this game, the music and art is absolutely beautiful. This game is quickly becoming one of my favourite original Metroidvania's alongside Yoku's Island Express.
Also started Morkull Ragast's Rage after my CE arrived from Playasia. Great game so far.
Hey everyone.
This week I finished Rebel Transmute.
It was good but man there are some infuriating sections, luckily not enough to ruin the experience too much for me to get to the end
Started Rogue Legacy 2 after my CE arrived from LRG.
Really enjoying it, constantly unlocking stuff and upgrading which is nice and rewarding.
Also started Rainworld, I really like the world they created but it loves to punish you for the slightest of mistakes.
It really pushes the friendship and tries hard to make you not like the game but I won't let it break me....yet.
Still getting further in Ash & Halloween double pack as well.
I will also be playing some of my N64 games, more than likely some. Robotron 64 and maybe some Mace: The Dark Age. Love those games.
I love bizarre Metroidvania's so I'm definitely getting this. I highly recommend Super Daryl Deluxe if you want another crazy option. It is extremely good.
@Ganner Thanks, I wasn't planning to, I can't wait to get into it. I've had it there for a while and finally grabbed it. I've got the original and loved it so I'm glad it's good ๐
Between all the family outings and get togethers I played some more Rebel Transmute, I'm enjoying it, it's not perfect but I'm enjoying the punishing and rewarding gameplay.
Also opened my Standard edition of The Last Faith as I wait for my Nycrux Edition.
I'm really enjoying it, can't wait to sink some more time into it.
Also my copy of Rainworld arrived from LRG so I'll get into that and my copy of Rogue Legacy 2 CE.
I also got Ash Vs Evil Dead and Halloween double pack on cart, so I'll also be hooking into those as well, bad pun intended.
Good time to be a gamer!
@Pipulitoch Sorry to hear you've had bad experiences. I myself haven't. I agree, FOMO is terrible but if these guys or any other limited company doesn't release it no one would so in the end isn't having the option to buy a physical copy of a game better than none at all?
I'd prefer to buy my games, collectors Editions or standard editions from an easily accessible supplier but in reality we can't. These smaller companies exist so we can buy these titles, sure, it isn't the best option but at least it is exactly that, an option.
I can vouch for Pix n Love.
They have great customer communication and always deliver.
I have Have a Nice Death Collectors Edition pre-ordered through them atm and it has been delayed but they let me know that they are hoping to deliver them in the next week or so.
I've also ordered Souldiers, NMH 3, Young Souls and Nefasto's Misadventures Collectors Editions off them and they are of extremely high quality.
Hey everyone. I am currently playing Oddworld Strangers Wrath Remastered. Love the Oddworld series, if you can't tell by my avatar.

Think of a prettier Dead Cells but with some RPG elements thrown in as you upgrade your character and weapons. It controls perfectly too. Started NG+ and loving it. Absolutely highly recommended.
My Collectors Edition of Rogue Legacy 2 has arrived as well as my copy of Animal Well so I can't wait to get into those too.

Unfortunately yes.
But for those who want physical versions of some of our favourite games these are the only options open to us.
